Wrong version of OS X shipped

I bought a refurbished MacBook Pro (early 2009 model) and it came preinstalled with OS X 6.2.
Last month, the hard disk failed and I had to replace it. I reinstalled the OS from the discs that came in the box, but they're only 10.5.6.
I want to upgrade to Lion but I'm told I have to buy 10.6 (Snow Leopard) first.
As far as I'm concerned, I already own Snow Leopard.
Has anyone else come across this? Is there a way I can find out what I'm entitled to? The purchase history on the support site only goes back 18 months and I bought a little more than that ago.
Thanks

Try take it in to the apple store to go plea your case, I can't see any other way around it...otherwise, you will have to just go and purchase lion and install from scratch and then restore your work from a back up. Good luck :)

    Of course I can't throw it away since I get a message it's part of the sytem. I can show package contents and throw those away, but evidently not a good idea!!

  • Error while receivind a pdu - wrong version  grrr

    Hi,
    I work on Solaris 8.0 and I installed SDK toolkit. I wrote my own subagent starting with the demoAgent into the toolkit.
    I created X.acl and X.reg
    Also, I configured into snmpdx.acl my traps exactly like I did into my X.acl
    I started snmpdx in debug mode (-d 4) and from another window I started my subagent X
    I receive this error from snmpdx agent:
    error while receiving a pdu from hostname.164: The message has a wrong version (2)SESSIONS:
    Where hostname is the name of my hostname hehe.
    Any clues?

  • Buying the wrong version of a song.

    Buying the wrong version of a song.  Is it final transaction? can this mistake be undone or better yet corrected?
    There is this song called "gotas de lluvia" by a group "los diablos locos" which i found on youtube.  I could have captured it & had a copy that way but i wanted to support this new & upcoming band.  So i purchased the song however i was expecting a "salsa" version instead i got a "cumbia" version of it.  I went back to itunes and looked over at the store info to see if i somehow over read or misread anything.  However there is no way of telling one song version over the next, & itunes doesnt offer a way to sample the song before you purchase it.  I cant seem to find any cusmomer care i can call to correct this problem instead i can only post this question and hope someone can respond with a solution.  In the meantime i have lost faith in the current purchasing process of music and because i cant read or tell the difference between songs ill hate to buy two versions of the same song in order to find the one im looking for.  Or worst buy the same song twice.  Am i entitled for a refund or credit?
    My friend says that is itunes' way of tricking customers to buying multiple songs, but i hate to think so sinicle.  Can someone please tell me different?

    No.
    BTW,  Your question has nothing to do with itunes U - the place where Universities, museums and colleges post educational material.

  • I downloaded the wrong version of a movie HD instead of SD, can I return it without having to purchase another copy?

    Over the weekend I purchased a movie through iTunes, unfortunately the format I meant to purchase was SD and not HD, Unfortunately I purchased the wrong version, and would like to "return" it if possible.  I intend to watch it on a larger screen that doe not support HD formatting.
    Does anyone know of a way to do this?

    iTunes: Purchasing and viewing HD videos - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3209 - "When you purchase an HD video on a supported device or computer, only HD video will be downloaded. To download the SD version, you need to download the video again from your Purchased page."  Other details about which formats are downloaded and when.
    To set to download to HD:  Preferences > Store > change your preferred HD format to 1080p.
    To download as SD uncheck "Download HD when available"

  • I do not have the ability to edit my .pdf once converted into a word document. Did I purchase the wrong version?

    When I covert my pdf into a word document it does not allow me to edit the actual text. I can add random text to the document, not following the format of the document (not aligned, not the same font, etc.). I can add text, but I cannot what is already in a sentence or paragraph.
    Did I purchase the wrong version?
    Thanks,
    Cindy.

    Hi cindyjay,
    You have the right tool for converting PDF files to Word. For starters, please try triple-clicking in the text block that you want to edit. If that doesn't work, we'll need to take a closer look at how the PDF that you converted was created (did it start out as a scanned document, for example). If it did start as a scanned document, it's important that OCR (optical character recognition) was performed during conversion to convert scanned text to editable text. OCR is on by default when you convert via the ExportPDF website, but can be turned off if you convert via Reader.
    If triple-clicking doesn't work, let me know, and then we'll take a closer look at your file.
    Best,
    Sara

    Did you uninstall 1.3 completely? Completely in the sense both jdk and jre.
    You may get this error if you use javac of one version and the rt.jar of another version.

    Hi Gurus,
    I think I found the answer.
    I downloaded wrong version of weblogic
    I had linux 32 , and wanted weblogic 10.3.3, So I went here ( row 3 , column 2)
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/wls-main-097127.html
    file name = wls1033_dev.zip
    well I was wrong it was not 10.3.3 or something was wrong. SOA installer did not recognise it as 10.3.3.
    Who is to blame. I wasted 3 days I hope Oracle keeps right versions in its website for download.
    I got the right one from edelievry
    http://edelivery.oracle.com/EPD/Download/get_form?egroup_aru_number=11493750
    and download =
    Download      Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.3) for Linux x86      V21014-01      703M
    Hope this helps some one.
    Thanks!

    You can't use 1.5.0 in JB5. I think you need JB2004 at least.

    If you ordered Acrobat via subscription, then you can use either Windows or Mac version.  Just download/install the Mac version, then activate it with your Adobe ID.
    If you purchased the perpetual license, then you need to Contact Customer Care bu chat or phone.

  • Wrong version of an entity bean object being updated

    We are having a problem with an entity bean that uses bean managed persistence. The "order" entity bean has
    been used as part of our Order Routing System for the last 2 years with no problems. The entity bean is
    accessed via calls from a "Order Manager" session bean. No change has been done to the entity bean but the
    frequency of calls from the session bean to update the entity bean have increased significantly.
    The "order" entity bean wraps an Order object that contains order properties (i.e. id, quantity, price,
    version, etc). The entity bean has a "void setOrder(Order param)" function that writes the Order to a database
    and a "Order getOrder()" function that clones and returns the internal Order object. The "ejbLoad()" function
    reads the Order object from the database and the "ejbStore()" function is not implemented.
    The "OrderEntityPK ejbFindByPrimaryKey()" function checks if the order entity primary key (an "int") exists
    on the database.
    We are using the SilverStream 3.5 application server as our EJB container. According to the SilverStream manual
    it does not maintain a pool of idle/unused entity beans, instead it instantiates beans as requested.
    Our problem is:
    1) The wrong version of the entity object is sometimes being updated (i.e. an old instance of the order entity is being
    picked up and updated on the database).
    2) We sometimes get a TransactionRequired exception thrown when we have concurrent updates to two different
    objects of the entity bean.
    Any idea as to what our problem could be?
    Thanks in advance for your help,
    The following are the main code snippets:
    Original Code
    Session Bean A
    Method 1 --- gets entity Bean B and calls a method on a different object passing this entity bean
              in as a parameter to enable a method on this bean to be called.
    EntityBean lOrderEntity = findOrderEntity(callerUnixLogin, currOrderId);
                   currOrder = lOrderEntity.getOrder();
                   //Logic to update the currOrder object via a method call.
                   persistManager.persistOrder(lOrderEntity, callerUnixLogin, currOrder, psTransactionType);
         persistManager.persistOrder Method:
                   lOrderEntity.setOrder(callerUnixLogin, order);
         findOrderEntity method:
    OrderEntity lOrderEntity = null;
              OrderEntityBeanPK orderPK = new OrderEntityBeanPK(orderId);
              try
                   if (orderEntityHome == null)
                        connectToOrderEntityBean(callerUnixLogin);
                   lOrderEntity = orderEntityHome.findByPrimaryKey(orderPK);
              ... etc
    Current Code
    Session Bean C
    Method 2 ---- calls method 1 in Session Bean A
    Calls to method 2 above happens in quick succession.
    OrderEntityBean class
    ... important methods ...
         private Order order = null;
         public OrderEntityBeanPK ejbFindByPrimaryKey(OrderEntityBeanPK primaryKey)
              throws FinderException, RemoteException, DBOException
              try
                   orderObjectManager.orderIdExists(primaryKey.orderId);
              catch (OMOrderValidationException exc)
                   throw new FinderException(exc.getMessage());
              return primaryKey;
         public void setOrder(String userUnixLogin, Order newOrder)
              throws EJBException, RemoteException, DBOException, OMFormattingException, OMOrderValidationException
              callerUnixLogin = userUnixLogin;
              int version = newOrder.getOrderVersion().intValue();
              if (order.getOrderVersion().intValue() == version)
                   order = null;
                   order = newOrder;
                   Integer newVersion = new Integer(version + 1);
                   order.setOrderVersion(newVersion);
                   newVersion = null;
                   order.setSysUser(callerUnixLogin);
                   orderObjectManager.updateOrder(callerUnixLogin, order);
              else
                   Debug.Print(userUnixLogin, "OrderEntityBean.setOrder: wrong version number for order " + newOrder.getOrdId() +
                        ": expected " + order.getOrderVersion() + " and got " + newOrder.getOrderVersion(), 0);
                   throw new OMOrderValidationException("wrongVersion", order, order.getOrdId(), IName.Order.VERSION, newOrder.getOrderVersion());
         public Order getOrder()
              throws EJBException, RemoteException
    return ((Order)order.clone());
    The following transactions exists for the entity bean ...
    Required:
         create and setOrder methods
    Not Supported
         findByPrimary and getOrder methods

    "The entity bean has a "void setOrder(Order param)" function that writes the Order to a database"
    This functionality should be performed in the ejbStore method().
    "a "Order getOrder()" function that clones and returns the internal Order object."
    Sounds reasonable, except for the cloning part.
    "The "ejbLoad()" function reads the Order object from the database"
    Cool.
    ""ejbStore()" function is not implemented."
    Whoops. Looks like your setOrder method is doing too much. It should do the inverse of getOrder (namely, setting the interal Order object), nothing more. Defer the persistence code to the ejbStore method.
    "According to the SilverStream manual it does not maintain a pool of idle/unused entity beans, instead it instantiates beans as requested."
    Manual? What's that? Assuming that is correct, better hope you don't ever get a high load. You might wanna look into JBoss.
    "2) We sometimes get a TransactionRequired exception thrown when we have concurrent updates to two different objects of the entity bean."
    How can you have concurrent access to two different objects?? Concurrency is inherently applicable to only one object.
    In summary:
    Write your beans properly, ejbLoad populates the bean with data, ejbStore persists the bean's data.
    Get a better (and possibly free) appserver.

  • Adobe Updater doesn't find updates, wrong version, hangs

    I have the full CS5. When I first installed, updater found a number of updates, and recently, it notified me of the update to Photoshop, so it was working.
    I just ran Updater after installing Acrobat, and it did not find any updates, even though there is an update for Flash Builder, which I ended up downloading manually. Additionally, it has the old interface, and offered to check for "All CS4 applications." Umm, wrong version. Now, the Updater icon sits in my Dock and won't quit.

    The Acrobat update mechanism is different from that of CS5 products. Did you try a "Help --> Check for updates" from with any CS5 App ?
