WRT 1900AC Firmware Update release date?

I've recently purchased one of these routers (and I'm on my second replacement device), unfortunately as many others have reported the device reboots frequetly and randomly.
The latest firmware has "known issues" and I am wondering how much longer its going to be before LinkSys devepment releases an update to address all the issues?
I've been on contact with technical support several times and have been provided nothing more than an apology regarding the known issues and the promise of a call back from their engineering team, which I've yet to hear from.
I've been a long time customer of LinkSys / Cisco products, but I;m beginning to question if these devices can be properly supported in the future.

What version of FW is currently loaded? I presume the latest?
Was the FW updated via auto update or manually?
If auto update, I recommend doing the following:
1. Save router config to file first using IE or FF with all security add-ons disabled.
2. Factory reset the router with all other devices disconnected or turned OFF accept for 1 wired PC.
3. Reload or Update the FW using IE or FF. Just download the FW file to your local wired LAN PC.
4. Factory reset the router and then set up from scratch first and test with out loading the saved config from file. Check to see if any problems are fixed before loading the saved config from file. Sometimes you need to set up from scratch with out loading the saved config file. Just safer that way.
I had my 1900AC online for 30 days with out any reboots however I avoided using the Network Map app is all. Thats a known issue with that cuasing reboots is all. I didn't experience any other reboots while using the router. Just don't use the Network Map app. They know about it and are working on it. Usually FW updates could be from 6-8 months depending on development and testing phases.
I'd do a clean reload of the FW using the above steps and set up from scratch. Do use that app either.
Patience is needed as well. FW updates just don't appear out of thin air for now reason. Many things happen before FW updates gets posted.

  • N95-3 firmware new update release date

    Hello,
By mid march, 2008, the n95-4 will be released in the US. This will be the next product in the n-series to be released in the US and it has been 4 months since the last firmware release for the N95-3.
I have heard that after the n95-4 comes out nokia will be releasing the new firmware for the n95-3 catching it up to the other n95 phones. A representative confirmed a new firmware will be out shortly and is being developed, but he could not give an exact date.
Can anyone confirm the release date of the new n95-3 firmware or this information as true?
    Thanks.

  • New firmware m1217nfw release date and other questions ...

    Hi everybody!
Does anybody knows when a new firmware update will be released? It seems that the latest release (2013-09-30, version 20130912) has a serious known issue and HP recommends : "Please do not update with this version" on the web site ...
The problem is that the version installed on my printer (version 20130211) seems to have a potential security vulnerability. The vulnerability could be exploited remotely to gain unauthorized access to
data! An intermediate firmware version (2013-07-26, version 20130703) was previously released to correct this issue but I can't find it on hp web site. Does anybody knows where I can find it???
My last question is about firmware update : HP recommends to update firmware by using an USB 2.0 cable connected to the printer. I successfully updated the firmware (twice) with the network interface of the printer. Should I avoid this method and use an USB 2.0 cable?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

    You can't.
They did this for a reason, as part of FairPlay.
There's no way to get around this.....
If the information on the purchase content is wrong (like wrong release date), contact Apple, and they might be able to correct it.

  • Updated Release Date For Release 2 Running on AIX

Could you please update me as to the release date for version 2 of the Application Server running on AIX.
    Thank you,
    Tom

Doh! I never thought of checking my order status :P
But, seriously, May 31 seems like a place holder. If it were May 31, they'd post that when you purchase the software in the Apple Store instead of simply saying May.
Maybe I'm wrong, obviously :P Anywho, I guess I was hoping for it to come sooner and not technically May, but actually June.

  • JDK 1.6 Update Release Dates

I need to work out what the release dates were for the updates to JDK 1.6. I am having problems with a supplier who is telling me they are using the latest version of the JDK that was available when development started. I know when 1.6.0 was released from a Sun press release. I cant see a way of working out when the updates were released.
I want to complete the following table; any help would be greatly appreciated. I thought it would be easy, or maybe I am just being a little slow
    1.6.0_07
    1.6.0_06
    1.6.0_05
    1.6.0_04
    1.6.0_03
    1.6.0_02
    1.6.0_01
    1.6.0 11/12/2006

    Pako,
the current branch (internally) will be certified with Java 6. So its good to know TP4 works with Java 6, its the production version that actually is QA tested on it

  • IPod Firmware Updates - Release Notes?

Does Apple release official 'Release Notes' with their software updates?
I was never able to find any 'What's New & Fixed' document on iPod Classic firmware updates v1.0.1 or 1.0.2.
Does anyone have any links to know what's new in 1.0.2?
I personally have a habbit of liking to read release notes before updating.
I know that 1.0.2 was a fix update, but would really like to know what exactly was fixed.
Please reply if you have any input.
    Thanks.

Looks like the new firmware fixes the Cover Flow problem that caused compilations with different artists to appear once for each artist.
However, it also looks like the firmware has introduced a new bug. For example, I have nine Emerson, Lake, and Palmer albums. When I look at these albums with the Cover Flow in iTunes, they correctly appear grouped together. However, when I look at these albums with Cover Flow on the iPod, those albums are split into three groups:
    - one group of six albums, at the correct place (among the artists beginning with the letter "E")
    - one group of one album (among the artists beginning with the letter "E", but near the end of the letter "E", out of alphabetical order)
    - one group of two albums (following artists beginning with the letter "G")
There is also another bug for a compilation album in my collection. It's a compilation where the "Album Artist" field is set to "Various Artist", and the "Sort Album Artist" field is set to "Jazz A Saint Germain". Each of the songs has a separate "Artist" and "Sort Artist" field as well.
With iTunes, Cover Flow shows the album at the correct place, among the albums with artists starting with "J". With the iPod, Cover Flow shows the album in the wrong place, towards the end of the collection. In addition, the album artist that is displayed by iTunes (correctly) is "Various Artists" but, on the iPod, it incorrectly shows "Angelique Kidjo", which happens to be the artist for the first song on the album.
Looks like that firmware needs a little bit more work...
Coverflow is the least of my worries with the 1.0.2 update; I'm in the apple store as I type & got a new replacement 160gb iPod Classic Black.
I hope that this new one works a lot better.

  • Nokia LUMIA AMBER update release dates????

I'm dying for lumia amber update for my 820.Microsoft release its GDR 2 update.but i can't download it to my phone,,coz nokia did't launch it.please hurry n release the AMBER UPDATE as soon as possible.I'm really curious about it.PLEASE RELEASE IT ASAP

The Amber Update was available TODAY for any WP8 phone but once NOKIA got wind of it they shut it down fast. They will leave us 810 owners in the dust EVEN thought those who downloaded the newest version on their 810's
HAVE NO issues whatsoever. NOKIA wants it to be exclusive to just few models and not all WP8's
And that's too bad  810 owners buy a Lumia 810 and 5 months later NOKIA won't provide updates. Nice.

  • IPod Touch 5g updates, release date rumors

I pre-ordered my iPod Touch 5th generation, 32g, (product) red. I also live in new york and ordered it on the 17th of september. any updates on the day of shipping?

Well, I have not wondered when mine will arrive since I canceled my order.  I had order mine on 9/28 from Amazon.  I knew Apple was telling people on their Store Web Site that SHIPPING in October.
For two (2) weeks I checked almost everyday for word on the SHIPPING of the "New and Improved" iPod,  After I began to feel frustrated I decided I its easier to wait until the market is well stocked and then I will have more confidance in the SHIPPING dates and also read a little bit about how the iPods are operating too.
Pre-order is a good thing, but for me this iPod guessing game has gotten real old.  I can wait and actually I can use the money for something else right now thats more important.
Maybe by Black Friday, the big shopping day after Thanksgiving, all the store will have it, maybe....

  • Firmware update 29 June 2011

Be warned! the firmware update released today 29 June 2011 onto my macbook pro caused the finder to crash. Sorted by having to launch into safe mode?

You may have downloaded and installed it on the 29th, but that is not the release date.  Since you didn't provide any information about what firmware update it was and the date you're using is meaningless, nobody could tell what you were talking about.  Sounds like it's the Thunderbolt update that was installed, at the same time as the Java update.
As to your warning, firmware updates don't generally make specific apps like the Finder crash, so I think there's something else going on in your case.  I'm especially puzzled as to how you have pinpointed the firmware update as the cause of your problem when you installed a Java update at the same time.

Not that we don't allow responses to the post but my post above is intended as an announcement just like what we usually do with other web releases on the the other forums.
Here are the answers to your questions:
.) Does it upgrade the VadoCentral software on the Vado unit's
Answer: No it doesn't. It will just replace the software on the unit with the same version.
2.) Does it install the VadoCentral software on our PC?
    Answer: No it does not.
3.) Or....is it just to reinstall the same version VadoCentral software for those that had it suddenly disappear from their Vados?
Answer: Yes. This is made available for cases where the software suddenly disappears from their Vados.

  • Late 2006 MacBook Pro replacement keyboard: firmware update required?

My late-2006 2.33GhZ MacBook Pro is still going strong -- except that a group of keys on the internal keyboard stopped working two weeks ago, requiring me to replace it. It was a delicate operation, but it worked like a charm.
Shortly thereafter, though, I started noticing a symptom that jogged my memory: when I'd go to type something, quite often the first character would be dropped, as if the keyboard wasn't waking from its low-power state quickly enough. This had been a common complaint with this model, and Apple addressed it with the MacBook Pro Keyboard Firmware Update released in 2008. I recall installing it and very specifically noticing the problem had vanished.
So of course now I'm wondering: is it possible my new keyboard needs the firmware update too? You can see the catch-22 I'm in: I can't install it, since the computer is convinced the updater has already been run. when I do run it, I get a generic message that the update isn't necessary. I even tried removing:
    /Library/Receipts/boms/com.apple.pkg.BuiltInKybdFirmwareUpdate.bom
to see if that would enable the updater to run, but no dice.
Of course it's possible I'm simply losing my mind, and the keyboard already has the update. Could someone else with this exact model -- someone who has run the keyboard firmware update -- tell me what version their internal keyboard is at, based on:
System Profiler -> Hardware -> USB -> Apple Internal Keyboard
    Many thanks!

    Hi Eric,
Any resolution to this? I do not have the exact same MacBook - mine is a 17" MacBook Pro, but in case it helps you, my updated keyboard version is 0.18 using the same installer
My problem is that when I originally used that software update (over a year ago), it created an intermittent keyboard/trackpad failure. Every 2 days, on a very regular basis, my trackpad and keyboard fail. In order to fix the problem, I go to the Utilities folder and run the "Built-In Keyboard Update Firmware" that the original DMG installer installed there. Once I run that program I'm good for another 2 days. Apple, of course, has no clue to what's going on.
Why am I telling you all this? I noticed that you are running Snow Leopard. I tried to upgrade to Snow Leopard a couple of weeks ago. After the Snow Leopard install, my keyboard failed like clockwork; however, it turns out that the firmware installer that I have been relying on for the last year to fix my intermittent failures no longer works under Snow Leopard. My phone calls to Apple were a complete waste of time (apparently there is a very low threshold to get on the "Genius Bar"). One of my questions to them was specifically about a way to re-run the installer from the DMG file. They again had no clue, and In the end I had to downgrade to Leopard to get my Keyboard back.
All that said to let you know that even if you can find a way to re-install the firmware updater (I'd like to know how, if you figure it out), there is a good chance the actual firmware update won't install under Snow Leopard.
Good luck - let me know how you make out.

  • Problem with SMC firmware update.

I can't seem to run it. Everytime I go to, it never installs. I have a feeling that it has to do with bootcamp. Whenever I restart my computer, it runs Windows (I don't know how to fix that.) so I can't just press restart, I have to actively start OSX.
I go to install it, my computer starts up, and then the installer pops up again. I press restart, start up the computer, same thing. I've done this 4 or 5 times and the same thing happens everytime. What should I do?

    Sheir,
Go to System Preferences>Startup Disk and verify that OS X is the Startup OS that is selected for your Mac. If it is not the one selected, select it and restart your Mac a couple of times to verify that it will restart into OS X. If it won't then we need to figure out what is going wrong.
If it successfully restarts into OS X then go to Applications>Utilities and look for the SMC Firmware Update.app that should have been placed there and trash it. Also trash the SMC Firmware Update.dmg if you have it. I don't think you will because Software Update has been doing the install. Empty the trash.
Then go to Apple Downloads and manually download a fresh version of the iMac (early 2006) SMC Firmware Update released on 16 MAY 2006.
Shut down all your other programs except the Finder and Dashboard. Unplug everything from your Mac except your USB keyboard and mouse. Turn off Airport and Bluetooth if they're on.
Make sure you are completely familiar with the SMC Firmware installation instructions.
Try to do the install again.
