Wrong SSL Cert pop ups in outlook

Hi
We have a client with exchange 2010 and we just got a new SSL cert from Go Daddy and installed it. Weird thing is even before we ordered and installed that go daddy cert they were getting pop ups in out look for an expired cert which is from a place "asdl.newzealand.co.nz"
when we are in Canada and I can't find anything anywhere that refers to that.
Can anyone please guide me where to start looking?
thanks.

Hi,
Based on my experience, the certificate credential is always caused by that there is some connection using the name "asdl.newzealand.co.nz".
Thus, except with check the property Autodiscoverserviceinternaluri, I also recommend you check the URLs for all web services. And we can use the tool Test Email AutoConfiguration and check the URLs it gets.
For more information about using Test Email AutoConfiguration, you can refer to the following article:

  • Exchange 2007 - Outlook Anywhere problems after installing new SSL cert

*** Original thread posted on wrong forum ***
    Hi all,
Exchange 2007 environment (2x CAS, ISA2006). Not much familiar with Exchange.
Problem: 20-odd machines off the domain use Outlook Anywhere (XP with Outlook 2010). AUthentication pop-up and not able to connect.
Company has recently changed its name and we have to renewed the SSL cert. Previous SSL cert. was issued to: webmail.oldcompname.co.uk (several SANs on that cert., including internal server names).
Applied for a new UCC SSL cert issued to: newcompanyname.com (also includes webmail.newcompanyname.com ; autodiscover.newcompanyname.com + old SANs).
The setting on those machines point the proxy to the following:
Https://webmail.oldcompname.co.uk (which is fine since it is in the cert and can be accessed)
Only connect to proxy servers that have this principal name in their cert.:
msstd:webmail.oldcompname.co.uk (I believe this is the problem since the new UCC SSL cert. was issued to newcompanyname.com).
Browsing technet + internet it seems that I need to look into OutlookProvider EXPR.
When I run Get-OutlookProvider everything is blank (I believe I should be concerned to EXPR only for Outlook Anywhere).
I am thinking of running: Set-OutlookProvider -Identity EXPR -CertPrincipalName msstd:newcomanyname.com
My only concern is whether this might break something else in the Exchange environment, especially as we have 100+ users on smartphones connecting via SSL on webmail.oldcompname.co.uk
Is it save to run this command? Do I need to re-start IIS? Do I need to look into any settings on ISA2006?
    Comments/help are much appreciated.
    Regards

    Hi,
According to the description, I found that we re-new a SSL certificate.
"I am thinking of running: Set-OutlookProvider -Identity EXPR -CertPrincipalName msstd:newcomanyname.com"
Just do it. Then remove the old certificate on ISA server and install a new one.
Found a similar thread for your reference:

  • Outlook ICS Error - Third Party Add-in Now Obsolete; Pop-ups Every Five Minutes

    Hi,
My company had a SmartSheet subscription that is now cancelled; since it cancelled, I receive annoying pop-ups like this:
"Enter your user name and password to download:
    http://publish.smartsheet.com/etc.
I'm assuming it's linked to some .pst file or rooted in the registry... Please help.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
Please try to start Outlook with the /cleansharing command to check the result. To do this, exit Outlook, press Windows key + R to open the Run command, type
    outlook /cleansharing and press Enter.
Please let me know the result.

It's recommended to download and install
Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office

  • Applemac OSX 10.7.5 How do I spot pop ups appearing every time I click the mouse on-line. this has only just started.have I clicked something  wrong??

How can I stop pop ups apprering every time I use the mouse on-line. have I clicked on something wrongly??

You may have inadvertently installed adware. Eradicating it is simple and you don't have to download or install anything to fix it. For an explanation or how this may have occurred, how to avoid it in the future, and for one possible solution read How to install adware.
Blocking popup windows in Safari and ad blocker extensions can be useful, but they are often ineffective defenses for this particular threat.

    Helpful Links Regarding Malware Problems
If you are having an immediate problem with ads popping up see The Safe Mac » Adware Removal Guide, AdwareMedic, or Remove unwanted adware that displays pop-up ads and graphics on your Mac - Apple Support.
Open Safari, select Preferences from the Safari menu. Click on Extensions icon in the toolbar. Disable all Extensions. If this stops your problem, then re-enable them one by one until the problem returns. Now remove that extension as it is causing the problem.
The following comes from user stevejobsfan0123. I have made minor changes to adapt to this presentation.
Fix Some Browser Pop-ups That Take Over Safari.
Common pop-ups include a message saying the government has seized your computer and you must pay to have it released (often called "Moneypak"), or a phony message saying that your computer has been infected, and you need to call a tech support number (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it resolved. First, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and your computer has not been affected. This "hijack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so do not pay any money, call the listed number, or provide any personal information. This article will outline the solution to dismiss the pop-up.
    Quit Safari
Usually, these pop-ups will not go away by either clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
    Relaunch Safari
If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. In these circumstances, after force quitting Safari, turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then relaunch Safari normally. It will try to reload the malicious webpage, but without a connection, it won't be able to. Navigate away from that page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com, and trying to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet, and the page you entered will appear rather than the malicious one.

If you require anti-virus protection Thomas Reed recommends using ClamXAV. (Thank you to Thomas Reed for this recommendation.)
From user Joe Bailey comes this equally useful advice:
    The facts are:
    1. There is no anti-malware software that can detect 100% of the malware out there.
    2. There is no anti-malware that can detect everything targeting the Mac.
    3. The very best way to prevent the most attacks is for you as the user to be aware that
the most successful malware attacks rely on very sophisticated social engineering
techniques preying on human avarice, ****, and fear.
    4. Internet popups saying the FBI, NSA, Microsoft, your ISP has detected malware on
your computer is intended to entice you to install their malware thinking it is a
        protection against malware.
    5. Some of the anti-malware products on the market are worse than the malware
from which they purport to protect you.
    6. Be cautious where you go on the internet.
    7. Only download anything from sites you know are safe.
    8. Avoid links you receive in email, always be suspicious even if you get something
you think is from a friend, but you were not expecting.
    9. If there is any question in your mind, then assume it is malware.

  • Alert pop-ups

I have 4 email addy’s for the phonetically-challenged: xcription, xscription, excription, exscription.
    I’ve been getting Alert boxes:
    1. “Sending of password didn’t succeed. Mail server mail.comcast.net responded: LOGIN failed. (click OK)”
    2. “Login failed – Login to server mail.comcast.net failed (Retry) (Enter new password) (cancel)”
    3. “Error w/ acct xcription – Sending of password for user excription didn’t succeed. Mail server mail.comcast.net responded: LOGIN failed (click OK)”
I *do* connect, but the Alert boxes still keep popping up ad nauseum.
In the lower left of the Mozilla Thunderbird screen, it will say “sending login info” (that’s -ing, not “sent”).
In the lower right of the Mozilla thunderbird screen, the green slider bar has been “all the way” over, but Not going away.
These have got to be ramifications of something wrong with Tools, Account Settings.
I’ve contacted Comcast, and got no where. They just instructed me to change incoming mail port, putting SMTP port, and “none” to SSL. Frankly, I do NOT notice anything working any different, better or worse, as a result of those changes – so I’ve experimented with going back to the original ports, and MAY be getting better service – but the lower left & lower right Mozilla Thunderbird phenomena are still there.
In the process of re-programming the Account Settings, somehow 2 of the email addy’s are gone – but the Tools Account Settings don’t let me delete, re-add, etc.
Please help me fix these issues so I don’t get these blasted Alert pop-ups all the time.

  • Pop-ups in certain sites, can't contain the problem:

Hi!! I would like to submit a problem to the apple community. When I open certain websites, i get redirected to another web site, 'adultyum.info' containing adult material. This is really really annoying. I've got AdBlock Plus both on Chrome and Safari. But i'm only being redirected when using Safari. In Chrome, I haven't experienced the problem so far. CLAMXAV and ADWAREMEDIC both did not detect any problem. Please please do help.. I also tried changing router, and I still experienced it on Safari..
    So i have several questions:
    1) What is the solution to this problem?
    2) Is this dangerous? Does it maybe steal private information like passwords or surfing habits?

  • Macbook is running very slow and pop-ups come up constantly while using both Safari & Chrome.

My 2008 macbook has a virus on it caused by me accidentally clicking a wrong download while making a mix tape for a friend ( I was using a website that is not illegal btw) and now my computer is running very slow. As well as having pop ups all over my chrome and safari with EVERYTHING I do. If someone out there could help me its very much appreciated as I am a college student with various online classes. I am running OS X Lion 10.7.5 currently.

  • How do I dis-able the pop-up blocker when the box is not checked and yet, pop ups are being blocked?

I want to totally disable Mozilla's pop-up blocker. I went to the tools/options page and found that the pop up blocker box is not checked but it is still blocking pop-ups. I see that others are having the same problem. How do we fix it, or, is this a programming issue and if so, is Firefox fixing it? It is quite annoying.

Could you click the Exceptions button to the right of "Block pop-up windows" and make sure none of those sites is specifically blocked?
If you have unchecked the box and there is no site-specific setting, that usually does it...
Is it possible that an add-on is doing the blocking? A standard diagnostic to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings) is to try Firefox's Safe Mode.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [[Backing up your information]]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode ([[Safe Mode]]) using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode."
Check the Options dialog > Content to make sure the pop-up blocker is turned off.
If popups now work correctly, this points to one of your extensions as the most likely culprit. If you restart in normal mode, you can try disabling (or adjusting the options of) any that seem possibly popup-related (e.g., security related) here:
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Add-ons > Extensions category
    Any change?

  • Mackeeper and other pop ups

Hey, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if my Macbook Pro has a possible virus? I really don't think anything is wrong, as everything seems to be working fine, knock on wood.... However, I noticed I when using Safari, I have had pop ups for Mackeeper, to clean my Mac, and just now I got a new tab opened automatically for Mackeeper and when I went to leave the page, a pop up appeared that said Let Mackeeper clean your Mac, If you don't want to use Mackeeper, leave this page.  It might not have been word for word, but it was to that effect, i exited out of that page! I saw a similar post on here from November, and Linc Davis gave steps to check for an extension that could be a problem. I followed those steps, but didn't find any extensions at all... So, did I look right and do I have anything to worry about? I really am not worried and know what to look for, but just want some opinions of my peers....

  • Virus macbook air pop ups

    Hi,
    Please can someone help me.
I have pops ups coming up every single time I open a new page on my mac air. EVERY TIME. A FEW TIMES.
Purifier, casino, macbook keeper. I have disabled pop ups in preferences on safari, but it doesn't help.
could it be Utorrent causing a virus? I have uninstalled it but no luck.

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem. You may have installed a variant of the "VSearch" ad-injection malware. Follow Apple Support's instructions to remove it.
If you have trouble following those instructions, see below.
Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. This procedure works as of now, as far as I know. It may not work in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for a more recent discussion, or start a new one.
The VSearch malware tries to hide itself by varying the names of the files it installs. To remove it, you must first identify the naming pattern.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons
    In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
A folder named "LaunchDaemons" may open. Look inside it for two files with names of the form
              com.something.daemon.plist
    and
               com.something.helper.plist
Here something is a variable string of characters, which can be different in each case. So far it has always been a string of letters without punctuation, such as "cloud," "dot," "highway," "submarine," or "trusteddownloads." Sometimes it's a meaningless string such as "e8dec5ae7fc75c28" rather than a word. Sometimes the string is "apple," and then you must be especially careful not to delete the wrong files, because many built-in OS X files have similar names.
If you find these files, leave the LaunchDaemons folder open, and open the following folder in the same way:
    /Library/LaunchAgents
In this folder, there may be a file named
              com.something.agent.plist
where the string something is the same as before.
If you feel confident that you've identified the above files, back up all data, then drag just those three files—nothing else—to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Close the Finder windows and restart the computer.
Don't delete the "LaunchAgents" or "LaunchDaemons" folder or anything else inside either one.
The malware is now permanently inactivated, as long as you never reinstall it. You can stop here if you like, or you can remove two remaining components for the sake of completeness.
    Open this folder:
    /Library/Application Support
If it has a subfolder named just
               something
where something is the same string you saw before, drag that subfolder to the Trash and close the window.
Don't delete the "Application Support" folder or anything else inside it.
    Finally, in this folder:
    /System/Library/Frameworks
there may an item named exactly
                v.framework
It's actually a folder, though it has a different icon than usual. This item always has the above name; it doesn't vary. Drag it to the Trash and close the window.
Don't delete the "Frameworks" folder or anything else inside it.
If you didn't find the files or you're not sure about the identification, post what you found.
If in doubt, or if you have no backups, change nothing at all.
The trouble may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Then, still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

  • How to validate SSL cert on ASA5510, before changing DNS?

I have recently installed an SSL certificate from a third party CA (GoDaddy) into an ASA5510 that I will be using as a VPN appliance for AnyConnect clients.
The ASA is going to replace our VPN server, which currently has the vpn.domain.com FDQN assigned to its IP address in public DNS.
Is there a way for me to properly valiadate that the SSL cert will work without any issues (i.e. no invalid error messages popping up on users' AnyConnect clients) from the Internet, before I cut over public DNS to point to the public facing interface on the ASA5510 which is where vpn.company.com will ultimately be pointing to?

Put vpn.domain.com in your local PC hosts file with the new IP. Then try Anyconnect.

Any quick help will be highly appreciated!
    Many thanks

    Hi,
Are you using a Single domain cert by GoDaddy, if thats the case we cannot add more than one domain to your cert. I believe you have added the outlook anywhere domain name to your cert since your outlook anywhere connection is prompting any errors.
You have two options, one is purchase a UCC Cert and add all URL's required or Please have a look on these below Virtual Directories on the exchange server and modify the the URL's so you will not get the Cert errors.
use the shell to view the internal and external URL's,
    Get-ActiveSyncVirtualDirectory | fl internalurl,externalurl
    Get-AutoDiscoverVirtualDirectory | fl internalurl,externalurl
    Get-ECPVirtualDirectory | fl internalurl,externalurl
    Get-OabVirtualDirectory | fl internalurl,externalurl
    Get-WebServicesVirtualDirectory | fl internalurl,externalurl
Change all your internal URL's similar to the external URL's, use the Set command as the example below.
    Get-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory -server EXCHANGE | Set-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory -ExternalUrl ‘https://mail.domain.com/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml’
make sure all your servername.localdomain.local URL's are changed to match primary certificate name.

  • SSL Cert Setup on the Palm Pre

I am having issues setting up my companies email on the Palm Pre.  We use an SSL cert and for some reason I get Certificate Error. Is the time and date wrong.  I looked at many blogs with other people having this issue and they say a root cert needs to be put on the phone.  The only way it says to do this is to install the Microsoft Certificate Authority and then generate the cert that way.
Well, the issues that I am having is I have been generating my cert using the new-exchangecertificate -domainnames mydomain.domain.com, and I do multiples dns names.  This cert works fine on all my computers and all other cell phones.  When I put it on the pre I get the error above.  I read that this is an IIS root cert and the palm does not allow this.  I then installed the Certificate Authority and generated a cert and the pre worked fine, the only issue is the cert broke the rest of my external users connections.  I need the cert to have dns resolution addresses in it.  I found out how to get the Certificate Authority to have san:dns= domain.domain.com names.  But when I generate this cert and put it as my primary cert it then brakes the palm and my other systems.
How can I get the Certificate Authority to give me a cert with all the DNS names I need and work on the palm and all my other systems.
Any help is great and thanks in advance.

  • Rolling out SSL cert on CAS array

    Hi there,
I have an exchange 2010 CAS array with 2 servers in it. I need to roll out an updated SSL certificate as the old one has expired
however, it only seems to allow me to install this certificate on the CAS1 server.
When I did was I (using the GUI) created a new Exchange certificate. Put in the FQDN of both my CAS servers when I created
it (although only 4 SAN names appear on the cert on Godaddys website, that being imap, pop, mail and autodiscover). Got my SSL cert from the 3rd party. Completed the certificate and it seems to be ok one my CAS1 server. But then there is no SSL cert on the
CAS2 server. I just wondered how I would go about installing it on that server, or even if it is necessary to have it on there.
I tried exporting/importing it from CAS1 to CAS2 but on CAS2 it just shows it as "The certificate is invalid for Exchange
    Server usage".
    Any help is appreciated

First of all, you don't need the server names in the cert if your Exchange urls are configured to a load balanced url. Going forward, you will not be able to get a certificate from 3rd party with internal urls (server fqdn) in it.
When you export the certificate from CAS1, make sure that you include the private key as well (there will be a check box to tick) and import it back on CAS2.
If not, you can just import the certificate into CAS2 by selecting Import Exchange certificate in EMC and select the 3rd party cert (just like you imported on CAS1).
Yes, you need the certificate on both servers, otherwise you will get certificate errors on clients (assuming that there is some form of load balancing in place - NLB or hardware).
