WRT120N Incoming Log Help

My incoming log is FILLED with incoming IP's and they are all connected to a port starting with 64-. I NEED HELP!!! I've tried changing my wireless internet with different passwords multiple times and I have upgraded my firmware

You might need to start from scratch on this one. Make sure to upgrade the firmware of your router and then reset the router afterwards. Reconfigure the settings of your router and then check if the logs will still show you the right value.

  • WRT54G Incoming Log Destination Port 520

I am trying to understand why an [Incoming Log Table] entry that recurs, i.e. in the page that presents itself when I navigate to the [Administration] Panel / [Log] Tab, and then click the [Incoming Log] button:
    =================================
    Incoming Log Table
    Source IP = 178.33.xxx.yyy
    Destination Port Number = 520
    =================================
After I clear the Log (i.e. turn it off, save settings, turn it on again, save settings) the entry will reappear after a few days.
I have never seen any other incoming log entry.
Since it has been pressed into service several years ago, my WRT54G has been configured to block any and all incoming connections. The settings as they continue to appear (under the [Security] Panel / [Firewall] Tab) are:
    =================================
Checked (Yes) = [Block Anonymous Internet Requests]
    Checked (Yes) = [Filter Multicast]
Checked (Yes) = [Filter Internet NAT Redirection]
Checked (Yes) = [Filter IDENT (Port 113)]
    =================================
I continue to have disabled all port forwarding, port triggering, the DMZ, and QoS, via the applicable tabs under the [Applications & Gaming] Panel. The WRT54G continues to be configured to operate as a Gateway (via the [Settings] Panel/[Advanced Routing] Tab). No static routes are defined. The routing table show four entries, none of which are remarkable or match in anyway the partial address identified above.
So I am under the impression that my WRT54G should be ignoring everything from the WAN-side.
Even pinging the WAN-side of my router from the outside internet times out.
My WRT54G ver 6 is at firmware level 1.02.8, which, as far as I can tell is the latest issued by Cisco.
I am completely perplexed how such a connection is being established, and do not know if it is or has the potential of causing any harm. My own research indicates port 520 is typically used for RIP protocol, but I have almost zero knowledge of such.
    I certainly appreciate any elucidation.
    My thanks for your attention.

Forgive me if I seem flippant, but I am not sure what kind of "glitch" you are looking to correct. If performing a factory reset procedure were already known to correct a specific problem, then I would seriously consider it. If performing a factory reset did not run the risk of injecting more problems through the process of having to redo firmware updates and settings, then I would seriously consider it. I am truly seeking insight into understanding the nature of the symptoms, and why they may be occurring. I am not looking for trial and accidental success.
    Thank you for you thoughts.
    Hi bonski,
The log means that the IP:  178.33.xxx.yyy (which is from your ISP) sends logs to port 520. Port 520 is your router. I believe it is saying that you ISP simply sends data to your router. This is normal since your router gets internet connection from the ISP. This is by the way base on my understanding about the research I've made.

  • Empty incoming log on a WRT300N v1

My WRT300N has empty incoming and security logs. The outgoing and DCHP logs have information. I have upgraded to the latest firmware on the linksys site.
Is this a problem with the router or can I assume no one is trying to access my machines? It jsut seems to me there should be something in the logs. I have searched the forum and the FAQ's and see nothing about this. The Help file doesn't answer the question. I did find a post about disabling the daylight savings time checkbox and tried this, but it did not work.
would appreciate any information people could offer. Thanks in advance.

Incoming logs will only registered if somebody is trying to access something in your network... like for example if your hosting any of the ff: a VPN, an online game, a file server or if your using a P2P network like Limewire...

  • Event Log Help Links No Longer Working?

Have the help links in the Windows XP event log entries been discontinued?
They used to open up the Help and Support Center with further information about the Event Log error if it was available.
For some time now they have all just given a "page not found" error, which then re-directs to Bing with offered results that are no use at all!
This happens now on every XP system I've tried it on.
As a user of Windows 8.1 as well as XP, I'm well aware that the Windows 8 Event Log help links have never worked so far, but the XP ones always did, and despite the looming "End of Support" I can see no reason for all that information to have been
    removed.
    Any explanation for this?
    Thanks, Dave Hawley.

Hi - thank you DaveHawley for the report. Just wanted to confirm that I've passed this on to the team that looks after the redirect service behind the "More Info" link.
There have been some major changes in how this redirection works over the years as well as in the last months. The most recent efforts added the option to enable use of the TechNet Wiki [sample]
to allow the community to comment & contribute for a given component. I'm only guessing here, but this might have accidentally impacted XP.
    Thanks

  • Linksys WRT54GL not logging for its "Incoming Log Table"?

    Hello.
Is it me or does Linksys WRT54GL v1.1, with its firmware v4.30.13, not log "Incoming Log Table"? I see nothing in http://192.168.0.1/Log_incoming.asp (yes, I changed its IP address from its default 192.168.1.1). I do see logs in its outgoing though. I assume incoming log table is logging blockages and other datas.
    Thank you in advance.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Same problem in IE6, SeaMonkey v2.0.6, Firefox v3.5.11, etc. on two different computers (Windows XP Pro. SP3 and Debian/Linux). I only see:
    Incoming Log Table
    Source IP Destination Port Number
No IP addresses, etc. Just empty logs. I also tried power cycling the router too.

  • WRT54G Incoming Log Table

    Hello,
I am currently using a WRT54G but the incoming log table does not populate with IP data, even though I have selected incoming logging in the Admin page.  Is there a firmware upgrade that I need in order to get this table to populate with IP data?  Thanks!

Make sure the Computers which are connected to the Router are getting the IP address from the Routers DHCP Server, If the Computers are assigned a Static IP that might be the reason you are unable to see the IP address under the Log table.
If still you are unable to see the IP address, then you can Disable the Log feature on your router and then Re-Enable it again and check if this solves your problem or not...
If still the same then you need to upgrade the firmware of your Router... Go to website linksysbycisco.com/downloads. ........insert model no of your router in serach tab......select proper version of your router........download the firmware file......save that file on desktop ..
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
    Now reset your router :
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

  • Wrt54g incoming log

I enabled logging on my wrt54g wireless routing and i see a bunch of ip addresses in my incoming log.  i dont understand why i would see incoming addresses.  security is activated on the router.  any info would be appreciated.

Basically the Incoming Logs are used when you go to any website Eg (www.yahoo.com) your router will send the data on the ineternet, and when your router will receive the data from Yahoo, it will receive in the form of IP address, the more website you browse the more IP address you will be able to see under Incoming Logs.

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions...

any help on how to fix this 13+ minute gap would be MOST appreciated - thanks!

Roam has made a good catch.
It looks like the long lag begins from Software Update. (Booting in Verbose mode or looking in system.log might give more clues as to what's going on.) Is Sys Prefs>Software Update set to automatically check for, or download, updates (daily?) If it is, it may, for some reason, be getting hung up there. Uncheck that preference and see what the boot time looks like.
I would create another admin account (I always have one set up for testing purposes) and see if the boot up is the same.
You may have a problem with Software Update
Delete the contents (not the enclosing folder) of this folder
    /Users/yourusername/Library/Caches/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate
And move this file to the Desktop:
    /Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
(there may be several more nearby titled "by host," with a long string of numbers; get those, as well.)
They are both in your Home Folder Library.
    Then restart.

  • Apache commons logging help

    Hello,
I am trying to use castor beans in a back end java
application that I instantiate from within a cold fusion page using
the cfobject tag. Castor beans has a dependency on a newer version
of apache commons logging than is shipped with Cold Fusion. I found
the following knowledgebase article that describes the issue, but I
can't seem to get it to work. The first thing is that I don't have
a WEB-INF/cfusion/lib directory, and secondly, if I create it (to
put the thirdparty directory in it) then I can no longer access my
applications main web page (this page is a simple cfm file with no
java calls or anything). Any help is appreciated.
    knowledge base article:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=98b79ee8
    thanks.

after looking into this further it appears that the solution
outlined in the knowledgebase article is geared toward the
multi-server configuration rather than in the self contained
configuration. Since I have ColdFusion Standard edition, it isn't
an option for me to use the multi-server configuration. Does anyone
know how to accomplish the same thing in Cold Fusion MX7 Standard
    Edition?
    thanks.

Actually I had a hunch this was iPhoto related as this app has become very very slow. Yes things are faster when iPhoto is off but not by much. Clearly nothing like it was 6 months ago and that included very slow startups and shutdowns...

  • NWDS: Writing to a log help!

Is it possible to use a print command (or somthing similar) to write a value of a variable to the log. I am trying to write a service and I want to debug the program so that I can catch the values that are being passed between objects.
    Can anyone help, please!

    Hi Phil,
to answer your original question: See logging for using the internal portal logger as well as for using the "new" common J2EE logger.
    Hope it helps
    Detlev

any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a ton to whoever helps!!
    Jason

    Hi Jason--
Hmm. I'd look at a couple of things. First, most of your panics mention USB in the backtrace, so have you recently installed a game controller or joystick or something like that? Especially if you had to install a driver for it (and had to reboot the computer, which would most likely mean a kernel extension).
The particular panic you're getting comes from the part of the operating system that manages memory allocation for peripherals. It's saying that it can't allocate that memory because the memory it's trying to allocate can't be used ("not mapped for I/O" in your log).
Disconnect all USB peripherals except your keyboard and mouse and see if you get the panic. And if you can borrow a keyboard and mouse from someone, you might try that, too.
Finally, this page has information on how to resolve kernel panics. He recommends you follow the procedures there in order. I especially agree with his suggestion to run the Apple Hardware Test first to rule out hardware failures.

  • Kernel panic log help needed

After reading through the discussions, I have come to the conclusion that my computer is experiencing kernel panic. For the last two weeks it has been asking me to restart after I start up. I do- and then it seems to run ok- but very, very slowly.
So, I restarted in safeboot in order to delete any "recent or relevant" .kext files i found in system/library/extensions.
I did not find any that were recent except for itunes update.
so, i deleted the bootcache.ktext. and restarted.
upon restart, my computer was doing great until i pugged in my usb from my modem into the comptuer to connect to the internet. then got the restart screen.
then i checked the panic log and found this:
    Sun Nov 20 13:02:09 2005
    panic(cpu 0): mutexunlockwakeup: mutex 2098d50 holder 2486630

i don't know what this means- but i see some "usb" letters in there and wonder if this has anything to do with the external modem that my broadband company gave me. although i've been using it for a while and this has only happened recently.
next idea, is that i have recently installed third party software. I cannot determine what was the most recent (is there a log of this?) so i can uninstall it (and how do you go about uninstalling software- just trash it?)
I have recently installed Skype software for VOIP- but i've had it for a month now and this has only happened in the last 2 weeks. I'd unistall it but do not know how.
If someone could look at that log and decipher it- that would be great.
and- honestly, i need a true step by step plan to slove the issue.
    thanks!!!

I will run the test after work today- do I just put in the installation disk or do i need to be in safe boot mode?
I think yours is a good theory- that would explain why my computer is suddenly sooo slow.
If my memory did get knocked out of place- will i have to send it in to be repaired?
But then again- how could this be connected to the USB port?
i've repaired permissions yesterday before the posting. it found lots of errors and said it repaired them. do i need to run it again until it doesn't find any?
The other thing i'm wondering is that I only have 17 days left on my warranty- Should I purchase applecare? i used to think this was ripoff but now i might be singing to a different tune.
Thanks for your help- i'll let you know how it goes this evening.

  • Really need logging help

Having just written my logging class, my formatting class etc.. have implemented it on the EJBs only to discover the no io permissions in the EJB spec.
This also happens if I put the logging in a singleton class and try to pass the message to that. I need to be able to write to XML from the EJBs and don't want to have to go through and change all my software to put JMS in having just done all of this!
Please can i change the permissions on the EJB container in sjsas and is this a server thing or xml/code thing? or are there other ways around it?

If you can't get help from the network administrator, you'll have to connect to another network or use a public VPN service such as StrongVPN (not a recommendation.)
