Wrong station plays in internet radio

I click on iTunes and click the icon for internet radio, some stations aren't playing right, I can see the name of the station that comes up, it doesn't match the one I clicked. One is an acoustic rock station but what comes up is something else. The first time it happened was right after an iTunes upgrade, in a previous OS. After awhile I gave up and went directly to the station's site, but I like using the internet radio program because I can get more variety, although I can do that on their site too but it's more fun going to different stations from the iTunes internet radio page. I have the latest iTunes, 12.0.1.26, Os is Yosemite, on a MacBook Pro that's almost 2 years old. I tried downloading iTunes so I could reload it, hoping it would help, but something went wrong. Any ideas?

Thank you. I review it but it does not really seem to have anything to do with my problem.
I have had the exact same content on my site for the past year and it has worked fine in I.E. and others.
Suddendly I.E. is not working with Quicktime and I have made no changes.
It has something to do with Quicktime and iWeb and I.E. interface.
If iweb working with Quicktime in I.E. does not work correctly, I should not need to make code changes, the application will be no longer any use to me and I will no longer use iWeb. This is a compatibility and release (version etc) issue.
Thanks for responding

  • Can you bookmark a station in the Internet radio stream?

I'd like a way to go directly to my favorite stations, rather than having to run through the list each time I load the Internet radio.

Yes you can - select the station and instead of playing hold the selection button down for a few secs to get some options including adding to a favourite list.

  • Add stations to Nokia Internet Radio on 5800?

I have Nokia Internet Radio on my 5800 but it has very few BBC stations - how do I add the rest?

    Hi papadeltasierra,
Thank you for your post. The availability of radio stations available in nokia radio may vary depending on your area. If that list does not include some BBC channels, you can always download BBC iPlayer which has all of them.
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on

  • Pragha: I can't play a streaming internet radio link

I want to play an internet radio from this link: http://loudcity.com/stations/death-fm/
But I keep getting an error "missing Gstreamer plug-in"
I have most of the plug-ins already installed so I don't understand why its not playing. All of my other media will play with no problems, I only have an issue with streaming radio links or .pls files.

Actually I've tried both ways and I get the same error.
Just to be sure... can anyone try that link to see if it works with their Pragha setup?

  • Playing internet radio through airport to my stereo?

I play itunes through airport to my stereo. Can I play my internet radio station through airport?
    Thanks,
    Ernie

I'm curious about this as I am sure I was able to play a radio station streaming through iTunes to my AX the other day. I tried this evening and it didn't work. I was able to play a song ripped by iTunes, and switched back to the streaming radio which did play through my computer speakers, but not to the AX.
I know AX won't play video clips (sound) from iTunes....
So, I think I figured it out- AirTunes will play MPEG based streaming audio through the AX, but will not play streams with "Kind" being QuickTime. Unfortunate that my two favorite stations are both QT streamed audio, and these were the two I kept trying to get to work when I thought the problem was the AX or the stereo it was plugged into.
This also explains why I was getting audio through my computer even when it was not selected in iTunes, it only happens when the QT audio can't play through the AirTunes.
Any further thoughts or work arounds for this?
Funny, I found nothing about this in my searches regarding this problem (other than video clip's audio won't play and require Airfoil).

  • Playing internet radio app on 4S over MB audio system

I have an iPhone 4S and ran an internet radio app on it. Then I connected the phone with the ausio system of my 2011 MB E550. For about 2 seconds I could hear the radio station over the car speakers but then the phone switched to the ipod app. I could not switch back to the radio app neither was I able to stop the playing song on the phone since the desplay would not allow me to actually go into the ipod app while connected to the car audio system.
Why is this and is there a way to make the phone play the internet radio station?
The fact that I heard the radio station for about 2 seconds tells me that it generally is possible but then there must be something in the iphone software which makes it flip to the ipod. Can this be bridged without sacrificing the phone's warranty?

I'm not saying that this is your problem but it could potentially be and needs to be corrected. After making the corrections as stated below test and let us know if things improve.
If your DHCP range is 2 to 254 that means the whole range of addresses can be assigned to dynamically. This can cause problems because you haven't left any addresses available to be assigned statically. You will notice that addresses 90 and 100 are within that range.
Set the DHCP range to 250 to 254. That reserves an range of 50 addresses for use by the DHCP. You don't need to make any changes to the IP addresses of the PC or Express as their addresses will now fall outside the range reserved for DHCP.

  • Internet radio from Apple TV suddenly not working!!! Please help!

I used to be able to put internet radio stations in a playlist and sync to ATV, and they would show up on the ATV and I could select and listen to them! From what I've read on some other forums, after version 2.02 came out, you could even do that and not have your computer on and itunes open, and could still access and listen to the radio stations on ATV! Which is great!
I hadn't tried this in a while and decided to get the 2.02 update and try. Now, when I select the playlist with the radio stations in it (on ATV) I get a message - "contains no songs"!!
Does anybody know what is going on with this feature? It seems to work for some people but not others! Some think that it stopped working for people with itunes 7.6.1 and higher!! (I have 7.6.2 and OSX 10.4.11)
Just when I had a plan on really taking advantage of this feature, it stopped working!
Can anybody help with this topic? Do people from Apple read and answer these posts?
    Thanks,
    SB

Wow! That surprised me! I had already tried something very similar to that, and it didn't work!
What you said works! Thanks so much!
And in addition, playing the internet radio from my ATV (rather than from computer & thru airtunes) seems to work better! Before, (using airtunes), some stations would cut out / skip etc... and it doesn't seem to happen now! And I can now, not even have my computer on!
My understanding is that if I ever turn off the ATV, I'll have to do the procedure that you said again correct?
    Thanks so much again!
It would be nice if Apple could now have the details / info that shows up in itunes when you play a internet radio station (song info etc...) show up on the screen on ATV - right?!!!
(for me, right now - just says: "Proton Radio - unknown album")

  • Mini player does not display tracks internet radio

Hi, i downloaded iTunes 11 a couple of days ago and noticed that the mini player does not display the tracks played on internet radio stations. It keeps displaying the track that was playing when switched from the main screen to the mini player. Anyone around with a solution? All previous iTunes versions that I know displayed the actual information, I have never before had this issue.

Ok, only now found out this is a well known issue, see other posts under "More Like This" on the right hand side of this screen. Really hope Apple solves this as this is clearly an issue for users.

  • Internet radio alarm clock

Is there a way to get the alarm clock to play a internet radio station or a podcast instead of a mp3? I have saved a .RAM of a webstream to my phone but alarm clock does not seem to want to play it.
I think this would be a really good feature and not too hard to implement.

i don't know if this has been brought up before but anyways on the topics of docks...i am getting the bose dock for christmas. but i wish someone would make a cable that would connect your ipod to your dock because i am almost positive that i will need to take my ipod out of its case to put it in the dock. i believe that if i am willing to fork out 300 dollars for an ipod and another 300 for a sound dock that i shouldn't have to take the case off of my ipod to listen to it.

  • Problem in using Nokia E-63 Internet Radio

I am using Nokia E-63, I have installed Internet Radio software on it and it was working fine for the past few days. 2-days back it prompted me for an update, when it was finished I received the following error when I tried playing it:
    "Internet Radio: Feature not supported"
I have tried installing it twice or thrice again but the same problem occurs. Please advice what to do?

  • Internet Radio: auto stream selection

i recently registered my radio station with Nokia Internet Radio. it is available in 3 stream flavors (192kbps/MP3, 128kbps/AAC+, 64kbps/AAC+). all streams have been verified okay upon registration.
i noticed that the Internet Radio player keeps selecting the stream with lowest bitrate (64kbps/AAC+) no matter what connection type i'm using (WiFi, GPRS).
according to the FAQ the player should automatically select higher bitrates when connected over WiFi but that seems not to be the case... any idea why?
also, it would be helpful if anyone could explain to me how the choice between different streams is made in the player in detail (if a station has multiple streams to choose from), e.g. how is the preferred bitrate related to the connection type etc..
    thanks.

on the macbook pro I downloaded windows media player 9 for mac. On my imac I just go to the station click on their listen button and it streams fine, but not on the macbook. the settings on both players are the same.

  • 1st generation ATV internet radio problem

I have the 1st generation Apple TV and I love it except for one problem.  Sometimes when I'm playing the internet radio it just stops and I have to unplug the device and re-start it.  I'm curious if anyone is having this problem with the Apple TV 2?  There aren't going to be anymore software updates to the 1st generation ATV but if the ATV2 works okay I might consider switching.
    Thanks!!!

  • How to use my iPhone 4 to select Internet radio stations on MacBook Pro

Okay, once again I return here to seek guidance and wisdom.  Fellow members here told me about Air Video, a terrific set of programs for iOS and OS X to stream videos from my MacBook Pro to my iPhone 4.  It is awesome!
Now, my other need (?).  I want to run something on my Mac that lets me select Internet radio station streams like TuneIn for ex., but I want to be able to change selections on whatever is on the Mac from the iPhone 4.  What I want to do is use the iPhone 4 as a remote for the app on the Mac which I want to connect to either some external speakers or someday to a real external Dac, amp, and speakers.
I have the TuneIn Pro app on my iPhone 4 already and on the Mac via browser have accessed their website.
Now someone surely is going to mention Airplay or something to stream from the iPhone4.  From the cost of Airplay capable hardware, I just can't afford it yet.  Maybe if I could find Bluetooth speaker or device?
One other thing to throw in for thought.  I have not only iTunes on my MacBook Pro, but also Fidelia and Amarra, and thinking about Decibel or Audirvana.  In other words somewhat hi-def music output quality available on the Mac.  So....I do have a remote app for Fidelia and think there's one for either Decibel or Audirvana, so that brings me back to Internet radio on the MacBook Pro.  If I can find a way to use the iPhone 4 to select an app on the Mac for Internet radio, I can play those plus hi-def music via one of those programs.
I probably didn't say all that right, but I hope you can decipher what I am asking about.
If nothing else, can you recommend inexpensive Bluetooth speakers to play radio from the iPhone4?  I was hoping to buy some AudioEngine powered speakers for the Mac, hence the desire to run all sound/music through that device but using the iPhone4 as control device.

    Hi Starbux48
First off. The benefits of using Amarra, Pure Music, Audirvana or whatever, can only be heard if you have a true audiophile system set-up. Think of systems starting from 5000 U$. Then only if your music files are high resolution. Think ALAC or FLAC, AIFF or Wave.  For all other music playing the itunes set-up suffices. So the better idea for you will be playing the music over your macbook.
Mountain lion offers airplay for intel based macs. You can use this. If you install the free Remote App. on your iPhone, you can use that to control itunes on your Macbook via wifi/Airplay. The remote app offers you the view of itunes on your Macbook and the screen of your Macbook changes with what you do on your iPhone. So you can even control the itunes radiostation from your iPhone.
If you have an older, non-intel macbook, you can install airserver on your macbook. This will set you back 15 dollars or so, but will basically do the same.
