WRT 160N: Internet Dropping one of two New Toshiba (Windows 7) Laptops.

Can anyone shed any light as to why I would be losing my internet connection on one labtop, while I have 2 others (along with a desktop) and two iphones that continously hold their connections?  The desktop is running Windows Vista, one laptop is running XP and the two new Toshiba laptops are running Windows 7. 
I have had this Cicsco Linksys (WRT 160N) router for about a year and it's been fine and all the connections hold just fine, until I bought my newest laptop 2 weeks ago.  It connects into the router just fine and holds the connection at times, but most of the time I'll get to the first website and then when I change it will get hung up and say it's not able to connect. 
I would think that if it was an issue with the router maxing out (is there a maximum # of laptops that can be linked into the router?)  that I would have issues with all components and not just this Toshiba L675 laptop.  It show's that I'm connected to the router all the time, it just indicates in the network icon that it has "No Internet" until I refresh it.  I obviously want to refresh every 10 seconds and sometimes that doesn't even work.
Any suggestions, as I'm seriously thinking about taking the laptop back, but I don't really think it's the laptop.

Check for the model number of the Wireless Network Adapter of your Toshiba Laptop, If required try to update the wireless network adapter drivers and then check if you face the same problem or not.
On your Toshiba Laptop, under the wireless network adapter properties, Uncheck "QoS Packet Scheduler" "TCP/IPv6" and then try to connect to your wireless network again and then check .

    A lot of people have found this works for them:
    Settings/General/Date and Time   Turn OFF Set Automatically
    Set the date to several years in the future
    Try to update again - you will get a different error message
    Go back and turn ON Set Automatically

  • On starting my new Mac Book pro, i have 3 i have three names, my lion one and two from my windows laptop. Can i amalgamate these into one name only.?

    The first time i booted my new Mac i created a password, then i transfered my files etc from my windows laptop, all welland good.
    Now i find that i have three names including the lion to sign in to access my computer.
    Is there a way to amalgamate the two from windows PC with my Mac password.?
    I am finding it a bit hard to move over to my Mac but i will pesevere, Thank you.

    Few are having this problem.
    There is no single sure shot solution for this problem.
    Apple may or may not provide an update to correct this.
    Until then manually connecting to wifi may be the only way.

    Yes it is, if you have updated your Mac to use AirPort Utility 6.2 and both the AirPort Extreme and AirPort Express have been updated to use version 7.6.3 firmware.

    You can go to Settings > Itunes & App Stores > Apple ID to check to see that your new ID is set here. If not, you can tap on the Apple ID to Sign out, then Sign in with your new ID and it should automatically pop it up when you try to download/but things in the App Store on your device.

    Hi, I HATE to ask for help with this, but I HAVE looked everywhere and Google searched different wordings and have not found anything similar nor a solution to my problem!                                                                                                                                                                                                                               My good old iPod 4th-gen charges just fine in any wall outlet, in any house, but when I connect it to my brand new ASUS laptop that has Windows-8 and 3.0 USB ports using the charging/data cable, the charging process just keeps "blinking" BOTH the iPod and the laptop and it will not connect to ITunes and I get "A Device is Detected" message that keeps popping up and going away over and over right above the Windows desktop toolbar.                                                               When I go to control panel and select "Devices" it does show the iPod, but for only a split second and than it disappears, but than it comes back again for a split second and than it disappears again and just keeps doing that over and over and over!                                                                                                                  I have tried resetting the iPod while it is plugged into the laptop by holding the power and menu buttons, that did no good.                                                             I also tried uninstalling iTunes and any other Apple stuff listed and reinstalling it all, that did NOT work!                                                                                          The iPod, the laptop and iTunes ARE all fully updated!                                                                                                                                                                I AM using a brand new charging/data cable that I just opened up an hour ago (I've learned to keep a few brand new ones around at all times since these piece of garbage rip-off cables hardly last a week, even when you baby them!). I also tried a few old cables, they all do the same thing!                                                       I would like to get this piece of junk to connect to my new laptop, even if only once, so that I can change/delete some songs and transfer a few dozen photos,since I haven't been able to do any of that stuff since my old laptop (that NEVER had any problems connecting) died way back in May! lol.                                                                                                                                                                                                 I hope somebody knows a fix or solution!   • Previously backed up wife's Compaq Laptop along with my iMac and MacBook Pro to Time Capsule.  Replaced wife's Windows Vista Laptop with new Sony Windows 8 Laptop.  Now can't access Time Capsule to back-up.

    I also need advice on removing old Compaq back-up.  That laptop is dead.  Hard drive wiped and removed before recycling.  Help

    Windows 8 seems to still be waiting for bonjour..
    Open windows explorer and type in the TC address directly in the address bar.
    \\TCIPaddress or TCname
    Replace with the actual of course.
    If no go, ping the TC ip address .. still no go, then the networking on the windows machine is set wrongly.. never used win8 so no idea.. but turn off the firewall and ensure the laptop is in the home area, not work not public.
    You have to get ping response to open the TC.
    On the TC setup the guest access to on and full read and write access.

  • Can't Install L7680 in brand new HP Windows 8 Laptop

    Am getting the same can't find hpzprl40.exe in a long string of folders under users and each time I try I get a different file it can't find and I can't find any folder under temp starting with a 7.  I'm stumped and need to be able to access my computer.
    Can't try any of the fixes as the folder setup doesn't exist.  Just looked at my windows 7 laptop and no 7 folder under temp here either yet my printer runs
    Need help as can't be without a printer.

    Hi Dave,
    Try following the steps below and let me know if that may help resolving the issue:
    1. Open Mcafee software, from the Virus and Spyware Protection section click on Schedule and run scans. Click on Real time scanning and then on Turn Off. select till I restart the PC and confirm by clicking the Turn Off button.
    Now try reinstalling the HP Software and check if the installation goes as expected.
    If the issue persists continue following the next steps below:
    2. Open the run dialog by clicking both the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type %windir% and click on OK.
    3. Type hpoins*.dat into the top search bar, if there are any results rename the extention into old instead of dat. (e.g. hpoins1.old)
    4. Type hpwins*.dat into the top search bar, if there are any results rename the extention into old instead of dat. (e.g. hpwins1.old)
    5. Launch the Run dialog by clicking both the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER into the Run dialog and click on OK.
    6. Launch the Run dialog by clicking both the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type MSIEXEC /REGSERVER into the Run dialog and click on OK.
    7. Run the installation file and check for any difference.

  • Two new iPhones 1 promotional gb for 24 mos finally added.  I have to jump hoops next year for the second gb (also 24 mos) owed to me.

    Here's the update.
    SO they finally added the extra gb for 24 mos on only one of two new iPhones that I bought in September. Count the months, it's been three months.  
    WHy is my issue only half resolved and they said it's going to stay that way?
    BEcause they said that, yes they have documentation from the rep that activated the first phone that it was her fault.  She did it in the incorrect order for the promo to work.  She was supposed to make sure that the right plan was on the acct before activating the phone. She tried to correct it that same day but she didn't have a way to do it so she advised me to wait for the delivery of my husbands phone (the second phone) and once I receive it, at that time I should try to correct her mistake. 
    I Knew it was fishy and right away I consulted with a manager at the local store where I had first heard of the promotion. He tried to help me for two months and came back empty handed because as he put it he has even less access compared to the reps in customer service. Eventually I gave him a break and also because promised calls from supervisors were not kept. So I called customer service myself and after one knowlegeable rep and one sympathetic supervisor the end result is a problem half resolved..  A second supervisor after that is the one that explained to me that they have no way of fixing the reps mistake and he suggested that I accept 1gb for a year instead of 2 years and that then I should call back once that expires and ask for it to be added back for a second year.
    I Said No.  I will not go through this again, it's not fair to me.  I said to him its been three months now since I started trying to get this resolved I'm not going to repeat that stress again next year.   As it is it never fails every two Years when I add on a new promotional phone, there's always some mess that I have to spend months clearing up.
    SO dissapointed.  I told him I was going to  give him a bit more time to make things right but I'm beginning to believe it's so hard for them that they prefer not to bother and instead try to fix it best they can within their department.  Unfortunately it adds to my inconvenience.  So I think im going to have to put a complaint with the public utility commission and the better business bureau.

  • ITunes "uploads" music to iPod, but only loads one or two songs

    Hey, I've got somewhat of a problem on my hands.
    Whenever I attempt to update my iPod with all the songs in my iTunes library (I restored my iPod recently, losing all of the songs on it), it'll update like nothing was wrong. This will continue for a while, but mid-way through the song upload process, the loading will stop and I'll get a "iPod update complete" message. When I look at my iPod, it will only show one or two new songs have been uploaded onto it.
    What can I do to fix this?

    hmmmm. do you have any other USB 2.0 peripherals plugged in to the PC?
    if so, try (experimentally) disconnecting them prior to a sync. (sometimes power drain through one port can affect an ipod connection on a different port.)
    any improvement in sync performance if you try that?

  • Just to share GREAT Experience with Lenovo Service with T61p one long two short beeps

    Two weeks ago my laptop just suddenly died for no reason. It was in sleep mode and never woke up. I have researched some forums and found that the best thing to do is try to call the number of Lenovo service. I cannot remember it right now, but please check another thread t61p and one long two short beeps. The laptop was out of warranty and according to lenovo site it was 31. July was the last day for replacement claims, however nobody asked a question regarding warranty or replacement. Lenovo sent the box promptly and whole turnaround was in 3 days.
    I was really surprised with efficiency and service.
    So, if you are in the same situation please give it a try.

    A few days ago I purchased a new toshiba L505D-S5965 laptop , I currently have a acer aspire 5100-3357 laptop that has windows vista home premium installed on it, of course with all service packs, updates installed on it. As of now..I've yet to even power up my new toshiba ( even though I can hardly wait to do so ). I just want to get started off doing everything correctly. What I've done so far is use the built-in windows easy transfer utility on my original laptop, I copied everything over to a external hard drive. Now I believe all I have to do is decide which files I want to transfer to my new toshiba. Does anyone have any further information suggestions about doing this ?
