WRT400N connection issues with iPod Touch and MacBook

I'm a newbie, so please bear with me.
I recently upgraded to the WRT400N from a Linksys BEFW11S4.
Since the change, the connection to iPod Touches and MacBooks at the house have been shaky at best. The connection frequently drops out completely on the iPod Touch even if it's right next to the router.
I've tried resetting the router, changing settings on the iTouch and MacBooks, but the problem persists. I don't want to mess with the router settings as I'm not experienced in that area.
Can anyone please help me?

You can try the below mentioned settings.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop).In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
On the set-up tab change the MTU Size to 1365 and click Save Settings...
Once you return to the set up page click on the Security tab and uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests and click on Save Settings...
Click on Advanced Wireless Settings
Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304 Change the RTS Threshold to 2307 >>Click on "Save Settings"...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...
This should fix the issue for you.

Issues with iPod Touch and latest update (4.3.3)?

I recently updated my iPod Touch 3G to 4.3.3. Before updating, I had absolutely no issues. Since updating, the iPod will shut off at will, sometimes flickering, sometimes going straight to the "slide to shut down" screen. Sometimes it will shut down in the middle of an app, I'll start it back up, and it will shut down again immediately. Occasionally, when I start it up after crashing, it will make the camera shutter sound! And there's no camera on this iPod!
Possible extenuating circumstance: I upgraded from a Power PC iMac to an Intel iMac at the same time I updated the software on the iPod. I have read the suggestions and the troubleshooting guide, and nothing has helped so far. I wiped the iPod clean and reinstalled and all that did was wipe out my settings (of course). Resyncing the iPod worked (apps and music loaded fine), but still it shuts down without warning. I tried installing a new free app, but that didn't work.
Usually I'm pretty good at figuring out these sorts of issues, but I'm at my wits end. Is anyone else having these problems? Am I screwed?

Okay, so now I have read that you have to install a free app through the phone, not through the computer. I've done so and it looks like everything is good for now. Keeping my fingers crossed. My question now, is that if this is a common occurance with the 4.3.3 update, why did Apple imply that I needed to wipe my iPod clean when this was the much easier and less invasive answer?

Outlook 2010 Syncing With iPod Touch and iPad

I have a PC with Outlook 2003 that sync’s with iPod Touch and iPad. I plan to buy a new PC with Windows 7 and Outlook 2010. Comcast tells me they don’t support Outlook (They support Outlook Express) but Outlook 2003 currently works fine on my PC with Windows XP. I have the following questions:
- . Is there an alternative to Outlook 2010 that will sync with my iPod Touch and iPad?
- Will Outlook Express sync with my iPod Touch and iPad and is Outlook Express still available?
- What is Microsoft Exchange?

Just look at page 26 of the new US) users guide. It specifically says that the iPad syncs with Outlook 2010 (as well as 2003 and 2007). However, Comcast's mail help page only lists OL 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2007.

Having issues with IPod Touch connecting

I have the IPod touch and I just got the WRT110 wireless router, but everytime I try to connect the touch it says unable to join network. Does anyone know how to fix?

Problem with iPod Touch and Nissan Car Interface

I have an '09 Nissan Murano with the built in iPod interface. Previous to upgrading to the 3.0 update, the iPod touch and car got along great and everything worked well with the car being able to control the ipod and play music with only the dock connection (not needing to use the headphone jack). However, since the 3.0 update, the car will no longer see the iPod. The iPod shows the Connected to Accessory screen (as it did in the past) however every few seconds, the iPod will flash a quick screen of the iPods normal music screen, then go back to the Connected to Accessory screen. The car just says iPod Not Connected.
Like I said, it worked perfect before I upgraded to 3.0, and to further that, my brother has his touch still on 2.0 software, and it works fine, leading me to be sure that its a problem with the 3.0 update and not the car. I've seen posts like this with other vehicles, but no one seems to have an answer. Wondering who else is having problems like this and if there is ANY solution (besides rolling back my software).
The fact that an update disables iPod branded interfaces seems ridiculous to me. Thanks for any help!

I recently purchased an infiniti FX35 with the ipod integration. After visiting the local apple store "Genius Bar" and speaking on the phone with an "apple expert"; neither the genius bar or the apple expert heard of such an integration option in new cars being sold. They wanted more information from me about how it work rather than them assisting me with my problem.
Anyway, after alot of experimenting I got my ipod touch 2G running firmware 3.1 to work somewhat consistently.
Turn off wi-fi on the touch, power off then back on, go the ipod menu and select playlist. Attach the touch to the infiniti supplied cable through the dock connector. Select the ipod option from dash board. Playlist, songs, artists, etc will appear on the dash display and begin playing.

WRT54GC Wireless router problem with iPod touch and Ipad

I have a WRT54GC wireless router and both my ipod touch and ipad can connect to the network. They can both use the internet for like one minute and then the internet becomes very slow, and dies. Network connections are lost and I'm getting messages like 'can't connect to itunes' or 'lost connection with youtube'. The wireless router works fine for the laptops in the house (all windows). In the house where I live in the week (closer to my school) there is another router and i don't have the problem over there, also no problem to connect to my schools wireless network... So I think it's a combination problem of apple products and that router. I've tried a lot, like resetting network configuration, updating firmware, changing from wpa to wep1,... Anyone an idea?

Problem with Ipod Touch and new software (2.2.1)

After upgrading to the 2.2.1 I have been unable to listen to it using my car stereo. It will only recognize my ipod sometimes and when it does a majority of the time there will be no sound at all. On my car stereo it shows my playlists and everything but no sound. I never once had a problem with my ipod or stereo until I did this upgrade. I tried switching out the usb cord but that did not help. I then restored my Ipod. I also tried to wipe out the battery completely and then charge (heard on a different message board that that could possibly help). Still having the problem though. I have an Ipod touch and a Pioneer stereo with the USB cable hook up.

I am using new laptop with ipod touch and have downloaded i.tunes. in the past i.tunes showed all the tracks on my old i.pod. I can't seem to find the i.touch library to change or delete music. What am I not doing?

I attempted to back up my old iPod, but in File - Library - back up to disk, it's asking for 15 disks! I can't just back up to the PC/ext HDD that I can see.
That backing up your iTunes library, not your iPod. You can backup up your library by:

First you have to get Itunes to see the iPod. See the following. Notupdating your iPod iOS has nothing to do with it.

Issues With Ipod Touch Memory

Whenever I try to download more applications on my ipod I get the error that says the disk memory is low and that I should delete stuff before adding new applications. So I deleted a few apps, all my video and photos so I only have a few applications on my iPod touch and I still get the same error. I know there should be lots of memory left on my ipod, being that my friend and I have the same songs on our ipod touches and he has many more apps than I have, including the ones that I have on my iPod. I am running OS 4.0. Thank you.

If the low-memory problem is with the memory (RAM) vice the flash storage, resetting or powering off and then back on will solve that problem. However, if the problem is with the flash storage then syncing may reclaim that memory but a reset may be required if the iPod behaves like an iPad. Users have reported that deleting items from the iPad does not always reclaim flash storage and that sometimes restoring is required.

Both Ipod Touch and Macbook Pro Stolen, how do I get the photos in my photostream back at least?

My house was burglarized yesterday and I lost my Macbook Pro and my 3rd gen iPod touch with many photos and videos on it. I did have the photostream turned on but the computer that it was linked to was stolen. I want to get these photos back if possible but since iCloud doesn't seem to act like an actual cloud service I can't seem to find a way to do that.
Can I set it up on another computer and get the last 100 photos I took without the IOS device?

Photo stream still stores you photos from the last 30 days (up to a max of 1,000), so all you need to do is connect to icloud with some device/computer, turn on photo stream and voila.

FaceTime Failed: Calls between iPod Touch and Macbook Pro

when i try to place a call to someone who has FaceTime on an iPod Touch, she says she doesn't receive any calls and i get eventually get a "FaceTime failed" after a few rings. if the other party calls me (i'm using MacBook Pro with OSX Lion 10.7.1) and i answer, at first, it will say "Connecting..." then it will then show a "FaceTime failed". We both powered off our devices to no avail. Any ideas?

IPod Touch and MacBook

I either read somewhere or was told by someone that my iPod Touch would not charge if my MacBook was closed. Well the other night my iPod was almost dead (and so was I waiting for the blooming update) so I just left the iPod connected and shut my MacBook. Note that I didn't shut down, I never do - I just go back to the desktop and close the Laptop (my bad!!!). Anyways I got up the next morning and the iPod was fully charged. No need to respond to this I just thought it was interesting as now with Applications the Touch battery drains like water and I was thinking of getting a charger that plugs in - well no need to now which is great.

Ahhhh I see - well that makes sense as I installed Leopard after I got my Touch - thank goodness for that!!!

Ipod Touch and Macbook Pro Bluetooth problems (ISO4 related)

Before the update I wasn't having any problems, but now when I try to connect with bluetooth I can pair, but it won't connect. It says I don't "have the necessary services" for bluetooth. Any ideas?

I bought a Macbook Pro and ipod touch 3 weeks ago. I am shocked and disappointed to learn that i'm not able to connect these devices via bluetooth. Searching through forums and discussion pages I see that this is by design. I fail to understand why.
On more occasions than I care to comment I have defended Apple products against sceptical attacks that dismiss the company's innovation as pure hype and suggest the proliferation of its 'locked' and 'exclusive' features signal the rise of the 'new dark side'. I have been left with little argument to continue this defence.
I regret that I will seriously reconsider my next purchase of an Apple product.
