WRT160 doesn't seem to be able to support both PC and Apple devices on at the same time
we have 2 PCs, a macbook and an iphone. we use a cable modem with the WRT160 router. since thursday the 2 PCs can connect to the internet at the same time, but the mac then loses its connection as does the iphone. if the mac and iphone are connected, the minute we start up a PC, the mac and iphone lose their connection and can't reconnect. Apple couldn't help and said it was the router. Anyone have any ideas on what the problem is and how to fix it?

Just start playing music in the Music app and switch to another app. Either tap the home button to go back to the home screen to find another app, or swipe up from the bottom of the screen if you have Mutlitasking gestures enabled in Settings>General>Mutlitasking Gestures>on - or swipe from screen to screen to get to another App.
Yoy can listen to Pandora Radio, Tuned In Radio, iHeart Radio - any music or radio app while you use another app. -
My icloud and Apple ID aren't the same email address. My phone wont let me change my icloud email. I don't know the password to my icloud account, and every time I try to email myself the password, it doesn't go through.

Your Apple ID and iCloud email address don't need to be the same, you can't change an iCloud email address.
Also check your Mail rules and filtering, the verification mail may be going to a junk folder or even being deleted altogether. You may also wish to contact your mail provider to see if their spam filters are removing the email before it gets to you. -

Thats not possible I'm afraid, only the Apple TV can receive an AirPlay stream, and even then only one at a time, unless you stream from a computer. -
No longer able to see more than one window on screen at the same time
In the last 2 days or so, I am no longer able to have a Safari window on screen at the same time as my Mail window. Same with Applications, I was working on a project in InDesign and wanted to check out how to print it booklet & double sided with my Epson printer but as soon as the Safari window is on screen the Indesign one disappears, which is no use at all for following instructions. I used to be able to have numerous windows available on screen at the same time (4 isn't unusual for me).
Does anyone know what has changed? The only thing I'm conscious of doing was moving my dock and hiding it so I've put it back to where it was and always visible but I still can't have 2 different windows on screen at the same time. Any help/advice gratefully received, thanksNot sure I understand!
Do you get an error when attempting to have two windows opened?
A silly question on my part maybe but have you tried resizing the windows to more than one will be visible?
To re-size a window left click the mouse to grab the bottom right corner of the window, hold the click and drag the window up, down, left or right to re-size.
Alternately you can try clicking the green plus button on the on the top left corner of the window. This will automatically re-size the window to its best viewing size.
Did you by change change the resolution of your monitor from System preferences?

I rented two HD movies on Apple TV, both at the same time. I was able to watch one, but the second says - "error while loading this content, try later" - well I tried later numerous times and continue to get the same message. What is my next step??
No, the film will be available for 30 days, but once you start watching it the clock will start running and it will expire after 24/48hrs (depending on location).
You said you rented on Apple TV, which has no accessible storage. When you choose to watch it starts to cache to the small flash drive, which is then flushed when you access another movie (or any other content). Everything is streamed so it will need to load each time. If you want to store any content you need to do so via computer.
Network issues can also contribute to seeing such an error. If on wifi, try ethernet. Make sure DNS is set to auto (settings - general - network). You can also see the status of your network by getting a report (istumbler, netstumbler or similar), to look for signal strength, noise, nearby networks.
Other services use adaptive streaming so they won't be much of an issue. -

Sometimes while talking over VOIP (sip phone app) with my girlfriend on the bed, i would like to open youtube and watch anime at the same time.
I dont mind youtube being muted because there are subtitles to be read.
But everytime i turn on the youtube, it seems that that the sound on the other side (voip) will get muted.
Is it possible for sound 2 be playing at both app (i just choose which one to mute) so i can play game, see youtube while talk to my gal on the internet through ipad2 ?

No, I connected the midi-in from the blofeld to midi-out from the virus. I was told to do so by the guy who sold me the ultralite mk3.
I made some tests before getting the ultralite... I used the Virus soundcard as audio device and I could control the blofeld. But I had to link my monitor to the Blofed Out... then I wasn't able to listent to the Virus. But this way I could play the Blofeld in Logic (but couldn't see any midi data and when I bounced I had no sound)
That's the main reason I decided to buy an external audio device (to be able to play both the Virus and the Blofeld)
But I think the way I connected Blofeld to Virus is right because I can see the light which means it receives midi data.
I think it's more about how to set it within logic...
And the Blofeld only gets one Midi connection: Midi In
Both my Virus and Blofeld are also connected to my MacPro via USB, that's the reason I didn't connect the synths to the ultralite via midi...

Acrobat is not on the USB device - only Adobe Reader needed on the PC. How does this work? How can I fix this device if at all?
You need to ask the people who sold it to you. Doesn't sound like it has anything to do with Reader.
However, you should be wary of devices that automatically try to open files when plugged in. They can also infect your computers with all kinds of viruses or malware. -
Not able to keep two OEM ( 11g) Database Console open at the same time.

I am running into issues when I try to keep two instances ( TEST and PROD) of Oracle 11g on the same server open in OEM Database Console.
The issue is when i try to loginto the 2nd OEM database control page on a new tab of internet Explorer ( when the Ist DB console is open in another tab), it close the first one and open the 2nd instance.
Also trying opening two seperate IE sessions ( without tabs) , still its logs out the Ist instance.
Any idea why this is happening and How could I have both the OEM DB consoles open at the same time. please advice

There are two types of Database Enterprise Managers, one is Database Control(free tool) and another is Grid Control(paid tool). The one that you are using is a free tool with the limitation that at one time, there can be only one database which can be managed by it. For each database managed by DBC, there is a different port number assigned and only when you use DBC at that specific port number, you can manage the said database. You can check the initially assigned port numbers for the databases in the file *$OH/install/portliist.ini*. You can have a read about about it over here,

The Grid control can manage all the databases under one window only but its a paid version of EM so it can't be used without a proper license.

Is Cleartype able to support both RGB and BGR sub pixel panel displays at the same time?

I am using 2 27' LED displays on my PC. One has RGB sub pixel, the other has BGR sub pixel.
I have problem to tune the font using Cleartype. I have tried to tune all displays a few times and always get the following result.
If I use the RGB one as the primary display, the font on the RGB display looks ok but the font on the BGR display looks weird after tuning using cleartype.
If I use the BGR display as the primary, the font on the BGR display looks ok but the font on the RGB display looks weird after tuning using cleartype.
Basicly, the after tuning with Cleartype, the font on the Primary display looks good but on the other looks weird.
I have also tested with single display setup. i.e. connect only the RGB sub pixel display or the
BGR sub pixel display.
ClearType tuning works well for single display setup no matter which display I have connected.
But once I connect the 2nd display and tune using Cleartype, the font on the Primary display looks good but on the other looks weird. (The same as above)
To be more specific, the RGB display is Philips 278C4 (connect using HDMI), the BGR display is Dell P2714H (connect using DisplayPort. I have also tried DVI. DisplayPort or DVI give same result).
My system is Win 8.1 Pro x64 JA-JP with all latest patches installed, and my graphic card is nVidia GTX 760, with the latest driver installed.
I suspect this is due to one display has RGB sub pixel panel, and the other has BGR sub pixel panel, which means
Windows ClearType need to take care both RGB and BGR for at the same time. I am not sure if this is fully supported by Windows 8.1 ClearType.
Is there any solution or workaround to make the font on both displays looks nice?

Windows includes several technologies to render text on the screen. These include Windows GDI, Direct Write and Windows Presentation Foundation.
Windows GDI is limited to using one set of ClearType settings per system
while the other two support different settings per display.
It depends. Most LCD screens have a RGB striping order. A very small number have a striping order of BGR.

Captivate Subscription - Doesn't seem to be able to verify my paid subscription
This one might be beyond the technical expertise of the community at large, but I will give it a shot.
My 5.5 and 6 subscriptions worked fine in the past, but 7 just doesn't seem to be able to see that I have a paid subscription. Here is what has transpired so far ...
I was a beta tester with Captivate 7 and had the normal trial count down in that beta.
Captivate officially launched before the beta trial expired.
I uninstalled the beta and downloaded and installed the official Captivate 7 version. I kept my order ordered active for my month by month Cativate 6.
When I started using the new full version of 7, it opened each time in trial version mode with the countdown picking up from where I left off in the beta version. When I clicked I the option to register it took me to a seriel number page. The Captivate team and Adobe tech support had me download and install Captivate 7 multiple times without a change. During the week the team was helping with the serial number loop, on my own I had the idea that maybe if I just make a new order of a monthly subscription that might kick it in. It didn't work. THe team broke me out of the serial number loop by having me rename a file so it could be rebuilt.
With the serial number loop gone, I went to cancel my Captivate 6 and 7 month to month orders and kept the year commitment one.
Now I get a message that says "Subsription Expired. Unable to connect to the internet. Plaes check your connection settings and chose Try Again." Then a bit lower in the same message box it says "Your subscription for Adobe Captivate 7.0 has expired. Go to the Subscription Manager to renew your subscription ..." There is a count down and I am at about day 16 or so now. It will stop working at 0 I assume.
My internet has been up and down for the last 6 weeks due to my ISP overselling their bandwidth which I mention in case that may be playing a part in the problem. I have contacted Adobe support and verified with them that my account is indeed paid and active. Then they transferred me to tech support and they had me reinstall the new Creative Cloud interface that runs in the system tray. That seemed to work, so I signed out of tech support. Next morining the message popped up again, so I guess that fix wasn't a fix after all. It was just the message took too long to pop up to accurately confirm the fix.
At the Drag and Drop Extravaganza seminar, someone said they had some issues because they had two Adobe IDs and their fix was to get the subscription all to one. As far as I can tell I have only one Adobe ID, but I am not entirely sure how to be 100% certain. She said she didn't know she had two IDs before the problem. If anyone knows how I can be sure. let me know.

Had the iPAD 2 over 3 months and it just doesn't seem to be able to do anything
My downloaded a movie from iTunes and even though I know I have a very strong wi fi connection it is saying ti will take over 8100 secs to down load. This is not the first time I have had problems with this. I would think that if something is ordered dirtly form the iStore it would work on the idevice. No flash, no Microsoft, no nothing. I fill cheated out f $700. What purpose does the ipad serve? I can't even use it to log into my onlne classes. I want my money back. I could have gotten a netbook and been at least able to watch my dvds!!!!!

That is entirely up to Microsoft in regards to providing an Office version for the iPad if that is what you mean, but that doesn't prevent you from viewing Word, Excel, or PowerPoint documents received via email, and there are some 3rd party apps that provide for transferring Office documents from your computer to your iPad via the iTunes sync/transfer process, and some allow for this wirelessly when your computer and iPad are connected to the same wireless network. Apple also has a Pages and Numbers version for the iPad which allows for creating word processing and spreadsheet documents and is compatible with Word and Excel.
If purchased within the last 14 days, you can return it for payment credit. If past 14 days, demand for the iPad remains very high so sell it and use the proceeds to purchase a device that meets your most important needs and wants - doing some research beforehand. -
need lightroom 4.4 asmac is 10.6.8 and not compatible with anything higher. Does this come with the creative cloud? Would really like a disc but that doesn't seem to happen anymore. Currently have cs4 and d7100 hence need 4.4 to open raw Any ideas? Is this now customer service or does adobe have a customer service team . Site not user friendly. Thanks

No; but then, I've not had occasion to use TDM. I've been using firerwire drives for over 10 years, both FW400 and FW800, with no issues except a bit of instability using a B&W G3 machine.
TDM should be safe. Using cautious, manual copying of files from the Target machine to the Host machine should not result in unexpected loss of files or damage to the Target drive's directories. It should behave exactly the same as if it were an external (to the Host) firewire drive.
• I don't suppose there is anything I can do to 'put back' lost items from a separate Time Machine drive which has an up to date backup on it.
There is probably a way to do that - seems to me that's one of the reasons for a Time Machine volume.
On the other hand, if the Time Machine volume is rigidly linked to the now-absent OS on the original drive, there may be no way to effectively access the files in the TM archive.
I know that using a cloned drive would work well in this instance.
I have no experience with Time Machine, so perhaps someone who has will chime in with suggestions.
With the machine in TDM with the other machine, have you tried running Disk Utility to see if you can effect repairs to the drive? -
