WRT160N Router Firmware - Download page incorrect

I am trying to check if the firmware on my new WRT160N was the latest (I have 1.02.4-CA). I found to the Linksys Canada support page for the WRT160N (http://www-ca.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Content_C1&childpagename=CAen%2FLayout&cid=1153781111465&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper&lid=1146512181N01) On that page I selected Downloads, then specified WRT160N and clicked on the link for "Firmware" which took me to http://www-ca.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Download_C2&childpagename=CAen%2FLayout&cid=1153781261058&packedargs=sku%3D1175241703067&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper&lid=6105812181B01 There are 3 firmware versions on that page and the newest one (5/14/2008) actually downloads the 4.9.8101 version of the MAC install wizard! The next newest version (1/8/2008, 1.02.2) on that page downloads the file WRT160N_1.02.2_US_code.bin which I sure don't think is a good idea to use over my Canadian firmware! I guess the website folks need to fix that. It doesn't look like there is any update to the Canadian 1.02.4-CA firmware version on my router?

Well try upgrading the firmware of the router & keep on holding tightly the reset button in such a way that power light is blinking on the router & then do a complete network power cycle i.e., unplug the power cables from the modem & from the router & then plug in the power cable to the modem first once all the lights are solid green you could plug in the power cable to the router & check out it will definately work!! or else you could try downloading the firmware through ftp.linksys.com & you should be able to resolve the issue.

  • Zen Touch firmware downloads page confusin

Currently the Creative US Downloads page for the Windows XP section of the Zen Touch shows
    <IMG src="http://img455.imageshack.us/img455/6205/download5fj.png">
Which is fine... But expanding 2..0 shows:
    <EM>Requirements:</EM>
Windows XP with SP or SP2 </LI>
    Windows Media Player 0 </LI>
Available USB port (version . or higher) </LI>
Creative Zen Touch firmware update version 2.0.05, available from the Internet </LI>
    Creative Zen Touch player</LI>
The question I have is do you really need firmware 2.0.05 installed to update to 2..0? It doesn't have the ability to install itself over top a v firmware? I noticed the file size of 2.0.05 vs 2..0 is a large difference, about 500kb.
Also nowhere does it say PlaysForSure, but we all know that it is a PlaysForSure firmware.
So just wondering.... why it doesn't say PlaysForSure when it is, and why you can't go straight from v to 2..0. It would be nice to that way people can just install one firmware and be done in 5mins, as opposed to doing 2 updates and waiting 0mins. Hey 5mins is a big deal considering your player just got formatted and you need all the time that you can get to put back your thousands of songs In 5mins you might be able to transfer hundreds of songs! If not thousands!
Hopefully someone can clarify as one can easily download and run 2..0 thinking its just a normal non-PlaysForSure firmware when in fact it is. And your faced with a problem.....

It wouldn't be the first time Creative have got the readme wrong, or at least missing information.
I guess it either needs a Moderator to clarify, or someone who has gone straight to 2..0 (or at least tried).

  • NSS4000 Firmware download

    Hi,
Maybe I'm becoming mad but I can't find the firmware download page for NSS4000.
Anyone could be so kind to give me the link or any info?
    Thank you

    Hello,
You are not becoming mad, the NSS4000 was discontinued long ago so you won't be able to find the firmware on the cisco page any longer, I'm sorry.
Maybe somebody else o the forums will know of  website where it can be downloaded from but I would be very cautious as there will be no way to know if its the original firmware from Cisco or if it was modified.
    I hope this was helpful.

  • WRT160N v3 Incomplete Firmware Download Issue

Using a wired connection I ran the firmware upgrade process.  Downloaded firmware Ver.3.0.03 Build 3  07/12/2010 from cisco/linksys site.  Mid way through the download, the process halted and exited.  Only way to access the router was via the setup CD.  However, when I get in, the usual router home page is not displayed.  The home page is displayed but, very menu item is titled "Basic Setup."  No more menu items for Wireless, Advanced Setting, Status, etc, etc.  When I select any one of the 8 different "Basic Setup" menu selections, all that I get is a black page on the browser.  Hence, I can't get to the the page to attempt another firmware download.  Hate to think that I now own a plastic brick.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Mike

According to the scenario that you mentioned you can try to do the 30/30/30 Hard Reset. The following procedure will clear out the NVRAM and set Router back to default values:
With the unit powered on, press and hold the reset button on back of unit for 30 seconds
Without releasing the reset button, unplug the unit and hold reset for another 30 seconds
Plug the unit back in STILL holding the reset button a final 30 seconds....
    Then check the connectivity status…

  • Wrt160n v2 router firmware broken

    Hi,
I just upgraded my router firmware to the latest version as found here: http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/support/WRT160N/download Installing this version was really a bad idea though... My mac's could not connect anymore, after a lot of searching I finally downgraded like described here: http://audipages.com/router/. This worked but the connection is kind of unstable now.. I can not put the router in Wireless N only because then Mac's and Windows computer can not connect anymore.
Another thing is that the localized Dutch version of the site has a completely different firmware version of the same router: http://www.linksysbycisco.com/NL/nl/support/WRT160N/download....
So obvious question is: What is the preffered and recommended router firmware version for the WRT160N v2.
    Thanks in advance,
    Lars

The first thing is that it is not advisable to downgrade the firmware. It is recommended that to always use the firmware based on the model and the version no of the device..Area-wise the firmware does not differ a lot, however it is always preferred to use the firmware area-wise for the particular unit due to some limitation.
It is advisable to reset the router after upgrading the firmware. So reset the router for 35 seconds, power cycle the router and reconfigure the router from scratch.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus Firmware version not current on the HP Downloads Page

My HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus came with Firmware version CKP5CN1334ER which the printer update says is up-to-date. The HP downloads page shows CLP1CN1322CR as the current version. Can you tell me what the differences are in version 1334 from the one (1322) on the web page?
It would be nice to have the latest version posted for download to prevent confusion.

  • New Safari 2.0.3 displays some Router Firmware pages as HTML Source text

      Hello Safari users and gurus.
I installed the new 10.4.4 Combo Updater yesterday, preceded and followed by permissions repairs and other maintenance, including cleaning Safari Caches. Safari 2.0.3 works.
My problem: 10.4.4's new Safari 2.0.3 displays HTML source text after I click "Save" from within my Linksys (latest firmware) router's web based administration pages that worked correctly with the previous version of Safari.
When I check or change my router settings, the initial router settings pages appear as they did with the previous version of Safari. However, with 10.4.4's new Safari 2.0.3, as soon as I click "Save" to attempt to save a changed router setting, the confirming info from the router is displayed as HTML source code instead of the expected HTML page display.
If I wait for the router lights to indicate activity has ceased and then reload the router's opening admin address, the page opens again normally, and I can navigate to other pages and see that the changes have been saved. However, any click on any "Save" changes button in the router's pages delivers another page of HTML source text.
I will watch for future router firmware updates to see whether the issue is resolved from the Linksys side.
Does anyone have any suggestions for improvement now? All assistance will be appreciated.
    EZ Jim

Thanks glefand. As you suggested, I tried my old iBook G3 that is still running 10.3.9, and it works fine for me.
My G5 DP also worked normally up through OS X 10.4.3. My problem only began after I installed the 10.4.4 update. I think the Safari update included with the 10.4.4 update is what is causing the issue with the firmware pages on my Linksys router.
Hopefully a future router firmware update (or Safari update?) will restore proper operation. If not, I will continue to reload from the router's Start page. The need to work around this glitch is annoying, but the actual function of my router setup works without problem, even though the pages do not display properly.
Thanks again for your helpful suggestion,
    Jim

  • Firmware download for my wireless router

When I down load the new firmware for my WRT100 router the file extension is .bin.  When I open up the firmware upgrade instructions they talk about it being a zip file.  Want to know how I can get my new firm ware and in a format that the wireless router firmware upgrade will recognize.

I think what he downloaded was a zip file, with all those release notes text file and the actual bin file, etc. he may need to extract the actual file to obtain the actual firmware file (.bin file).
castownboy, do you know how to extract a zip file?

  • Can't access my router's setup page (wrt54g)

I can't access my router's setup page (wrt54g) after setting it up. The router is working fine, but everytime I try to log on at 192.168.1.1 it says the password is incorrect. The first time I set it up I changed the default user name and password and I thought I had just forgot it, so I reset the device. This time I didn't change any of the defaults and I still can't log on. I already had to reset it several times, and it's just annoying. Does anyone knows how to keep it from happening? I thought it could be a firmware problem, but I can't find any downloads for my route'rs version (V8). I'm using a macbook pro, osx 10.9.2.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I had the same problem.. After trying the userid and password from my previous WRT54G2 without success and admin admin multiple times, I used the "router name"  ==> Linksys as the user name and the security code that I used to set up the new router  as the password and it let me in..  I was on the phone with LINKSYS technical suport during this 1 hour process and they were as much surprised as I was that this worked..  After gettin on and changing the config, (thanks to Honey), I was able to access the internet from the new E2500 THAT i HAD JUST INSTALLED..  success

  • Make Eyebeam 1.5 work threw WRT160N with firmware 1.02.2

    Greetings:
I have an eyebeam 1.5 that I have tried and tried to get to work with my WRT160N with firmware 1.02.2 with zero sucess.  The Eyebeam will work perfectly when hardwired to the cable modem but will not work via the WRT160N wireless router.  Please help and tell me what to do do get this to work.  The eyebeam does not use an ip address to connect to the service but rather a domain name netcenter.republicsolutions.net. In the settings IP address is set to discover global address STUN is turned on and is set to discover server and ICE is enabled as well and xtunnels is set to never.  In the presence tab it is set to "peer to peer".  In the security tab  signaling transport is set to "automatic"
Also the Eyebeam works perfectly on the wirelss router at work so this is indeed a Linksys issue.
    Thanks

Well try to upgrade the firmware of the router which can be downloaded from the Linksys/Cisco website. Once the firmware is downloaded, you can proceed with the firmware upgrade even without Internet connection.
    • To prevent upgrade failures make sure that your computer is connected to the router using an Ethernet cable for stable connectivity. Upgrading the firmware wirelessly may cause permanent damage to the router since wireless connection may be unstable during the process.
    • Use a different Internet browser if Internet Explorer doesn’t work or use a different computer to perform the upgrade.
    • To prevent failure disable firewall to ensure that the upgrade will not be disrupted.
    • Make sure that you downloaded the correct firmware and version for your device to prevent technical problems that may damage the router.
Here is the link for Upgrading the Linksys router's firmware: http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=e9c2361ee7974d75913e61386a712188_4030.xml&pid=80&r...
After upgrading it is recommended to reset the router, then reconfigure it again and then check the status.

  • Get a blank page when I log in to my WRT54G router's setup page

When I try to log in to my router's setup page, I get a blank screen.  My router's address is 192.168.1.1, and when I type that in to my browser's address bar, I do get the log-in prompt.  I enter the correct password (leaving the user name field blank), and I get a blank screen.  The ensuing page does not show me the various setup parameters.
I have 2 PCs and have encountered the problem in both.  On one, I am running Windows 7 and the other is running Vista.  I recently upgraded my WinXP machine to Win7 and I did not have the problem on XP.
    Can you please help?
    Thanks
    J

To view the router's web pages:
You do not need an Internet connection. The router's "web pages" are built into the router.
Use Internet Explorer, it usually works.
    JavaScript must be enabled.
Use a computer that is wired to the router.
In the non-working computer, temporarily turn off your software firewall.
Point your browser to 192.168.1.1 , then login to your router. Your user name should be left blank. Your password is "admin" (with no quotes), unless you changed it.
If you are using Zone Alarm, right click on the ZA icon in the system tray (lower right corner of screen) and then click "Shutdown ZoneAlarm", and see if this fixes your problem. If this does not work, try the following with Zone Alarm: Open the ZAISS control center, go to Privacy, then temporarily turn off Ad Blocking and Cookie Control, and see if that fixes your problem.
Some Zone Alarm users have reported that adding 192.168.1.1 to their list of "trusted" addresses fixed the problem. This trick might also work with other firewalls.
If you are using Noton Internet Security with the Add-on Pack, be sure to turn off the Pop-up Blocker, and the Ad blocker. Some users have reported that they needed to uninstall the entire Norton Add-on Pack.
If you cannot get anything at 192.168.1.1 then perhaps this is not your router's address. Go to "Start" > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
A black DOS box will appear. Type in "ipconfig" (with no quotes), then hit the Enter key. Look at the "Default Gateway". Is it 192.168.1.1 ? Point your browser to the "Default Gateway", then login to your router.
If the above fails, disconnect your modem from the router, and try again. If this corrects your problem, then most likely you have a "modem-router" rather than an ordinary modem. Report back with this problem, and also state the make and exact model number of your modem (not the router).
If all of the above fails, power down your entire system, unplug it from the wall, wait one minute, then power up and try again.
If all of the above tips fail, then reset the router to factory defaults: Power down the router and disconnect all wires from it. Wait one minute. Power up the router, allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes), then press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release the button and allow the router to reset and reboot ( 2-3 minutes). Power down router. Wait one minute. Connect one computer, by wire, to a LAN port on the router. Boot up system. It should work.
If you still have trouble, then you need to download and install (or re-install) the latest firmware for your router. After the firmware upgrade, you must reset the router to factory defaults, then setup the router again from scratch. If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.

  • Can't upgrade router firmware

I want to upgrade the firmware in my BEFW11s4 v4.  Have already downloaded the file but when I click upgrade the page goes blank and nothing happens.  What am I doing wrong?

i think firmware has been upgraded on the router... logon to router's setup page and click on the status and check whether the latest firnmware is installed or not, if you you found old firmware on the router try upgrading firmware using tftp utility...go to ftp.linksys.com/pub/network and download tftp.exe file and try upgrading firmware check whether it makes any difference or not.

  • Flash Player download page broken?

Having successfully updated Java I have repeatedly attempted to update Flash Player. Whatever route I take to the download page, the "Download & Install" button is always missing.
Firefox 19.0.2, NoScript set to allow Adobe.com - sucessfully or the Java download page would have been kaput, ofc.
    Please fix your website.
    Regards
    T.

Maybe it is incorrect but that is the only URL that Adobe's website routes me to. Since your reply I have tried (safter clearing the cache and the cookies)
Adobe.com > Download > Adobe Flash Player [in the dropdown menu]
    and via
Adobe.com > Download [page]  > Get Flash Player [leftmost/uppermost of the 4 boxes on the LHS of the page].
Despite these and access via other routes through Adobe.com over, now, several hours, I have only seen this page and have never been redirected.
Please post what you belive id the correct URL, I will be pleased to try that.
PS I just checked the Shockwave player page (which I installed successfully after multiple attempts to download Flash Player - without any cache-clearing, etc.) & that displays the download button correctly.

  • Can't get to router configuration Web page

For some reason, I can't bring up the router configuration page (192.168.1.1).  It's always worked in the past.  But today for some reason, when I type in the URL, it hangs and hangs and hangs...  and then just gives me the "Can't access" error message!
The funny thing is -- the router is working just fine.  I can browse, do E-mail, download files, everything.  Wired or wireless.  I just can't get to the router configuration!
I've rebooted the router several times.  What would cause this inability to directly access the router's setup page?

The main causes for this are:
    1) browser incompatibility:  Try a different browser.  Internet Explorer usually works.
    2) JavaScript must be turned on.
    3) Some firewalls will block this.  To test this, temporarily turn off your firewall.  If this corrects the problem, then turn your firewall back on, then open a hole in the firewall, to your router.
    4) Corrupted router firmware.  Since the rest of your router is working, this is probably not the cause.  However, if no other cause is found, you may need to reflash your firmware.
    5)  If your router is the WTR54GS  (note: NOT the WRT54GS)  then your default address is 192.168.16.1
Also, go to "Command Prompt" and type in "ipconfig"  (no quotes), then hit the "Enter" key.   The "Default Gateway" is your router's address.
