WRT300N and Battlefield 2142

Hey guys,
I put in a WRT300N wireless router a couple weeks ago. All of my online games work except Battlefield 2142.
Is there a way to make this game work through this router?
I read someone else's suggestion to give your PC a static IP and port forward a bunch of ports to your machine.
Is there an easier way to do it? I'm on a network at home and would prefer not going to static IPs.

you will have to use port forwarding/triggering for that. Or you can also try DMZ feature.

Battlefield 2142 and MAC OS X 10.5.5

Battlefield 2142 in Multiplayer mode does not connect with other Server after installing MAC OS X Update 10.5.5
When i try to update serverlist in BF nothing appears and an error occurred "check your network connection"
I'm a Networkadmin and i understand what i have to check, but my internet connectivity is up and running, i can ping google and surfing with safari works.
Only Battlefield does not run in multiplayer mode, it can not find any server and the list remains empty. I played the game a day bevor, after playing i switched my iMac in sleepmode and waked it up to install the update 10.5.5
any ideas

Ha! does it really work? i have the same but all i get is a black screen, soundtrack (i assume it's the intro) and then the logon screen that just times out when i try to login. I have other EA games, like C&C, and it works fine. What to do? thx.

New MBP 17 inch Problems with Windows Vista, and BF 2142

Hello!
So I just have 2 little issues that bug the **** out of me. OSX runs flawless. I love it.. But I use Vista to run Battlefield 2142.
So my first issue is the microphone. If I go to close the lid of the MBP, I get feedback from the speakers, and microphone. Even though I have the microphone on mute for Vista, it doesn't mute the microphone all the way.
If I Hook up a headphone to the output jack I can close the lid since it disables the MBP speakers.. But all my tapping and grunting can be heard via the heaphones.
Does anyone know if there is a fix? Or why the **** Vista isn't muting the device properly?
Now my other issue is Battlefield 2142.
I can get it running only when I have a External monitor plugged into the MBP, and the Lid is closed.
If I try to run Battlefield 2142 without a external monitor, and using the Display of the MBP, it crashes.. I have tried a ton of different Resolutions, and it is always the same story each time.
If anyone else has had these issues, and has found a solution, please share.

P.S Oh, another thing. I have a Quad G5 that I run Logic Pro on. It came out right before the Intel Mac Pro machines. If I sold the G5, and and used this new Macbook Pro, would the Macbook Pro that I now have perform better than my older G5 in Logic Pro?

Battlefield 2142 plaing SLOW after latest Leopard graphics update

I love using my MacBook Pro to play Battlefield 2142... but ever since I updated the software (which included a Leopard graphics update) the graphics are choppy, the play is stalling and generally slow.
What gives? It was working great before the update!?

I had the same problem with 5.3 and went back to 5.2 in order to play vid games. I saw 5.4 and thought befor I tried it Id call apple tech support to see what the deal is. I didnt get a straight answer. I am going to wait on the game manufactures to see if an update is planned. other wise I may have to get a microsoft dedicated machine for all my vid games. and it doesnt make sence to have to purchase 2 laptops.

Battlefield 2142 DVD not recognized for game play

So I ran out and bought the new Mac version of Battlefield 2142, install it and then launch the game and I get this error:
"Please ensure Battlefield 2142 installer disc is in the drive. Select ok and restart the application."
Well, the disc IS in the drive and still nothing. I have a lacie external dvd drive - same issue. Tried making a disk image & mounting that & then launching the game - no love there either...
I have an iMac 24" dual 2.33 Ghz, 3 gb RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT.
Any ideas?

WRT300N and SD2008

Hi, I'm trying to update my home network. I did have an older wired Linksys router and switch set up and everything was working fine.
I wanted to add wireless capability to my network and add a switch with more wired ports.
I'm now using the Linksys WRT300N and an SD2008 switch. I have 2 desktop computers, 2 Tivos, and 2 other wired jacks for connections.
The 2 desktops are both able to access the Internet.
The 2 Tivos can connect to the Internet for updates.
The 2 desktops can see the Tivos on the network.
The 2 Tivos CANNOT see the desktops (though they can see each other).
The laptop won't connect to the Internet or the home network via either of the other 2 wired jacks.
Via the Linksys Advisor, I can see both desktops and both Tivos from my desktop. I CANNOT see the laptop (no matter which jack it's plugged into).
(I haven't even tried to set anything up wirelessly yet.)
I don't have any clues at all how to fix any of this. I've tried disconnecting everything, reconnecting, it, recycling, etc.
Any suggestions?

In your computers, temporarily turn off the software firewall, including Windows Firewall, and see if that helps.

Wrt300n and Compaq nx8220

I have a brand new wrt300n and Compaq nx8220 and the can't connect.
Have the latest firmware.
I can se the networks but i cant connect to them.

The network shows up as unprotected.
I have no problem to connect with the workstation with WMP300N pci adapter fitted.
It's just the laptop that has this problem.
I have 2 Compaq nx8220 that has the same problem.

WRT300N and Gaming?

I have recently purchased a WRT300N and am having problems connecting to some of my computer games. I opened the ports on the router, but it doesn't seem like the ports actually opened. When playing Diablo II, I can be the server and have another computer on my LAN connect to me, but I cannot connect to another computer on my LAN. I also use a bit torrent program, it is telling me to recheck my port forwarding and make sure the proper ports are open. As far as other games like Rappelz go, I cannot connect to their servers to play. Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?

Opening ports on the router only affects connections from the internet into your LAN. It does not affect LAN connections. On the LAN side the router is basically a simple ethernet switch. If you can connect in one direction but not in the other it is usually because of a firewall installed on the computer to which you cannot connect.
Otherwise, please post the exact settings you have tried.

WRT300N and wireless G

I have the WRT300N and my laptop is only wireless g right now, how do I make it run in super g so i get 108 mbps instead of 54?

That is a great question. I don't see any clear documentation of the answer on the Linksys web site. Maybe someone else can point it out.
The general rule is that in order to get the most speed from your router, you must have a matching notebook adapter. Since you have a wireless-N router, you can probably expect the best performance if you got a wireless-N adapter for your laptop, such as the WPC300N.
If you only use an ordinary wireless-G card, you will be limited to 54Mbps.

Wrt300n and wap 4400n for network in iraq

Here is what i want to do and what i have. I need to know what else i need please:
I am in iraq trying to setup a wireless network with 2 parts. I have the wrt300n that will be connected to the internet to setup up wireless internet and the wap4400n so that i can setup a local network. the internet goes up and down so often that i need the local network to chat with others. from the router to my location is about 75ft with 15ft tall concrete barriors in the way. the wap4400n will be setup at my location. the computers that i want to communicate with for both internet and chat are aprox 175ft in a triangle from my location to two locations with concrete barriors periodically placed. i have not been able to test the system yet.
Question #1: what range extenders can I use that will allow me to extend both systems.
Question #2 what do these extenders need to be connected to(power) and are these antennas able to be placed outside?
Question #3: can the wap4400n be used as one of the extenders for the router to boost the internet signal?
Question #4: what is the reccomended distance before you need to get an antenna booster. I know this varies based on situation.

i don't think that the WAP4400N is capable of repeating the wireless signals..it can function only as an Access Point...so the only way to use it would be to run an ethernet cable between the WRT300N and WAP4400N...
if u want more range , better set up would be

BT Infinity, XboX and Battlefield 3

Hi,
I have a problem with playing Battlefield 3 on Xbox since i upgraded to 40meg infinity and the homehub 3.
The game is no longer fluid during gameplay it is stuttering, laggy and overall feels like it's been covered in treacle - i didn't suffer anything like this before i upgraded.
I was also getting the same disconnection issues that others have posted about but i manged to solve that by forwarding the correct port and disableing uPnP..
Any help is greatly appreciated!

What some people have found is that because the ping on Infinity is so low, game servers have something called lag compensation which effectively increases your latency to a similar level that others in the game is at.
I'm not sure if that's causing your problems.

WRT300N and laptop inconsistent connectivity

Once of twice a day I boot up my laptop and find that it has lost connectivity to the WRT300N. I'm usually able to restore it by pushing the reset button or fiddling with the software (I'm never quite sure what it is that I do that restores the connection successfully).
I have security enabled and when it works, it works great. What should I be looking for in order to make the connection more stable?

It seems that router setup page is not loading 100% .....
Disable firewall & antivirus software ....
Click start >> control panel >> Internet option >> Under ganeral .... click delete cookies & files .... click clear history .... click OK ....
Try opening once again the setup page....
If it still shows the same kind of page ....try upgrading of router firmware ...

Scout mode and sbx at same time? Zxr and battlefield 4

I just recently purchased a soundblaster zxr for playing battlefield 4. I'm still trying to find the best settings, if anyone can help, I would appreciate it so much.
When I try to enable scout mode, SBX pro studio becomes disabled. Likewise, when I have scout mode enabled and then I change a setting in SBX pro studio, scout mode becomes disabled. These two modes can't work together?

IMO scout mode already include a set of predefined SBX configurations... so Its either that or your own settings.

Updating Battlefield 2142 Patch 4.1 Not working. Why?

I just can't figure it out. The version out of the BF 2142 box is 1.25.485 (C). Then I use the 1.4 patch to try and fix. I check the version and it still shows as 1.25.485 (C). Same problems (constant drag when I play the online version). What am I doing wrong? I dump prefs. I clean out anything related to BF2142 and I still have problems. Please help.

Hello all! I know there squillions of posts related to this subject but i still cannot find a resolution and so thought it would be good to get a definiti've result as I guess someone out there must have got it working! Here is the problem:
XF-I card, when installed and when I try to run Battlefield 2 results in either a complete crash of the entire system after about 0 seconds, or a massi've slow down after 5 minutes once i have got past the initial 0 second problem (BF 2 audio set to X-Fi mode)-!!
I have tried the following:
-Uninstalling XF-I drivers and installing beta drivers (FAIL)
-Reintalling BF2 and patches (FAIL)
-Reinstalling O/S (x64), patching then installing battlefield 2 (FAIL)
-Resintalling O/S (x86), patching then installing battlefield 2 (FAIL)
-Tried renaming the OAL.DLL in bf2 directory and replacing with the one supplied with the card (FAIL)
-Completely removing XF-I card and reverting to onboard sound (works)
-As I use Teamspeak i tried running without teamspeak on (FAIL)
Everything else seems to be working ok? Please can someone advise as to a once and for all fix if one exists? (version is XF-i Extrememusic edition).

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
