Wrong version 9i JDBC Driver 9.2.0.1 (now 9.0.2.0) on the download page?

Dear Webmaster,
The Manifest.mf file in the JDBC 9.2.0.1 package declares that the driver is 9.0.2.0.
Could it be that this package contains an older version (9.0.2.0) of the JDBC Driver?

if timeouts don't work -> "Houston, we have a problem".
So, can anyone confirm that connection timeouts do work?

Regardless of whether the user utilizes the check for updates features or downloads the update from Apples website, the same process is followed. The existing version of iTunes is uninstalled and the new version of iTunes is installed.

New version of jdbc driver

Hi JDBC Dev. Team,
I heard a rumour recently that Oracle are going to employ programmers from Sun to rewrite the JDBC implementation - is this true?
Also, when will the JDBC implementation be reduced to an acceptable size (<500Kb)?

Pity that the rumour has no foundation. Thanks for the quick response though. I appreciate that.
As for the size, well, from the very start Oracle has made mention of the fact that their JDBC driver was small enough to be downloaded by an applet (see original JDBC documentation which apparently hasn't been updated in lieu of the new MEGA sized JDBC driver).
I, of course, want to use it with applets/applications as I am a firm believer that HTML interfaces are insufficient and that people will return to Java GUI's. Given that Java has a fantastic GUI API it is logical that people will want to make use of it in the future. I do, that's for sure. However, it is not an option to download a 1.7 Mb JDBC driver in an applet - it is really rather exhorbitant! Would be interesting to hear what ORacle themselves think of their JDBC driver.
Anyway, I will either have to use RMI/CORBA or someone else's JDBC driver...

HT202879 recently saved a Pages document to Dropbox. Now I cannot open it in the new Pages app, and I cannot use the previous Pages version to open it. Attempting to open the document gives me a flash of a page and then the program crashes. Anybody have a

I can go to Time Machine and find the document, even read it in Time Machine, but when I try to restore this version I get the same crash. I cannot open with Text or RTF. Preview opens a fuzzy version and can save out as a .PDF, but when I try to convert the .PDF to Word I get a bunch of unusual characters. Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated

OK, I've tried all these tips. Here's what I finally have to do: I open Time Machine. I click on the Pages file and open the Pages file in the Time Machine window. (Restore does not work; nothing works).
When the Pages file opens, I begin taking screenshots using shift-command-3. I take shots of all 200+ pages of this document. The screenshots are saved to my desktop.
I then move all 200+ screenshots into one folder, because, face it, that's too many icons to work with on one desktop screen.
Then I select all the screenshots in the folder at once and open them all in Preview. Then I crop every screenshot using command-K, and save using command-S, and then close that image using command-W.
When I have cropped all 200+ screenshots, I go back through the folder one by one and adjust the color on each one, moving the mid-range color up to about 75% and the sharpness filter up to about 75%, in order to compensate for the fuzzy image of the screenshot. You can't create a searchable PDF with an image that fuzzy. I do this one by one.
I make sure everything is saved.
Then I open all 200+ edited screenshots in Preview and print them out.
Then I take the 200+ pages of this ****** Pages file and run them through my scanner, making searchable 600 dpi PDFs.
Then I go to each of the 200+ PDFs and highlight the text, copy, and paste into a NEW word processing document.
If I'd had 300 pages like the last manuscript, or 700 pages like the one before that, I would have created an Automator program to do all that, but hey, this is not the kind of **** you expect from Apple. Really. It's taken all week.
So thanks for your help guys, but no other suggestions worked. I tried to force a download of the file from Dropbox, but got the same result. Besides, my Dropbox folder is saved locally on my harddrive, so it's not their fault. In fact, there is no data in the Dropbox folder under this file name, only preview files. Somehow the Time Machine will open the complete Pages file while in Time Macine, but will not import the saved Time Machine version to the working desktop because it is a preview (i.e., not Preview) image. This is a Pages problem, not a Dropbox problem. Pages did not save the full file.
If anybody knows a better way to do this, I'd like to know about it. If anybody knows whether I will ever be able to trust Pages again, I'd like to know that too.

II downloaded the OS X version 10.9 and my iPhoto version 9.2.3 will n.ot open. I get a message that I can't use this version of the application I photo with this version of OSX. What do I do now and how do I get the photos out of the old version?

Check the "Purchases" page in the Mac App Store and see if there is a more recent version there already waiting for you.

I have a new Mac OS X Version 10.6.7. When trying to dowload Firefox updates, it wont comlplete the download, that is it simply runs and runs and runs!!

When the offer to update Firefox appears when I open Firefox, I accept the offer, but then the download will not complete itself.
Apple have told me they cannot support me as it is Firefox and not Safari.

If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

* Install the new version that you have downloaded
Your profile data is stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder], so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data.

You should be able to download a compatible version. If the iBooks app isn't already in your purchase history thet download the current version on your computer's iTunes so that the app is in it. Then on your iPad go to the Purchased tab in the App Store app and see if you can download an older compatible version of it

I am trying to re load Lightroom 5.7 frommy outside hard drive to my new hard drive . I am able to reach a certain point in the download and I am then asked for the access code which I do not have. I had upgraded on line from Lightroom3.

I just had the hard drive on my computer replaced, and the Lightroom5.7 and Photoshop cannot be sent over from the outside hard drive without an access code!! Now what do I do? Will Adobe have a record of my Lightroom3 download and my 5.7 upgrade?

If you took the time to register your software on the Adobe web site, then you can log on and retrieve your serial numbers.
Find your serial number quickly
You ought to be able to retrieve the serial numbers from your first hard drive ... that requires knowing what your operating system is and if the first hard drive actually is readable.
And if none of that works ... well then I think you're way out of luck.
Might I suggest you adopt a new method of keeping track of your serial numbers, not just for Lightroom but all of your software? I suggest you create a computer text file named serialnumbers.txt, containing all of your serial numbers, stored on your computer and in a cloud backup service (like DropBox which is free) so that you will never lose it.

How do I install an earlier version of firefox than the download page recommends?

I have a new PC and need to be able to use the delicious bookmark add-on for work. I loaded firefox 4 and the bookmark doesn't work so I need to load an earlier version and can't figure out how....only see an option to install firefox 4.

If you check with Delicious they may be able to indicate when they will update their add-on for Firefox 4.
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6.* you can uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install Firefox 3.6.* available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

I have just installed Family Tree Maker 2012. It recommends use of Firefox 3.6, but that doesn't seem to be available from the download page. Is there any way to get this version?

I currently use Chrome as my web browser and am not able to access the Ancestry.com website using it. Every attempt to sync my records fails and the manual suggests use of Internet Explorer or Firefox 3.6 However, the current download available is not 3.6 but appears to be Version 8...? (based on the first question on the Contact Us screen, which relates to having upgraded from 3.6)

I started a download of a Movie to rent on my iPad using a mobile hotspot. The HD version is taking longer to load than I have time. Can I stop the download to the iPad and rather downdoad a standard version to my Windows Vista machine?

I think your best bet here is to contact the app developer. Sounds like you need advanced troubleshooting that someone who is a part of the app would know best how to resolve. Best of luck.
