WRT300N v2 Port blokking

Hello there,
I was trying to block limewire from the internet using
6346-6348 UDP and TCP blocking, and putted the mac address that
it need to be blocking for. But when I do that it will still allow
you to connect to port's in that range.
Is this function still corrupted.
Even I mis options in my router that could be usefully for business and
others. Like the UpnP port mapping list etc.
What can I do with that issuel of blocking limewire?
friendly regarts,
Teus

Really,
I wonder why the hardware and firmware are different. Are v2 units going to work
ok here in the US. I hope I haven't made a huge mistake trading in my v1 units.
I feel like I am in quicksand and sinking no matter what I do.
Does that mean the power supplies shipped with the v2 units will be for 50 cycle/second
100volts instead of 60/120?
I will post when I know more. If anyone can fill me in any more about the v2 units, please let me know...

  • Linksys WRT300N Open port 443, Lease Time

    Hello. Definite Newbie here.
I have my router's IP address up on my browser and I was wondering how to open port 443 and to make my "Lease time" at its maximum. Can someone help me?
    Thanks in advance.
    Erik

pen an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
Once you login to the setup page of your Router, under the setup tab below change the DHCP Client lease time from to 0 to any number to increase the lease time.
Then click on the "Application and Gaming" tab and below click on the sub tab "Port Forwarding" and below in the Application name type any name and then in the Start Port and End Port type the Port number and select the Protocol and input the IP address on which you want to Forward the Port and check the box and click on save settings..
You can follow this link and it will help you in forwarding the port on your router.

  • Help needed setting up network

    Hi
I have an NTL/Virgin Media cable modem with 20mb service.
I did have this connected to a WRT300N 4 port wireless router which had 1 PC running XP connected to port 1.
port 2 had a mains powerline ethernet adaptor which fed to an xbox360.
port 3 went to a DLink 16 port which had 1 Vista PC and an HP Laser printer attached.
I also have from this hub 1 airport extreme and 1 macmini which has a 1TB usb hdd as iTunes library which was wirelessly serving an Apple TV.
my Macbook Pro laptop was getting wifi from the airport extreme but backing up to a 1TB time machine via ethernet.
allthough all was working internet speeds seemed very slow (even though not all on at the same time) on speed tests i was getting around 2mb downloads. so i thought i would try and refine the setup.
by plugging the macbook pro into the cable modem i get speeds around 17-19mb, as soon as i put the wrt300n in between speeds drop back to 2mb even just putting the dlink hub in between the modem and macbook pro the speed drops right down.
can anyone help with network setup suggestions where i can let my wife use xp for internet and email whilst i can use the macmini to download itunes tv, movies and music and stream to apple tv and occasonally xbox online without lag etc???
    all help greatly appreciated

Agreed. I'd keep at it yourself. I guarantee it will be something simple.
what are the benefits of a switcher? (never used one before) any recomends?
A switch is just like a hub, except that instead of always sending packets to your entire network, it only sends them where they need to go. The benefits grow with the size and speed of your network. Switches used to be much more expensive than hubs but not any more. Normally I'd recommend almost any Linksys device, but in this case dlink seems to have a better one:
    http://www.amazon.com/D-Link-DGS-2205-5-port-Desktop-Switch/dp/B000FIVDIA
Again, I don't think your dlink hub is responsible for this dramatic bottleneck though.

  • How to enable port forwarding in WRT300N

i have WRT300N installed in my office
need to give RDP session to 2 differnet machines connected in my router from outside i have T1 link
with valide IP configured for the router
    please help me

To access your computer using RDC from a Remote location, Follow the steps below.
Login to the Router setup page and click on Application and Gaming tab and under "Single Port Forwarding" in the Application Name type "Comp A" and in the Start Port : 3390 - End Port : 3389 , Protocol : TCP , Enter the IP address of the Computer and check the Box Enable.
For 2nd Computer in Application Name : Type "Comp B", Start Port : 3391 - End Port : 3389 , Protocol : TCP ,  Enter the IP address of the Computer and check the Box Enable and click on Save Settings...
Once you are done with this settings, to access your computer using RDC from the remote location, Note down the WAN IP, which you will find it under the Status tab. To connect to your Computer A, in RDC type WAN IP:3390 and click on Connect, it will let you connect to Computer A.

  • Opening ports on WRT300N

    hi everyone
if you solve my problem you will truly be kings and queens.
im struggling in my student house, with the new WRT300n on a 100 MBits connection - it should be super-fast?!
Well i've given up trying to solve it and want to see if i open many of my ports, whether it will be any faster.
I know how to open ports, but it seems that you can only do it to ONE ip address, which is silly because theres 6 people using the router in my house.
Ive obviously missed a silly detail - but can someone help me open the common ports to all/any ip adress?
    thanks in advance!
    Jack

For the WRT300N router the 300 mbps will only work with the wireless connections not the wired. Plus in order to have the 300 mpbs speed on the router you shoud be using a 300N card.
    For Openning ports:
On the WRT300N there are three ways to open a router one is through single port forwarding which is essensiatly UPNP forwarding just changed the nam. The next way is port forwarding which like single port forwarding is only opening port on 1 IP address. Third is Port triggering which is actualy opening ports for all the PCs and devices connected to the router.
    Hope This Helps

  • WRT300N - Port 1 Light not working

Just wanted to know if anyone has experinced the LED port light not functioning...Details:
The Router seems to be working fine...It is just bothering me that the Port 1 light is not working....I have that port active with a Vonage Modem and the Vonage Modem is working fine.....It is just annoying me that the light is not functioning onthe WRT300N...
I noticed the previous day it WAS working.....
Hasa anyone else encountered this and If you got it to work again how do you accomplish this...

Well the LED does not light at all, or it flashes in a while? Anyways if the port is working then, why to worry about it!

  • WRT300N port forwarding

I'm attempting to perform port forwarding for 443 to the IIS server inside of the network.  The network is setup with a modem/router from the ISP in passthrough mode heading to my WRT300N router.  Everything from the internet should apparently be hitting the linksys router according to my ISP.  I have setup port forwarding for single port and port range for 443 to the specified server, yet nothing.  I can hit the IIS server from inside the network using the IP address in https:// mode.  I enabled logging and saw outgoing all good, yet incoming was empty.  Any thoughts/suggestions would be very appreciated.  Thank you, Dave.

I was remoting to my home network and hitting the public IP.  I think I might have deeper issues as to why this wasn't working.  Having trouble with hitting SSL on the IIS server locally.  Still, I should have seen incoming traffic right?

  • Forward one port to multiple ip addresses WRT300n

Is it possible to forward one port to all IP addresses on the network. I tried to use the broadcast address but it doesnt allow that.
    any help is appreciated

You can only forward traffic to a single IP address. Anything else is impossible. It would be like you talking to 10 persons at the same time... Total confusion...

  • WRT300N Not forwarding ports

I am trying to forward ports 2934 and 2935 to use with Falcon 4.0. About a month ago my ISP(Rogers) provided us with a new modem to replace our very old one. Now, I am not able to forward any ports, I know how to forward them and have done it in the past, but it now does not want to work at all. I tried scanning the ports that I have opened but it says they are closed. Is this a problem with the router, or is it the modem causing this? If it is the router, is there a way to fix this? It is very frustrating.

Try first the connection or the Ports are opened for Modem or not ...
if not then talk to your Internet Service  Provider ...
if yes .. then make sure that you are using static Ip for ports forwarding .....
Also you can check for upgraded firmware also ....

  • Trouble connecting WRT300N to the Playstation 3 (PSN)

OK so I just bought a new Linksys Router (WRT300N) upgraded from the WRT54GS, which was having issues connecting to the PSN.
So now Ive hooked up my new router and still getting the same issues... PSN connection timing out.
Ive tried everything under the sun for both routers... port forwarding, DMZ, disabling any security on my routers, firmware upgrade... you name it.
Im wondering if anyone has the new router I have and had problems connecting to the PSN and if you were able to fix it??? If so how...
I should note too, that if I go wired from my PS3 to my internet modem... it works A ok... but Id prefer not to have a 75 foot long ethernet cable running around our house...
    Help
    Cheers in advance!

Nada.... Ive done most of the obvious stuff... port forwarding, DMZ, static IP. The odd thing is... my neighbor has the same PS3 I have 60 gig, same router, same ISP... I cant figure out whats wrong with this...
    Please help...
    Hi JIGGGsaw ,
Few things in mind you should take care of once trying to perform the settings on router.
    1. enabled the DMZ - with the static ip let says - 192.168.1.55
    2. Click security Tab > unchek filter anonymous internet request.- save settings.
    3. administration tab > check if UPnP is enable ,if not then enable it .
    4. Now once if , you are not able to connect through wireless networking Option in PS3. then try adding the Networking settings manually Like-
      Ip address - 192.168.1.55
    Subnet mask- 255.255.255.0
    Gateway       - 192.168.1.1
    DNS settings -
    Primary DNS - 4.2.2.2
    Secondary DNS - 192.168.1.1
NOTE : First Try With only WEP security level or unsecured network if it works , then later change the security.
NOTE 2: Wireless settings :  Radio band- standard 20mhz
                                                               wide: 3
                                                       standard : 11,9,1,6 (any one)
Let me know the status now?

  • Trouble connecting WRT300N to internet

Been at it for a few hours, just got this router and I'm having a field day with it. Everything is plugged in right, but whenever I try to get an IP address or connect to the internet through the setup, it won't recognize that it's connected to the internet. Plugged in my BEFSR41 wired router and it works just fine. So I don't get what's going on.

Connected the Modem to WRT300N using Ethernet cable at the Internet port of router.
Connect another cable from either 1-4 ports from back of router to the computer.
Open routers set up page using http://192.168.1.1 …..You will get username & password ….leave username blank & in password use admin.
    Try to configure the router.

  • VPN to access NAS attached to WRT300N remotely?

I have a WRT300N which has a SimpleShare network attached storage device (NAS) connected.  I would like to be able to access files on the NAS and use the attached printer remotely when I am away from the house.  The SimpleShare has a print server built in also.
Is the best way to do this with a VPN?  Ultimately I would like to be able to access the files directly on the SimpleShare rather than setting up a server at home.
Thanks for any and all help.

There are two options. Firstly, if your NAS supports FTP hosting and your printer supports IPP (internet Printing) then you can simply host an FTP server through the NAS and enable IPP on the printer. You may just required ports on the router. Secondly you can try a VPN, for that you may need a VPN router so using it you can create a VPN connection.

  • How do you to set an limit speed on your router port

Hi, I got a WRT300N and there 4 port. I like to know if we can set an limit speed on 1 of these 4 port? Example, my port 2 is using for download and I like to limit the speed like 50k/sec. If yes, please could you guide me how do I make the settings? Thank you

NO, there is no such settings on your Router, which will control your computer speed, Router will distribute the same speed on all the computers. May be you can search for some software we does that.

  • WRT300N: Class C routing & NAT

    Hi,
I've just been brought in to as a network admin to manage the network of small 'net cafe. The network the admin before had setup really turned out to be a disaster.
Okay, here's the breakdown of the equipment I have available:
    30 hosts
    3 switches (10 hosts each)
    1 WRT300N broadband router
Note: Wireless services are not being used
The ISP over here has assigned us five IP addresses, but since we have 30 hosts we obviously need to use NAT.
What I would like to do is implement some sort of Class C subnetting for the three groups of hosts connected into the switches.
I'd like to use subnets of either 192.168.1.0-192.168.3.0 (255.255.255.0) or even a mask of 255.255.255.240 since a block size of 16 on each subnet will be sufficient. (Each switch is connected into a port of the WRT300N).
My questions are: Can I accomplish this using just the WRT300N and still be able to use NAT to enable my hosts to access the 'net through ADSL? And if so, how? And if this is not possible, then do I need to get another Linksys router so that I can get my network up and running smoothly by connecting the WRT300N to the new router and then connecting the switches to the new router as well? If this is the case, which wireless router would all of you recommend I get?
The name of the game here is to optimize speed, so I'd really like to break down the broadcast domains by subnetting.
    Thanks in advance.
    - T.

Yes you can use the router WRT350N for using the NAT settings on the router ....
You can connect the router in between Modem & Switch ...
