WRT300N Firmware Upgrade

Hi,
When i download the new released firmware version 0.93.9 on Linksys website, the zip file is empty, does anyone had the same problem ? May i find the new version anywhere else ?
Thanks.

It is a BIN file.  What I did last night, and it worked cause I'm using the WRT 300 to send this, is load the file to your desktop, then update the firmware to the router from the desktop.  I'm unsure where the firmware server is, but here in China the internet has  been more than a little bumpy since the earthquake off Taiwan.
By loading the file to your desktop, you can take all the time you need, and not hang up the router, and take a chance of a corrupted or partial file.

  • WRT300N Firmware upgrade fail.

    Hello,
I tried upgrade my new wrt300n from 2.00.08 to 2.00.13, after the upgrade had finished a re-attached to the web-config and saved the config, the router then rebooted itself, now i cannot even ping it.
I've tried holding the reset button for 10 sec, 30 sec, 1 min etc...
and tried power off, hold in for 30 secs (which makes the power led flash green & orange).
and set my laptop to static ip 192.168.1.50, but i still cannot ping the router. so cannot try the tftp upgrade.
any suggestions on what to try next??Message Edited by m4tt8 on 10-12-200601:45 PM

so that would only mean that you have the wrong firmware of the router. that's the reason why you cant ping the router anymore. tsktsktsk. how sad
    do this one:
    1. disable any anti-virus software on the PC as well as the windows firewall, make sure to turn them off.
    2. then, do set the nic card of the PC to 10half mode.
use this link and it it will guide you how to force the card to 10half:
    http://linksys.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/linksys.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=945&p_created=108663...
    3. try to ping the router again > if you get replies > try downgrading the firmware of the router. (if no replies > assign static ip.. it should give you replies then.)
and make sure that you download the correct firmware of your router.

  • WRT300N Firmware v0.93.9 - which upgrade version can I install?

I think I can upgrade my firmware, but I don't know which version.
The firmware version on the web interface says v0.93.9.  But the version on the CD says 1.3.  Neither of those choices are available when I go to the Download page at Linksys.
Can someone tell me which firmware version I can safely upgrade my router to?
    Thanks.

  • Firmware upgrade fails

I am having trouble upgrading the firmware on my WRE54G. My hardware is v.3 and the existing firmware is 3.01.01.
I downloaded the latest firmware and extracted the .img file. I went to the admin page of the expander, pointed it towards the new firmware, and hit "go." After a minute or so it said something like:
    Firmware upgrade fail.
    Fail!
    No reasons are given.
Anybody have any idea what is going on?
    Thanks,
    Garth

I had a similar problem upgrading firmware with my WRT300N. What i did to solve the problem was first i downloaded and went through the winzip program given for the router, then i went back to the webpage of the router and retried the upgrade and it worked. I actually ignored by routers version, and downloaded and went through each winzip program and each firmware upgrade for every different version . **i only downloaded the firmware up to my version and my version**.

  • WRT300N v2 upgrade does nothing.

    Hi,
I am trying to upgrade my WRT300N v2 (silver case) from 2.00.08 to 2.00.20. I did the 2 steps as described in the readme (1. flash wrt300n.bin, 2. flash wrt300n-2.00.20.bin). After each file upload I just end up on the setup page. No message like 'uploaded firmware. Rebooting...'. I restarted the router myself but I still have 2.00.08. I also tried upload file1, reboot, upload file2, reboot. Still nothing. Any ideas?
    Joshua.

Try to upgrade firmware by using firmware upgrade tab under Administration on router set up page. Then hard reset the router and then check if you get upgraded firmware version on router set up page.

  • WRT300N Firmware not working!

I was trying to upgrade my v 1.0 WRT300N firmware to the latest firmware 0.93.9. I wasn't doing anything but watching it. It was upgrading and suddenly this page of code came up with nothing else on the screen but a white background and the code. I tried accessing the 192 page but nothing but a blank screen came up. A few minutes passed and I reloaded the page that had the code (192.168.1.1/upgrade.cgi) and it came up with a page that didn't have anything but a black background with a white box that had a continue button inside. I clicked the continue but it didn't do anything. I waited a few minutes and still nothing. I tried accessing the 192 page again, but it loads empty.
What happened??? I can still access the internet from it, but nothing else.

hi ,....looks like something messed up when upgrading the firmware.....
well the only option that you have here is to reset the router.....there is a reset button on the rear panel......press and hold down this reset button for 1 minute.....unplu the power once you release the reset button ,......turn it back on after 15-20 secs and restart your PC....now check if you are able to access the web page of the router using http://192.168.1.1 ....

  • Firmware upgrade crippled cp1025nw

LaserJet CP1025nw color: was working flawlessly
received email from HP 4/3/2012, recommending firmware upgrade to v 20120130.
ran upgrade 4/3/2012 from iMac, OS10.6.8.
    got error: 'update failed'
print queue says 'printing', cp1025nw doesn't respond.
printer lights:  orange triangle enclosed exclamation mark plus green semicircle
This means: fatal error, per the user manual.
manual instructs to turn off, unplug, plug-in, turn on.  I did this several times.
printer lights still indicate: fatal error.
HP utility says: device status: unknown, service ID: unknown, FW version: unknown, driver version 2.0.20110727
tried to print configuration page: got error 'cannot establish two-way communication with the device'
printer and computer are connected with USB cable,  (this cable / port communicates without issue to Epson inkjet printer)
Tried printing from Dell laptop: Latitude E6410 with USB cable: Windows XP professional, 2002, service pack 3.
has routinely printed from this computer previously.
error message in printer queue: 'error - printing',
Dell said 'found new hardware'  tried to install with HP cd-rom
error message said 'the hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software'
ran the HP print diagnostic utility HPPDU.exe file from the Dell with USB cable: 'Everything checks out okay with your printer'
print test page: no response from the cp1025nw
    What should I try next?

Since my last post I’ve retried the same troubleshooting described before, this time just from the PC.  The result is still the same.  Lights on the cp1025nw indicate “fatal error”.
Does anyone know how to put this printer into ‘bootcode’ mode?  I’ve read about this in some other posts about HP firmware updates trashing printers.
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=...
    and
    http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/laser/63535
Is there some combination of button presses that sends the printer into bootcode so it is ready to accept the firmware?

  • HDMI output not working since firmware upgrade

I would appreciate troubleshooting tips for getting the HDMI output to work. I just tried it recently for the first time in a long while, approximately 4 weeks after doing the firmware update to 2.2. When I did it before, plugging in the HDMI cable would automatically start output to my HD TV. Now that is no longer the case. Changing the HDMI output from "Auto" to "720p" does not make a difference either.
Otherwise, everything works well and I've been satisfied with my Creative 7 to date. I have installed several apps so it could be that there is a conflict and nothing related to the firmware upgrade.
Any troubleshooting suggestions would be appreciated.

Well I've received my refurbished device for about a week now. The HDMI still doesn't work either with Zii Video or a 3rd party app MoboPlayer. ?I am tempted to reinstall the firmware upgrade again. Is it ok to try this or is it only a one time attempt?
Perhaps this should be a separate thread but are any of the "Phone 2 SD" apps compatible with the Ziio 7? Whenever I use the "Move to SD card" option, there is still no program moved to the external SD card. ?I have a Ziio 7 with 6 GB of memory as well as a 6GB micro SD card. ?My memory settings are:
    - SD Card: total space - 5.43GB; Available space - 5.43GB
    - Device media storage: Total space - 2.48GB; Available Space - 2.3 GB
    - System storage: Total Space - .97 GB; Available space - .59GB
In Settings>Applications>Manage Applications, the "On SD Card" tab lists several programs lists several apps but none of them are actually on the external SD card.

  • Sky Router firmware upgraded - can no longer login with credentials

I usually have no problems accessing my sky router (white Sky Hub with ADSL) via the page 192.168.0.1 however I tried to login the other day and was greeted with an updated looking summary screen - all very nice I thought, let's go and explore! However when I put in the usual details - username: admin, password: sky I get prompted to input my details again which is very odd. Now I know that I am the only one who accesses the router in this way as my flatmate has never logged in and probably never will so I can only assume the firmware upgrade has caused the password/username to change. I logged in the other week and the password is saved in my browser so I am sure I am not making any mistake here. I have tried in chrome and IE just in case but I have the same issue in both. Has the new firmware brought a new default password? I cannot find any reference to this anywhere on this site so it seems unlikely. I would rather not reset my router to default settings as I have devices with static IP addresses and port forwarding setup that will take me some time to reconfigure. I don't think there is any feature to backup the config unless you are actually logged in to the router but would love to be worng about this. I am guessing I will have to bite the bullet and reset to factory defaults but would welcome any help or suggestions if possible?

After review the events of the morning.....
I normally keep my routers in the basement where my eth jacks all hub.  High on a shelf, I got reasonable coverage on 2.4Ghz even on the second floor.  I went to this router for the Dual mode, but found the 5Ghz didn't make it sufficiently well to the second floor.  So it was moved to the first floor, on a counter.  That morning the router started acting up a bit, not bringing an iphone online.  It was looked at - and a couple of post cards that had been placed on top, removed.  Air flow was not blocked around the sides in any way - just a few pieces of card stock on top to interfere with convection off the top.
    1.  There is no way to look at temperature - maybe the device doesn't even know its own temp.
    2.  There is no fan that I can discern.  Clearly, creating a device that is designed to sit on a flat surface in a home environment ought to take into consideration "normal impediments to air flow".   Temp controlled fans is simple, well proven tech.
    3.  This design is small, has TWO radios, sits horizonal (thus is going to have lousy convection) - seems to me an engineer ought to have given more thought to not only providing the user with easy to obtain data (temp), alternative methods (fan/vertical mounting) and/or self-protection (to hot, I'm shutting down rather than corrupt my database).
Having spent millions on Cisco gear in my career, I would have hoped that Cisco+Linksys would have a little more Cisco and a little less Linksys.

  • PC-Suite sync fails after Firmware upgrade of E65

After firmware upgrade of E65 PC-Suite stops syncing Calendar & Contacts from outlook. No error messages, just "0 entries has been updated".
    - PC-Suite updated to 7.0.9.2
    - Outlook 2003
    - XP Prof.
    Any ideas?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The funny thing is - the notes are synced???? If I restore some old contacts they'll double up in outlook, so I think the problem is, that the sync app doesn't see the outlook contact & calendar folder.
    Does somebody has an idea?

  • No power after firmware upgrade on nomad jukebox zen xtra

I have the nomad jukebox zen xtra 30gig that froze up over a year ago after i tried to install the firmware upgrade. After the unsuccessful attempt, the mp3 player stopped working.... I mean no power at all. I've changed the battery and recharged the battery from an outside source...still no luck. I can't even try any of the suggestions anyone gives on this site because I have no power.Does anyone have this problem? More important, does anyone have this problem and know of a solution?I've already set my pc back to wmp 0, I have the firmware on the desktop waiting. Now all I need is some power on this unit so that i can try some of the suggestions that seems to be working for people. Thank you

I have the same problem too, but my unit is a?Creative Normad Junebox Zen Xtra 40GB. I was trying to find a solution to my problem when I read about your problem. I have pressed the reset button, on / off switch, removed the battery, reinstalled the battery, and nothing seems to work. I was hoping you?might get a solution to this problem, so that I might be able to fix my MP3 player. If I hear of a solution, I will let you know, thanks for sharing. Issue:? While updating the firmware to the Zen Xtra 40 GB, the unit powered down and?has never came on again. There seems to be no real reason why the unit should not power up. • No contacs after firmware upgrade on N70

    Hi
I did a firmware upgrade yesterday on my N70 using NSU. Of course I did a backup using the uptodate Nokia PC suite. After the firmware upgrade I saved the data back to the phone aagin using the Nokia PC suite. Everything looks good except that no contacts are there.
I did the upgrade again just to make sure that everything went OK with the same result.
Can some help or has the same problem?
    Firmware V 5.0638.3.0.1 18-09-06 RM-84
    PC Windows XP SP2
    Nokia PC Suite 6.82.22.0

    Best regards
    Chris

not sure about your PC Suite version but this has been well documented in these forums and I had the same problem and with N70. I think it was mentioned as a PC Suite issue, or a combined PC Suite issue N70 issue with many people reporting it. Anyway nothing you can do but enter your contacts or transfer from another phone

  • Firmware upgrade correct steps?

We are carrying out a firmware upgrade on our 9509’s from 3.3(1c) to 5.2(2) and I want to know if the steps below are correct?
Check hosts for paths to both Fabric's.
Take a backup of the config for all the switches.
On Fabric A upgrade switch 1 to 4.1(x)
Upgrade switch 2 in Fabric A to 4.1(x)
On Fabric A upgrade switch 1 to 5.0(x)
Upgrade switch 2 in Fabric A to 5.0(x)
On Fabric A upgrade switch 1 to 5.2(2)
Upgrade switch 2 in Fabric A to 5.2(2)
When happy, then do the same for Fabric B for the other switches.
    Thanks

looks good, just follow the release notes to go to the correct intermediate code level so that upgrade is non disruptive
