Wrong sys/thread.h shipped in 01/06 Solaris 10 distribution

I downloaded and installed the official Solaris 10 01/06 distribution and tried using the 'ctx' mechanism. The sys/proc.h has the new prototypes for installctx/removectx where a new argument was added. But, sys/thread.h has the old ctxop structure that is missing the new 'exit' member. The shipped sys/thread.h version is 1.146 but the same header in the Opensolaris downloaded sources is rev 1.150 and it does have the corrected ctxop structure. Does anyone know if there is a patch to fix this problem? I could just copy the correct header to the installation but I'm now afraid that there could be other headers in the shipped image that are out of date with the current sources (or with each other).
thanks
Michael

You've downloaded Solaris 10 update 1. The newer revision available from opensolaris is called solaris express and not offically released or supported by Sun, and is a whole major version change from s10u1.
Depends why you're using Solaris 10 update 1. If you're using s10 u1 for anything besides experimenting and discovering the os, then it's not a good idea to replace parts of the os with other newer peices from solaris express.
If you're just looking around discovering how things work, then by all means.
Enjoy,

  • Wrong Shipping Cond. - Sales Doc Vs Invoice Doc

    Dear friends ,
    I solicit your sugessions for the following issue I am facing :
    In a particular sales order , the shipping condition is Road. But in the invoice print for this order , the route is coming as  Air transport. Ideally , if the shipping conditions is as Road in the sales order, it  must be appearing as Road in the Invoice also . But , on what situations , the transport as 'Road' In Sales doc. will be changed in other mode as 'Air Transport' in Invoice doc ?
    I analyzed , I found  in the invoice view VF03 , clicking 'Go to' >Header>Foreign Trade and customs --> , I  can see in the handling tab , the mode of transport is ' Air Transport ' as fig. below. Whether this text may have appeared in the invoice Print out ? But user is not agreeing with this .
    But plainly to put my request , where is the  shipping condition is determined in the Invoice document and how we can control in the output (As Road , Air , Sea etc? )
    Your advice can be of much help ,
    Thanks in advance,
    Karthik

    hi,
    shipping condition - header-general information you can see the shipping condition,
    mode of transportation - for trade/custom
    mode of transport determination = shipping point + plant
    img -- sales and distribution -- transportation data
    i think this will help you

  • What I've learned about iPhone shipping

    I've seen quite a few posts (and threads) about shipping times so I thought I'd just write down my own experience in case others may find it helpful.
    Ordered on 7/27 and originally had a 7/20 ship & 7/23 delivery date. I started checking my status updates last weekend and noticed it had changed to 'Prepared for Shipment' on 7/10. Thus began my obsessive odyssey of rechecking the status whenever and as often as possible. Here's how it all played out; 6 days from that first status change to delivery.

    The Hong Kong and Anchorage stops felt painfully long. Any status updating was very delayed; several hours after the actual event.
    Learned there are different options when it comes to checking package status online.
    http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/r-packageTracker-s-fedex
    http://www.packagetrackr.com/
    Both of those had far more 'real-time' updating on the first half of the journey - all the way to Anchorage thru 'International Shipment Release' status. Strangely, after that the Fedex site was far more real-time than the other options. Maybe that was just my case but I definitely noticed that the other options started lagging behind Fedex official tracking at that point.
    Seemed a few folks didn't get theirs by the estimated delivery date and it seems the more 'sort facilities' your package has to go through after landing at a main FedEx hub (say Indianapolis or Memphis), the worse your chances. Luckily for me, Atlanta is a quick flight from Memphis and one Sort Facility between the Atlanta airport and my delivery address.
    To those waiting on their phones, I will tell you it works great. Haven't had any proximity sensor or reception issues - at least not any different from my experiences with the AT&T network overall which really haven't been great. (Never had a dropped call for years while on Verizon but have always had them happen somewhat regularly on AT&T regardless of type of phone.) Of course, I've only used it for a few hours so we'll see how it goes.
    I previously was using an iPhone 3G and this thing is so, so much faster. Any app responds instantaneously. And when I plug it into my Kenwood car stereo with a built-in USB port it plays music and I'm able to scan through the music just as quickly. That wasn't the case before.
    Good luck all.

    I ordered 2 iPhone 4's from the AT&T Premier site on July 9 (my company has an agreement with AT&T). My credit card company immediately flagged the purchase as possible fraud, so it took a day or two to clear that up. The order went to "Processing" status on the AT&T Premier site on July 12. It stayed in that status until yesterday, July 20, when it changed to a status of "Shipped" and I got an email from AT&T with the FedEx tracking number. FedEx says that the phones shipped from Texas yesterday night and are on schedule to be delivered to me in Connecticut today (July 21). That's only 8 business days and includes the screw up from my credit card company - better than I expected. The "Processing" time probably included the time it took to ship the phones from Apple's factory in China to the AT&T facility in Texas.
    By the way, here's the deal I got from AT&T Premier:
    $38.50 - 550 shared minute plan (1st iPhone)
    $ 9.99 - Additional line (2nd iPhone)
    $19.25 - 2Gb personal data (1st iPhone)
    $19.25 - 2Gb personal data (2nd iPhone)
    $ 0.00 - pay as you go texting

  • INS0009: Unable to connect to the database with user SYS

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to create an OWB repository with OWB repository assistant (10.2.0.2.) on a 10.2.0.1. database (windows XP platform). I get the following error every time I fill in the connect info for the SYS user:
    INS0009: Unable to connect to the database with user SYS. java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
    I can connect to the database (sqlplus sys/<password>@orcl as sysdba) and the OS user is in the ora_dba group. Also checked the database parameters remote_login_passwordfile (= EXCLUSIVE) and O7_DICTIONARY_ACCESSIBILITY=TRUE.
    Does anyone know what the problem is? Any help is appreciated.
    Regards,
    Quinten

    Ok I found the problem myself, I used the wrong sys password :-(. I thought the password I used to logon in sqlplus was right (sqlplus sys/<password>@orcl as sysdba) but the password doesn't matter when you logon as sysdba! So I altered the password for the user sys and now I can continue the steps of the repository assistant.

  • Confusion using Thread.sleep() method

    I tried it in this program

      String name; // name of thread
      Thread t;
      NewThread(String threadname) {
        name = threadname;
        t = new Thread(this, name);
        System.out.println("New thread: " + t);
        t.start(); // Start the thread
      // This is the entry point for thread.
      public void run() {
        try {
          for(int i = 5; i > 0; i--) {
            System.out.println(name + ": " + i);
            Thread.sleep(1000);
        } catch (InterruptedException e) {
          System.out.println(name + "Interrupted");
        System.out.println(name + " exiting.");
    class MultiThreadDemo {
      public static void main(String args[]) {
        new NewThread("One"); // start threads
        new NewThread("Two");
        new NewThread("Three");
        try {
          // wait for other threads to end
          Thread.sleep(10000);
        } catch (InterruptedException e) {
          System.out.println("Main thread Interrupted");
        System.out.println("Main thread exiting.");
    }the output is
    one: 5
    two: 5
    three 5
    delay of 1 second
    one:4
    two: 4
    three: 4
    delay of 1second
    what all i know about sleep() is that it pause the currently executing thread for specified time. hence in above program when first thread runs and prints value 5 then it should get paused for 1 second cause there is Thread.sleep(1000) after println() statement.
    and output should be
    one: 5
    delay of 1 second
    two: 5
    delay of 1 second
    three: 5
    delay of 1 second
    but this is not actually happens. may be i am wrong about Thread.sleep method() or something else.
    would you guys please clear it?
    regards
    san

    Thread.sleep() only sleeps the current thread. As each thread runs concurrently they all print concurrently and all sleep concurrently.

  • How to find Ship to party number for a Sale doc.

    Hi,
    Currently, I have a sale doc number with type ZDR (Debit memo request). Could you please let me know how can I get the ship to party number for that document number.
    In General, Could you please show me how to get ship-to party number for a sale doc with all sale doc type ?
    Thanks,

    Hi Krishna,
    Your answer is correct, I just go to table VBPA pass the sale doc number & choose the partner function as ship to party, then I can get the ship-to-party ID.
    Hi Sandipsinh,
    The KUWEV is the customer master data view that is used in standard T-code. However It is not a table, therefore I can't get data from it.
    Hi  senya_1111,
    You know, with a sale order we have only one sold-to-party. However, we can have several corresponding ship-to-partys.
    Moreover, In table VBAK(Sale order header)  we just have sold-to-party not ship-to-party. That means we can get wrong value in case ship-to-party is not the same as sold-to-party.
    Overall, Thank all of you for your opinion.

  • The number of partner 'Ship-to party' limit is reached ?

    Hi,
    We have reached the maximum number of ‘Ship-to-party’ partners for one Sold-to-party partner.
    Is it possible to exceed 999 partners for Sold-to-party partner ?
    Get-there action was to make possible?
    Thanks in advance for your help

    Within one sales area, you can only maintain 1000 entries for each partner function. The function entered here has exceeded this limit.

    You must delete the appropriate number of old entries before you can make new entries for the partner function concerned.

  • Automatic thread creation?

    Hi,
    While linking a 3rd party library I noticed that my single threaded program was being recognized as multi-threaded by workshop & also the executable had 4 threads running. After some investigation, I realized that this was due to the library having a dependency on pthreads. I was able to duplicate this by writing a c program and linking with either pthreads or threads.
    foo.c:
    main ()
    while (1)
    Compiling & linking this with :
    cc foo.c -lthread
    & executing this :
    a.out &
    Now the "ps -L" command displays 3 threads with only one of the threads running. My question is whether this is normal or can I set any compiler flags/apply any patches to change this behaviour?
    My development environment is Solaris 8 with Forte 6.2
    Thanks,

    The four threads your seeing are :
    The primary thread (The one you expect)
    A ASLWP thread to handle signals
    A reaper thread to clean up detached threads
    An lwp that deals with the kernel
    This is due the the MxN thread model type that Solaris 8 and
    lower has.
    If you use Solaris 9 or use the threads library at /usr/lwp/libthread
    instead of /usr/lib/libthread on Solaris 8, (set your
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH), you will just see the primary thread.
    This is because a one-to-one threading model is used here.
    Solaris 8 actually shipped both thread models.

  • Swing thread safe ?

    Hi
    Are swing comonents are thread safe ?
    If i am not wrong the thread safe objects are those whose data changes are predictable ( i mean no race condition)
    Is this correct ?
    I had worked on multithreaded application in MFC where we used Message queues for hadling the multithreading
    Can i use the same logic in java also ? If yes can anybody help me how can i do it
    Thanks in advance

  • Drawing Thread and join()

    Hi, I need some hints about Threads.
    I have a Thread that does some computations and then draws on a Graphics object.
    I need the main program to wait until the Thread finish its computation.
    If i call:
    myThread.join()
    from the main control flow, it correctly waits but I can't see anything drawn on the screen.
    If I instead don't call join the draw is correct but obviously I don't have a correct execution
    of the program.
    Where am I doing a mistake?

    Ok having read the other thread, I'll try to take a stab at helping you:
    My understanding of the problem: You require a GUI with a button that will start an algorithm (locate) and will paint back progress to the GUI as it goes.
    How to go about doing this:
    You have one thread, the thread that is started when you start your program. We call this the EDT (the Event dispatching thread). The EDT should not be blocked by heavy, lengthy calls, as it is responsible for "refreshing" or repainting the GUI.
    So, when someone clicks your Button, you must:
    -Start a new thread like this (this is from my head, so the code may be wrong) :
      new Thread( new Runnable() {
         public void run() {
           locate();
      }).start();Call this new thread the WORKER thread
    Now, each time you want to update the GUI from your WORKER thread (your algorithm), you need to do two things:
    -change some state of your main running class, to tell the GUI what it should draw next time it's asked. What was suggested in that other post was that you should maintain a list of "steps" in a Collection of some sort.
    -prompt the main container that your drawing to to redraw, using repaint() or something (sorry, it's been years since I've used Swing or AWT).
    So, your WORKER thread updates the abstract model of what your GUI SHOULD show, but when your WORKER calls repaint(), the EDT prompts your class to redraw.
    As for general concepts with threads, I'll give you one example of how to handle things asynchronously. Say you had this simple Java snippet:
    public void someMethod()
      doSomethingBefore();
      doSomethingLengthy();
      doSomethingAfter();
    }And you wanted to doSomethingLengthy in a separate thread. You would use something that we call "callbacks". This implements a callback using the Runnable interface:
    public void someMethod()
      doSomethingBefore();
      final Runnable callback = new Runnable() {
         public void run() {
            doSomethingAfter();
      new Thread( new Runnable() {
         public void run() {
           doSomethingLengthy();
           callback.run();
      }.start();
    }So what's the execution look like?
    Thread1 executes someMethod()
    Thread1 executes doSomethingBefore()
    Thread1 starts Thread2 and then immediatly exits someMethod()
    Thread2 executes doSomethingLengthy()
    Thread2 executes callback.run()
    Thread2 executes doSomethingAfter()

  • Accessing user_tables from sys

    Hi,
    I want to access the user_tables of schema scott from sys. I am using 10gR2 on Solaris. Actually I want to check the last_analyzed and row_num columns of that schema but doesn't know the password of scott and dont want to alter it.
    regards

    Alsol, you can keep the current "SCOTT" user's password encripted, change it and restore it after you're done:
    SELECT PASSWORD from DBA_USERS where USERNAME='SCOTT';
    (Last query, will give you the encripted password of the user)
    alter user SCOTT IDENTIFIED by MYNEWPASS;
    sqlplus SCOTT/MYNEWPASS;
    whathever you have to do... and quit
    ALTER USER SCOTT IDENTIFIED BY VALUES 'THE_OLD_ENCRIPTED_PASSWORD';

    Thanks alot for your reply. It is a web application
    using java and tomcat server. And the problem is that
    sometime when I click on a button or a link than the
    CPU goes to 100% and it hangs but normally it works
    smoothly without any problem.This often indicates a busy retry loop somewhere. You need to acquire the thread dump when the problem occurs, but be warned that depending on the problem it may not be possible to obtain a Java-level thread dump. In that case you need to try and take an OS level thread dump - eg using pstack on solaris/linux (and there's some win32 tool as well if I recall correctly).

    THANKS AND REGARDS,

    Hi,
    you can check on the LSMW being used for customer master creation, the fields what you had mentioned are normal fields and will be available in the standard batch / direct input under the object 0050 & program name RFBIDE00.
    just map the excel fields with the fields indicated in the LSMW.
    for step by step procedure on using LSMW, check below
    http://www.scmexpertonline.com/downloads/SCM_LSMW_StepsOnWeb.doc
    in this example on page 3 Batch input recording is used, you can use Standard Batch / direct input with the parameters i had given earlier.
    Thanks & Regards
    Ilango
