WRT150N host name lookup problem

When I try to access a computer on my LAN using the host name I get a unknown host message. When I use the computer's dynamically obtained ip address it works fine.
Does anyone know if there is a way to make a WRT150N router resolve the host name. My old router used to doit, but i can figure out how to make the WRT150N do it.

Let me know the Firmware you are using on WRT150N?
Try uploding the latest firmware on the website 1.01.9 ....

  • Host name lookups via ldap

Hi, I would like to have OS X do hostname lookups not just from dns and /etc/hosts but also from my ldap server. I've already gotten the connection to the ldap server established via Directory Utility, but can't find something that is equivalent to /etc/nsswitch.conf on OS X Snow Leopard. How would I configure the os to also query ldap for host names?

    This might help ...
    Dynamic LDAP settings
Pre-authentication process looked something like :-
    declare
    l_ldap_port NUMBER;
    l_ldap_server varchar2(200);
    l_ldap_dn_string varchar2(200);
    begin
    --get the ldap port number
    SELECT ldap_port
    INTO l_ldap_port
    FROM ldap_table;
--set the session state /for LDAP PORT
    htmldb_util.set_session_state('FXXX_LDAP_PORT',l_ldap_port);
--repeat for  host and dn dtring
    END;

  • Host Name Verification problem

Weblogic (8.1+) Host Name Verification is failing when I think it should succeed. I've read the docs but it doesn't sounds like there's an easy way to get it working other than to disable host name verification all together - is there?
    I get:
    <Warning> <Security> <BEA-090504> <Certificate chain received from test.authorize.net - 64.94.118.75 failed hostname verification check. Certificate contained *.authorize.net but check expected test.authorize.net>
    Thanks for any advice.

    Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately, it's not my certificate - it belongs to authorize.net and my code is trying to connect to them from my weblogic application.
Apparently their production certificate doesn't use wildcards, so this won't be an issue. Still, it's unfortunate that wildcards don't work with Host Name Verification. I suppose a workaround if it becomes a production issue to write my own verifier, but I was hoping not to.

  • Host name Fowarding problem

I have turn on/off my "websites" inside OSX Server 3.0.2 and now my cannot access my domain..
    here's my domain: http://www.ben-wan.com (Volumes/webhost/ben-wan)
    my virtual server: http://www.irissecret.com/ (Volumes/webhost/irissecret)
if I type in http://www.ben-wan.com, I will be FWD to http://www.irissecret.com/
but if I type in http://www.ben-wan.com/index.php then I can goto main page...
but typing http://www.ben-wan.com/ without not goto the correct page.
Can someone please let me know where I can check on how to fix this problem?
    Thanks.
    Ben

Have you been editing and making changes to .htaccess or related Apache configuration files?  Specifically, working with RewriteCond and RewriteRule settings here?  Either in the main configuration file or via local overrides?
Have you changed the default index file for the domain?  (Or differences in the Server.app configuration for the index files associated with the particular site?)
FWIW, Apache doesn't consider the domain that the server itself is using.  It's all virtual hosts.

Network error: Unable to lookup host names.
    any idea about this?

You tell us that this happens on one client. Are there other clients which work ok? If so then I would wonder about some problem with the install of the client on this PC. Perhaps you might un-install and install again?

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that the same shared folder can be accessed by name, but can’t be accessed be IP address and asks for credentials.
Please try to enable the option below on the device which has shared folder:
Besides, check the Advanced Shring settings of shared folder and confrim that if there is any limitation settings.
    Best Regards,
    Eve Wang

  • Host name problem

    Hi,
whenever I excute the web application ,it is not showing the result.I found that there is  a problem in configuring of host name by using the function module "RSBB_URL_PREFIX_GET".The value for E_URL_SERVER is in the format  ls3022 rather than ls3022.wdf.sap-ag.de.
So it has the only host name but not the domain (including the extension). How can i change this value to complete host name(including the domain).

  • BusinessObjects Enterprise HOST NAME PROBLEMS

As we can find in other posts, we know that BO has problems with underscore in the host name.
I read in some posts that the problem can be solved by writing the IP address instead of the host name when we use Infoview or whatever we need.
I've done two BO enterprise installations in two different Vitual Machines (made with Virtual PC).
I know that SAP guarantees that BO works fine only on VMware platform with the host name without underscores.
The host on the first Virtual Machine was named correctly, but after the installation I changed it inserting an underscore; after this the Infoview login interface didn't work. So I tried to write the IP address and It worked properly.
Trying to use Designer and Translation Manager I had  only to use the IP address instead of the current host name.
The host on the second Virtual Machine was named with an underscore, and after the installation I launched the Infoview login interface that didn't work. Again I tried to write the IP address and It worked properly, but in this case I couldn't launch the Designer and I couldn't import the universe from cms with the Translation Manager!!!
I got this exception opening the Designer:

    I'd like to know if:
    1) Is this a problem because of the Virtual PC virtual machine?
    2) Is this a problem because of the BO problem with underscore in the host name?
    and
    3) How can I resolve this problem without changing the host name?
    Thank you for your attention,

    Hi Agliano,
changing the Hostname of a Server after BO is installed is a bad idea ! The WAR files for your Tomcat are in some sort "hardcoded".
I would suggest re- deploying your war files on the Tomcat would fix this issue. Check SAP Note - 1308027 for assistance.

  • Login problem with E-Recruiting URL, where check host name?

    Hi,
I've set up a standard Recruiter user and assigned him the standard Recruiter security profile. When I run RCF_GENERATE_URLS, I get this URL:
    http://iwdfvm2160.wdf.sap.corp:51080/sap/bc/bsp/sap/hrrcf_start_int?sap-client=200&sap-language=EN&rcfSpId=0003
But I get an "internal error" when I login with my User. Our server's host name is iwdfvm2160.gcsap.com, but the program isn't resolving this. This is probably the cause of the error, but how can I get it to pick up our host name?
We are on E-Recruiting version 6, and it's running on the same box as HCM.
    Thanks, Vlad

    Hello Vlad,
usually the links generated from the report are correct. Only very rare problem might be in the network structure of your company that the internal dns servers can't resolve the server name or the sap servers are in a not reachable network segmant as you never worked with http access to the servers for other applicatiohns.
But if you log on the first time with your user and have not been working with the application yet, the more probable reason for this error is the missing candidate for e-recruiting. Without a candidate you won't be able to work with the application.
Check transaction SLG1. There should be an error "No candidate for User <your username>" or sth. similar.
If so run report RCF_CREATE_USER to get a candidate. Then you should be able to log on.
If you already have a candidate and cannot login check SLG1 and SM21 for error messages. If there are any but you don't feel able to solve the logged problem. Just post the message here. I think someone will be able to help.
    Best Regards

  • Problem with getting a service ticket - ignoring host name?

    Hello,
I've been struggling with this for several weeks on and off. The latest issue I have, is that when I try to obtain a service ticket it replaces the hostname I use with the ip address of the server. This then results in a 'Server not found in Kerberos database' exception.

  • Problem with OAS Instance Name y Host Name to create trial ssl certificate

    Hi, everyone
I have a problem when creating a trial ssl certificate from Verisign page, affer a live assistance, that page rejected my CSR generated from OAS, saying thay my common name has invalid characters.
My Oracle Application Server installation name: Instance.HostName is:
    IAS_IND01.ind-internet
So, Verisign told me this name can't contain "_" or "-" characters for example.
I need to know if it's possible to change the instance name and if OAS host name changes also if i change server's host name.
I wouldn't like to reinstall all over again.
    Please help.
    Regards
    David

    Hi,
No your AS server will not automatic. even if you change your host name.
If U 'll try to change your host name, be carefull when U 'll try to start you AS instacne
it ' not start anymore , AS user hosts fill to get full quallified name of your host.
    U 've two choices
-1 delete your AS, then change your hosts name, then new installtion of AS
2- If U 've exprience with AS, just breng your AS down, change your hosts name,
U 'll need to do some changes in your AS, just read admininstrator Guide.
    Cheers,

I got some problem during installation of AS 2005Q2, when I install and select 'Config Now' option, I cannot pass since the DNS hostname always fail.
If I select 'Config Later', I will find something is missing, like asadmin tool is not avaiable.

  • My host name changes every few days, since Xmas adding a macbook its changed 6 times. Do I need to stop this? Does it cause problems with sharing between the iMac and macbook?

my host name changes every few days, since Xmas adding a macbook its changed 6 times. Do I need to stop this? Does it cause problems with sharing between the iMac and macbook?

There are several possible causes for this problem.
    1. Two (or more) computers on the local network have the same Bonjour name, such as "X's-MacBook-Pro.local".
    2. You have two simultaneous connections to the same local network: probably Ethernet and Wi-Fi. If applicable, disconnect the Ethernet cable or turn off Wi-Fi.
    3. A Mac wakes from sleep due to network traffic. This is due to a bug in OS X that may only affect some models.
    4. A device that gets its network address from the router wakes from sleep, and the address it was using before has been assigned to another device.
    5. A third-party wireless router has incompatible settings or firmware. In that case, refer to the manufacturer or ISP for support. Restarting the router may help, temporarily.
    6. See also this support article.
Rename the computer in the Sharing preference pane.

  • Host name problems

    Hi,
I have a server set up with something.info as the host name, and everything is set up so that I can point the browser to something.info and it reaches the server. But I keep getting alert messages that my host name has changed, at random, to something.info.home. I have done absolutely nothing to provoke the change, and when I change it back to something.info it won't be long before it changes to something.info.home.
Is there a reason for this?
    Thanks.
