WRT110 will not connect to PS3

I can not connect my new WRT110 wireless N router to my PS3. It connects to everything else in my house laptop PC, MAC. I have been working on this all day. I have no idea what to do. I've tried the DNS stuff that other people have said on other forums. I have tried no WPA passkey at all. That didnt work. The problem I keep getting is that it gets the IP but then no internet access. Most errors were DNS I even manually inputted the DNS server address. For me its 192.168.1.1 . Now does that look like a DNS server address. I mean with my previous WRT54G router everything connected fine with the PS3 now I get a newer Wireless N router and nothing happens. I would have thought this router would have connected easier. I mean it does have nicer features but nothing in my house is wi fi easy setup compatible. Any help would be great. My wireless WRT110 is connect to my IMAC via ethernet cable. Then everything else is wireless. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

On your PS3 you can assign a Static IP i.e: 192.168.1.10, Subnet : 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1, Preferred DNS : 208.67.222.222, Alternate DNS : 208.67.220.220. Once you assign this to your PS3, after this you can check if you are able to go online on your PS3.

  • Dual Ethernet will not connect if set to share Single IP address

The subject says it all. My trusty old Dual Ethernet will not connect if set to share Single IP address.
I cannot get anything but a self assigned IP address with it set to share a single IP address.
Before about Tuesday of last week I had connected to it a Mac mini, iMac, Dell Desktop, Dell Laptop, and PS3 all working fine. I think Comcast or Apple updated their system or Airport software and now the old dual Ethernet will not share a single IP address.

So far as I know, there has been no recent change in Apple's software affecting the Snow (a/k/a Dual Ethernet) base station. About 2-1/2 weeks ago, Apple distributed an update to AirPort software for Intel Macs running Tiger, but it would not have affected the base station.
Your topic implies that when the Snow is not set to share a single IP address (i.e., presumably, when "Distribute IP addresses" is unchecked in the Network pane of AirPort Admin Utility for Graphite and Snow), one of the computers is connecting to the Internet through the base station. I also imagine that the self assigned IP address you mention is the IP address of that computer, rather than of the base station, and that that computer obtains an IP address from Comcast when the Snow is not distributing IP addresses.
Assuming that that computer is connecting wirelessly, then whatever settings that computer is using for TCP/IP and PPPoE in the AirPort part of System Preferences, while the computer connects to the Internet, should be the ones used for the base station, in the Internet pane of AirPort Admin Utility for Graphite and Snow. (Most likely, it is simply "Using DHCP.") The IP address obtained from Comcast should be received by the base station, when it is set to distribute IP addresses in the Network pane, and the IP address should show up in the Internet pane. (When the Snow is distributing IP addresses, it has two IP addresses itself, a WAN IP address obtained from Comcast and a LAN IP address, 10.0.1.1, visible only to devices in your network.)
Even when the settings are correct, the Snow might not be able to obtain an IP address if your cable modem remembers the computer, which had been receiving the IP address previously. You'll probably need to shut down the computers and unplug power to the base station and cable modem. After waiting 5 minutes, restore power to the modem, then after another 5 minutes, restore power to the base station, then after another 5 minutes, start up a computer.

  • WET610N will not connect to internet

I purchased the WET610N to use on my HDTV to stream Netflix via my 5GHz band, but my TV, xbox, PS3 will not work with the WET610N. The TV internet connection works with the Trendnet bridge my son uses on his xbox, but not with the WET610N.
My WET610N has been configured using the CD, IP configuration page and WPS. I have set it to use auto DHCP and static IP, with the settings matching the settings on my E4200. It connects to my local network with no problem, but will not connect to the internet. I've spent hours on the phone with Linksys support and they are unable to correct the problem. They sent me a replacement bridge (thinking the other bridge was defective), but the replacement is no different. The last tme I was on the phone with Linksys support, they told me there was nothing else they could do. Now I'm stuck with a remanufactured bridge that I cannot return to the store.
Any help will be greatly appreciated as this is about to make me crazy.

Connect the bridge to the router with the Ethernet cable.
Press and hold the reset button on the bridge for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait for 30 seconds. Power cycle the bridge.
Open the setup page of the router. Check the wireless settings of your router for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless band. Make sure that Wireless MAC filter is disabled on your router.
Go to Status tab and click on Local Network sub tab. Click on DHCP Client table and check for the IP address of your bridge.
Open the setup page of the bridge with the IP address. Assign a static IP address to the bridge ( for example 192.168.1.250, subnet mask 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.1.1 ).Save the settings.
Open the setup page of the bridge with the new static IP address. Click on Wireless tab and go to Wireless site survey sub tab.
Select your network and try to connect to the network.
If it shows connected then disconnect the bridge from the router.
Power cycle the router and bridge. Once powered on the router and bridge, try to ping the IP address of the bridge when wireless.
If you get replies then both the devices are communicating with each other.
If it does not work with 5 GHz wireless band then try with 2.4 GHz wireless band.

  • My Deskjet 3050 J610 will not connect to my Virgin WiFi router for use with Apple Mac laptop.

I live in the UK and have Broadband access via a Virgin connection and WiFi router. My Apple MacBook laptop connects to the WiFi with no difficulties. However I have an HP Deskjet 3050 J610 printer which will not connect to the router. When I try to connect, the blue light just keeps on flashing but a connection is not found. Consequently my MacBook cannot "see" the printer on the network. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • HP C4740 will not connect wirelessly to HP desktop

I have an old HP desktop (prob Pavillion) running Win XP Pro w/ SP 3.  I have 2 MB RAM.  I purchased an HP C4740 AIO printer about 6 months ago.  At first it hooked up fine and performed very well in wireless mode.  Then when replacing an ink cartridge one of the retainer tabs broke.  Long story short I had to replace the unit.  HP gladly did so and I got a brand new one.
When I got the new one I hooked it up and installed the software exactly per the instructions for use as a wireless printer.  Unfortunately, no matter what I do it will not connect to my wireless network.  The only way to use this printer is via USB cable.  Two things happen that I find interesting:  it does not recognize the printer (even thought it's connected by USB cable) and it doesn't recognize my wireless network (even though it does recognize another unknown network).  Even when I try to manually enter my network SSID and Passphrase it will not recognize it.  I have also tried unsecuring the network but still no success.
The network is secured but I have the SSID and passphrase information.  For reference, I have a Dell laptop and Lexmark printer that connect without issue.  My iPhone 4 connects without issue.  This C4740 will not.  I have uninstalled the software and even gone into the registery to locate and remove any entries associated with this printer.  Still nothing works in wireless mode.
Need help.  I am by no means a computer expert, especially with networking.  I know enough to be dangerous but still make it through the day!  I'm ready to toss this and pay the much higher price for the much more usable Lexmark!  Only problem is I'm just cheap enough that I'm willing to try to make this printer work.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Download the latest installer software for your printer on the link below and save it to the Desktop.
    ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software11/COL28119/mp-71555-3/PS_AIO_06_C4700_USW_Full_Win_enu_140_175...
Next download and install Revo Uninstaller from the link below.
    http://www.revouninstaller.com/download-freeware-version.php
Disconnect your printer from your PC.
Run revo and use it to uninstall your printer software.  Right click on the icon of the program you wish to remove and select Uninstall.  During the process you may be asked to delete registry entries, just select all and then click delete.  Do the same for any left over files and folders.  Once the uninstall has completed, reboot the PC.
Temporarily disable any security software ( Antivirus and Antispyware )
Now try running the software installer from your Desktop by double clicking the installer.  Do not connect the printer to the PC until the software asks ( Whether wired or wirelessly ).  If everything install Ok, remember to enable your security software.
    Hope this helps.
    Best wishes,
    DP-K

  • Apple TV (1st gen) will not connect to iTunes

I am at wit's end. Until a couple of days ago, my 1st gen Apple TV connected fine to iTunes. Now, it will not connect no matter what. I have tried the following:
    1) restart both ATV and my machine (Win 7 running iTunes 10.7)
    2) restored ATV factory settings and reinstalled software
    3) hard-wire via ethernet to my computer (which some articles seemed to indicate should work - nothing happened)
    4) hard-wired both my cpu and ATV to a router - nothing shows up
    5) removed and reinstalled all Apple programs, including iTunes, QT and ancillary
    6) vaired between hard-wired internet connection and wireless for ATV
    7) did everything on this page, including open ports manually http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1453
Most frustrating of all, my wife sees the device instantly in her iTunes. AGHH!

Same thing happened to me, starting right after I  updated the Apple TV firmware. I restarted both devices to no avail. I can, however, play my itunes library content from the apple TV's "computer" app. So there must be some kind of connection. What I've lost is the ability to stream music from iTunes using AppleTV as an "airplay" device.

  • My ipad recognizes my home network but will not connect to the internet. When I click on AirPort/preferences at the top of the imac screen it says..."AirPort has a self-assigned ip address and may not connect to the internet".How can I change ip address?

My ipad recognizes my home network but will not connect to the internet. When I click on AirPort/preferences at the top of the imac screen it says..."AirPort has a self-assigned ip address and may not connect to the internet". If this is the root of the problem, how can I change ip address?
Ipad will connect no problem to other networks.

First thing you need I think is to get your iMac connected to the Internet.
Shut down your iMac and you iPad. Then power off your router. Wait 30 seconds and power up the router.
After the router indicates that it is connected to the Internet then start up your iMac and see if it connects. If the iMac connects to the Internet then your iPad should too.
If this power up sequence doesn't work you'll have to dig into the router setup to make sure it is working properly.

  • Brand New C309g will not connect wirelessly with ANY wireless security options enabled

Printer will connect via wired ethernet. I can use the http utility.
Printer will connect via unsecured wireless connection.
Printer defaults to autoconfig (169.xxx)when connected  via WEP (both open and shared), will not connect with a manual IP address. Cannot access http utility.
Printer won't even autoconfig when connected via WPA-Personal - instead says "No connection found."
Printer is in the same uncluttered room as the router.
ALL OTHER wireless network devices work fine and keep up with security changes.
I have legacy devices on the network that make me want to run with WEP.
I've run the HP Network Diagnostic. It can access my router just fine. It cannot find the printer.
    Router is D-Link DIR-655.
I jump through the right hoops - refresh router, restore factory defaults on printer, etc. All other wireless network devices work fine.
I want to pull an "Office Space" on this brand-new printer - please save me from doing so!

Ooops, my mistake.  Thanks for pointing it out.
Another idea is to make sure the firmware is updated on the router.
Also, from the control panel of the printer: Setup > Network > Wireless Network Test.  It will self-test the printer radio.

  • New WIFI card will NOT connect correctly.

    Hi,
I just purchased a Gigafast WF748-CUI wireless card for my iMac G3 running Mac OS X Tiger (10.4.10) and I followed the instructions exactly and did everything right but it will NOT connect. It keeps generating these weird IP addresses beginning with 168. but my networks IP address begins with 192. I had the same problem with my previous WIFI card on the iMac but it would work eventually. I have been messing with this one for like 2 hours and it has shown no sign of working. I even entered a manual IP address in but still nothing. The program for the wireless card says its connected but it is not (or isnt connected to the right IP anyway). What do I do?

Sooo, there's no way the CP has to "Join" a Network? Just says you're connected to 169.x.x.x?
Might try making a New Location in Network CP, turn off all other Ports, the set the IPv4 settings to Manually...
    IP: 192.168.0.5
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    Router: 192.168.0.1
Assuming the Router is 192.168.0.1, but change the 2nd & 3rd digits accorcdingly.
