WRT 330N: attached devices

I have a WRT 330N . Trying to see a list of attached devices (client list) from the status tab does not show all attached devices.
The list is 9 lines ( 9 devices) long. I know I have more than that attached.
Is there a way to go around this problem?

The devices it is showing are all working with DHCP IP settings ....
not static .. so all the devices using static IP settings ... will not be shown under DHCP client table ....

  • IMac shown as UNKNOWN under "Attached Devices" on Netgear Router

I have a small home network comprising my iMac G5 (10.4.7), and two XP laptops. One of the laptops is connected to a Netgear DG834PN Wireless Router via Ethernet Cable, and the other laptop and my iMac gets connection via wireless.
Yesterday I suddenly realised that my iMac is listed on the router's attached devices as UNKNOWN. Before, it showed my computers name (which I have NOT changed recently). MAC address is right though.
This does NOT affect my internet access - everything still going smoothly there. VNC also works, and even file sharing using my IP address. BUT my computer is no longer shown in the workgroup on the two Windows computers.
The two Windows computers "see" each other in the workgroup computer list. Mine is just not there.
I have rebooted the router, upgraded the firmware, restarted my iMac, changed my iMac's name, repaired permissions, but still my computer is shown as UNKNOWN.
Anyone out there having a CLUE why this could be?? As far as I can tell, it must be a problem with my Mac, since it is the only part of the equation that is not working!

Only one thing comes to mind.
Go to your "Sharing" option in the System Preferences. Click the "Firewall" tab and hit the "Advanced" button. In the window shade screen that unrolls, make sure the "Enable Stealth Mode" box is not checked. I have had this option prevent my lan router from properly registering my computer in the past.
    I hope this helps.
    Matt

  • Unable to attach devices to personal cloud

    Hello,
We are having an issue where I cannot attach devices to the personal cloud.  The option to "allow this user to attach devices to my Personal Cloud" does not stay checked after apply.  I have tried local users and AD users.  I have also updated the firmware to latest.
What can I do to get it to work?
    Thanks

    Hey Andrew,
Yes the email is sent, and the user is allowed to login, and view the share through the interface, although you are unable to add your own device.
I have tried a couple browsers and same results.  If I go into Users & Groups, choose the user, the option will not be selected.
If I select it, and click apply, the cursor will spin for a few seconds, and it shows selected.
Now if I try to attach, I'll get an error that I don't have rights, and if I close user & groups, and re-open it, the option will not be selected again.  It appears that it just won't take the option.
I've tried AD users, and local users and get the same results.  Interestingly enough, when I select the option and click apply - all users show the option as selected even if I haven't added them.  It could be the control on the website that is the problem.
If I could just set it in the SSH console, that would be fine.
    Thanks

  • Why doesn't my E4200 wireless router show all attached devices when viewing the DHCP Client table?

I recently installed some wireless IP cameras and when attempting to re-install a camera I went into the DHCP Client table to verify which IP a camera was using to set it up, but I could not...and still cannot see any of my cameras in the table even though I can access three of them directly through the IE web browser. I initially power cycled both the E4200 router and Motorola cable modem, and then later just the wireless router...but I still do not see the devices connected. I currently have 2.0.37 firmware even though I was told by Cisco support that there was a later version available, just before being informed that I do not have support available and could purchase it. I attempted to locate a newer version, but the online upgrade portion of the Cisco Connect software searched the net and then states that I have the latest version available. I also opened a Firefox browser to see if maybe my browser was causing issues, but the same limited table appears without all entries available. I even opened the Cisco Connect software on another laptop with the same limited results.
Other than a factory reset, any suggestions to get me E4200 dual band wireless router to show all attached devices through the DHCP Client table as it previously did approximately two weeks ago? Thanks!

It is strongly recommended that you upgrade the firmware to a smart wifi, which may resolve lot of bugs. You can also download the firmware here:

    Ver.2.1.39.145204

  • Something strange in my router's list of attached devices.

This might be a tough one.
Here is my setup: Imac g5, cable modem and netgear rangemax wireless router, ethernet connection, WEP encrytion with SSID broadcast disabled. Currently not taking advantage of the wireless yet.
Here is the strange thing: Most times (I am paranoid and check all the time to see if anyone is trying to creep into my network), when I check my list of "attached devices" in my router login page I see this:
    Attached Devices
    IP Address: 1. 192.168.1.3
    Device Name: -
MAC Address: (don't know if I should show that)
Notice that there is no "device name."
    And sometimes I see this:
    Attached Devices
    IP Address: 1. 192.168.1.3
    Device Name: YOUR-XB2X7J77GN
    MAC Address: ***************
Obviously, the weird thing here is the "device name."
Now, I googled my device name: YOUR-XB2X7J77GN and got a few hits that contained words like "hack" and such and some hits that didn't really saying anything suspicious. Didn't find anything that seemed to do with wireless networking though. Seems like someone else somewhere in the world would have noticed this and posted in some forum about it but nothing that I found, which I think seems a little odd. Google this name and see what you think.
Question: Why does my device name change sometimes and should it be changing. Is this worth looking into and do most user's just not care to even look at this stuff?

Don't know, but I've read in Apple articles and elsewhere that WPA is more secure than WEP, and that was prior to WPA2. You might want to consider switching over.

  • Ipod Nano 7th Generation - Not Charging / Error Msg From Comp 'Attached Device Malfunctioned'

My IPod Nano 7th gen arrived last night.  I was able to turn it on and select language 'english'  When I connected it to my computer it did not recognize my iPod, so it also did not show up in iTunes,  Error message: "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned.  and Windows does not recognize it."
My Nano turned off and went blank.   I have tried to reset it.  Nothing works, just blank.
No charge icon, I have tried all USB ports on my comp, but nothing works- (but my USB ports work fine)  I have read that if my iPod has not been charged fully, the computer my not recognize it.
I am now using an adapter and trying to charge it thru the wall power socket.  It has been connected for half an hour.  Still cannot turn iPod on.
I have Windows 7 running on comp.  Itunes is current version 10.7.  I have rebooted my comp several times and re-installed iTunes.
I have an iPhone and an iPod shuffle that are both synced with iTunes on this comp, they work fine.
Is my iPod broken?  Do I send it back?  Anyone else having the same problems?  Please Help !!

I had this problem as well.  I have a PC running Windows 7. I have installed the latest iTunes 10.7 software (64 bit). I reset the nano by holding down the start and home button for 10 seconds.  Then - I plugged it into a PC running Windows XP and was able to format the iPod. Ejected it and plugged it into my Windows 7 computer and then the computer recognized it and I was able to load it. There is some problem with iTunes 7 on Windows 7.

  • ITunes 12 not recognizing any attached devices

I have installed uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes 12 about 3 times.  It will not recognize any of my devices, iphone, ipod, ipad, etc.  My PC is running Windows 8 and it is seeing the usb connections each time I attach a device.  iTunes does not see them.  I ran the diagnostic and it stated that no devices are connected.   I tried reverting to a previous version, but the update changed my library which the older version will not recognize.  Has anyone found a solution?

    HI RAM0402,
I see that you are having some issues with iTunes identifying your iOS devices. Here is an article that will outline some further troubleshooting steps that you can take to address this issue:

  • Discover IP address of attached devices?

I have an APE.n setup to be a DHCP server for my office. How can I discover the IP addresses of devices attached to it? Both wired and wireless. There are devices that I need to access via IP address. In my old netgear router, I could go to the web admin screens and see who was attached using what IP addresses. I can't find that information on the Airport.

I have a similar problem but looking at the 'Logs and Statistics' section only shows me the MAC addresses (besides my laptop) of 2 other wireless devices in the 'wireless clients' section but no info on those 2 other devices (wireless PVR's) in the DHCP clients section. Can anyone tell me how to find out the ip addresses of these 2 other devices. I tried connecting 1 via a cat 5 but that one still doesn't show up in the DHCP clients section.
Can you assign a particular ip address to a wireless device so that it will always maintain that address and not have the router assign new ones.

  • WRT 330N V1 keeps Resetting Cable Modem

I have the issue that the router (Wrt330N Version 1) keeps resetting my Modem connection. I have turned off the wireless portion of the router and it doesn't happen as often. I have tried to get my money back no luck, I have reinstalled the eprom update that tech support told me to do and still resetting. 10 times allready today that it has reset. Anybody have any suggestions other than throwing it away and buying something else! I have had several Linksys routers in the past and all have been great except this one.  Yes I have the lastest eprom.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Connect your computer straight to the modem and check for a stable connection...If you have a stable connection then download the firmware from here
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device: -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page.In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Leave username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...
Then, unplug the power cable while holding down the reset button for another 30 Seconds...
Plug the power cable back in, and keep holding down the reset button for another 30 Seconds...
Release the reset button...Now re-configure your router...Hope it resolves your concern...

  • VG248 or FXS port pass DNIS to the attached device ?

    Hi All,
I have an IP Telephony and unified messaging setup.
    Topology:
    PSTN--2600--CallMgr---VG248----FaxServer
I need to have dedicated fax lines then I have two options, either use the VG248 or use analog cards in 2600 type of ios voice gateway. I would like to know if both or any of these voice gateways will pass the Called Number (DNIS) to the Fax Server???
Passing the Called Number is important because based on those dialed numbers, Fax server will send the calls to the right mail box.
Your help in this regard would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ahmer Ghazi

  • How to see attached devices in AEBS?

I dont see any such option to see all the connected machines to the base station. Can someone help?

I dont know why my response isnt here. Anyway.... here it goes:
I am not connected to any other base station – I know for that sure. I don’t understand your 2nd point. The last point is also not true – I am not connected to any other machine.
In the “Internet Connect” it is right now set as using “Ethernet”. If I change it to “PPPoE” and supply my userid/pwd for my DSL, it doesn’t work. If you think that this is the problem, please let me know what I should do.
Normally, in most routers, once you choose PPPoE, it will ask for userid/pwd. But in AEBS, it asks for user id and “new password”. I don’t understand this – maybe it is just a terminology. In spite of providing the correct password, it wouldn’t connect - dont know why?
Did my answer help in defining the problem correctly? I hope I am not driving you nuts
