  • Wrong spelling dictionary

I received a Word document in my email that I opened in Pages and saved a new copy.
I noticed that there were multiple red lines under words that I knew were spelled correctly. I right clicked on the words to see a number of suggestions that seem to be Spanish (I don't actually speak Spanish, so I cannot be 100% correct, but it's a foreign language nonetheless).
None of my other Pages documents are like this--only this one. I have no idea how to switch dictionaries. Can anyone help?

  • Name Spelled Wrong in Calendar Section - textEncodedORAddress

    Hello,
I have a user who recently had their name changed in AD. It appears everything is good except on his calendar in Outlook. On the bottom right hand side of a calendar appointment, it displays "Last modified by USERNAME". This is where the user's name shows
up with the wrong spelling. I have looked all over AD and I ran across the "textEncodedORAddress" field using ADSI Edit. Is this the field where "Last modified by USERNAME" is pulled from? Is it ok to just update this field using ADSI edit? Thanks
    Jason

    Hi Jason,
As I know, there is no way to change the <username> which follow the "Last modified by" currently, because it is by design and write into hard code.
    2 Workaround:
a, Disable the old mailbox after exporting all messages, then create a new mailbox and link to the
AD user. Finally, import all messages to the new mailbox.
b, Hide the "Last modified by", user can change permission level to stop the
    calendar sharing.

  • E66, dictionary, spelling problem

    German spelling, selected language: German
For some reason my e66 is spelling some words not correctly:
if I type the german word "mit" oder "jetzt" the e66 is writing "miu" and "jetzu".
The correct version of the words I can select by using the *-key, but this is annoying!
How can I get rid if this wrong spelling without formatting the e66 , since it takes some time to personalize a phone your way.
    Thank you for helping.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Just figured it out for the N86. I would believe it works for other phones with the same operating system also.
As the dictionary "learns" which words you are using the most, I did the following to solve the "dev/det" problem:
When for instance writing an sms (with T9), write "dev" and change to "det" as many times it takes until "det" comes up as the first choice. For me it took 15-20 times, and the problem is solved

  • Problem during ORACLE 9.2.0 on HP-UX 11.11

    Hi,
    I am installing Oracle 9.2.0 on HP-UX 11.11.
During the start of the isntallation in File locations Destination and Path"
    in Destination i write "ORACLE_HOME"
    in path i write " /opt/oracle/product/9.2.0"
Now when i write product in path it changes to wrong spelling "prodcut" and when i try to correct it the Destination name changes to "ORACLE_HOM"
again if i try to correct ORACLE_HOM to ORACLE_HOME the path will be changed
it gives /opt/oracle/prodcut/9.2.0 ( again prodcut instead of product)
I removed the old installation of the Oracle and reinstall many times but every time same error occurs.May be someone installed it with "prodcut" and there are some remaining files left over. How can i remove them??OR is it any other option to rectify this all
Can anybody help me as i have some urgent assingment to complete this

    Hi,
it shouldn't be necessary to reinstall the whole machine. There are some elements in /etc, directory oracle , files oraInst.loc and oratab. Maybe it already helps to delete these objects, because the installer loses its information outside the Oracle directories. If not, you may delete the complete structure under $ORACLE_BASE, but it should be made sure, only Oracle related files and directories are deleted.

  • Help needed in decode function

I am trying to use decode function shown below
    select decode(deptid,(select deistinct dept_id from dept),'found') into id from student ;
it shows error ORA 01427:single-row subquery returns more than one row.
could you people help me resovle the issue.
    Thanks.

Funny thing how many mistakes can be in one little line. I try to list what is wrong here. maybe it helps you to understand what is going on.
select decode(deptid,(select deistinct dept_id from dept),'found') into id from student ;1) "deistinct" => wrong spelling "distinct"
    2) Uniqueness => the typical DEPT table has DEPT_ID as a primary key. So DISTINCT would do nothing here. "select distinct dept_id from dept" is the same as "select dept_id from dept".
    3) decode with a multi-row subquery => the decode function only accepts single values. e.g: ,"decode(deptid,(select max(dept_id) from dept),..." => THis is not really useful, just an example.
    4) decode without handling other values => it is better to say what should happen, when the values does not match. decode(deptid,:x,'found','notfound')
    5) select .. into ... from. => INTO is only used in a PL/SQL . So I assume this statement is part of a larger PL/SQL block. In that case "into id " is a problem. The select would return many values, but your ID variable could probably hold only one value.
    6) Identification of values => For all students that could be returned, you only would know 'found'. At least select the ID for the student too, else you wouldn't know which student was found. select id, 'found' ... from student.
    7) Don't select everthing and check for each row later. Select only relevent rows. That means do your checks in the WHERE clause of a select statement not in the SELECT clause. Example: "select id from student where dept_id in (select dept_id from dept);" Possible in this case is also a join "select student.id from student, dept where student.dept_id=dept.dept_id"
    8) referential integrity. Why do have to do this check anyway? On table student there should be a FK constraint, so that only values can be inserted where the DEPT_ID is correct. Then you select would be "select id from student;".

  • Wepage not displaying content

I am using a math homework website, Webassign.net, and certain features that were displaying normally a few days ago are suddenly not displaying now, and a link to the textbook is not displaying the content either. My plug-ins are all updated, I checked Safari>Preferences>Security and these websites are allowed. And there no software updates I need. Macbook Pro Retina Display, version 10.8.5,  2.9 GHz Intel Core i7

Try to empty the cash of Safari, it could help. Safari - Preferences - Confidential (sorry if wrong spelling, I'm using OS X with another language) and there is an option to delete all sites cookie files. Don't choose it, click the button just below that (maybe "Details" or "More details") and it will open a list of sites that have cookie files on your mac. Find your site and delete it from there.
This could be an error that occurred when your site was downloading to your computer and something gone wrong (connection, something else) and it downloaded a crashed page into Safari's memory.

  • Dictionaries in Appleworks

Using Tiger,(OS X.IV.XI or 10.4.11) I upgraded my hardware from G4 Quicksilver to iMacG5 and now Appleworks will NOT allow me to change words in any documents. It recognizes my last name and city as wrong spelling, will not learn the correct spelling, which is already there. How or what must I do to make Appleworks work as before I upgraded my hardware?

Still in use here, even though we've measured distances in km and gasoline in litres for about four decades now.
In my install disk, there is no predefined custom dictionary.
My guess is that the name is not predefined.
Possibly different from my install disk, although I haven't dug it up to check. I did take a look in AppleWorks Help, and found this:
    {quote:title=AW Help: Dictionaries}{quote}
When you install AppleWorks, it includes one empty user dictionary. You can create additional user dictionaries if, for example, you're working on a project using unusual spellings that wouldn't be correct in other contexts.
No mention of a default name for the included user dictionary, but I don't remember ever having changed the name of that dictionary.

  • Skydrive Pro & Sharepoint sync - Only sync subfolders

Is it possible to sync only files in a sub-folder within a main document library?
I'm working on a set of documents that are stored in a sub-folder which is part of a huge document library. I don't want to sync the whole library because:
    - I don't need the rest of the docs
    - I don't want to accidentally mess it up by deleting/moving files etc
Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to create a new document library for the stuff that I'm working on.. (some company policy or other)
    Thanks in advance

In the example above and now below :) Is there anyway do this, I am the admin could I set a users right to the mainlibrary and one subfolder, and thus not allow syncing to other folders - Power Shell it maybe? This would be very helpful, as I would like
to get away from syncing 1.75GB folders only to play inside a  folder with 25 megs, from a server overhead prospective this would greatly improve network congestion problems. Hope someone is listening to my wine - LOL I know it's the wrong spelling.
    Gord(Firefoxf18)
For example, I have a document library:
    http://someurl.com/mainlibrary
    Within that library, I have a sub-folder
    http://someurl.com/mainlibrary/mysubfolder
When I choose the option to sycn a new library, in the box that says "Which library do you want to sync?", I put the url : http://someurl.com/mainlibrary/mysubfolder
However, when I started syncing, skydrivepro actually sycn the whole Mainlibrary, and not just "mysubfolder".
So my question is whether it's possible to sync just "mysubfolder"

  • GREP Question:  Style em spaces that precede only certain triggers within a paragraph

    Hello,
    Up front:
I do not know GREP well enough to begin to tackle this.  And as usual, I'm in a pinch!
Also, if you're the visual type, just look at the second to the last paragraph at the bottom, and that may be enough to help you devise the GREP style.  Otherwise, bear with me, I have to think this through...
I have a list that spans pages of events.  The events are formatted as follows:
☐Box City EventNameSpecific Month EndPara (this is a single paragraph in a story of a hundred such paragraphs)
On paper, each event will need to be preceded with a filled specific-colored box (☐).  I would like this box to be made from a strikethrough applied to an em space using grep, since that is very easy to create using a character style and only requres one setting (the thickness of the strikethrough).
There is a legend at the bottom of the page, detailing about 14 types of events.  Some of the different types of events will require the same colored box.  But in all I have 7 different colors of boxes in the legend.
    I'm looking to create...
7 character styles, one for each color (consider this done already)
1 paragraph style (essentially done, but missing the GREP)
7 GREP styles (or more as necessary) specifically to apply only to the em space that precede specific sets of text strings
If I need, or if it is simpler to create 14 GREP styles within the paragraph style, that's fine.  But I understand we may be able to do something like this... (Target phrase 1 | Target phrase 2 | Target phrase 3) in between parenthesis to identify multiple possible triggers within the same rule.
I'm fine whether it's 7 or 14 rules in there, I just want to be able to update them over the course of time as necessary - but it won't be for another season at least if I do.
I don't know GREP well enough to piece together what I need.  Vaguely familiar with look aheads and look behinds.  I do understand it may be easier if the em space is in between other characters, so in my example below I've inserted hairspaces.  But ultimately I want the em space to be flush or nearly flush to the left of the frame.
    For my example below:
I only want to apply character styles to em dashes based on the strings in bold.
The strings of text that will trigger the GREP will vary in number of words and may or may not contain a dash.
I want to ignore Citynames regardless of number of words... Chicago vs. San Francisco vs. Vancouver, BC for example.
I want to ignore MonthofYear which appears after the second tab.
The tabs will have set stops as a regular part of the paragraph style.  I'm including them in my example below in case it helps to visualize possible anchors to use in GREP.
I want the style to be easy enough to modify, for example if I want to simply add an (EEEE New Eventname) to the list of possible options within a rule that triggers a specific character style.  See below should make it clearer.
    So here's what I'm thinking...
Within the Paragraph Style, the first two examples of GREP Styles should be able to respond to the following criteria:
Rule 1:  If the paragraph contains any of the following, then apply Char Style 1 to the em dashes in those paragraphs. Use a unique GREP expression for each phrase below where each uses Char Style 1 or use a single GREP expression to capture all three possible triggers:
    ABC BB Invitational
    ABC Xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    ABC MM-Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Rule 2: If the paragraph contains any of the following, then apply Char Style 2 … and so on
    Global ABC Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Global WXYZ Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I cannot count on “ABC” or “Global” being the trigger for the style, if you know what I mean.  I need the entire phrase (ABC BB Invitational) to be the trigger… if it exist in its entirety, then apply the style to the preceding em dash in that paragraph.  This way if there are any mispellings or if we launch a new event type which ends up flowing in to my document I will know it.
hairspace  emspace  tabspace CitynameOneWord ABC BB Invitational tabspace MonthofYear
hairspace  emspace  tabspace  Cityname TwoWrds ABC BB Invitational tabspace MonthofYear
hairspace  emspace  tabspace  Cityname MultiWrds ABC BB Invitational tabspace MonthofYear
hairspace  emspace  tabspace  Cityname TwoWrds ABC MM-Xxxxxxxxxxxxxx tabspace MonthofYear
hairspace  emspace  tabspace  Cityname MultiWrds ABC Xxxxxxxxxxxxxx tabspace MonthofYear
hairspace  emspace  tabspace  Cityname TwoWrds Global ABC Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx tabspace MonthofYear
hairspace  emspace  tabspace  CitynameOneWord Global WXYZ Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx tabspace MonthofYear
hairspace  emspace  tabspace  CitynameOneWord Global Special Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx tabspace MonthofYear
hairspace emspace tabspace  CitynameOneWord Globl Special WRONG SPELLING  tabspace MonthofYear
I hope this makes sense and isn't too unnecessarily redundant.  Time for bed.  Fingers crossed someone will post at least one GREP string, so I have some magic code for tomorrow morning!  Ideally, it would be great if you would include a brief explanation of waht the string is doing, but minimally, please do use one of my text stings above, so I know what to mess with and what not to.  ;-)
    <says prayer>
    Thanks!
    Rick

Well, for a moment I thought I had an idea of how to do this with GREP styles, but I realized it wouldn't work, and I'm not sure it's possible unless you are able to make a separate style for every possible string between the em space and the trigger text. You want to use the lookahead because you want to find that text, but you don't want to select it or apply the style to it, but a lookahead can't handle the kind of variability on string length that you need to work based on just the bolded text at the end.
It would actually be easier to use paragraph styles based on the bolded text that include a nested character style, I think. That could be handled by find change, but I think the best thing is probably to move this over to scripting.
Rather than just move the discussion, though, I'm going to ask you to cross post so there are two threads on the chance that someone else who doens't visit scripting might have another idea for you here.
Here's a link to scripting: InDesign Scripting
