WRT160N in Bridge HELP

I just bought the WRT160N as my main router. I also have a comstar router that i'm using in bridge mode and everything is working fine. I have the comstar hooked up to a laptop and a PS3 most of the time it work's with no problem. The problem starts when i stream a movie from my main desktop that is hard wired with the WRT160N. Videos start of fine both HD/Non HD (h.264/Divx) but the problem is half way through (about 40 minutes in) the video either freezes or the ps3 gives me a error (different error each time) and i have to wait like 2 minutes and i'm back up and running but have to start the video all over again and after another 40minutes it happens again, I have to restart at least 3 times in order for me to finish watching the video. How can i solve this??
To me it seems like the packates get out of sync or something or either it send to much data and the comstar is not able to handle it. This issue has been happening with a D Link DIR-615 also which i returned for WRT160N. I don't think its the comstar that is causing the issue since a friend has the same comstar router and his works fine. So i think it maybe a settings issue and i don't know of an other router that has bridge support under $50 dollars.
Can anyone recommand any changes that i can try within the advanced wireless settings that may help fix the issue??

What is the IP Address you are getting from the comcast router..and how it is connected to the Linksys router ?
Try reducing the MTU to 1364 on the setup page of the router and then,try..........

The Output function in Bridge CC is missing. I attempted to install the fix that was available via Bridge help. The WinZip download worked fine. I found the recommended file location. The fix did not install. What else can I use? When will an update be available? Thanks.

In CC, I am forced to leave Bridge, go into the application, and Open the file through the system dialog box.
That is not normal behavior (at least on my Mac I still have all installed applications as option under this menu). By default the open with menu under the righty mouse menu should show all installed applications on your system. It sometimes even shows them double in case of attached disks with back up etc.
This has not changed in Bridge CC. If you have those applications installed on your system at the same location as Bridge they should show.
First try a reset of preferences for Bridge with holding down control key while restarting Bridge and choose rest preferences from the provided menu.

WRT160n V3 connection bridge help!

Is there anyway I can set up this router to bridge my connection. I only have 1 ethernet port on my laptop, so i was wondering if i could set up the wifi to bridge it to my xbox, i was hoping to connect to the internet thru the wifi on my laptop, and then pluging my xbox to the laptop by the ethernet port and having the xbox connect to the internet using the wifi of the computer like a bridge connection. im running windows vista 64bit home premium, and a WRT160n V3 router.
Any tips/help will be much appreciated. Thank you

You cannot use your laptop to bridge your xbox to your WRT160N. IPhoto to Photoshop Elements 4.0 (Bridge help)

I upload all of my photos to IPhoto and organize them into albums. Sometimes I edit them in Photoshop Elements (2.0), and have had absolutely no problem in doing so. I just upgraded to Elements 4.0, which causes me to have to use Bridge to browse for my photos. The problem I am having is that not all of my pictures are viewable in Bridge. When I switch back over to ELements 2.0 I can see them all. But in Bridge it is a random sampling as far as which photos I can see and which ones I can't. If I pull the photos into Elements, I can view and alter them, so they are not corrupt files. I have tried emptying the cache, and reinstalling bridge . . . no luck. HELP!!!
Also in Elements 4.0 my pictures look bad . . . they print out OK, but on screen they look pixelated (my word, hope you know what I mean.)
I need to decide if Elements 4.0 is for me . . . so far, I'm not happy! I'd really appreciate some help!

Have to or want to? You don't have to use Bridge. You can still use iPhoto like you used to and set PSE4 at your editor or choice in iPhoto's preferences. I've tried Bridge and it's not an image management application, only a browser. iPhoto is an management tool in that it can group photos via albums, keywords, etc.

Browse in Bridge help Premiere CS4

I am working on a large scale project that mixes audio and video from several videos, so I am working on them separately and then combining them into one file with the segments I actually need. I assume that Browse in Bridge is the tool I need to use in order to do this properly, but every time I reopen the main project, all the audio I used through Browse in Bridge does not work. It is still present and the key frames are still marked, but there is no frequency and no audio when I play it. The video transfers fine. What is going on?
Am I doing something wrong? Is there a different tool I should be using in order to work cross-projects? Please help…

I think that I see the problem. Bridge is an Asset cataloging program, that can be launched from within PrPro (or PS, or AI, or InDesign, etc.), or as a stand-alone program. When one launches from within one of the Adobe editing programs, there is a direct link. When you Browse in Bridge, and find what you want, you then need to Dbl-click it, to Import it into the program, from which it was launched. In PrPro, this will Import it into the Project Panel, and then when you do a Save, it will still be linked from there to its location on your system. I would guess that this is the step missing.
If you launch Bridge from AI, but want the Asset to be Imported into PrPro, then you need to do that in a bit more of a manual fashion, same as if you launch it from PS, but want the Asset (depending on the format) to Open in AI, you must do that linking from Bridge manually.
Working in PrPro, when you launch it, and Dbl-click the Asset, the link is direct to the Project Panel. Note: when doing this, it's wise to first Select the Bin, where you will want that Asset to be Imported into, or you will then need to do some housekeeping later on, dragging say the Audio to the Audio Bin.

CS4 Bridge Help

2 questions I recently went from PC to Mac and I always edit most of my images in Bridge cs3 on pc from my external hard drive and not that I am doing it in Mac from my external hard drive on Bridge cs4 to things happen which I need help on
1) Files that I have added stars to effects to - they are not showing up in bridge cs4
2) When I try to save an effect on an images in bridge cs4 from my external it says, " Unable to save the raw conversion settings"
Please help as I have tons of work to finish

Besides this, as always when using Safari and pointing to a link for a pdf from Adobe there is troubles. The Bridge file did manage well with its 4,5 MB but the PSCS4 pdf link stayed blank for a long while, then started to show the first page but the download process did hang on about one-third and the cursor stayed on the famous spinning pizzawheel, Safari needed a force quit. Clicking on the pdf link topright and use right mouse click to download was without problems. In Firefox there where no problems at all.
Thought I let you know, just made the transition to Leopard 10.5.5 and expected it was only Tiger related but it seems not.
However, i have both pdf manuals on my disk, thanks again for that

I'm having a problem in the Win98 Device Manger. In the device manager, there is a question mark next to other devices, and below it, there is an exclamation/question mark next to Other PCI Bridge Device.
What is this Other PCI Bridge Device? Is there a driver for it or is this a hardware problem? How do I fix that?

AMD Duron 1.3g
Win98 - clean, new install.
Via 4-1 drivers installed.

Try extracting the files from the 4-in-1's to a folder, then try updating the drivers for your PCI bridge, pointing it to the folder you extracted the files into, when asked. It should load a driver for the South Bridge chip.

Wireless Bridge Help

I have a Wireless P2P bridge set up between two buildings. They are about 450 feet apart, Root bridge has a 16dbi Yagi antenna (ebay) and nonroot has a 12dbi Flat Panel antenna. Both bridges are 1231G APs set to Root and Nonroot mode, respectively. I have a few questions. Right now the link is working and is reliably connected. My data rates right now are 1.0 , 2.0 , 5.5 , 6.0 , 9.0 , 11.0 , 12.0 , 18.0 , 24.0 , 36.0 , 48.0 , 54.0                                   Mb/sec on both sides. I consistenly get on the lower end of the scale, usually hovering around 5.5-12mb/sec range on the nonroot side. Root is typically transmitting at 48 or 54 mb.
My signal should be pretty good at -61 and 34-37 SNR, right?
At work we have a wireless bridge (1310 hardware) and it is set to :::speed basic-9.0 basic-12.0 basic-18.0 basic-24.0 basic-36.0 basic-48.0 basic-54.0::: so I went into mine (1231G hardware) and set it to the same. Voila! I connected at 24-54mb. All seemed well - until I noticed that now that I wasnt using the B rates, I had a spotty connection that was going up and down. Changed it back to all rates, and I again have a stable connection.
What can I do to stabilize and set the connection to OFDM rates so it will be fast and reliable? The distance really shouldnt be an issue, and I can see from one antenna to the other. Would 2 panel antennas be better? Should I find higher gain antennas? Should I switch to the 1310 hardware because it is designed as a bridge? HELP!!!

Tonight I installed a matching panel antenna (l-com HP2414) on my side, and have similar results (actually worse results at first). I upped my side transmit to CCK 30 and OFDM 30 from 20/20 and now have about the same performance (see red below). I have a question - how important is it to have the wifi antenna clear? I have it mounted on the same mast as our TV antenna- see pic attached. Should I move it to it's own mast? I can mount another one on a second chimney if necessary, or raise the TV antenna up a few feet.
I am also not past sticking a yagi at both sides if that will improve my signal to noise ratio...connection still is around 36-54mb, but download speeds on the other side are still only 6mb, not the full 25 we get on the wire off the core, or even the 16 I got on the test nonroot bridge I set up at the same side as the root.

Bridge Help Please

Hello all,
I've been playing with the activeX bridge for a bit now, working off of several of the tutorials that I've found on this forum.
Here is my problem, I create a simple bean (the Person bean from the previous big thread) compile it, jar it with a manifest file, run the packager, register it with the registry.
Everything works great, then I open up the Microsoft ActiveX Control Pad to test it, I can add it, mess with the properties, but as soon as I close it. Bang the control pad crashes. Am I doing something wrong? Can ActiveX Beans only be dynamically allocated?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

}the two things that are different are one, the bean implements Serializable which is it is supposed to do to be a JavaBean anyway and two, there is a workaround for a memory bug that essentialy means that the originally invoked class that makes up the bean should extend a GUI component preferably on that has a dispose method (one that extends java.awt.Window)

2) your problem. i suspect it may have something to with the first part. the bad news is i used to have the Active X Control Container but i re-installed and i can't find my vs cds right at the moment so i can't test what you are testing for now. the so-so news is i rememeber using the container and i don't remember any problems once i actually got it working. the good news is a took the above revised code and actually tested it this time and i tested it in word and it all works fine and no crashes on shutdown.

Third Photo is saved as JPEG in Photoshop (Print Screen Image) - Notice no strange black pixels
Sorry there's no consistency in crop but why am I seeing these strange black pixels and why do they disappear when saved as jpeg or same photo viewed in different viewing software? Please help.

Wireless to Wireless bridge help needed

Folks....
I think I am looking for a wireless to wireless bridge.
My next door neighbor & I are splitting the cost of a fast Internet connection. He is transmitting the signal to me (and to his home) using a WAP54G access point. I can pick up the signal in my yard, but not in the house (well, by one window only).
I want to:
1) receive his signal (wireless), AND re transmit it over my home.
2) I found a nice, high gain directional antenna and mounted it outside and pointed it to his WAP54G. I have run wire from it to the inside of my home.
3) I found a nice omni-directional antenna I have mounted on the top of my home and have run wire to the where the access point will live (this is also the place where the directional wire goes to.
4) I have both Macs and PCs which are wireless. When I take the computers outside the house, they can all connect just fine to my neighbors transmission.
My question:
I *think* (but I am not sure) I can both receive AND transmit from only one access point (say, WAP54G for example). Is this true?
If this is not true, what is a good wireless solution to my above problem? I can not run eithernet cable to my neighbors house. We like to video conference and I do not want to degrade the fast broadband signal. I want a 802.11G solution. A 802.11b solution would be too slow.
I have emailed and spoken to Linksys tech support, but they do not understand me well enough to help me. The emails from them are useless.
I have looking over all the Linksys Knowledge base but have not found the answer.
Can someone point me to a knowledge base about this, or web site, or anything?
I am pulling my hair out. Can someone toss me a bone?

There are several options you could use to do this. If you do a search for wireless CPE's you will find a HOST of Outdoor wireless directional antenna setups running POE so you can tap it RIGHT into any router you may have availible in your home. WRT54G/WRT54GS/Etc. The CPE will run you a pretty penny, but because you are so close to the source signal, I wouldnt suggest getting a CPE with anything more then 14dBi, Which is signifagntly cheaper. This CPE will allow you to run it in bridge mode, and feed it directly to your router. your neighbors router will see the CPE as just another wireless client, and wont even see the router behind the CPE. PRESTO! you have both a wireless internet connection from your neighbors house, but also your OWN independant WIFI solution in YOUR home! and the CPE's are capable of data transfers = to a T1 line, so dont worry about signal or speed degradation. Browse in Bridge HELP !!!!!

Hi, I am having a slight difficulty whilst using Dreamweaver CS5 trying to open Bridge!
I have located a file, then created a new paragraph after first line. Now in file menu I have clicked 'Browse in Bridge' but nothing will open, in fact, nothing happens at all !
Am I doing something obviously wrong that I am missing ??

I checked the startup scripts of Bridge CS 5. All programs listed there are checked. I tried disabling and re-enabling all, but the Captivate - Bridge interaction does not work still.
Another thing of note, prehaps - when I clicked to show the startup scripts folder, the folder was empty.
Also, I have tried reseting Bridge to factory settings (press CTRL while starting Bridge), but even that did not help.
I am using Windows 7 Professional 64bit.

Setting WRT160N as Bridge

I upgraded the firmware to v3.0. I expected a "Bridge" connection type option, but non appears. How do I set the WRT160N as a bridge? - Thx!

This router doesn't have the option to be set to Bridge mode. This is the release notes for the firmware version 3.0 (3.0.03 build 3) : Fixed issue with NMH series, Fixed PPTP client cannot get ICMP response from Internet, Fixed issue with NTP, Fixed issue with L2TP UDP packets can be received in Internet side, Fixed TZO and DyneDNS not automatically updating, Fixed some Wireless protected setup issue, Fixed wireless channel 11 being unstable, Fixed some wireless throughput issue, Fixed UPnP issues, Fixed ICMP packet fails to go through when over 20% payload, Fixed QoS function when saving settings, Fixed Access restrictions not working correction when time expires, Fixed double NAT issue, Fixed Website redirection issue, Fixed AMG issue, Fixed Multicast issue, Fixed minor issues. I'm using Premiere CS3 (also have Bridge). I'm editing on AspectHD, and I'd like to have my co-editor working on his machine with DV version of the footage.
To have him have exactly what I've got so far, I went this way:
- saved a copy of my project file
- offlined all video clips it copy and kept audio files online (to avoid
having to reconnect them, by having my co-editor have them in the same
drive path and directory as I do so they reconnect automatically)
- I imported CFHD project in a brand new DV project (so that my co-editor
can work in it and have proper specs)
So now I have an offline DV version of my project file with audio online, but when I try to reconnect medias with the DV clips, I need to reconnect them one by one; even more, I need to select them 2 times each before Premiere recognizes and accepts them as the proper media.
When I just Make Offline and Reconnect Medias in my project file and keep the HD media, I just need to select and tie one file in each folder that hold clips and Premiere does the rest, but now it won't do it for this particular project.
I talked with ADOBE tech support and the guy told me it was how Premiere works, but couldn't help me out as to if BRIDGE could help me help PREMIERE reconnect all my file in batch instead of spending 1-2 days doing so.
Anyone got any idea how to use Bridge in this case ?

Nope. Just like Premiere, AE will interpret your offline files as the proper sources and require you to reconnect each of them manually. Even using proxies would have no benefits here as it does not update the timelien structure. I'm wondering, though, since you both use Premiere, can't you just export an EDL or AAF and then re-import? I rarely use Premiere, but seems exactly what you would want to do. Would be simple on Avid systems...
