Did you select the correct hardware version while downloading the Firmware file to upgrade your Router...
Download Firmware 3.09 MB...
Download TFTP Utility...
Connect your computer straight to the Router on Ethernet Port #1...Hard reset your router - Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...
Now see if your computer obtains an IP Address from the Router - Click Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> Command Prompt...A black box will appear(Command Prompt)...In the Command Prompt window type ipconfig and press 'Enter'...Look for Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection IP Address , Subnet Mask and Default Gateway...
IP Address should be 192.168.1.x, Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1 (assuming your router is 192.168.1.1)...
If you get the above mentioned IP Address, Subnet and Gateway Address then you should ping the Gateway, type ping 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...If it gives you request timed out then disable any firewalls, security softwares on the computer and ping the router again...If you still get Replies then you should be able to Upgrade your router's firmware...
If you do not get teh above mentioned IP Address then you need to assign your computer a static ip address,
Click on the Start button >>> Settings >>> Control Panel >>>Network Connections- Right click on the icon for Local area connection and go to properties- On the 'General' tab select 'Internet Protocol TCP/IP' and click on the Properties button- Select 'Use the following IP address'- Provide IP Address - 192.168.1.5 Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway - 192.168.1.1, click on ok button to Save and Click on "Close" on main Properties window...
Click Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> Command Prompt...A black box will appear(Command Prompt)...In the Command Prompt window type ping 192.168.1.1 and press Enter, if you get 4 Replies then you should be able to upgrade your router's firmware...
At any point if you want to upgrade the router's firmware here are the instructions :
Double click the tftp.exe file and click run :
For Server- Enter the IP Address of the router that you assigned.  By default, the router is 192.168.1.1...
For Password- Enter the password you assigned the router. By default, the router’s password is “admin”.
For File- Click the triple “…” button and browse for the .bin firmware file...
Click Upgrade button to start upgrading.  A progress bar should show up to show the progress.
Once the Upgrade is done press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

  • Where is memory.dmp if server crash during upgrade?

I am updating a server from 2008r2 to 2012, but server keeps crash during upgrade.
I am trying to dig into memory dump and core dump. It usually locate at \windows\memory.dmp if server crash.
Where does the file locate during upgrade?

    Hi,
Based on my experience, the memory dump file will be created by the operating system in its own folder in the MEMORY.DMP
file by default. Windows keeps a list of all the small memory dump files in the %SystemRoot%\Minidump folder if you have choose the “small memory dump” option in the Startup and Recovery page. Of course, you can change the folder location for the memory dump
    files.
If you can access to the page of
Startup and Recovery, you can view the location of the memory dump file.

  • Ipod Touch, 1st generation crashed during upgrade to v3.1.3 software

I have just paid to upgrade the software on my 1st generation Ipod touch. The software seems to have downloaded to my itunes, but some sort of error message occured during the download, and my ipod has crashed. The screen is locked on an image of an apple icon with a download progress bar half way filled. I can't turn the ipod on or off. When I plug it into the computer, it recognizes that a device is there, and it allows me to sync my ipod, but the screen remains unchanged. Does anyone have any idea on what I can do to fix this?
    Thanks!

I am continuing to have problems with getting my ipod touch restored. I am following the directions on the faq's but it seems that my touch continues to freeze up during the restoring nprocess. Itunes continues to sync, but the ipod screen remains unchanged.

  • System crash during upgrade

First off my system seems to now work fine . I'm curious to where I messed up tho so I'll try to briefly tell you about my update this morning.
It's been 2 month since I last updated I followed the news.
    pacman -Qqo /bin /sbin /usr/sbin | pacman -Qm -
Resulted in grub-common from what I could google that should not matter.

During the update X (I assume) crashed I still had sound but the system was frozen while flickering between a black and white screen. I had to cool boot.
On startup I got sent to busy box. I did a chroot into the system.
    chroot /mnt/arch /usr/bin/bash
Cannot chroot '/bin/bash': No such file or directory
    Not sure if it's related.

I rebuild the kernel then for some reason I decided to reinstalled grub too.
Now the system boots. As I started out I am wondering why this happened?
edit; was never able to find a useful clue and it has not repeated itself thanks for trying to help btw.

Are you wondering why X crashed or why X's crashing followed by reboot resulted in being dumped into the busybox shell?
I have no idea about the first.
Regarding the second, as I understand it, you rebooted before updating bash or filesystem, correct? So basically, anything looking for commands under /bin, /sbin or /usr/sbin would have drawn a blank because the upgrades you'd completed would have correctly moved everything to /usr/bin leaving those directories empty (except for bash etc.). The final upgrade of filesystem removes those empty directories and replaces them with symbolic links to /usr/bin which ensures that anything looking for stuff in /bin etc. will continue to find it. If you look in /etc/shells, for example, you will see that most shells are still specified as /bin/<shell> just for instance.
I'm not sure why X crashing prevented you from completing the upgrade. Did you try switching to another tty and just continuing at the command line? (Or restartintg X?)

  • IPhoto Crashes during Upgrade at Thumbnails

I have searched this discussion group and found many suggestions to overcome my problem with iPhoto 5.0.4, but none are working.
I installed iLife '05 yesterday. My entire purpose in purchasing this software was to organize my extensive photo library. When going through the upgrade process, iPhoto crashes while updating Thumbnails.
    I have tried this suggestion:
Setting Permissions for iPhoto Library Folder
1 - Select the iPhoto Library folder and type Command-I.
2 - When the Info window comes up go to the Ownership and Permissions section and make sure You have Read & Write permission and that the Owner and Group have Read & Write also. Others - Read Only.
3 - Then click on the "Apply to enclosed items..." button.
See it it will work now. If not, launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the two options regarding thumbnails. This may be the same as what iPhoto was doing on its own but give it a try. if that fails then move the three thumbnail files, Thumb32.data, Thumb64.data and ThumbJPG.data to the Trash and launch iPhoto. They may be damaged and rebuilding this way may get you thru the process.
I have tried the suggestions on these pages:
    http://homepage.mac.com/loridilo/Personal21.html
    http://homepage.mac.com/loridilo/Personal22.html
NOTHING works. I know my photos are not lost and that they are on my hard drive. However, if I have to recreate the hundreds of folders I'm gonna go postal.
    -Kirk

    Kirk:
Do you have a backup copy of your V4 iPhoto Library folder? After installing iLife 05 did you repair disk permissions with Disk Utility?
Here's an easy off the wall fix that worked for another user, it just might work for you.
1 - move your iPhoto Library folder to the desktop.
2 - launch iPhoto and when asked create a new library.
3 - quit iPhoto and move the new library folder to the trash and move the original one back to the Pictures folder.
    4 - launch iPhoto.
Don't ask me why but it worked for another user.
If that doesn't work you can try to rebuild the library (make a temporary backup copy of the library folder first - select it and type Command-D. Then launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the first three options.
If that doesn't work there's this option:
1 - move the backup library folder to the desktop and trash the original that didn't rebuild properly.
2 - launch iPhoto and create a new library.
3 - using the File->Add to Library select the duplicate library folder and click the Import button.
This will import the full sized image files that are inside that iPhoto Library folder. Most of the rolls will be intact but with different titles and dates (the current import date). There will be additional rolls for the various original files of those you've edited earlier. You will lose albums, keywords and comments. But that should get you an up and running library.
Hope this has been of some help. Good luck.

  • My iphone is crashed during upgrading

I bouht a new Iphone and would upgrade it.
first there was a problem, and me was told it must bring back to factory settings. after bringing it back, every time it gives an error nr 9 what is a connecting problem. we have done every advise, including changing computer en cabels. We use only apple computers. wahet to do.

This is what I found about error 9:
Error 9: This error occurs when the device unexpectedly drops off the USB bus and communication stops. This can occur if the device is manually disconnected during the restore process. This issue can be resolved by performing USB isolation troubleshooting, using a different USB dock-connector cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.
Did you check the docking port for any kind of debris or lint?
Since you're using Macs you should not have security software installed, which can block your USB ports. Any other kind of software running that is controlling or using the USB connections?
Are you using USB keyboards or any other USB devices while the phone is connected? If possible disconnect those devices.
Did you try to create a new user on the Mac and set up iTunes and try to restore the phone?
What about connecting in recovery mode? iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to restore
Troubleshooting USB connections http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1286 has also some interesting suggestions, for example resetting the USB connection

  • Upgraded to Lion (fine) and iTunes 10.4 crashes during upgrade (while cleaning up)... ??

Any suggestion to a work-around or just stick with iTunes 10.3.1 until this is resolved ???

In my case, I found a solution!!
    1. In Application Folder, Find iTunes -> press "command + i" -> Select "Open In 32 bits Mode"
    2. Then I can open iTunes!!!
Second, I found that because I opened iTunes in fullscreen mode, that caused crash after.
After I turned iTunes in normal size, it can be opened in 64 bits mode.
    Hope this will hope!

  • Iphone 32G 3GS crashed during upgrade now wont turn on or restore in itunes

i was performing the latest upgrade last night (4.0 i think) and half way thru i accidentally knocked the USB cable from the laptop and the upgrade did not complete and now the phone will not turn on except to tell me to connect to itunes and when i do its wont retore the phone to the original settings either. i cannot use my phone at all - HELP!!!

I had this same problem before. You have to put your phone in DFU mode to be able to successfully restore your iPhone. I'd recommend not restoring from a backed up profile and just starting a new one when you do get it restored. For instructions on getting your phone in DFU mode, check out the following link: http://limitededitioniphone.com/how-to-put-the-iphone-into-dfu-mode/
I'd recommend one of the "Alternative Methods". The first method is tricky because the timing has to be perfect.
Just a word of advice though, I'd strongly recommend staying on iPhone OS 3.1.3 until Apple releases iOS 4.1. There is an increase of people having performance issues on the 3GS with iOS 4.0. I was one of them, but just downgraded back to 3.1.3 and am not having any of those issues any longer.
    Hope this helps!

  • My 3GS crashes during phone calls over about 3 minutes, even after the upgrade to 5.0

My 3GS crashes during phone calls over about 3 minutes, even after the upgrade to 5.o

I've also got this annoying problem, but it seems to vary how long the phone wants to last before crashing - i think the longest conversation i've had with iOS4 is 15 minutes and it was an important phone call (my son was in hospital at the time and i was away on business)
i was hoping that iOS4.2 would fix the problem, but alas nothing but more crashing..
being a user of Apple products since 1984, having this trouble is pretty disappointing as i used to believe that Apple made a quality product..

  • AIP-SSM crash during S389 Signature upgrade

Our AIP-SSM [version 6.1(2)E3] crashed during a S389 Signature upgrade on Friday. Neither a "session 1" command from its host, an ASA5520, or a "reload" command of the ASA5520 succeeded in bringing back up the AIP-SSM. Fortunately, after the ASA's power was recycled, the AIP-SSM successfully booted, albeit not to S389, but to its previously loaded S383. I established an SR and supplied the "show tech" and "show config," but the Cisco tech replied "nothing stands out" in them and said just run the S389 update again and send the same info if it crashes. I have several problems with that approach: 1) he had replied that several other customers had had the same problem; 2) our current AIP-SSM is a replacement for an RMA'ed one which had choked on the E2 engine upgrade a few months ago; 3) if another S389 upgrade attempt fails, our client's network will be down because our security policy requires the ASA's bypass mode for the AIP-SSM to be "fail-close." My questions to the forum include:
    1) If the "show tech" command is run after an AIP-SSM has rebooted after a previously-attempted S389 upgrade, can it include any information specific to the previously-attempted S389 upgrade? 2) Could the hardware components of the AIP-SSM-10 be inadequate for the combination of the E3 engine plus the cumulative signatures? 3) If the answer to question 2 is "yes" or "possibly," could Cisco modularize the signatures, eg. provide an "only-activated-signatures" (ie smaller) file for customers like us and an "everything" for others? Advice and recommendations heartily requested.

Based on your show version, you already have E4, what is it that you are trying to do?

  • N96 crash during firmware upgrade & unrecoverable

Finally Nokia sent me a text to say that a firmware upgrade - from 10 to 11 was available. I've tried to install it after first backing up the phone. During upgrade where the upgrade software continually referred to connection problems (while the Nokia PC Suit showed the connection to be in place) with about 5 minutes of remaining installation time the installer gave up. It asked me to turn off the phone and reconnect which I did. The installer could not recover the installation. I now have a phone that will turn on but just has a blank screen and PC Suit won't recognise it so I can't restore from the backup.
Any ideas? Does my second N96 have to be sent back to Nokia?
This is all becoming rather silly...

B4 you update I found this improves the way it works
before you connect phone by USB
Plug in charger and leave in (make sure its turned on at the wall socket)
1st switch to line 1 if you have 2 lines
    set profile on genral
    turn off password on boot
    turn OFF pincode request
    turn OFF fixed dial
IF you have Lights ON installed uninstall it (you can put it back after)
if You have any other prog that RUNS all the time Like Lights ON unistall that too. (eg rotate me on N95)
    TURN OFF PHONE
    remove SD card
TURN ON PHONE to get a clean boot with nothing running in background
now make sure you connect in PC suite mode when you plug in USB
run P C suite click on Spanner TOOLS
    go down to software update
NOW WAIT if it says there is a new version or it loads new drivers
there are 5 or 6 cable drivers that it MUST load before it starts it only does that once the 1st time
    Now all will go well
most of the crashes are caused by either a prog running on the phone or the pin or password being set and the phone cant reboot or a flat battery

  • ITunes Match crashes during 3rd step when uploading songs to the iCloud

    Hello There,
I have just one issue with iTunes Match which causes me to be slightly skeptical, although it is such an amazing way to listen to music ect.
I have about 15000 songs and most of them were added on the iCloud, however only around 200 still needed to be added manually on the iCloud. The issue appears right after the second step where the songs starts uploading. All of a sudden iTunes just crashes and asks me to close the program.
Just to add I am using a dell desktop PC with windows 7, and everything is up to date including latest updates of the iTunes.
What can I do to sort this issue out, so the rest of my music can be added to the iCloud without having iTunes to crash during uploads?

    hi,
    See this link.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4914
I have read elsewhere that some people have used match with XP successfully but they were having more and more problems with each upgrade of iTunes.
Have you tried removing the tracks that are still waiting to be matched or uploaded. There may a track that is causing the problem. Once you have removed outstanding track update imatch. If this works, gradually add the tracks back a few at a time.

  • CS5 apps crash during launch in XP

    Hi,
I just bought and installed CS5 Design Premium and can't get it to work, including Photoshop.  Most of the apps crash.  They crash during launch (splash screen) and therefore never get going.  Each app seems to display different error messages.  One common denominator seems to be something relating to scripting (not sure what that implies - plug-ins?).  The only CS5 apps that don't crash are Bridge and Media Encoder.
Upgrading to 12.01 didn't help.  I tried rebooting, uninstalling and re-installing.  I ran a system scan with Windows Defender and no malicious software was detected.  I run a very clean system so no unusual programs running in the background and what little I do run in the background, I exited from.  I hadn't run a previous version of Photoshop (or any other program in CS5) so there were no Photoshop plug-ins to uninstall.
I do have Lightroom 3 installed (huge image database), which I have not yet uninstalled (far from trivial IMHO).  Lightroom does have three plug-ins (all disabled) which are the Canon and Nikon Tether Plug-ins and a Flickr plug-in.  I don't know how to uninstall these or whether it would affect CS5.
As an example, when I launch Photoshop, I get the following error:
    AppName: photoshop.exe     AppVer: 12.0.1.0     ModName: scriptingsupport.8li ModVer: 10.0.0.0     Offset: 000d183a
InDesign fails as it says "updating Panels" and I get:
AppName: indesign.exe     AppVer: 7.0.0.355     ModName: support for javascript.rpln
    ModVer: 7.0.0.355     Offset: 00036183
    System Specs:
    3.4GHz P4, 4GB PC6400, 1.5TB SATA, Nvidia GeForce 6600 PCIe, Asus P5WD2-e Motherboard, XP Pro SP2
    I run Flash 10.1.53.64 and Quicktime 7.6.6, Java 6.0.2
When I launch Illustrator, it used to crash hard but now it stops while loading (Initializing Plug-ins, PDFFormat.aip) and displays a custom error dialog saying "Error loading plugins.  AISaveForWeb.aip DxfDwg.aip PGNFileFormat.aip.  Eventually it launches, apparently functional (haven't tested it).
    Any help appreciated, thanks!

Corporate users are often very conservative, as many needs must be met before a new system can be rolled-out.  The reasons for being so conservative are rooted in good business, and in many cases are quite justifiable.
I have a friend who works IT at a railroad company, and he regularly has to support Windows 2000 machines amongst the majority of their systems, which are XP.  He tells me what he and a whole team of people struggle with every day.  I've been there.  I administered systems for entire Engineering departments myself.  One of the things I ALWAYS made time for, however, was breaking in new systems and getting to know them.  As a result, our people always had near state-of-the-art systems to work with.  It was even a selling point when our managers interviewed someone sharp who they were trying to get to accept an offer:  Our work environment was second to none.
In recent times we are starting to see why staying with an ancient operating system instead of "biting the bullet" and moving up to modern technology is proving to be more and more expensive.
Brushing aside Vista - for a while - might have been justifiable, but...
Hours and hours to make something work on XP?  New roll-outs of XP systems?  In 2010?  Are you kidding?
All that time being wasted to get old things working could and should be spent on embracing the new, and figuring out how to make it sing on key.  People have now gone before you and can authoritatively state that Windows 7 can be made to work.  A darned sight better than its predecessors in many ways!
    Time is money.

  • IPhoto crashes during Flickr set up

I installed the iLife 09 family suite on my computer then on my husband's (iMac 2.4 GHz intel core duo). iPhoto works flawlessly on my husband's. On mine however, it started out with the same problem others have posted: iPhoto crashing (or closing unexpectedly) upon starting. I followed the advice in a post to turn off AirPort and then start iPhoto turning AirPort on again once iPhoto was running. This seemed to solve that problem.
My problem now is that iPhoto crashes (or closes unexpectedly) when I try to "set up" Flickr to work through iPhoto. I click the Flickr button and it brings up Safari to have me log into our Flickr account then I am supposed to select the "ok, I'll allow it" button - but somewhere in there iPhoto always crashes in the background. The log below is from one of these occasions (I have only pasted what looked important to me).

I've tried to publish to MobileMe as well, and iPhoto always crashes during that scenario as well.
I used my husband's computer to test the Flickr feature using the same library my computer was working with - his published perfectly.
Here are the troubleshooting techniques I have used (all have yielded the same crashing of iPhoto during MobileMe/Flickr setup):
tried both with and without the iPhoto Update 8.0.2
tried restoring iPhoto 08 from Time Machine (can publish to MobileMe even as recent as the day I installed 09); then reinstalled iPhoto 09
tried reinstalling iPhoto 09 while iPhoto 09 was still on the computer
tried deleting the the com.apple.iPhoto.plist (but not the com.apple.iphotomosaic.plist)
tried rebuilding photo library with all 5 options selected
tried resetting Safari with all 9 options selected
have opened and saved a file in Garage Band (I know I'm reaching now)
tried starting with other libraries, including creating a new one
Interesting: my new iWeb published content and pictures to MobileMe no problem!
Background: my MacBook was not "born" with Leopard or iPhoto 08 - I put those on a year(?) ago (about the same time I upgraded my memory). And, my iPhoto 08 had been crashing or hanging when ever I tried to export (one of the reasons I wanted 09 so badly - to fix that problem). I thought that might have been due to my dotphoto file exported plugin - but I've deleted it and I've tried restoring past the time I installed it. iPhoto library has 6,700 pictures and 70 movies taking up 13.1 GB.
Any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong? It feels like iPhoto 09 doesn't "talk" to the internet correctly.

    Patrick-
Thank you for the suggestion. I still encounter the same problem after running repair disk permissions. Here's what I get: Permissions differ on "System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/iPhotoAccess.framework/Versions/A/Resources/P lugins/..."
the specific plugins vary (there are about 16) then it states ".../Contents/CodeResources", should be -rw-r--r--, they are lrw-r--r--.
It also states this for nine /CoreServices/Front Row.app/
There are also warnings; one is: SUID file "System/Library/Filesystems/AppleShare/afpLoad" has been modified and will not be repaired.
It ends by saying Permissions repair complete. I have no idea what to do with this information!
