WRT160N log-in credential problem

I recently set up a WRT160n wireless router/access point for a friend.  I've set these things up numerous times but never with this specific model.  I successfully got into the device wirelessly, changed the SSID, changed the password, and set up WEP, generated the key, saved the information.  The laptop i'm using has Windows Vista Business SP1.  The nic sees the WRT160n fine, and I go to connect, it asks me to enter additional information, asking for user name (there is none), password (which i entered), but then it asks for a domain name.  There is no domain.  The computer is stand alone just using the router, so I assumed it meant for me to enter "workgroup".
No matter what combination of information, wep key, password, etc it will not allow me to connect to it.  I am stuck now with this thing (which works perfectly when encryption is not applied) unsecured.
Im grateful for any insight or solutions or suggestions anyone can provide.
Thanks in advance.

I'm having the exact same problem only with the 120.  Every other computer in the house is connecting fine except this desktop.  Yesterday, it wouldn't boot past the Dell logo screen.  I opened the case, disconnected the hard drive.  I pulled a hard drive from a different identical desk top, put it in and booted.  It booted fine.  I took the new hard drive out and put the original back in.  Booted fine.  Connected to the network fine.  Shut it down overnight then booted this morning.  Booted fine but will not connect to the network.  Is asking for the user name, password and domain logon.  I haven't set up a user name, password or domain logon anywhere.
I've manually deleted the wireless network and manually created it 10 times.  Still won't connect.
i'm at my wits end.  Any other suggestions?

  • Outlook credential problem

    We migrated our Exchange server from 2007 to 2013. My email worked fine for two months. Now I have a problem.
    A couple times per day, my outlook 2013 prompts me for credentials.
    In most cases, this problem is fixed automatically. Even I don’t enter the password, Outlook woks after it prompts for the credentials for a couple minutes.
    It is not connectivity issue because all computers I try have the same problem. Also my emails on iPhone and OWA have the same problem.
    I am only user have this problem.
    I don’t have credential problem when I login the network.
    When I see NEED PASSWORD warning on the right bottom, I don't need to enter the password. I double click on NEED PASSWORD, then Outlook works and change back to CONNECTED TO.
    7. sometimes, I see this message and it tries to connect to
    https://exchange.ourdomain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml that is exchange 2007. the new exchange server should be mail.ourdomain.com.

    Hi,
    It’s abnormal that Outlook still tries to find the old autodiscover point.
    This issue can occur if the old Exchange 2007 autodiscover SCP information is still present in AD. I suggest we firstly remove it via ADSIEDIT and see whether it works:

  • Facing Credential problem

    Hi,
    I facing the error when run interactive form application.
    I know this is hapenning because of credential problem.
    I can't request BASIS for this problem.
    Some where it is checking the credential while calling the applications.
    So i think we can avoid this error in debug by changing the variables.
    Do you have any idea to do this?

    Hi shivakri,
    The ReaderRights credential is needed when ADS is rendering an interactive PDF form. The credential is used to apply the usage rights. There is no way of by-passing this for interactive forms. If you want to use them you need to install the ReaderRights credential as described in the config guide.
    This has nothing to do with the licensing.

  • Log-Configuration.xml Problems

    Hi, I have been trying to use log-configuration.xml but it seems like i cannot get it to work at all.
    From what i understand, once i deploy my application, i should be able to edit the config via the Visual Administrator. However, after i deploy my app, i am still unable to see it with visual administrator. furthermore, i cannot find the file anywhere on the sever. Also, my settings are not reflected in the behaviour of the defaultTrace.
    Am i suppose to be able to find the "log-configuration.xml" file in the server if i have done the correct steps? If so, what are the likely mistakes i have made? I am at my wits end, anyone can help me?
    Just to add, this post seems to describe exactly my situation except i have no idea how to "manually" correct it... log-configuration.xml outside META-INF due to NWDS
    TIA!

    Hi Rajeshkr,
    Sorry, i am kinda new to web dynpro and sap in general so i may need you to be more explicit
    I am not quite sure what this part means or how to check "...has been deployed successfully in the deploy node of the visual Node and check for the Log Configuratior Node and check for your deployed application...."
    What i did do is go to the server to and search the entire directory structure for the log-configuration.xml but could not find it. Also, the config cannot be seen via the log-configurator in visual administration engine which its supposed too i think. and lastly the behavoiur i set in the log-configuration.xml is not reflected in the defaultTrace
    Then i saw this post so i went to check the EAR file in my workspace and found that it was just like Manik described.
    Maybe u could check this link where i posted more about my problem Log-Configuration.xml Problems
    I would love to award points if it helps

  • SQL Server 2008 R2 Report Server Credential Problem

    All
    When our report viewer connects to the remote report server, we got HTTP 401 unauthorized problem.
    When we copy the report url into IE, it asks for user name and password. If I typed in the report server's windows credential, I can access the report. I don't want to reveal my server's credential. So I tried to configure the report server to no credential
    I found some links talking about configuring SSRS for unattended account
    I configured one. It seems that this account must be a valid windows account of the report server.
    Then I logged in Report Manager remotely and configured the data source to the following options:
    Windows integrated security
    Credentials are not required
    It does not help.
    Does anyone have any suggestion?
    What is the right way authenticate client to remote access the report server?
    Thanks,
    FL

    My winforms ReportViwer still failed to connect to the Report server. The server is on a win 2008
    server R2.
    Both client and server computers are not on any domain, but connected to the same wifi network.  I disabled loopback check as MSFT kb suggested (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896861)
    Does anyone know how to solve this logon issue?

    The Logon Type field indicates the kind of logon that was requested. The most common types are 2 (interactive) and 3 (network).
    The Process Information fields indicate which account and process on the system requested the logon.
    The Network Information fields indicate where a remote logon request originated. Workstation name is not always available and may be left blank in some cases.
    The authentication information fields provide detailed information about this specific logon request.
                    - Transited services indicate which intermediate services have participated in this logon request.
                    - Package name indicates which sub-protocol was used among the NTLM protocols.

  • Log and capture problems for HDV using FCP 5.0.1

    I cant seem to get a picture in my log and capture browser when using HDV. The screen says my camera is connected, I see timecode correctly rolling in sync with my cameras timecode, I can use the controls, but no picture on the screen?
    When I hit capture now, the capture screen pops up and gives a message "waiting for data from device".
    we shot at 720p at 25fps, there is no capture preset for this in my version of FCP. Could this be the problem? Please help!!

    Thanks for responding.
    It's a mac osx 10.4.11 and a 2 ghz intel core duo. I'm using easy set up in final cut pro, but there is no option for hd fire wire basic (which apple support told me to look for). The only hd options are 1080i50, i60 and 720 p30. The other hd options are for the apple intermediate codec. When I use the easy set up for hd 1080i60, then go to log and capture, it doesn't give me the preview window to set in's out, batch capture etc. It only lets me capture straight from the camera and I have to manually stop it and start it which is a major pain. Plus the clips need to be rendered once I put them in a timeline. I've shot and edited on mini dv with final cut for nearly 7 years, but now that i've tried to upgrade and shoot hd mini dv, all of these problems have arrived in capturing. I'm starting to think my version of final cut pro (5.0.1) just doesn't work with hd, unless it's very time consuming. Any ideas?

  • Log file cleaning problem

    Hi,
    I'm evaluating Berkeley DB Java Edition for my application, and I have the following code:
    public class JETest {
         private Environment env;
         private Database myDb;
         public JETest() throws DatabaseException {
              EnvironmentConfig envConfig = new EnvironmentConfig();
              envConfig.setAllowCreate(true);
              envConfig.setTransactional(false);
              envConfig.setCachePercent(1);
              env = new Environment(new File("/tmp/test2"),envConfig);
              DatabaseConfig dbConfig = new DatabaseConfig();
              dbConfig.setDeferredWrite(true);
              dbConfig.setAllowCreate(true);
              dbConfig.setTransactional(false);
              myDb = env.openDatabase(null, "testing", dbConfig);
         public void cleanup() throws Exception {
              myDb.close();
              env.close();
         private void insertDelete() throws DatabaseException {
              int keyGen = Integer.MIN_VALUE;
              byte[] key = new byte[4];
              byte[] data = new byte[1024];
              ByteBuffer buff = ByteBuffer.wrap(key);
              for (int i=0;i<20000;i++) {
                   buff.rewind();
                   buff.putInt(keyGen++);
                   myDb.put(null, new DatabaseEntry(key), new DatabaseEntry(data));
              int count = 0;
              System.out.println("done inserting");
              keyGen = Integer.MIN_VALUE;
    OperationStatus status;
              for (int i=0;i<20000; i++) {
                   buff.rewind();
                   buff.putInt(keyGen++);
                   count++;
                   status = myDb.delete(null, new DatabaseEntry(key));
    if (status != OperationStatus.SUCCESS) {
                        System.out.println("Delete failed.");
              System.out.println("called delete "+count+" times");
              env.sync();
         public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
              JETest test = new JETest();
              test.insertDelete();
              test.cleanup();
    After running the above, I expected that the log file utilization be 0%, because I delete each and every record in the database. The status returned by the delete() method was OperationStatus.SUCCESS for all the invocations.
    I ran the DbSpace utility, and this is what I found:
    $ java -cp je-3.2.13/lib/je-3.2.13.jar com.sleepycat.je.util.DbSpace -h /tmp/test2 -d
    File Size (KB) % Used
    00000000 9765 99
    00000001 3236 99
    TOTALS 13001 99
    Obviously, the cleaner thread won't clean log files that are 99% used.
    I did expect the logs to be completely empty, though. What is going on here?
    Thanks,
    Lior

    Lior,
    With the default heap size (64m) I was able to reproduce the problem you're seeing. I think I understand what's happening.
    First see this note in the javadoc for setDeferredWrite:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/berkeley-db/je/java/com/sleepycat/je/DatabaseConfig.html#setDeferredWrite(boolean)
    Note that although deferred write databases can page to disk if the cache is not large enough to hold the databases, they are much more efficient if the database remains in memory. See the JE FAQ on the Oracle Technology Network site for information on how to estimate the cache size needed by a given database. In the current implementation, a deferred write database which is synced or pages to the disk may also add additional log cleaner overhead to the environment. See the je.deferredWrite.temp property in <JEHOME>/example.properties for tuning information on how to ameliorate this cost.
    The statement above about "additional log cleaner overhead" is not quite accurate. Specifically, we do not currently keep track of obsolete information about DW (Deferred Write) databases. We are considering improvements in this area.
    Your test has brought out this issue to an extreme degree because of the very small cache size, and the fact that you delete all records. Most usage of DW that we see involves a bulk data load (no deletes), or deletes performed in memory so the record never goes to disk at all. With the tiny cache in your test, the records do go to disk before they are deleted.
    You can avoid this situation in a couple of different ways:
    1) Use a larger cache. If you insert and delete before calling sync, the inserted records will never be written to disk.
    2) If this is a temporary database (no durability is required), then you can set the je.deferredWrite.temp configuration parameter mentioned above. Setting this to true enables accurate utilization tracking for a DW database, for the case where durability is not required.
    # If true, assume that deferred write database will never be
    # used after an environment is closed. This permits a more efficient
    # form of logging of deferred write objects that overflow to disk
    # through cache eviction or Database.sync() and reduces log cleaner
    # overhead.
    # je.deferredWrite.temp=false
    # (mutable at run time: false)
    Will either of these options work for your application?

  • Host Credential Problem in Oracle 10g on Windows

    Hi,
    I have another problem that is really bothering me. I
    have tried using Oracle database 10g on Windows XP and
    it works fine till you shut down and attempt to
    restart (or any administrative task)with the EM. It
    asks for the Database and Host credentials but always
    rejects the Host credentials. Now because i only have
    the Administrator as the OS user, i try to give this
    user and it's password and it still doesn't accept
    that.
    What could be the problem??? I infact have realized
    that this problem is NOT there if i use 10.1.0 on Red
    Hat Linux AS 3 because for the host credentials i use
    the OS user Oracle and the password (Owner of Oracle
    Installation)and it goes through fine.
    In Windows, what should i do to rectify this problem.
    Or is it a bug with Oracle on Windows. Or where should
    i get the relevant Host credentials Oracle requests on
    Windows or should i create a user??? Please
    HELP!!!!!!!!!!

    That could be the 'Log on as a batch job' problem. See here:

    I try restarting my 10g db. I have given the proper OS and DB credentials but the system still tells me that the host credentials are incorrect. I can't figure it out and it's driving me nuts.
    Any insight as to how I can track down a fix?

    hi,
    were you able to save your problem. I am also trying providing host credential in OEM by providing OS user name & password of user which I used to login to machine where oracle is running but it says wrong username/password.

  • Canon Log and Transfer problem

    Hello all,
    I'm trying to upload some HD files from my Canon HF20 on the latest edition of FCP to my iMac 10.58 and running into a problem.
    FCP recognizes the video captured on the internal memory. However, it does not recognize the video captured on the SD card in the camera.
    Any ideas?

    Well, I'm connected to my iMac using a USB. (iMac is running version 10.58 of Leopard). I'm using the latest version of FCP 7.0.2
    I can log and transfer files "taped" to the internal memory of my HF20. Files show up fine and import fine.
    However, the files that are on the SD card in the camera don't show up in the Log and transfer. ( I put the SD card on a card reader and still no luck.)
    I put the card back into the camera and hit the "Add volume" on the top left of the log and transfer and I can see my Canon drive and the other drive which is called "No Name" (I'm assuming simply because I haven't named it anything) I'm also assuming the No Name Drive is the SD card. However, I may be wrong. All the files are grayed out on this drive.
    Not sure what else I need to add to give you more info. Let me know if what other info needed and I'll post it.
    Thanks again!

  • HELP: AVCHD Log & Transfer idle problem for iMac 27"

    I just bought an Apple iMac 27" but I cannot do a Log & Transfer.
    I used the same SDHC card that I log & transfer succesfully in the old 24" iMac.
    But when I did a Log & Transfer in the new 27" iMac, I got into this:
    1) FCE4 can detect the card & show all the thumbnails without problem.
    2) When I drag a clip into the bottom or click add to queue, it says transferring clip#6 .... but the progress bar didn't move ...
    3) after a while, it says 1 clip idle ....
    what happen ? how come the clip#6 cannot be imported ? I tried all the clips, but faced with the same problem, it ended up says idle but nothing was transferred to the browser !!
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks

    ok guys,
    problem resolved by doing this:
    1) right click on the clip
    2) goto preference after right clicking on the clip
    3) Under AVCHD plugin > AC-3 > Plain Sound
    I dunno why it works but after changing from the default Matrix Sound to Plain Sound, it can import so fast ! This new iMac 27" is so much faster than my old 24" iMac ...
    If Matrix sound doesn't work why is it there in the first place ?
    Cheers

  • Log file utilization problem

    I've encountered a problem with log file utilization during a somwhat long transaction during which some data is inserted in a StoredMap.
    I've set the minUtilization property to 75%. During insertion, things seem to go smoothly, but at one point log files are created WAY more rapidly than what the amount of data would call for. The test involves inserting 750K entries for a total of 9Mb, the total size of log files is 359 Mb. Using DbSpace shows that the first few log files use approx 65% of their total space, but most only use 2%.
    I understand that during a transaction, the Cleaner may not clean the log files involved. What I don't understand is why are most of the log files only using 2%:

    I've created a test class that reproduces the problem. It might be possible to make it even more simple, but I haven't had time to work on it to much.
    Executing this test with 500K values does not reproduce the problem. Can someone please help me shed some light on this issue?
    I'm using 3.2.13 and the following properties file:
    je.env.isTransactional=true
    je.env.isLocking=true
    je.env.isReadOnly=false

    je.cleaner.lookAheadCacheSize=262144
    je.cleaner.readSize=1048576
    je.maxMemory=104857600

    Yup, that solves the issue. By doubling the
    je.maxMemory property, I've made the problem
    disapear.Good!
    How large is the lock on 64 bit architecture?Here's the complete picture for read and write locks. Read locks are taken on get() calls without LockMode.RMW, and write locks are taken on get() calls with RMW and all put() and delete() calls.
    Arch  Read Lock  Write Lock
    32b    96B       128B
    64b   176B       216B
    I'm setting the je.maxMemory property becauce I'm
    dealing with many small JE environments in a single
    VM. I don't want each opened environment to use 90%
    of the JVM RAM...OK, I understand.
    I've noticed that the je.maxMemory property is
    mutable at runtime. Would setting a large value
    before long transactions (and resetting it after) be
    a feasable solution to my problem? Do you see any
    potential issue by doing this?We made the cache size mutable for just this sort of use case. So this is probably worth trying. Of course, to avoid OutOfMemoryError you'll have to reduce the cache size of other environments if you don't have enough unused space in the heap.
    Is there a way for me to have JE lock multiple
    records at the same time? I mean have it create a
    lock for a insert batch instead of every item in the
    batch...Not currently. But speaking of possible future changes there are two things that may be of interest to you:
    1) For large transaction support we have discussed the idea of providing a new API that locks an entire Database. While a Database is locked by a single transaction, no individual record locks would be needed. However, all other transactions would be blocked from using the Database. More specifically, a Database read lock would block other transactions from writing and a Database write lock would block all access by other transactions. This is the equivalent of "table locking" in relational DBs. This is not currently high on our priority list, but we are gathering input on this issue. We are interested in whether or not a whole Database lock would work for you -- would it?
    2) We see more and more users like yourself that open multiple environments in a single JVM. Although the cache size is mutable, this puts the burden of efficient memory management onto the application. To solve this problem, we intend to add the option of a shared JE cache for all environments in a JVM process. The entire cache would be managed by an LRU algorithm, so if one environment needs more memory than another, the cache dynamically adjusts. This is high on our priority list, although per Oracle policy I can't say anything about when it will be available.
    Besides increasing the je.maxMemory, do you see any
    other solution to my problem?Use smaller transactions. ;-) Seriously, if you have not already ruled this out, you may want to consider whether you really need an atomic transaction. We also support non-transactional access and even a non-locking mode for off-line bulk loads.
    Thanks a bunch for your help!You're welcome!

  • Oracle 10g Schedule Backup Host Credential Problem

    I logged in to my database as sys AS SYSDBA but when i go to schedule backup i entered my OS WINDOW username and password but i failed to loggin can anyone please tell whats the reason behind this?

  • Dynamic BC4J JDBC credential problem

    I am using bc4j 9.0.3.1 and trying to dynamically change jdbc credentials and connect to different databases. I did everything as described in article "How to support Dynamic JDBC Credentials".
    I was able successfully connect from web application to database, but when I request ViewObject from app module - I got error "Error Message: JBO-25200: Application module is not connected to a database".
    What happened is following:
    My apps connect to database, it print following debug message:
    [458] Creating a new pool resource
    [459] Trying connection/2: url='jdbc:oracle:thin:@192.168.0.1:mxb' info='{user=carnegie, password=carnegie}' ...
    [460] Successfully logged in
    then in dubugger I see it calls ApplicationPoolImp class doFailover method and alwaus execute disconnect(appModule, true, cookie) method.
    I do not know why it disconnection itself from the database.
    // Store the passivation id on the application module cookie so that
    // we know the last passivation id.
    cookie.setPassivationId(passivationId);
    // After passivating the application module attempt to clean up any
    // records associated with previously passivated state. State may not be
    // removed if the VM instance has died (pass a previous state to this
    // method? Add logic to the application registry to handle this?).
    doPersistenceOperation(REMOVE_STATE, appModule, prevPassivationId, cookie);
    if (!wasConnected)
    // Always retain the state.
    disconnect(appModule, true, cookie);
    Final debug statements I got:
    [486] DefaultConnectionStrategy is disconnecting an application module connection
    [490] ViewObject close prepared statements...
    [491] ViewObject close prepared statements...
    [492] ViewObject close prepared statements...

    [494] ViewObject close prepared statements...
    [495] ViewObject close prepared statements...
    [496] *** closing jdbc connection now **** (oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleConnection@ed)
    My problem - why it disconnection itself from the database after successfull connection? I want to use this connection for duration of the session.

    hi DAguirre
    I have found the class "oracle.jbo.http.HttpSessionCookieFactory" in these JAR files:
    <your-jdevstudio10133-dir>\BC4J\jlib\bc4jhtml.jar
    <your-jdevstudio10133-dir>\BC4J\lib\adfmweb.jar
    You could try to add one of these JAR files to your classpath.
