WRT330N Lan ports stopped working!

Randomly stopped working. tried a hard reset, tried flashing...the wireless works, but the 4 lan ports don't.
Help?

Have you tried to connect the Ethernet Cable Directly from the Modem to the Computer and check if your computer is able to go Online? If its still the same problem, then i think it might be the problem with the Ethernet Card of your Computer.
If it works fine, then again you need to Hardwired your computer to the Router and on your Computer you need to change some settings ....
These settings are for Windows XP OS : 
Click on the Start button >>> Control Panel >> Network Connections >> Right click on the ""Local Area Connection"" icon and select properties-Here click on the "Configure" button- Click on the "Advanced" tab- In the "Property" box highlight Link speed and duplex/Connection type/Network or Media type- And in the "Value" box select 10 Mbps half duplex/ 10 base T/10 base half mode and click on OK.. 
These settings are for Vista OS :
Click on the Start button >>> Control Panel >> Network and Sharing center >>Left hand side under task Click on manage wireless network >> Right click on the ""Local Area Connection"" icon and select properties-Here click on the "Configure" button- Click on the "Advanced" tab- In the "Property" box highlight Link speed and duplex/Connection type/Network or Media type- And in the "Value" box select 10 Mbps half duplex/ 10 base T/10 base half mode and click on OK..
Once you are done with these settings, when if it still shows you Cable is Unpluged or its Connected.

  • LAN Adapter stopped working

    My laptop’s local area connection adapter (LAN) suddenly stopped working. The laptop is an HP Pavilion dv6t-6c00 CTO Entertainment Notebook using windows 7 home premium 64-bit operating system. The network LAN adapter is Realtek PcIe GBE Family Controller. By the way, the wireless adapters include (a) Intel (R) centrino (R) wirless-N 1030 (b) Cisco AnyConnect secure mobility (c) Microsoft virtual WiFi miniport. Wireless works just fine, but LAN suddenly stopped working.
    Concerning the LAN here is what I have tried: (1) The Ethernet cable works just fine for my other pc’s LAN and I switched Ethernet cables that also work for my other pc’s LAN. (2) Using cmd function for ipconfig/release and ipconfig/renew, I get the same messages as follows “… media disconnected…” (3) Using device manager I reviewed to make sure all the network adapters were working correctly and enabled. (4) Using device manager I uninstalled and reinstalled the network adapters. (5) I checked for updates for the network adapters and I’m using the most recent updates. (6) The diagnostic message I get when I test the LAN is, “an Ethernet cable is not connected or is broken” (7) I’ve rebooted the HP and router many times. (8) The router is fine, because wireless works on the HP Pavilion and the Ethernet cables work just fine on my other pc.
    By the way, I don’t believe the Ethernet port is fried because there was no burn smell. I think it is the adapter since I get media disconnected message. Any suggestions or recommendations on how to fix the LAN?

    Hello and thank you for posting on the HP support forums.  
    You have covered all the steps that normally are taken when diagnosing a LAN issue.  Except one.
    Did you check the pins in the socket on your notebook?  Are they all straight?  Are any missing?
    If they are all in good shape the next thing is repair.  The size and location of the chips for the LAN adapter generally will not give off a burn smell unless they go through an over heat.  If one tiny relay or cap goes controlling voltage you wont get a smell.

  • MDB and Database - Listener port stops working

    I have created an MDB which does the following when a message is received from the queue.
    1. Store message in database
    2. do some processing
    At step 1, if there is any issue with the database connection (e.g. database is not available etc), I rollback transaction. My idea is to leave the message on queue for now and retry it again after some time unless the database is back again. "Maximum retries" of the listener port is set to N but since there is no retry interval available, all N retries are done in a flash and my listener port stops working. I cannot use backout mechanism as I have to wait for the database to be back again. What are my options?

    a simple JDBC rollback won't do it.

    Everything was working fine for about a week, and then yesterday all of the USB ports stopped working. I have 4 USB ports in total, two 2.0 and two 3.0. Why?  Obviously the device is operational.  Could the USB port have burned out from having too much power drawn?  If so, is it reparable?

    It can't draw "too much" power, it can only draw as much as the USB port is able to provide and no more. IIRC, the keyboard port has a lower power output than the iMac's port.
    That being said, yea, it's possible that the port has failed and it can be replaced or if another port works you can use that one. Although if it is still under warranty or covered by Apple Care, then I would take it to an Apple Store or service provider to get the port repaired.

    I used to use port 8001 for a lot of things. Recently, the port stopped working. I triple checked all my router settings and port 8001 is still forwarded. I tried other ports. I rebooted. I tried shutting off my firewall. Nothing worked. I really need a port working for various things so I need some help. Tell me if you need any additional information and I'll tell you. Does anyone know what I should do??

    Well, I did everything you said and I'm sure I did it right. No luck. I have a feeling that something else is going on here, but I'm not sure what I should do. Anyone have any ideas?

    I have the newest Macbook Pro.  I upgraded to 10.7.2 today and immediately after, 1 of my 2 usb ports stopped working.   Thought it may be the cable, so I switched cables.  Tried plugging in my iPhone, my portable drive and nothing.   Both work on the other port though.   Both ports worked fine before the update. 
    I've rebooted 4x. 
    Suggestions?

    One of my USB ports stopped working today. I think it may be related to Itunes update today. Has anyone else seen this recently? I restarted my computer - but that didn't help. I have a MacBook Pro - running Lion 10.7.5
    Any suggestions? I saw one USB Hub when I went to Apple --> About this Mac, but couldn't tell if both were there.

    My iPod also does not show on the desktop but it is recognized in iTunes,  Check if that is the case for your MBP. 
    Do you have the appropriate boxes checked in Finder Preferences?

    If you have an external HDD, connect it to your MBP and see if it is recognized.  If it does not show on the desktop, check Disk Utility.
    Have you tried all USB ports?  It could be that the problem lies in your MBP.

    Does the notebook recognize a LAN cable if you plug in it? Is the LAN connection enabled in Windows?

    Try a windows system restore, pick a date before the windows updates were installed.

    Hello, I have a mac pro 8 core with an USB internal ports problem, the 2 in front are not working anymore, and from the 3 in the back only the middle one is working.
    I tried to pull all the power out for a whole night, resetting the pram and nvram but nothing helps.
    When for example I put in a keyboard in one of the ports that is not working and when I power up the machine and I press the ALT key I get the choice of startup preferences, once I select one, and the system boots up the ports stops working, so before the OS loads the usb ports are working !!!
    What to do ??

    This is a hardware failure. While USB ports on the whole are just not designed very well, leading to their failures being pretty common, your issue sounds a bit more like the USB controller chip is failing.
    In any case, the answer is to take it to a repair shop. If they're smart about it, they'll replace the logic board and see if that also fixes the front ports. If not, they'll replace the front I/O panel as well.
