WRT1900AC integration with Linksys Hosted Router Management?

I recently purchased a new WRT1900AC.  When I first started it up, I was prompted to set things up with a preconfigured Router Name and network Names, did so, and then quickly realized that I had made a mistake since everything on the wired portion of my network was already configured and working with the router that had just died and was being sent to router hell for its' sins.  I got everything working the way I wanted it, including working wireless access via the Android support app that lets me administer the router from my Samsung Galaxy IV smart phone.   The one limitation I face now is that the Linksys hosted web site that took my setup information initially, no longer knows about my router, so I can't log in to it from the network at my local community college where I'm working out at the fitness center and connected to the internet via their wireless network, or when I'm using Verizon's 4g network in my car.  I have some security concerns about giving the Linksys hosting site access to my router that were raised initially when I tried logging into their site via my 64bit Internet Explorer 11 with Norton Internet Security running which told me that the site certificate was being hosted somewhere other than where I was trying to log in, or was an invalid certificate and blocked me.
I relly don't know how to most quickly and securely resolve this problem since I do not want to mess with my current router configuration, I just need to get the smart phone app which works fine within my local wireless network to be able to contact the router over the internet without having to set up my own VPN service or something like that so that I can come in to the network first, and then access the router.  I believe that everything is set up except that the MAC address information registered on the administration site is associated with the default network names, and my attempt to set up the software there after I had congigured the network the way I wanted it got blocked by my own network security during the attempt.  At any rate, I'm stuck, and do not know quite how to best go about correcting my difficulties without starting over from scratch by resetting the router, which is a real **bleep**.
I'm also not completely sure that the out of the box software and procedure for using it has not been compromised or open to some kind of compromise that would open up my network to unauthorized snooping or worse via the standard site.  if you understand the issues, please advise.  should I just be content with using my cell phone within range of my own router to administer things?  If I'm not, since the administration site knows me but does not seem to know my router unless I'm in my own network, how do I go about reconnecting to the linksys smart wifi administration site to my router?

All you need to do is to create a Linksys Smart Wi-Fi account and associate the router so you may access it wherever you are.

  • How do I make airport time capsule work with Linksys cisco router?

    Hi all.
I bought an airport time capsule 3T and want to connect it to the internet, using a macbook with OS X 10.9.2. Currently I am using a Linksys Cisco router model WAG54G2.
I followed the steps of the setup airport guide: Connected the WAN port of the airport with an ethernet port on the router, plugged in the power cable, filled in the internet username and password. In Airport Utility I can see the airport and the internet icon, both with green dots most of the time. But it seems to disconnect every minute or so, green dots turning orange and the status light on the airport flashing orange. The internet light on the linksys also goes on and off. When the internet is on, it is quite slow.
    Advice is welcome!
    Kees

No guarantees here. AirPort Utility 6.3.1 is a big drop down from the 5.x versions in Leopard and Snow Leopard.
Hold in the reset button on the back of the Time Capsule for 9-10 seconds and release
Allow a full minute for the TC to restart to a slow, blinking amber light
Click the AirPort icon at the top of the screen and wait a few seconds for a listing of New AirPort Base Station to appear. Just below that, click on Time Capsule.
The example below shows an AirPort Express. You will see Time Capsule.
As soon as you click on the Time Capsule, AirPort Setup will open up automatically and take a minute to analyze the network....and probably suggest that the Time Capule will be configured to "extend"....which is wrong.
Click the Other Options button at the lower left
Click Add to an existing network
Next to Connect To.....select the wireless network name from the drop down list....if it appears. Otherwise type in the exact name of the wireless network.
    Click Next
Confirm any settings again and wait to see if AirPort Utility 6.3.1 will allow the Time Capsule to join the wireless network.
You have about a 1 in 5 chance that this will occur.
    Post back on your results.

  • How to configure network printer with Linksys WRT54GL router network

I just bought a Linksys WRT54GL router and I am planning to build the following home-network around it:
    1. A desktop computer connected to router via ethernet cable (hard-wired).
    2. An HP Network Printer (Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP) connected to router via ethernet cable (hard-wired).
    3. A notebook connected to router via Wi-Fi.
I want both computers (desktop and notebook) to be able to share files, and also to share the same network printer.
    a. How do I do this?
    b. Do I need to install the printer drivers in both computers as if the printer was local for each one?
    c. What settings do I need to include in the Linksys router settings (and also the printer settings) to allow all this? I've read on the internet about DHCP configs, IP address, etc. but I hardly understand anything.
A step-by-step ("for dummies") explanation will be extremely appreciated.

You will need to install the printer driver on each computer that will be using the printer.  You will need to have a printer driver that is designed to be used on a network.   Many of HP's drivers (but not all of them) can be used for either a USB or a network connection.
Usually, when you use HP's printer installation software, it will walk you through the printer installation procedure, and install the printer drivers.  This software is normally located on a CD that came with the printer.  Some installation software demands that you setup a USB connection first, then switch to a network connection.  Other installation software might install a network connection directly.  Just follow the HP directions.
There are no special settings in the router.  Simply wire (using an ethernet cable) your printer to a LAN port on the router, when the installation software (or instructions) tells you to do so.
Your printer will likely get a different LAN IP address (192.168.1.x )  from time to time.  Some printer drivers can handle this and still work properly.  Other printer drivers get confused, and cannot find your printer when it changes addresses.  If your driver has this problem, then you will need to assign your printer a fixed LAN IP address.  This will force the printer to have the same LAN IP address each time you boot up your network.   If you need to do this, you will need to enter the LAN IP address directly into your printer (Sometimes this is done using the printer's buttons and display panel, and sometimes this is done using HP printer software).  Note that any fixed LAN IP address must be outside your DHCP server range (defaults are 192.168.1.100  thru  192.168.1.149 ) , and it cannot end in 0, 1, or 255.  If you need to use a fixed LAN IP address, I would suggest you use 192.168.1.13 , which should be easy to remember by looking at the model number of your printer.   If you need to use a fixed LAN IP address, you will also need to enter the Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway 192.168.1.1 , and DNS Server 192.168.1.1 , into your printer.   If you use a fixed LAN IP address in the printer, you do not need to change any settings in the router.  The router will automatically find your printer when you turn your printer on.   Even if your printer is using a fixed LAN IP address, your computers can continue to get their address automatically from the router's DHCP server.

  • DNB integration with FSCM SAP Credit management

    Hi,
Any body worked on or integrated  DNB  with FSCM SAP Credit management ? if it is please share some information /document on integration.
    Thx
    DD

    Hi Ankur
You can integrate with DNB either online or batch mode .
    .Online mode
In this mode, a request is sent from FSCM to DNB for credit data. A response is sent by the DNB synchronously, for the request initiated from FSCM.
Following was done to implement this. Middle ware (java based) created a web service and in FSCM we created a client proxy to consume the web service.
To initiate the request from FSCM, we called a web service method using a custom program passing the relevant information like agency name, customer name etc.
To call the web service method through the proxy, we had to pass the port name in the proxy call. The URL for the web service was configured in the port (transaction LPCONFIG). Middle ware got the request and in real time passed it to the DNB using integration technique   The DNB sent response back to Middle Ware in real time and Middle ware passed it back to FSCM using the same web service used for the request from FSCM.
    . Batch mode -
In this mode, there was no request from FSCM side. Middle ware will aggregate credit data from DNB on periodic basis and dump the data as xml files in FSCM application server. A batch job (custom program) will be    scheduled in FSCM to process the xml files provided by Middle ware and update credit data from agencies in FSCM.
    Thanks

  • Constant Problems With Linksys Wirless Router

Ever since I bought this Linksys Wireless Router it's been the same ordeal. At certain times, depending on what websites I visit, it will knock me right off the internet and I can't get back on unless I restart my computer. It is so aggravating and annoying and takes like 10 minutes to restart each time. I was assured that the Linksys Wireless Router I bought was compatible with Vista. I've had this same problem ever since I bought it. I've talked to tons of technical support staff and none of them know anything. They all give me a different reason. They tell me I need to download new drivers or the latest version or whatever else, but nothing works. The same problem persists. One thing I have learned is that I get knocked off by going on specific websites. So, in order to use the Internet, I must avoid these known websites that cause me to get knocked off the Internet. I can try and reconnect, but it always says that no network connections are available afterwards, and I must restart my whole computer to get back on the Internet. I am perfectly fine going on these known websites on my other computer that has the actual modem/router hook up. Anyone know why this happens and if there's anyway to fix this? If not I am just going buy me a whole new router/modem cause I am tired of this crap. Thanks, Blake

Change the MTU size on the router to 1300 ... Also reset the browser security settings ....
You can also forward ports 25-27 & 443-447 ... to ensure that secure sites should open ....

  • Extreme as Remote using WDS with Linksys WRT54G router ??

I have seen that the Extreme cannot be used as a remote using WDS with a D-Link wireless router. Is the same true with Linksys wireless routers? I thought I would pose the question before purchasing my 3rd (2 dead, bad luck?) Express or purchasing two Extremes.
I will eventually gravitate towards using an Extreme as my main base station but I do need a remote for wireless printing. I was hoping to put off purchasing an Express until a later date.

Since it doesn't appear that everyone has gotten it to work with this router does that mean special tweeks are required? Is it hit and miss? The wireless router has the latest firmware updates and my network is running with WPA2. Comcast is my provider.

  • Lync 2013 integration with Avaya Aura Session Manager 6.3

    Dear All,
we are planning to integrate Lync 2013 with Avaya Aura Session Manager 6.3 and Avaya
Communication Server 6.3.1 for one of our client.
As per the technical documentation from MS, it shows the integration with lync 2013 with Avaya aura session manager
    6.3 and Communication Server 1000 (CS1K).
Please let me know is there any difference between Communication Server
    1000 (CS1K) and Avaya Communication Server 6.3.1.

    Hi,
From the link below of “Infrastructure qualified for Microsoft Lync”: Aura Session Manager 6.3 is supported with Lync Server 2013.
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dn788945
    Configuration Notes:
1.Media Bypass, RTCP, and History-Info were set to Enabled.
2.REFER and Session Timer were set to Disabled.
    Known Limitations:
1.With Media bypass enabled in Lync, for an incoming call to Lync client that has simultaneous ring to a number with early media enabled, caller will hear ring back instead of the early media.
2.Avaya Aura communication manager does not send disconnect to PSTN via ISDN trunk while receiving SIP 603 response from Mediation server for incoming call to Lync client. Caller will hear overflow tone and call will not disconnect until caller drops the
    call.
What’s more, it is better to contact IP-PBX vendor for the installation and set up as they have the complete documentation.
    Best Regards,

  • How to make AE work with Linksys E1500 Router

    I use Mac OS X 10.7.5
I want to use my AirPort Express (Serial # C86L11G8DV2R) as an extender to extend my WiFi network at home, but doesn't work because to set up either my Linksys E1500 Router or AirPort Express (?)
Can someone explain how I can set up my Linksys E1500 Router to make it compatible with AirPort Express?
    Thanks a lot!

You can use an Express to "wirelessly extend" a wireless network created by another Apple AirPort Base Station, but not a third party product.
You can use the Express as an additional wireless access point. To do that, connect it to your existing router with an Ethernet cable.

  • Issue with Linksys E3000 router wireless speeds

Hello! I recently upgraded my Comcast package to Blast and now I'm getting around 60 Mbps when connected directly to the modem via wire. However, when I connect via wireless, I'm not getting anything higher than 35+ Mbps. I have a Linksys E3000 router. The current settings that I have is 2.4 GHz, mixed network mode, channel width "auto", channel 11. I'm currently getting the highest possible speed on channel 11 since it's the least congested channel. I tried switching mode to N only to see whether it would improve the speed; however, it doesn't make any difference. Also, I tried speeds in 5Ghz settings as well, but I'm still getting the same speeds. The computer is approximately 10 feet away from the router. I've also tried testing speeds with the computer right next to the router, but still I'm getting same speeds. On the other hand, when I connect to the router via wire, then I'm getting the same fast speeds 60Mbps as I was getting when connected directly to the modem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

You must use WPA2-AES encryption.  Set to 20 Mhz only.  Try channel 1 or 6 also.  Disable WMM (media priority) and try again.

  • CCME integration with Microsoft Business Contact Manager

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me, if a CCME can be integrated with Microsoft BCM such that when a call comes in details of the client pop up, should they exist in the Business Contact Manager.
Finding exact information is like find a needle in a hay stack.
    Regards
    LN

    Hi Swinster,
    Apologize for the late reply.
What is your current situation? As JS2010 stated, also in this KB article:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2101557
During the 'Specialize phase' of Sysprep, Sysprep.exe looks at the Last Modified Date of the ntuser.dat file for each user profile to determine which user profile to copy to the default user profile. However, the earlier cleanup functions of sysprep.exe
loads each Ntuser.dat file to make security ID (SID)generalizations. You cannot predetermine which user profile will be copied if more than one user profile exists.
How about we skip the copyprofile option?
Further, see if the following article would help to customise the user profiles settings:
Configuring Default User Settings – Full Update for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2

Or we may consider seek help at the office outlook forum for the BCM deployment.

  • JDeveloper integration with Serena PVCS Version Manager

I have seen that Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.3 now supports Serena Dimensions for versioning. What about Serena PVCS Version Manager 8.1? Are there any plans to integrate JDeveloper with the PVCS Version Manager?

    Hi all,
Ward - Brian is absolutely right. As I said in my first posting on this topic (above), we have
not yet developed an extension for JDeveloper to enable users to work with PVCS Version
Manager, which I believe is a specific product, rather than an interface.
This is why I'd greatly appreciate it if you could possibly provide more details of this Interface
and indeed what Oracle support for PVCS with JDeveloper Merant referred to. Please see my
first posting above for more details.
Brian - I'm sorry you do not agree with our approach of using the open published SCM Framework
to build your own extensions for using JDeveloper with other source code control tools than those
    we support.
In an ideal world, we would have been able to offer support for every source code control tool on
the market with our first release of 9i JDeveloper. We were very keen to be able to achieve this and
we still plan and are currently looking into supporting more tools going forward and as many tools as
    possible in the long term.
Unfortunately, we only have limited time available for each release and based on the feedback we
received, after our committment to support Oracle9i SCM, CVS and ClearCase were the most requested.
Therefore, we tried to reach a compromise to enable users to provide their own support for a specific
tool should they wish, if they did not use any of those tools supported. Indeed, our research suggests
that the market for source code control tools is quite fragmented and that customers use a wide range
ot tools. So, we decided to publish our own SCM Framework, the same one we used for the SCM, CVS
and ClearCase support, in order to help users build their own extensions in a similar way to ours.
    Hope this helps,

  • HP Officejet 6500A plus with Linksys E3000 Router

Are there any known compatability issues with this printer and router connected wirelessly? Whenever I print something with just text, the printer seems to work fine, but whenever I print something a little but larger with a couple images, or color the printer seems to take forever as if the connection is timing out. I just recently bought the printer last weekend. Average time to print a full page of just text takes a few seconds, whenever I print anything with an image it seems like it prints a couple of lines, then stops for a few seconds, then a couple lines, etc. Sometimes will stop for over 30 seconds. Average print time exceeds a few minutes per page.
I have all recent updates, and I have the printer setup outside the DHCP range of the router on a static IP. Is there anything else I can do? I am hoping to find someone with the same router, perhaps there is a problem with my router settings?
I just recently got over printing issues with it printing gibberish and pages of random text on its own, especially after I would cancel print jobs. Now I would like to fix this problem.
Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.

OK, and the printer has the latest firmware as well? (Enable web services, update product).
What is the signal strength (from the front panel: Setup > Network > Wireless Network Test)?
Have you tried Ethernet?  Does it do the same thing?
I am kind of stumped, here.  Perhaps trying channel 1, changing to WPA only, 802.11g only (as experiments)?
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Using Catalyst 3550 Switch with Linksys Home Router and Cable Internet

I've about pulled what little hair I have out of my head on this one, and need some configuration help.
I have a Cisco Catalyst 3550 switch with five Windows 7 desktops, an Avaya PBX and five Avaya IP phones attached.  All of these devices are on a 192.168.0.0/24 subnet, and are communicating properly.  I will refer to this as network # 1. I also have SEPARATE network, we'll call network # 2, using AT&T ADSL service and a Netgear 4-port/wireless router/ADSL modem combo device, which is functioning properly with a couple of other Windows 7 desktops over its own wired Ethernet network, using DHCP, and also on a 192.168.0.0/24 subnet.  I thought it would be a simple integration, just plugging one of the 3550's ports to one of the DSL router's ports, in order to give the five Windows 7 desktop computers on network # 1 internet access via the DSL modem. Guess I was wrong.  When I connect the two switches together, although I get a good connectivity (green lights on both ports) and am able to ping the DSL router's gateway address (192.168.0.252) from network # 1's computers, the computers on network # 1 cannot access the internet. Also, the working computers on network # 2 lose their internet access as long as the two switches are connected together. I am not a Cisco guru, but there's got to be a way to make this scenario work.  Can someone provide me with a 3550 configuration that will allow me to extend my internet service from network # 2 on the DSL router to my 3550 switch and their computers?  Here's what I am looking for:
INTERNET ---> ADSL MODEM ---> NETGEAR ROUTER ---> CISCO 3550 SWITCH ---> NETWORK DEVICES WITH INTERNET ACCESS

The Netgear router is probably what's doing the natting. Is the 3550 configured for routing or is it straight L2? If you have the 3550 configured as L3, then it's going to be easy to do what you want. Just add a static route on the Netgear to point the subnet that it doesn't know about to the 3550. For example, if the Netgear is addressed at 192.168.1.1 and the Cisco 3550 is addressed at 192.168.1.2, but it also knows about the 192.168.0.0/24 (separate vlan), then you would put a static route on your Netgear for 192.168.0.0/24 to go to 192.168.1.2.
The way that I would do it is to create a separate vlan on the 3550 and assign an address to it. Once you do that, make the port that the other switch connects to an access port of that vlan. (It would need to be on the same subnet as the existing equipment.) All of your devices would use it as a default gateway and then you would do the rest as above. You could also use RIP between the Netgear and Cisco if you can't do static routing.
    HTH,
    John
