WRT320N & Intel 5300, unable to connect.

Im having problem connecting when using encryption.
There are no problems with the wireless when im using no encryption.
I've tried WEP WPA/WPA2... Mixed mode, only B/G/N modes. 2.4/5Ghz tried to update driver for my Intel 5300 wireless card, also tried to downgrade driver... tried the XP wireless client and Intels Proset software.
I still get the issue where it starts to connect, and it says that its connected for about 3-4 seconds and then it "disconnects" itself.
If i set a static IP on my computer it stays connected to network even with encryption but i am unable to communicate with router trough wlan.
Router has the latest 1.0.02 firmware.
Any tips or tweaks to test?

How many wireless computers do you have ?
Are you getting on all the computers ?
You can try upgrading / reflashing the router's firmware.
Go to website linksysbycisco.com/downloads.........insert model no of your router in serach tab......select proper version of your router........download the firmware file......save that file on desktop
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...
In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful" After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
Now reset your router :
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

• Intel Macs: Unable to Connect to Internet on OS X; Works on Windows XP

Shortly after updating my systems to OS X 10.4.8, both my computers (iMac 20" Intel Core Duo & 1.83 MacBook) failed to connect to the internet when booting to OS X. I see my wireless network, and I can connect to it, but I cannot access the Internet.
Conversely, switching to Windows XP on both CPU's allows me to connect the Internet. Are there any settings I need to check or change that allow me access to the Internet? I tried resetting my router (Netgear MR814), turning my Airport Card on and off, and repairing permissions on both computers to no avail. Again, it had worked before, and connected to the Internet stopped on OS X only. Has anyone experienced this problem or have any suggested solutions?

In Network, check if Proxies got set, or unset if you need them. Also check the DNS settings. If you're using Static IPs the Windows® one might have taken it up.

• T500 Intel Wifi 5350 is unable to connect automatically with Windows 8.1

Hello, I have searched the forums to see if there is a similar problem like the one I am having, but, did not come across. I bought my T500 in 2009 with XP installed. I have recently installed Windows 8.1 and started to experience problems with my Intel Wifi 5350. Upon restart, the driver is unable to connect to my home wifi. In order to connect, I need to go through trouble shooting and reset the wifi link, which, then, fixes the problem. When I first installed Windows 8.1, I did not have this problem. It seemed to have happened after a few auto updates.
The driver software I have is 13.3.0.137 with a date of 8/15/2010. Driver provider is Microsoft.
I downloaded but not yet installed Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software for Windows 8.1 Wireless_17.1.0_De164.exe. I am not sure if this will fix it. I wanted to ask this first before I do something. If you have had this before or know the answer, could you please post specific links to which drivers I should install manually? Thanks! I appreciate if you could be specific in your responses as I am not super tech savvy.

When I press Fn+F5 I get the charms bar as attached in my 1st post, but not a popup

• WRVS4400N V2 and Intel 5300 AGN can't connect at N speeds

Hi,
I have a Dell Latitude E6500 with the Intel WiFi Link 5300 AGN adapter. I cannot get it to connect to my WRVS4400N V2 at anything higher than 54 Mbps. I have downloaded the latest driver from Intel and N mode is enabled. Has anyone else managed to get these two to work together?
Thanks in advance.

I am having the same problem as kirksaban. I have an HP EliteBook 8530p with an Intel 5300 AGN. It can detect my WiFi network from the WRVS4400N is 802.11n, but it will only connect at 802.11g speeds. We have both an older and newer MacBook Pro that both can connect faster than 54 Mbps, but the HP will not. I checked the product brief on Intel's site and it claims the 5300 AGN will operate at both 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz (I will try to paste URLs below). Where did you find it would only operate at 5.0 GHz? Are we sure the band on the 5300 AGN is the problem?

Ok, I was able to succesfully connect to the database from the client. I made the following changes to the sqlnet.ora, tnsnames and listener. Here are the changes I made:

• Unable to Connect to WiFi after iPhone power off; WiFi & internet are working with MBP; common problem, no solutions?

Here's my setup: Internet <> Comcast/xFinity supplied cable modem <> new Apple Time Capsule <> iPhone 4 & MacBook Pro (see below for hardware details)
Internet on my iPhone 4 has been acting slow since yesterday evening. My MacBook Pro was running fine, but just to be sure I checked the Comcast website to see that I have only used 50GB of my allotted 250 GB of data for the month, so it's not that.
I decided it must be a problem with just my iPhone, so I opened up the multitasking bar and quit everything in there manually, and then I held the on/off button, and slid the slider to power off. When I started back up, I could not connect to the same WiFi I had just been using. I tried to reconnect and nothing. I tried to forget the network and try again, nothing. I tried to reset all network settings, nothing.
I have tried all the steps listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398 "iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections"
Toggled WiFi off and back on
Made sure I am in range of the router (it's about 8 feet away and my iPhone reports full signal from the network)
Made sure all the hardware is connected and on
Checked other devices (I'm successfully connected with my MacBook Pro right now)
Checked for router firmware upgrades (I have a new Time Capsule from Apple with the current 7.5.2 firmware which I've been using for a month)
Restarted my device (again)
Checked that the network is available (it does show on my iPhone)
Restarted my Time Capsule
Checked my router configuration as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3727 "Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network" which involves simply checking to see that WMM is turned on, also stating that WMM cannot be enabled or disabled for Apple's AirPort products.
Reset my network settings (again)
I have searched and searched for fixes to this problem, and I have additionally tried:
Enabling/disabling Airplane Mode
Disabling any network password protection/encryption (no luck), re-enabling it (no luck)
Changing the network password
Checking for hardware addresses present in iOS Settings > General > About (they are present and not zero'ed out)
Switching Bluetooth off (nothing) and back on (nothing)
....and probably a few other things I can't think of right now
I have yet to try:
The "Freezer Trick" which apparently involves chilling the iPhone to get a temporary fix?
Restoring the iPhone (I would really rather not)
A different WiFi network (other than my own Time Capsule home network or guest network, both of which give the same Unable to Connect error)
So, after all of that, are there any more ideas? Is there a reliable solution to this issue? So far I've just seen a lot of "mess with the settings," "the freezer trick worked," and "blame it on the iOS 4 update."
Here are my hardware details:
iPhone 4; iOS 5; 32GB; AT&T; no cellular data plan (July 2011)
TimeCapsule6,113; Firmware 7.5.2; 2TB (September 2011)
MacBook Pro 3,1; Mac OS X (10.7.2); 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo; Hi-Res Display; 4GB RAM; 500GB HD (August 2007)
...and the Time Capsule config:
http://cl.ly/BCUt

Ugh. Apparently "messing with it" is still the answer. I decided to try the LinkSys router I was using before I bought the Time Capsule, and my iPhone connected with no problem.
I went through the steps again, and after rebooting my Time Capsule this time, I can connect again. The troubling thing it that this started with a power-off of my iPhone. No changes or installations, just a reset. Am I going to have to reboot my Time Capsule (which has no power switch, just a cord I have to unplug) every time I reboot my iPhone?
Jinkies.

• MacBook (10.4.11) is unable to connect to wifi networks

After updating with 10.4.11 (and the associated 2008-01 Airport update) a few months ago, my Intel MacBook has been unable to connect to my WPA2 network.
It will see my network name in the Airport drop-down menu, but fail to actually connect. The icon appears as if the notebook is rapidly connecting and disconnecting -- switching from five bars of signal to none and back again every few seconds. During this time, my MacBook never reports getting a connection, and all other devices on the network experience severe interference. I am able to connect to most, but not all, unsecured networks.
System Profiler reports my wireless card as AirPort Extreme (0x168C, 0x86), Firmware Version: 1.3.5 .
My router is a D-Link DGL-4300 with the most recent firmware. I am running an 802.11g network at 2.437ghz.
I've tried the following already, unfortunately without success:
. Switching to WPA from WPA2
. Removing all the preferred networks from my System Preferences and adding them back in again.
. Removing all the network info in my keychain and reconnecting to the network from scratch
. Switching the router to channel 11 (away from 6)
. Turning Interference Robustness on and off
. Manually specifying IP and DNS in my network settings, rather than DHCP
. Removing all other wireless devices from the network
Looking elsewhere on the net I find that a few other people seem to have this problem, and so far the only solutions I've seen are "roll back to 10.4.9" and "disable security on your home network," both of which are obviously untenable for security reasons.
The one (and only) WPA-secured router I am able to connect to is the Airport at my local Genius Bar, so they're unable to help me.
Has anyone else seen this, or have any ideas?
Thanks.

Well, I downloaded Pacifist and the 10.4.11 Combo Update. Pacifist verified the AppleAirPort and AppleAirPort2 .kexts on my drive as matching the ones in the package, but I forcibly reinstalled them anyway and rebooted. Still no luck -- now the network is back to the four-bars-no-bars death loop without even popping up the error dialog.
Luckily however Pacifist turned out to be the solution to the problem. A Google search on "Apple broke Airport" eventually led me to this thread with detailed instructions on rolling back to the previous version of the Airport driver, before the 2008-01 update: http://www.tuaw.com/2008/03/28/airport-extreme-update-2008-001-for-tiger/#c11509 504
I'll paraphrase it here for anyone else who has this problem:
Download the Airport Extreme client software version 2007-004
from http://tinyurl.com/yw3dnu.
Download and install Pacifist from www.charlessoft.com.
Delete /system/library/extensions/io80211family.kext
In Pacifist, open AirportExtremeUpdate2007004.dmg
and expand the sub folders until you can see the io80211family.kext
extract and direct it to extract the file to the
/system/library/extensions/ folder
restart
So now my Airport works again, though without whatever security they put in with 2008-01, I guess.
I suppose I'll have to embargo future OS updates until this gets straightened out, or else re-rollback the io80211family.kext after each one. I sure would like to talk to whoever wrote this update at Apple!
Thanks for your time, BD.

I tried deleting any keychain refrerence to local computer.
I tried deleting the list of recent servers from the Finder.
I tried restarting both my laptop and the local server.
Nothing,
There is a local server icon under the "Shared" section of the sidebar of the Finder browsing window. I can find no way to delete this listing.
I can access the the Mavericks MBP from the old Leopard server via remote login, but I was unable access the old Leopard server from the new Mavericks running MBP.
I finally achiveved access by
1) Turning on SMB sharing for my account on the local server
System Preferences: Sharing: File Sharing: Options: SMB Sharing: MyAccount then storing my password.
2) On my MBP, connecting via smb.
Finder: Go: Connect to Server: [Enter smb://Localserver.local]
It finally worked, BUT … after successfully connecting to the local server, I now have TWO listings for Localserver in my Finder browser window, the live link and the old link which still says "Connecting."
I can't figure out how to get rid of the earlier afp link, OR how to make it work. I would prefer to use AFP as the SMB notation from both computers indicates that the storage of my password is not as secure.
Restaring the computer doesn't help.
I had a similiar problem when I upgraded to Mountain Lion, and I tried many of the same tricks to no avail. That problem seems to have fixed itself.
Anybody have any bright ideas?
Thanks much.

I should have been more clear. This is on an 8-core Intel XServe.
I was able to use Server Admin locally on the machine for weeks. Now I can't. Nothing has changed or been altered on the machine during that period.
I can not connect to the server via Server Admin remotely or locally. I can connect via SSH, ARD, etc. and the system is still serving NFS just fine, so it's just the process that handles communication with Server Admin that is non responsive.
Something interesting from the syslog:
qt1 servermgrd[44258]: servermgr_accounts: noteDirectorySearchPolicyChanged (reopening nodes)
qt1 servermgrd[44258]: -[AccountsRequestHandler(AccountsOpenDirectoryHelpers) openLocalLDAPNodeIfNeeded]: dsLocalLDAP = (null) , error = Error Domain=com.apple.OpenDirectory Code=2000 UserInfo=0x1066a16c0 "Unable to open Directory node with name /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1."
qt1 DirectoryService[31]: DirectoryService has 42000 internal references open (due to clients), warning limit is 2000.
These lines repeated apprx. every 30 secs until I bounced the servermgrd. Now, I see that entry whenever I try to connect to the local server via Server Admin.
Now, this system is not a LDAP server, but I understand OSXS still uses LDAP for local directory info... I've tried restarting the related directory services as well, but still no joy.
It looks like my only recourse is a reboot, which is really not a great option for a dedicated file server. Am I the only one who has ever encountered this issue of Server Admin eventually losing contact with a server?

Can you confirm?

• Unable to connect destinationPlease help me!

I installed oracle Developer6.0 and Oracle 8i personal edition. I am able to login into oracle 8i.
But when I was trying to connect it from front end(Developer 6.0) I am getting an error as: Unable to connect destination.
Please help me out.
OS: Windows ME.
Intel PC.
RAM 128.
Harddisk: 15 GB
mail me at: [email protected] with your reply.
Thank you

I think you have not specified the port address in the url. The url format should be,
// Port Assumed to be 3306 (default for mysql)
"jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/databaseName"
Hope this helps.

• Unable to connect to a secure wireless network - Event ID: 8002 Task Category: AcmConnection..., Event ID: 11006, Event ID: 11006

Hi,
I have a Dell Latitude E6440 running Win 7
Enterprise 64 on a domain. It will connect to any unsecured network, and it can see the secured network in the list when I click the wireless connection icon on the system tray. When I go to manage wireless networks, the secured network does not show
up (and thus, I cannot delete the network to try to re-add it). Normally, we would add the secure network here. I click Add, give the name in the correct syntax, add the needed information (WPA/2-Enterprise, EAS or TKIP), and hit Next, it immediately returns
with "An unexpected error occurred". A similar thing happens when I hit Connect from the list of available networks that pops up when I open the system tray icon: it says it was unable to connect, when I hit troubleshoot, it says that it could not
identify the problem. The event log shows the error below. I haven't been able to find any resolutions here or elsewhere that address the fact that I can connect to unsecured wireless networks, but not secured wireless networks.
Other notable troubleshooting steps:
Uninstalled/Reinstalled wireless adapter with the latest driver
Other laptops are able to access the same secure wireless network
The first WLAN-AutoConfig error in the event log was Event ID: 12013, attempting a 802.1x authentication. Then Event ID: 11006; stating "Explicit Eap failure received". After a few days of alternating all 3 errors, they started to only error on
Event ID 8002.

• Unable to connect to LAN - Integrated 10/100BASE-T Ethernet LAN (RJ-45 connector)

Unable to connect to LAN, downgraded laptop from Windows 8 to Windows 7 64-bit. Have tried using the HP device identifier, and installing all drivers under Network for the laptop on WIndows 7, though none of them showed as being for Local Area Network.I also tried following this thread: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Wireless-Internet-Home-Networking/Integrated-10-100BASE-T-Ethernet-LAN-RJ-45-connector/td-p/4040756Downloaded the suggested drivers there for the HP Envy 17t-j100I also tested downloading the drivers here for Windows 7: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=7&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false Neither worked, I am still only able to connect via Wi-Fi, but not via LAN with actual cable attached. In case necessary, hardware ID for the Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller:

Hi: You can use all of the W7 x64 drivers and software from the HP 2000t-2a00 on your model except the BIOS and firmware files. Make sure you install the Intel chipset installation utility first and reboot before trying to install the Realtek LAN driver. http://h22207.www2.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-2000-2a00-notebook-pc-series/5259212/model/5275371
