WRT110 intermittent loss of connectivi

I recently installed a WRT100 router.  I have a single PC and one laptop connecting.  Both the PC and the laptop intermittently lose connectivity.  I only know this because I lose whatever page I am on and often have to reboot due to being frozen.  I have never lost connection like this with my internet provider before installing this router.  Can someone help me stop the crashing?  Getting very angry and wanting to live without router.

If both the computer's are loosing the internet connection, then, you need to upgrade your router's firmware...
Download Firmware 2.77 MB...
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...
In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
Now reset your router :
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

  • Intermittant loss of sound

since i updated the software on my iphone 4 i have intermittant loss of sound i have researched and this is a common problem trouble is no one has an easy fix answer the best suggestion is to revert the phone back to the old software but i have no idea how to do this and apple dont seem to be acknowleging that they messed up with the update so if anyone can help i would be very gratefull
    many thanks

I have been there and done that.....makes no difference. Why do you think that the all of a sudden it would change the output in the first place? Things don't change by themselves for no apparent reason. It was still on the bose speakers when I went into sys pref. Amazing that you think that it would change itself everyday....did you really read my post or were you distracted?

  • Intermittent Loss of Audio

I rented Micheal Clayton on HD a couple of days ago (my second HD rental), noticed that the movie playback had intermittent loss of audio whether I set it to DD5.1 or not it made no difference.
The audio loss don't seem to happen at the same scene everytime I rewind and play it back all over again. It seems to happen at random scenes during the movie playback and several times there was no audio for nearly 5 to 10 seconds before it reappears and when I rewind and playback the same scene again, the audio seems to be alright for most parts?
I am wondering if any other users have had similar audio issues with rented movies from iTunes?
This is like my first rental movie which had issues with audio, the previous 3 or 4 rentals did not have any audio nor video issues. It's not my ATV unit either because movies and music videos which I already own, playback on it just fine in DD5.1 via Optical and HDMI. So the issue was just with that one movie which I rented then.
I am wondering how could one demand for a refund from Apple when faced with such problems or issues after the rented movie dissappears from your ATV 24 hours later??
Now I am feeling cautious to rent another movie, what if I have another issue with which ruins the movie experience?
I think I will stick with my PS3 and Blu-Ray for now.

Not sure but I thought I read in another issue that if you connect a TB cable from your Mini into the TB port on the display and the audio/video is OK then that would mean the built-in cable is bad.  I have never tried this so not sure it would work.  Hate to buy a TB cable just to  test because of cost.  The other way would be to take to Apple store and have them check the cable.  It contains miniture IC boards and one could be bad.

  • Intermittent Loss of Communications with Solaris 10

With a 32 port Terminal Server, if greater than 28 ports are connected to
active hardwired patient monitoring devices, our application on
Solaris 10 experiences intermittent Loss of Comms one port (which a patient device is connect to) at a time. This happens whether or not other terminal servers are attached and has nothing to do with total device load load. We have been able to sustain device loads greater than 60 patients with NO comms loss as long as the 32 port Terminal Server(s) has 28 ACTIVE PORTS OR LESS.
The Loss of Comms ONLY occurs for devices connected to the 32 port
Terminal Server with greater than 28 ports connected to active devices.
This does not occur with Solaris 8. It only occurs with Solaris 10
    11//06.
Is this a TCP/IP configuration issue?
I've begun trying to use DTRACE with Provider "mib", but need to narrow
down the "filtering" to only trace on exactly what is needed to get to the root of this issue.
    Anyone have any ideas?

I had the same problem. I tried all the obvious stuff (reset etc) and tried some of the random fixes suggested on here.
Have you tried cleaning all the gunk from the charger port? Mine was clogged with pocket fluff so I got in about it with a tooth pick - problem solved!
    Good luck  :)

  • Vexing intermittent loss of Internet

For about six weeks now I have been experiencing a troubling intermittent loss of Internet service. It's like on, off, on, off, on, off, etc. It changes minute to minute. I click on a link and get a message saying the web site can't be reached, try reloading.
Then I'll click on the link and Internet is back. Three or four minutes later its on again, then off again, etc.
I'm on my third or fourth modem/wireless router, the last one being installed by a Verizon tech. When the problem continued they sent another tech who replaced my ONT. Still the problem persists.
This loss of Internet occurs when using my hard wired desktop and wireless laptops used  by me and others in the house.
Don't know what to do next except maybe go back to Cablevision.
We're talking northern Westchester County, N.Y.

I'm sorry you are having difficulty. An agent with access to your account will reach out to you directly by email, private message in the Forums and/or the billing telephone number on your Verizon account for more information or to help you resolve your issue.

  • Intermittent loss of connection

For about a week now I have been suffering from a intermittent loss of connection to the internet the internet will be fine until it randomly decides to drop out. Usually I'll be surfing the website and go to navigate to another webpage when it times out and tells me it couldn't find the website in question. My games seems to be affected as well though it is more common for me to observe this in my browser the problem occurs in Firefox and I loaded Chrome as well one day and the problem appears there as well. I need some line quality tests with dslreports.com's line quality test and I did four of them they all reported intermittent packet loss the odd thing I noticed is in all four tests I did the same node suffered a varying amount of packet loss (ae-1-60.edge1.SanJose3.Level3.net) I have been trying to get some info on this server but I can't seem to find any info on it whatsoever I have included all four tests in the zip archive attached to this post.
I also did a fifth test which I included as well I did this test after resetting the router and did another test but it was much of the same. Please tell me how to troubleshoot this problem I am losing my mind and patience.

I've been having a simliar issue as well for about a month now where my internet drops out every now and then for several seconds and then comes back up. This only started happening after Hurricane Sandy in Staten Island, NY when my ONT had to be replaced after being flooded. Since then, I have already had my ONT replaced twice and was given a new REV I router and told to not send back my old REV D router which never had any problems before. I have even tried putting back the REV D router and I still kept losing internet every now and then. After multiple chats with Verizon, they seem to have pinpointed the problem to be a physical issue in my house. So, I tried connecting the REV I router directly to the ONT, via coax, and I still noticed the internet dropping. Looking at the router logs, I noticed the following entries every now and then (usually multiple times a day):

I setup syslog on the router which feeds it to the WallWatcher application and this is all the details I get duing the flap. I'm really stumped by this and can't figure out what the problem is. Could it be a bad PON card? I noticed that the logs show only the WAN Coax going down without the LAN Coax which leads me to believe in a faulty connection between the router and the ONT. I've already tried connecting both routers directly to the ONT to no avail. The only changes that I can think of since Sandy are the electrical outlets that were replaced. Could they be causing some kind of interference? I've tried running the coax with and without the ground block, but that didn't help either. The only thing that was not replaced since the first post-Sandy installation is the ONT battery system, only the battery itself was replaced once. Could that be it? Just to be clear, I have always been connected via coax and I have tried testing with different cables.

  • Intermittent loss of internet connection on Homehu...

    Hi Everyone
I have recently taken out a new contract with BT and connected my new Homehub 4 on the 14th February.  Seemly it was okay for at least 5 days then I started to experience some intermittent loss of internet on all of the devices, i.e PC, laptop, xbox, it effected both wired and wireless.  The hub was showing orange light, which then prompt me to press the reset/restart button on top of the hub.
I have try out my old Homehub 1 for 3 days to see if it effected that one too, but the hub 1 was perfect in term of no loss of connection for 3 day.
Then I connect homehub 4 again on Fri 28th February it was okay for a day, except on 1st march in the morning hub seem to disconnect/reconnect itself. Then around 2310 pm I have loss all connection to the internet through all of my devices again.
Does anyone know what this problem is?  It is to do with BT-Wifi Fon, or is the hub 4 faulty and need replacing?
    Many Thanks

It was orange central broadband light, there were no other light showing on the silver part.
I have not tried test socket yet, however, I did have a new master socket and line replaced couple year ago, so it would have the new faceplate on there. Plus, the external line etc must be working since hub 1 was working perfectly.

  • HTC Desire 510 | Intermittent loss of GPS signal

I so want to believe that Dinesh wasn't just stringing you along...

I have collected my phone on Sunday. O2 Repair Centre stated in a letter that they could not replicate issue however they installed latest software. Here are details:
    Android version: 4.4.3
    HTC Sense version: 6.0
    Software number: 1.08.206.3
    HTC SDK API level: 6.25
    Kernel Version: 3.10.28-g72f7e8d
    and@AABM #1
    SMP PREEMPT
    Baseband version: 01.02.010_U10251_36.08.40814_F
Build number: 1.08.206.3 CL376910 release-keys I have compared these details with my wife's phone which is also HTC 510. They are exactly the same. So my question is which latest software has been installed in my phone? In the last 3 days I have been testing returned phone. The issue is still the same - GPS losses its signal intermittently. It takes me 30 minutes to get to work and within that time frame it can happen a few times. Signal loss lasts around 2 minutes. You can imagine how frustrating it is especially if you do not know your route.I have been contacted today by Michael from 'Complaint Review Service' team. Here is a copy of his email he sent after our conversation: "Further to our earlier conversation, I've ordered the refurbished phone to the below address and providing there are no issues with stock, you should receive this tomorrow.
As this is a refurbished phone that we’re sending to you outside of our usual process, any future repairs of this phone would need to be done through us. However, if you do experience the same issues, I’d certainly ask the question to HTC as to why it’s not worked on various phones.
I’d suggest keeping your original phone until this issue has been resolved." I have again explained the whole story with HTC & O2. I have told Michael that my wife's phone has got the same issue and more people reported it. I have asked if I can get phone replacement from another manufacturer and I`m willing to pay difference. Michael said that O2 is unable to offer that and they can only offer me a refurbished HTC 510. It seems people from O2 do not want to take ownership of this issue. I have spoken with a few of them and they usually try to use the same version of script:- There is no problem with phone
    - GPS may not always work reliably and that is fine
    - Issue may be with software which we do not cover
    - Contact manufacturer and try to resolve it that way
I`m going to test the one their are going to send to me and take it from there. to be continued...

  • Intermittent loss of UNC path access on Windows Server 2012

    Hi All,
I hope someone can help with a major headache we've been having on two Windows Server 2012 boxes since September this year. Basically, these servers will intermittently lose the ability to browse network shares from windows explorer and the only way we have
found to resolve this is to reboot. When the issue happens, we can't even log into the server as it sits at 'applying user settings' - presumably as it is failing to access the netlogon share on our DCs. If we have an active RDP session when the issue occurs,
we can connect. In this instance we see that if you enter a UNC path in Windows explorer and hit enter, nothing happens - no error messages or anything. The only way I can get any response is when trying to access the IPC$ share on another server, which gives
    the following response:
\\server\ipc$ is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this resource, Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
    The parameter is incorrect.
Everything looks right from a physical network perspective, as we can ping from the affected servers and DNS queries are working fine. I can even run net view from powershell and see the local servers and shares on these, however any attempt to access shares
    just hangs the powershell session.
If I look in the SMBClient event logs, I can see entries like the following:
    Event ID 30805
The client lost its session to the server.
Error: The transport connection is now disconnected.
This is made worse by the fact that when this issue happens, we can't even cleanly reboot the server (it just hangs) and have to perform a cold boot.
The firewall has been turned off and we have taken off our antivirus software to eliminate it as a possible cause. We have even rebuilt one of these servers on a clean install of 2012 R2, but the issue re-appeared. We have also tried using different NIC
drivers (Broadcom NICs installed) to no avail. We have also tried disabling IPv6.
We have logged a ticket with Microsoft support, who have come back telling us that this could be related to a known bug with DFS in 2012 for which a fix is being tested prior to release in a few weeks. However, I can't sit around on my hands until then on
the off chance that this fix will resolve our problem. These servers are hosting our production Lync 2013 front end service and when this issue occurs it breaks the address book search and response group services, so this issue is of critical importance for
    us to get resolved asap.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
That's right, if you hit enter absolutely nothing happens, no error messages. It makes no difference if I try name or IP address - even trying \\localhost doesn't work. A few minutes later after trying, an entry appears in the SMBClient event logs as mentioned
in my original post. To me it looks like something deep within the networking operations of the OS is randomly breaking. Also, if I try to browse the network from Windows explorer, it just hangs. When I try to restart the workstation service, it just gets
permanently stuck in a stopping state and the server has to be cold booted. Once it boots up, everything is working fine again....until the next time. There is absolutely nothing appearing in the application or system event logs indicating the root cause.
I've checked and DNS resolution is working OK and I can telnet to other hosts on all the required ports.
I had originally thought it might be related to the Broadcom NICs as we've had issues with them in the past, but we switched over to use the 2012 inbox driver for them and the same issue happens. I should also mention that one server is a blade and the other
a rackmount box. Dell support have run full diagnostics on both and have come up clean, so it doesn't appear to be a hardware issue. The even more baffling thing is that we have a third server with identical spec and config that does not have the problem.
The only difference with this third server is that it is not part of a Lync pool pairing using DFS and sits in a remote location on a different LAN.
I had thought of trying to drop back to use SMB1 by disabling SMB2 and 3, but I'm not sure if this would adversely affect any other services.
This one really has me stumped.

  • WLC 5508 intermittent loss of connectivity

    Hi.
I have a WLC 5508 connecting directly to a distribution switch (3850) via a layer 2 etherchannel trunk fibre link with LAG enabled on the WLC.
Whenever there is a loss of power to the server room where both devices are hosted & power later gets restored, the distribution switch & WLC lose Layer 2 & 3 connectivity. Connectivity only gets restored when the WLC is power cycled or the fibre cables connecting to its SFP ports are removed & plugged back in. When this is done connectivity is restored between them, APs associate etc. Once there is a loss of power to the room for whatsoever reason again, the loss of connectivity issue re-occurs.
Disabled the etherchannel at some point, using only a single fibre trunk link between them, but the issue persists.
Also check for interface errors, CRCs, etc on both ends but there are none.
Can anyone please advice me on what the issue is & what can be done to permanently resolve this?
    Thanks in anticipation.
    Ope.

    Software version is 7.4.100.0
    int gig1/0/5
      switchport mode trunk
      switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
      channel-group 1 mode on
    int gig1/0/6
    switchport mode trunk
    switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
    channel-group 1 mode on
Port setting on the switch is set to auto-negotiate. Port setting on the controller is "auto". The link has been negotiated (& always negotiates) to 1000Mbps full duplex on both ends.
Presently in transit with no way of connecting to the device, but I checked the duplex & speed settings on both devices which was appropriately negotiated. Also checked for interface error counters on the switch, there was none. Checked the WLC logs too, there were no logs on issues with the interfaces or auto-negotiation.

  • Airplay intermittent loss of sound - Sony NS410

I use windows vista and iTunes 10.7 - after about a day and a half of trying to get music to play (which requires a ridiculously high level of tech know how, amending settings on firewalls, opening ports, setting anti-virus just right etc etc etc - how apple expect more general consumers to get by with this is utterly beyond me) - now the music drops out intermittently and sometimes altogether loses connection, the only thing that works is disconnectin and reconnecting the wi-fi on my laptop. this is no real solution however, given that it ruins any experience of the music etc that i want to play - i don't get these issues from my iphone and it seems evident its something to do with the way itunes and/or the connection settings on my laptop - - any help is much appreciated!

  • IPhone 6 - Intermittent Loss Of Sound

    Hi,
My handset has just recently started loosing sound via the speakers/headphones....totally.  The phone is up to date on iOS8, it is always in a case and is very much looked after.  It hasn't been dropped or exposed to water (other than a few drops of rain when I had to make a call.)  Handset purchased Oct 14.
The first time this happened I put it down to a minor glitch and tried a soft reboot (power/menu button)...this did not work, I tried resetting via "GENERAL/RESET ALL SETTINGS".  Again, this did not work.  So, I decided to restore the phone to new via iTunes.  Result.  All working.
This has now happened on 4 or 5 different occasions.  This is getting a little tiresome.  On one other occasion I have had to do the time consuming restore via iTunes...but mainly a soft reset has resulted in the sound coming back.
Has anyone else experience this and I am assuming that it will be best to travel to my nearest store for checking.
If deemed faulty, will the handset be repaired or replaced??
    Thanks
    S

To rule out a software issue, set it up as new device without using the latest backup.
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
Set up your phone manually and see if the problem comes back. If it does not, some data from the backup had been damaged, causing the loss of the sound.
If the problem comes back, this could be hardware related as well.
Did you use any 3rd party apps prior to losing the sound? Sometimes non default apps can affect parts of the iOS software and give you unexpected results.
You can visit an Authorized Apple Service Provider or Apple Store next to your place to get it checked. If the problem should be hardware related, they will replace your device, so make sure to back up your data to iCloud or your computer before you go.

  • Intermittent loss of screen display on boot-up

I have a HP G70-110EA laptop, running Vista.
During the last month or or so there have been 3 or 4 random occurences of the folowing problem:-
When the laptop is switched on, the screen lighting comes on, but otherwise the screen is blank (blue, NOT black). The HDD light flashes and after a few seconds there is the audible bleep for the BIOS password. Enter password at the keyboard and the HDD light continues to flash. As far as I can tell the boot process is continuing normally all the way to the Windows login screen, except that nothing appears on the screen at any time. If the laptop is powered down, and then turned on again, usually everything is back to normal, except that today it took 3 or 4 attempts. Once the screen functions normally, then it /seems/ to continue OK until you shut down again - even if you go into sleep mode during your session, it will come back again alright.
I think - but I am not certain - that the first time this happened was after it had downloaded and run some Windows updates, and was then re-booting.
Is this a hardware or software problem, and what might be causing it ?

Thanks for the link. As far as I can tell at the moment, there is nothing in any of the linked pages to cover my particular circumstances, for the following reasons:-
    1. A lot of the help is for cases where the laptop does not boot. It is clear that my laptop DOES boot, you just can't see anything on the screen!
    2.  Some of the help relates to black screens. I get more of a 'dark blue' screen , as it is clear that the edge (?) lighting comes on and the screen is certainly NOT the black that occurs during normal boot-up.
    3. If there ARE any error messages, they do not display and therefore can not be read.
    4. Trying to do thing such as read the number of LED code flashes is difficult, as it takes a little while before you realise that the screen is not going to display, by which time the POST process has passed.
However, if/when the problem re-occurs, then I will certainly cross-check with that information.
Might it be something as simple as an intermittent fault in the screen cable where it passes through the hinge?

  • V04 and intermittent loss of connection whilst usi...

In 3+ years with BT Vision I have had perhaps two V04 errors which were fixed with suggested re-boot.
In the last week I have had more than 10 and reboots don't fix the errors permanently. I get connection back but then get errors later or find the Vision services are not available. Watching film last week, the connection dropped about 10 times during the film.
I have run the Speedtest but have found the instructions and posted results to be totally inconsistent with the results I was getting.
For example, after performing Speedtest it asks what Connection Rate & IP Profile results I get - Speedtest doesn't give you these results, it gives download speed (Mbps), Upload speed (Mbps) & Ping Latency.
By clicking other options it then takes me to api.home site. This shows Bandwidth rate differently.
    Mine was:
    Bandwidth
    448 / 8,128
However it then asks you to select if you are getting 'Connection Rate of more than 2016' or 'Connection Rate of less than 2016'. Which ever option you chose, it states: "It looks like your broadband connection is causing problems with your BT Vision On Demand service".
Then it asks you questions about microfilters and then finishes, so was of no use to me.
As my error is intermittent (but frequent) I am unclear how to progress this.

I suggest a phone call to the Vision Team. it may indeed be a problem with your BB speed.

  • IPhone 3G running 3.1.2 still having intermittent loss of data services

My wife's 3G is randomly indicating that she has no internet connection, so she can't get data and/or send SMS messages. Even though she's in a spot at work where it used to always work fine.
Her 3G has the latest 3.1.2 firmware and has gotten all of the updates from 2.0 to 2.1, all the way up to 3.1.2.
I think people that have the earlier 3G's and have gone through multiple updates seem to be having the most issues.
Let me know if anyone know of some way (ANY WAY) to fix this. Again, she has a 3G running 3.1.2 and has applied updates from 2.0 on up to 3.1.2...with instability issues showing up first with 3.0.
I personally have a 3G (just as old) and have gone through almost the same updates, BUT...I didn't update from 3.01 to 3.1. My 3G began getting squirley (Safari crashing with muliple tabs open and general lag doing text entries...stuff like that) after I updated to 3.01 (or was it 3.0?), so I held off doing any more updates until the coast seemed clear to do one. I'm glad I held off as the 3.1 updates made matters worse for my wife and many others.
3.1.2 still has issues. I'm sure the phone hardware is fine, but installing multiple updates over each other seems to create instabilities.

Here is my post when I first started having problems with the 3.1 update:
    *+Model: iPhone 3GS 16GB+*
    *+Location: Los Angeles+*
    *+Firmware Version: 3.1+*
    *+Symptoms after installing 3.1:+*
*+Battery Issues - Since upgrading to 3.1, battery life has become dismal. If leaving the house in the morning at 8am, by 2pm or so, phone is down to 10 percent or less with minimal to no browsing. Before, 3.1, iPhone would last at the minimum 24 hours with medium browsing and multiple text messaging.+*
*+Texting - Text message sending is non-existent. All text messages fail on send. To alleviate situation, I must reboot phone and then it works for an hour or so. Before 3.1, text messaging worked flawlessly with text message failure once every 50 or so text messages.+*
*+Reception - Signal strength has gone from great to really bad. I've always had reception at work. Now, nothing. Calls don't come through and go straight to voicemail. Before 3.1, reception was perfect. No dropped calls, no reception problems, no phantom calls.+*
*+Syncing: Multiple problems trying to sync phone to computer. "Disk cannot be read" errors as well as freezing on initial sync. Before 3.1, never had syncing issues.+*
*+No freezing issues or shutdown issues experienced as others have stated.+*
*+I went to St. Louis this past weekend and discovered that to alleviate the situation, I have to turn off 3G (Settings>General>Network). Phone is now only on EDGE network. Works fine but it shouldn't be like this. If 3G is turned on, iPhone moprhs into doorstop/ throwing weapon.+*
*+I don't believe the phone itself is the problem. It's firmware based. Seems like there's a conflict with the firmware and the 3G network. I am an end-user and do not have a technical background.+*
After upgrading to 3.1.2, I'm still having the same issues. The only way I can get my phone to function is by disabling the 3G. I'm currently using Edge. IN laymans terms, this is ********.
