i have set-up my router and is working and can access the settings page from home pc
however when i try to login using the linksys smart wifi on my iphone or pc i get the message router is offline - retry
i am sure this must be do to some settings that are preventing access.
any ideas appreciated

Make sure that the phone is wirelessly connected to the network and associate your Linksys Smart Wifi account to the router. Use the same account to your mobile app. After that, try to use the Smart Wifi app to access the router's page while connected locally to the network. Hope this helps!

Hi all,
I am normally not someone who posts on support forums since most of the problems can be solved be searching through piles of other questions, but this things has really got me pulling out my hair and I hope that maybe someone can help me with this super weird problem.
So, a few weeks back, my Mac Mini (kind of old, guessing 2007) stopped connecting to Wireless networks. Since all other devices in home (iPhone, MacBook Pro and a PC) are connecting just fine I thought it had to do with my settings. All it says is: "connection timeout".
The Mac Mini connects just fine when I plug in an ethernet cable, but that's a no go since I don't want cables laying around our living room that much.
I tried a lot of things suggested my other people like removing settings, PRAM reset, moving the AP closer, router settings etc etc. Of no avail. Even tried to fix it by reinstalling Snow Leopard, but that didn't do it either.
Though when I turned my MBP into an Access Point it could connect to that network just fine. That made me wonder if it's my router, but once I plug in an ethernet cable into my MBP to share Internet access it won't connect! Tried the same with my router and indeed, it connects just fine once it has no Internet connection.
Tried searching for people that had the same problem, but I couldn't find them. Can anybody here help?
TLDR; Mac won't connect to Wireless network that has an internet connection, but does when it hasn't.

Try disconnecting the router from the internet (WAN port) and plugging a PC directly into one of the LAN ports. After resetting, ignore the smartwifi login, click the two checkboxes, and login manually/directly with the "admin" password and reconfigure.
If you don't want to do all that just yet, try accessing the router from the public IP address assigned by your ISP. That might work

I have been trying to get on Linksys smartwifi today and can't seem to get it to work. I keep getting "This page can’t be displayed"
I have tried different search engines with the same result. If this subject has already been covered can someone please refer me to the thread.

No, I am syill unable to access Linksys smartwifi. I get either "The web address you entered could not be found" or "This page can’t be displayed" depending on which search engine I use.
Is there something I can try?

Linksys SmartWifi - How to remove a device from the account

I had a EA6500 and a E4200 in the same house, both running the Linksys SmartWifi firmware. Both devices show up when I login to the SmartWifi admin page. I no longer own the EA6500 but the device still shows up in my device list when I login to the E4200. I'd like to understand what i need to do to remove the EA6500 from the SmartWifi device registration while still keeping access to my E4200.

There is probably a way, but why bother? It does not hurt anything.

SmartWifi GUI issues/unresponsive (WRT1900AC)

Hi all,
Had this issue a few times with different firmware versions in the past and is now happening again. The issue typically requires that I restore the router to factory which is a huge pain in the **bleep** with all the DHCP reservations, ports, etc I run.
For whatever reason, I log into the SmartWifi GUI locally (192.168.1.1). The main page appears normal, but when I try to access (in this case) the portforwarding page it asks if I want to save my changes even though I didn't make any. If I click cancel it takes me back to where I was. If I click yes, it thinks for a while and take me back to where I was (not to the ports tab), if I click no the same thing happens. So basically I can't access tabs but the first one under "Security".
When I try to access the "Connectivity" tab, it's just a blank page. Same goes for the "Troubleshooting" menu.
So I can neither check the firmware version, restore it, or update it. Further, I can't backup my configuration or reboot the router.
As I said this has happened multiple times over different firmware versions so I know it's not just the current version I'm running.
Yesterday I powered down everything overnight and it's still giving me the same issues. Is this happening to anyone else?
I'm getting really tired of restoring this thing every month or so. Feel like at $250 this router should just purr.

PC 3rd Party Security Software Configurations
Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on the PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired LAN PC while testing.
Disable any downloading client software managers, i.e. Torrents or similar.
PC Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches.
Be sure to log into the Admin account on the router.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection
Disable the extender while you test with the main host router first...then turn back on and test.

EA4500 smartwifi : Router external ip address

Hi I have a EA4500 with smart wi-fi interface.
I need the ip address provided to my router by my internet provider so i can remote desktop into my home computer using port forwarding.
I could not locate the IP address of my router.
Under the connectivity , the internal ip is listed but not the external ip.
Can anyone point me to the rite direction.

Linksys designed the SmartWifi series remote access around the SmartWifi Cloud service. You still need to enable remote access in the Security section (I think that's the right section). Then use the mobile app or login to the Linksys Smart Wifi website on a computer at another location.

File Sync across WRT1900 and EA6900 Routers

I am trying to setup some type of sync across the internet for two locations. The primary location has a WRT1900 router and a Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials server with all the files. I am trying to setup a NAS or similar at the 2nd location connected by a EA6900 router. Files are media such as HD movies and iTunes content. Want to be able to access the content locally at hte 2nd site and watch HD movies and alike. Content is too big (expensive) to keep fully in cloud plus want speed of content locally. I would really like to minimize all the parts and hoping there is an easy way to setup a site to site VPN or similar across the two products and sync to a NAS or use DFS or similar. Simple and easy is key. Thank you!

Thanks Chadster - problem is I then loose the wireless networking, which I use extensively throughout the house. I guess I could add a WAP, but then left with $500 of routers plus the cost of the new routers and APs. I like the WRT's performance. Any ideas to keep the existing routers in place?

Problem changing local access PW

I can no longer access directly to the Web based set up page..the one with the Administration Tab.
I can access the router from the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi, but there is no Admin tab there.
I want to change the local user pw so I can access the router in the situation where my internet is down.
Any suggestions?
If I am on the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi page, and click on the link for local access, and enter my PW there,
I get the same Smart Wi-Fi page that I get when I log in with my ID/PW, again, no admin tab.
If I have to reset the router, does that mean that I will have to go to each device and reset the pw?

My main PC is via CAT5 to the router. all the other devices are via wireless connection.

Hi randycz, are you referring to the password to the setup page of the router? You can actually change it under Connectivity tab of the router's SmartWifi page. Just access your setup page, and below the "Network Name and Password" portion, there is "Router Password ". Hope that helps.

Go to V/N1 transaction select your self defined access sequence then go in to the accesses and fields and check all fields are activated.
Make sure that these fields are flowing in your sales order.

Partner application access to portal login info

How can an SSO partner application (Java) tell whether or not a user has logged in to Portal?
I need to log activity in a public application servlet, so I'd like to log the user as PUBLIC if not logged in or as their actual userid.
I don't seem to have access to this info until the user has visited a secure part of the app.
Any pointers would be appreciated.

DIY answer ...
The cludge I used to get round this was ...
Make a PL/SQL item which displays a Login or Logout link as appropriate, based on the current userid from portal.wwctx_api.get_user.
The login link goes to a secure portal page called FORCE_LOGIN, passing a URL parameter called nextPageURL which contains the URL of the next page to show after the login is complete. You can use portal.wwpro_api_parameters.get_value( '_pageid', 'a'); to help build the current page URL if you want to retun to the current page.
The FOIRCE_LOGIN page contains a PL/SQL item which builds an IFRAME whos src is a URL to my app servlet ForceLoginServlet, passing on the nextPageURL parameter. Use portal.wwpro_api_parameters.get_value( 'nextPageURL', 'a'); to help with that.
The ForceLoginServlet is a secure servlet (set up in web.xml) so that forces a silent authentication to my app. All the servlet does is display HTML to redirect back to the URL in nextPageURL.
Horrible! But it does the job.
Anyone who know a better way of doing this, please tell me.

How to allow access to web service running under ApplicationPoolIdentity

I have a WCF web service hosted in IIS 7 (or maybe 7.5, whichever comes with Windows server 2008 R2) using DefaultAppPool running under ApplicationPoolIdentity per Microsoft's recommendation. The web service needs to call a stored procedure to insert data
to a db. The web server is on a different VM than the database server. The db server is running SQL 2008 R2. Both VMs run Windows server 2008 R2.
When the web service tries to connect to db, it encounters this exception:
Exception in InsertToDb()System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException (0x80131904): Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON'.
at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection)
Here's the connection string in web.config:
Application Name=somewebservice;Server=somewebserver;Integrated Security=SSPI;Database=somedatabase;Connection Timeout=60"
How should I configure SQL security to make this work?

If I understand you(and Erland) correctly, you suggest using a custom, domain account for application pool identity. However, if we do that, our IT will need to maintain those accounts, and they don't want that. So I'm choosing a built-in account called
ApplicationPoolIdentity as the application pool identity, but it's not working. Network Service, on the other hand, works, but my boss wants us to follow MS's best practice.
What's puzzling is that according to this: http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/624/application-pool-identities/, both Network Service and ApplicationPoolIdentity uses machine account to access network resource (like db in this case), but in my case, Network Service
works, but not ApplicationPoolIdentity.

with respect - it seems to me that only idiots are working at your IT ;)... It is absolutely useful to work with "service accounts" created within the domain. That's the only way to manage and control accounts!
If you want to "pass through" the identity of the web user (SSO) you have to check whether the app pool is set to "allow impersonate". As far as I understand the ApplicationPoolIdentity-function the app pool will create a unique user named as the service.
I assume that will not work with the connection to the sql server because this user is unknown.
Local Service will not work because it's restriction is located to the local machine.
Network Service will work because access to network resources will be available.
So my recommendation is to use a dedicated service account or impersonation:

How to let SAP user use SSO to access Application in DMZ?

Hi All,
Our J2EE application is running on a system in DMZ which can not be connected with LDAP. So I am wondering if it's possible to let SAP user use SSO to access our application.
After talking with my colleague I think the only way is to import SSO public key to our WebAS and create user in UME and then assign user to the corresponding public key, but anybody know where to download SSP verification file or is it allowed to download and import into another system at all?

Take a look at this example, it uses property nodes to select tha
active plot and then changes the color of that plot.
If you want to make the number of plots dynamic you could use a for
loop and an array of color boxes.

How do I access the web utility with model cisco sf302-08p ?

MS ACCESS, NULL, and '%'

I am using a prepared statement to query my access database which contains personal data first name, last name, address, city, state, etc.... I allow the user to search the database by any of these fields (or any combination of them) by making the default values for any empty fields '%'. Here's my select statement.

This worked but didn't return a record if ANY of their values are NULL. So I changed my select statement to allow for NULL values.

This fixed that problem, but now it ALWAYS returns the records with NULL fields. I want it to only match NULL fields if the coressponding JTextField is left blank. Can anyone tell me a good way to do this?

speed of a prepared statement??Unless you are doing block inserts in a loop you are probably not going to see any speed improvement anyways.
But as I said you can simply create all the combinations and then use an array to keep track of them.

Sharepoint foundation 2010 externel https access problems

I have a very strange problem with my sharepoint foundation 2010 site.
I have a site which is accessible from outside on https (we have a valid certificate). I configured IIS for http and https.
Also I configured internal and externel access for this site on sharepoint.
But sometimes, the site is not accessible from outside on https with (externe.site.fr), BUT it will be accessible with public ip !!!
And also accessible from inside. (with interne.intranet.site.fr)
Any Idea ?

According to your post, my understanding is that your site is not accessible from outside using external host name with https sometimes.
As your site can be accessible with public IP, however it can’t be accessible from outside using external host name with https sometimes, the issue could be caused by the gateway server in your environment.
I suggest that you need to check the gateway server configuration.
