WRT54G IP lost after reset router

After reset my WRT54G router, I seem to cant find my IP address.is it because my firewall in my company is set to 192.168.1.1.before this, my WRT54G IP is set to 192.168.1.109.Is there any way to find the IP. I am using a desktop to configure the router,so no wireless connection.
forget to say, the wrt54G is not my PC default gateway, is it connected to the same switch same with my desktop PC.

  • Cannot share folders after resetting router

I'm on an Actiontec MI-424-WR router and have been sharing folders/files on my main pc to three other pc's in the house (let's call them Bedroom, Laptop, and Living Room).  The main pc runs Win7 and the three others run Win7, Vista, and XP.  The shared folders/files include music, videos, and pictures.  I've had no issues until last night when I reset the router.
I reset the router by unplugging for 30 seconds.  After the router came back online, I can no longer see the main pc from any of the other three pc's, nor can I see any other pc's from the main pc. The interesting thing is that when I use the "Test Connectivity" function in the router software, the test passes.  Pinging thru a dos command seems to work, I get 4 packets sent and 4 packets received, but I also get an error message "Reply from 192.168.1.x Destination host unreachable", with 192.168.1.x being the pc that I'm pinging from.  Pinging thru the router software fails.
The only change to my setup was resetting the router last night. The sharing worked fine right before resetting and stopped working right after resetting. So this is obviously an issue with the router.  I suspected some settings I had tweaked a year ago when I first set up the router may have been reset to default, but everything I checked looks like it is still at my manual settings.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be???
    Solved!

If you weren't having any problems, why did you unplug the router? ("Reset" is the wrong term to use here, as it implies use of the reset button.)

  • Connect Software won't connect to router after resetting router on any of my computers

I had to do a reset of the router. I have done it with the button on back and through the web based interface. I have followed all directions on uninstalling connect after restarting the router. I get an error that says it does not know if it is connected to the internet.. Well it isn't. I have tried numerous times and the connect will not install. I would like to get it back the way it was when I originally installed it. The key does remember the admin and password but it only allows me to get to the web based interface.
I have tried everything I know to get the key to work again to no avail.
Could someone please tell me what I am missing when I try to use the connect software after resetting the router?
    Thank you so very much!!!!

So as per the concern you mentioned that Cisco Connect Software won't connect to the Internet after resetting the router... So could you inform us the model number of the Router that you are using it in the Network...
As well as please inform us that who provides you Internet means who is your ISP ( Internet Service Provider ) ? Check if you can go online from the modem connected directly to the computer... If you can browse the Internet then check whether there is any manual IP address given to your computer or not...

  • After resetting router

I couldn't get my IP address to be recognized, so I pressed the reset button on the router.  Now I can't even get a signal on my computer.  What do I need to do after resetting?

It sounds like you did reset your router and now you have to reconfigure the router for your connection.  With a hard wired pc open your browser and in the address bar type in http://192.168.1.1 and hit enter.  This will open a window asking for a user and password.  Leave the user blank and type in admin as the password.  That will get you in to the web-based set up of your router.  Configure the router for you connection then set the SSID to something other then linksys so you can identify your wirless when you connect your wireless pc/devices.  Make sure broadcast SSID is enabled and set up what ever security if needed.  Then connect you wireless pc with the information you enterd in your router.

  • WRT54G ver. 6 Resetting Router

    Hello,
I accidentally unplugged my WRT54G ver 6. router and now all ports and internet port are lit up and the power port is flashing.  I have the instructions how to reset and reconfigure the settings of my router to work with my cable modem.  The problem is that I cannot reset my router.  I pressed the reset button in the back for 30 seconds, and then unplugged the power cord.  All ports remain lit up and the power port still flashes...
I have tried this multiple times and have exhausted all different possibilities (connecting router to computer, modem etc...) but nothing helps.  I even tried to press reset, and while holding it down unplug the power and then replug it, but it didn't work either..
    What should I do?
    Thank you for your replies.
    JL

Yea, you can fix it from a hard wired computer, if it's ok and (assuming you do have one)  just open a windows explorer page and type into the address bar:  http://192.168.1.1  and hit enter. If you have not changed the user name and password, the default user name is: “admin.” and the password is: "password" (without the quotes) You do need to change these immediately if not already done! Then you can repair and or update the firmware.
Did you also try to reboot the modem? Sometimes all that's neeeded is to unplug both modem and router and wait a couple min. Then replug modem first,  then router to get them both communicating with one another.. Good luck, but none of this is that difficult if you follow instructions well, also an abundance of help just from goolgling your problem.

  • Lost password, reset router

I can't locate the admin password for my WRT45G, and would like to add a laptop to the network.  I guess I wrote down the WAP key along with the pw because I can't find it either!  So, I need to reset the unit to factory defaults.  Before I do this is there any data I should write down or have handy that will assist when I begin to set the unit back up?
I'm using the unit on a home network that has two direct wired desktops and one wireless pocketPC.  I have Verizon DSL and want to add a laptop.
Thanks in advance for your help.

The settings that you need to know are the username and the password from Verison DSL ( your ISP). Apart from the ISP settings there's nothing you need to write down.Reset the router for 20 secs. The WPA encryption will also be disabled.

  • Lost username for WRT54GS, resetting router doesn't seem to restore defaults

I lost username for WRT54GS so I tried resetting as per instructions, holding down reset key for 30 seconds, but can't log in using 'admin' and blank password, which I understand is factory default, and which should have been restored on reset--right? I have reset the router at least 3 times, always making sure I push reset key in for 30 seconds. That's the simplest to explain of two related problems.
On a second computer on same network, I have no Internet access at all, and if I try to get to the router it says it can't find 192.168.1.1. Since I can access the Internet on computer #1, and also have a voice over IP device hooked up to router that is also working, I assume this problem is on computer #2 and not the router EXCEPT--how does this relate to the problem stated for computer #1?
Before this particular way of acting, computer #2 was announcing that there was an IP address conflict. It doesn't say that now, it just can't connect to anything. What's odd is that if I display network connections on computer #2, the Linksys connection shows and displays strong signal exactly as it does on computer #1, so obviously computer #2 can 'see' the router, but clicking 'Connect' on the wireless network connections window doesn't work, it simply won't connect. I tried setting up network again but that didn't clear the problem.
I have a great suspicion this has to do, at least in part, with IP addresses but don't know where to go from here.
I appreciate detailed step by step instructions because I am a novice at this. Brave but ignernt.

Actually, its the other way around, blank username and admin for the password.

I lost all apps after reseting and updating to IOS 7.1.1 How do I get them back?
I did a reset of my phone yesterday and now when I go to purchaed to download my paurchsed tabs there is nothing there.
I see them in my ipad but they are not in my itunes app section either.
I searched for one in the app store and it usually said "open" or had the cloud icon with the little arrow to downlaod again (free). But none of that shows up at all this time. All the apps that I'm missing show up in the pp store for me to buy again like I never purchased them at all!
    What's going on?
I'm missing a ton of apps!
    Pleae help me!
    Gaby

I just wanted to add this information to my post:
I have purchaed, free and paid, 618 apps.
In my phone apps to add to my phone when I plug it in my computer only 266 apps show up.
In my itunes "puerchased list" only 266 show up.
Thank God I have not updated my ipad. There I went to my "purchased" under the ALL list in the app store and there I do see my 618 apps!
Where did my other 352 apps go? Which many were paid.
    I want my apps back.
    Thanks,
    Gaby

  • After reset ipad i lost photos i want recover photos

    Lost photo after reset ipad
How can i get back lost photo

If they were on the iPad when you last synced/backed up on your computer's iTunes then you can try restoring the iPad from that backup (backups and restoring). Otherwise I'm not aware of any way to recover them.

If you mean restoring OS X, that won't necessarily have any effect on speed.

  • WRT54G as AP causing dlink router to restart

I am trying to use a WRT54Gv5 as just and access point.  To do this I have it connected to my main router over the lan connection of the WRT54G (to the lan on the dlink of coarse) and have DHCP turned off on the WRT54G, so that the dlink router handles that.  It all seems to be working properly, with wireless devices being correctly assigned ips by the main router and successfully accessing the internet.  However I have two problems.  The first one is whenever the WRT54G is running the dlink router restarts every few minutes.  I have checked and this does not happen when the WRT54G is disconnected or powered down.  For the time being I have it powered down so no wireless network currently.  This is the main problem I would like fixed.  The second problem is that I cannot access wireless devices from the LAN when the wireless is running.

If you are facing inetmitten problem with the linksys router, first thing which you can do is Upgrade the firmware of your router, and this will solve your problem. Go to website linksysbycisco.com/downloads.........insert model no of your router in serach tab......select proper version of your router........download the firmware file......save that file on desktop.Once you downloaded the firmware of your router, Disconnect your D-Link router from Linksys router, and let your computer be connected to Linksys router.
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable.
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...
In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the username blank & in password use admin in lower case...Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on
"Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".Now reset your router :
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

  • Can't install frimware or reset router

    Hi
I have been surfing around in the forums for hours surfing for answers as of yet I can not find one. Here is my problem I have a WRT54G v5 router. The power light is blinking so I figured I needed to install new firmware but the default number for accessing the router is not working. I tried resetting the router several times with no luck. The WLAN light is not lit all other lights are on and the power light is blinking. I tried to include all the information needed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Please always be specific. I have not clue what you mean with "recognize" except that something between the computer and the router does not work. I guess the computer does not get an IP address of the router. Could be you cannot ping. Could be an error message from the tftp program. But I don't know. Please, if something does not work there is always an error message. It is important to post the exact error message. Every error message has a distinct meaning and often reveals a lot about the problem.
O.K. Plug the computer into a LAN port of the router. Set the computer to a static IP address 192.168.1.2 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0 as described in the article. Open a command prompt window and enter
    ping -t 192.168.1.1
If the router is not working the pings should simply time out. Please leave the window open and the pings running in the background. Now press the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Check the lights on the router to be sure that something is happening. After 30 seconds release the button and wait until the router has booted or however far it gets, i.e. the blinking power light. Check the command prompt window. Did any of the pings got a reply?
If not, please unplug the router from power. Wait 1 minute or so. Then plug it back in. Again, check the ping output: any replies?
If you get any replies directly after reset or power up then there is hope.
If you don't get any replies at all even after power up then there is nothing you can do. You have to contact support or replace the router. In that case the router is bricked.
