Wrong widget- and anchorpositions in Safari 6

I created a website and i tested it on Safari 6.
In editor mode I had to place widgets a bit higher than it will displayed in Safari 6. The pics from the widget is on top of the text.
(Editormode)
(in Safari 6)
When I publish my site and open it with firefox, the pic from the widgets are exactly in this position I placed them in editormode.
How can I get rid of that problem?
Anchor links scroll to different positions in Safari compared to Firefox aswell.
Is there a chance to use widgets and anchor links, which work on any browsers?
Thank you!

Launch the Font Book application and validate all fonts. You must select the fonts in order to validate them. See the built-in help and this support article for instructions. If Font Book finds any issues, resolve them.
From the application's menu bar, select
File ▹ Restore Standard Fonts...
You'll be prompted to confirm, and then to enter your administrator login password.
Boot in safe mode to rebuild the font caches. Boot again as usual and test.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. In that case, ask for instructions.
Also note that if you deactivate or remove any built-in fonts, for instance by using a third-party font manager, the system may become unstable.

  • Widget acts strangely in Safari, but okay in MSIE and Firefox

This may be asking a lot from iWeb, but I've written a small Javascript calculator widget and inserted it into a page as an HTML snippet. It has several text entry fields. The strange thing that is happening in Safari is that if the cursor is in one of the text fields and the user hits the enter/return key, Safari will load a new page consisting of the the widget only. Other than this return/enter key problem, the widget performs perfectly. And there are no problems at all in Firefox or Internet Explorer. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I'm using Safari Version 3.1.2.
Here is a link to the problem page:
    http://electronbunker.sasktelwebsite.net/BandspreadCalc.html

I resolved the problem. (Or, more correctly, someone on a javascript forum resolved it for me.) Apparently, Safari was attempting to submit the form when the enter key was pressed, whereas the other browsers don't do this. To fix the problem the form tag had to be revised
    from this:
    <form>
    To this:
    <form onsubmit="return false">

  • Google Voice Widget Not Working in Safari 5.1 which is Adobe flash wmode transparent based

Google Voice Widget Not Working in Safari 5.1 which is Adobe flash with wmode transparent set. For that matter all flash text fields in Safari 5.1 are not working accross the web when wmode is set to transparent. This is a Safari bug! Other browsers work fine.
Well after much research Adobe flash text field with wmode transparent set is not working in Safari 5.1 when any flash object has the wmode set to "transparent", or "opaque". The problem is many site must layer flash objects with html so the wmode transparent must be used.
Affecting sites like BEST BUY, WALMART, CVS, STAPLES, Chechout their flash based weekly ads and find one that you need to update the quantity in the flash pop-up and the text field with keyboard strokes will not work. Flash text fields were all working fine until several month ago when Safari rolled out 5.1 working for Google Voice Flash based widget which uses the wmode transparent. HELP!

If not working for you, try clearing your cache to remove any old, non working versions.
Test on some other machine besides yours.
Code looks fine and seems to work.

  • Firefox for Mac preferences shows .qif file format for quicken as "quicktime image format"-wrong application and won't let me select anything else

    Post to Firefox forum; Oct.2011
Re: Quicken 2007; Mac OS 10.5
Problem: can’t import or download Qif format files into quicken from bofa or Chase. Mac can’t recognize; how do I set preferences in Firefox (or Safari).
    https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/new?product=desktop&category=d1&search=Firefox+for+Mac+preferences+shows+.qif+file+format+for+quicken+as+%22quicktime+image+format%22-wrong+application+and+won%27t+let+me+select+anything+else&showform=1
    Hello,
I previously used Firefox on my old Mac G4 with OS 10.3.9; the above issue existed with that system and Firefox 2.00.2 (or similar). I then "tried" to move to a G5 Mac with OS 10.5, hoping that an updated Mac Operating system and updating Firefox would solve that problem.
I'm now working on my son's MacBook Pro, OS 10.5.8, 2.4 ghz Intel Core 2 Duo; 2gb Memory; 2 gb 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM.
I still have a problem in Firefox Preferences trying to download .qif files. BofA Mortgage accounts only allow downloading of .qif files. My .qfx download works fine, but the error message is as follows:
The error message is that this is a corrupted file or one that Preview doesn't recognize.
and it is still a problem when trying to download Quicken .qif format files for our B of A mortgage.
The preferences for Firefox under File Helpers won't let me name the extension I want; instead, it CONFUSES .qif (Quicken Interchange Format) with .qtif (Quicktime Image Format) for Mac.
Therefore, when I download .qif files and try to import them to Quicken, I get a message that this is a corrupted file:
    thanks for any help.
    Val in Seattle

Well, in the end, I just gave up and deleted the photos, in the hope that it was something to do with them. Took some more photos and they seem to have imported without any problems at all.
Given that the same irksome photos loaded on the wife's macbook without so much as a murmur, how weird is that?
Still- all's well that ends well. Thanks for the suggestions- much appreciated.

  • Unable to view google and facebook in safari

Unable to view google and facebook in safari on ios 7.0.3 on my ipad mini. The page is trying to reload repeatedly and chrome browser is written on the tab where google/Facebook should be.

I am not sure of the reasons but that is the normal
appearance in Safari, at least it is what I have seen. I think the
issue is how Safari handles things rather than what RoboHelp
    produces.
In looking at other help products before going for RoboHelp,
did you download some trial versions of other products and have you
    checked their output in Safari?
Maybe someone with more knowledge of Safari can comment?
For what it may be worth, only 1.3% of the visitors to my
site use Safari so that wouldn't upset me too much. Of course the
percentage may be different and more important for you. I suspect
Safari users are used to such things.
Right or wrong, IE and Firefox are the biggies.

  • Is there a way for F12 to pop up Widgets and not open apps?

I'm a brand new Mac user with a MacBook. Before I bring up my Widgets I like to clear the screen by using the F11 button. But when I use F12 to bring up my Widgits, it also brings up any open programs behind it such as Safari. It's a little distracting. Is there a way to bring up just the Widgets and not the other apps? Thanks!

    Hi Tiffany:
    You are welcome.
Ask again, if you have questions.
IMHO, these are the best on-line forums anywhere - and everyone is a volunteer!
I have a little boat that I use to float Wintel boxes down to San Francisco Bay - I light them - it is sort of like a Viking funeral (chuckle).
You will find that even if you need to use a Wintel box in a business setting, you will quickly find that Macs (and OS X) are superior in every way (I do not work for Apple, by the by).

  • Dashboard Widgets and Opening Apps

Hi, I'm having a hard time with my Dashboard Widgets and opening applications.
With my Dashboard Widgets, I can't click on the "more info" button. So if I put a clock Widget on my Dashboard, I can't change the region since I can't click on the "i" button. Is there anything you can think of as to why this would happen?
Also, whenever I open an application, it always loads in the background, keeping my current app in the foreground. Usually when I open an app, it loads in the foreground over my current app. For example, if I have Finder active and I click on Safari, Finder is still active and Safari loads in the background (inactive). I have to click on Safari to make it appear in the foreground and it's kind of annoying.
I really don't want to do a clean installation of Snow Leopard since that takes a good chuck of time to do. I tried repairing my disk permissions and reinstalled Snow Leopard using the installation disc to see if it would fix important system files but even after that my Dashboard Widgets and app opening problems exist.
Thanks for any suggestions and help you guys can provide.

Does anyone else have this problem? I've done a virus scan using Sophos Anti-Virus and nothing comes up.

  • Gmail widget and now iDisk???

Someone help please! I'm trying to find/fix my gmail widget and now I think I screwed up whatever the iDisk is. I don't know when my gmail widget stopped working but from the post regarding the widget problems after updating to 10.4.3 it might have been around that time. It won't show any number in the star at all (indicating new mails in the inbox). Before, if it was having trouble it would at least show two small dashes to indicate it was at least trying to access the mail box. Now it's just a blank star.
So I was looking in the finder for a folder based on one of the feedback instructions to get the widget working and clicked on iDisk and a box popped up about something changing and that if I click to "Change All" it would affect passwords etc. so I figured I should click on "Don't Change" but that seems to have been wrong. Now if you click on iDisk it says "The volume for 'iDisk' cannot be found." What in the world did I do and what is that anyway?
I'm so frustrated! I just wanted the widget to work again!

helodriver, I'm not familiar with the dashboard widget you had. I had one also "flures" that I ditched in favor of Email Notifier It is a toolbar icon that works a treat. Just download it, put it in your applications folder & doubleclick to launch.

  • Made a widget, and it is installed, but....

Alright, I made a widget, and I installed it. But you know how right after you say install, it will open dashboard, and ask if you want to keep it there? it didn't. The icon shows, but when I click on it to select the widget so that it appears on my screen it won't. It will flash as if somethings wrong. Any suggestions on what I could have done wrong?
PowerMac G5 quad   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   New at making widgets

Okay, I figured this one out after many "trial and error" attempts. Make sure your background image is saved as a .png, and not any other format. Also, make sure your HTML or XTML is used correctly. That should do it. It did it for me.

  • Widgets and iWeb

I added a video through a widget and now I've removed the widget but the facebook video still shows up. Any ideas on how to get rid of it? All my other pages that I edited have uploaded fine except this one.  The facebook video wouldn't allow anyone except me to view it so I've deleted it and added the video through the media tools. I update my welcome page everytime I make a change and that has made the new changes, but the page that included the widget is still not "new".

but the facebook video still shows up.
Where are you seeing the old YouTube video?  In the browser? If so clear your browser's cache (Command+Option+E for Safari) and reload the page.

  • Widgets and managed users

    Hello,
I am running a school computer lab and I would like to have some of my student logins have access to widgets, while others do not need access to them. The ones I DONT want access to widgets, I simply disallow the button click on the mouse and the F12 function key for the dashboard.
The biggest mystery to me right now is that on some logins on some computers, widgets work. On others, even with mouse and F12 access, they dont. All my users (other than myself) are managed. Apparently I have clicked the wrong thing on some of them, the right in others.....
So here is my question: How much restriction can I give an account and still let it use widgets? Can a user with Simple Finder use widgets? Or do they have to have some privilages? What do I have to do to get a consistant access to widgets across all computers?
    thanks....

WGM is far more granular than the built-in controls. It's actually obscenely powerful once you really learn what you're doing with it.
The parental controls aren't built for this kind of operation. Why they aren't... well that you have to ask Apple. They're far better in 10.5.
You'll want to actually remove the settings you've created before you work with WGM.
Create groups (like "widgets" and "nowidgets"), then create settings for those groups. Put your users in the groups. Don't make settings for specific users if you can help it.

If it's showing the red disabled screen due to incorrect passcodes then you may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the iPad via your computer's iTunes and restore/resync your content to it

  • How can you change the Itunes library? I updated it, and chose the wrong library, and now I can't change it helppppppp pleasee!!! D: ;(

This *****! I updated my Itunes, and it asked me to choose a library, and I chose the wrong one, and now I can't change it. What am I supposed to do now?

Firstly, I caution your approach to allow users to alter the orientation of the report. Crystal Reports doesn't adapt too well when the orientation is modified. You'll end up with fields dropped off on the right hand side of the report, or with a large gap on the right. Our engine doesn't do any auto adjusting of fields when you alter the orientation.
In order to see the changes it is best to re-load the page and get a new viewer. You can choose to store the ParameterFields in a Session variable for re-use on the post back so your users aren't re-prompted for values.

Spotlight lists items and shows preview images.  BUT what about showing the path/location address of an item in my computer.
Especially important if I've put the item in the wrong folder and what to locate it without multi-steps. iMac OS X 10.5 was more useful.
Old OSX Spotlight function automatically displayed path/location within the machine:  e.g. desktop/folder/sub-folder/item.
Can I make Spotlight show the path?

Press option-command and the path is displayed at the bottom of the little preview window.  Press command-return and the enclosing folder opens.
