WRT54G not working with cable internet access - request for help

Good evening!
At least that's the time when I write this.
I have a PC running Vista 64-bit version. 
Until yesterday, I was connected to the internet using my WRT54G and a cable modem. There was a power outage (or blackout) and I lost my internet connection. I was not home when this happened. I got home and found the circuit breaker off. Since then, I can not access the internet anymore when I use the router. 
If I connect the computer to the cable model directly, I can access the internet without a problem (hence I'm able to post this). 
If I connect the computer to port 1 in the router, and connect the cable modem to the internet port in the router, I am not able to connect to the internet. 
I have already:
 - updated the firmware to the latest version (it was already installed)
 - reset the router pressing the "reset" button for 30 seconds, unplugging it, and reconnecting power still pressing the "reset" button for 30 seconds. 
 - power cycled the devices
 - tested 3 differnet patch cables that I know are good and they work
 - reset the modem via a soft-reset remote request sent from the cable operator
None of these options have helped me restore my router's connection to the internet.
I know the router is working because I can print using my wireless printer and I can see my shared drives in the other PC I have connected to it,  but none of them are able to connect to the internet!
Does anyone have any additional ideas on how I can fix this, before I go out and buy a new router?

As you have mentioned in your previous post, that you have resetted your router and you are still able to Print from your Wireless Printer, I Feel that your Router is not getting Resetted properly, whenever you reset your router your router goes to Factory default mode, and it will change the wireless network name to "linksys" and your Network will be unsecured. Press and hold the reset button for 60 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 60 seconds and re-connect the power cable.
Once you reconnect the power to the Linksys router, On your computer Open IE and in the address bar type (http://192.168.1.1) and hit enter, when prompted for username and password, Leave the username blank and in password type "admin" and click Ok. Below the Setup tab you will find MTU, So change it to "Manual" and change the size from 1500 to 1365 and Click on Save Settings. Then Below the Setup Tab you will find the Sub tab "MAC address Clone" click on it and "Enable" and click on "Clone your PC's MAC" and click on Save Settings. Now you can Unplug the Power from Router and Unplug the Power for Modem. Wait for 30 seconds, and 1st connect the Power to your Modem and wait till all the lights goes Stable then you can connect the power to Linksys router and once all the lights are sold. On your computer Open IE and check if you are Online.

    I purchased the Linksys WRT54G a few months ago, set up my home network (laptop with wireless running XP, desktop hard wired to router running 2000, and desktop wireless running XP) everything worked great!
    I got the internet installed.  We ( the installer and I ) got the internet to work on my laptop, and he left, said the rest is up to me!  I did not think it would be to bad, but I am stuck!!
    My laptop no longer connects to the network! - I can ping the WRT54G but can not see any thing else.  I can connect to the internet only if I plug directly into my laptop, if I go into the Linksys it will not work from any computer!  My other two computers still see the network and can talk to one another but not to the laptop.  I can no longer print from the laptop (which I could do before) the printer is off of the 2000 destop, used to work great!
    I have tried some things that I seen here on the forms, "cloned the Mac address" "updated the firmware" and "power cycled" until I am blue in the face, but to no avail!
    Additional info - There is a Linksys 8 port 10/100 Switch placed after the Satellite modem, to connect some other hard wired pc's in the house.
    It goes Satellite modem - Switch - (some computers attached here) - Router - (rest of the PC's attach here).
    I hope you can understand my ramblings!

    Satellite modem: LAN side set to 192.168.1.1 (assumed)
      dhcp enabled: range: 192.168.1.20-200
    Switch: if this is an intelligent switch set it to 192.168.1.2
      dhcp: disabled
    Router: set to 192.168.1.3
      dhcp: disabled
    If the satellite modem using a different base setting (ie. 192.168.222.1) you must adjust all other values(222) to match.

  • SoundBlaster X-Fi drivers corrupt or not working "properly" without Internet access. Please fix!

    The latest drivers located here are corrupt. It is a single exe file that does a CRC check before install begins. During this self check, it fails and stops extracting the files. As such I can not install the drivers. Now, I can probably even tell you why this happens. First I will start by saying that the install only fails on a system with no Internet access. Why so? Because if it has internet access, it updates/checks the digital certificate online. This is not good or acceptable for me as I install the drivers on offline systems and also even on my main Windows 7 setup, I multi-boot and have Windows XP on it too. When I initially install everything the first time, I do not start by first allowing internet access. No sir. That comes last. The first two things after the motherboard chipset drivers are the audio and GPU drivers. Then, a few other important things and then my security suite and then, finally, internet access. That's just normal.
    Since this only happens to the driver file that supports Windows 8 (and all previous versions of Windows) and not the Windows 7 (and all previous versions of Windows) file, it's an issue that should be fixable. You may think it's not worth fixing, but I assume that this will truly be the last driver for the X-Fi card, and as such, can we please end it's life cycle with a driver that works on any O/S that it still supports?
    Notes:
    This issue only happens with the Windows 8 (latest) drivers. This does not happen with the previous (or any before) drivers. So this tells me it's an issue that could be resolved. Please check the digital signature settings on the Windows 8 drivers. Again, all other drivers work just fine on Windows XP with no internet. This issue only exists for the Windows 8 driver executable.
    The driver file is not altered or corrupt. The digital signature only fails if it can not access the Internet, or perhaps a newer Windows that has updated root certificates. (ie: Win7)

    If you are both on the T-mobile network, the sim card should work.  If you did a Erase All Content and Settings, then she should be at the point of activation as a new device...talk to T-mobile and be sure the sim she is using is a valid sim card.

  • AirPlay not working with Wi-Fi access point

    Got home network, everithing worked fine including AirPlay. Decided to switch off radio on main router and place an access point to boost wi-fi signal. Model - Dlink DAP-1350. All works fine, much better coverage, BUT NO AirPlay. At all. Not a songle player is seen from wireless devices. Remove access point, turn back radio on main router - all works again.
    Btw with access point on wired devices see all AirPlay speakers just fine, only wired are not working at all.
    Any ideas where to look for a fix?

    Correct, you will need a BlackBerry Data Plan from your carrier for the BlackBerry functions and features.
    Some third party applications like Opera Mini will work, and as well, your Hotspot browser will work with the WiFi.
    You must have the Data Plan, in order to get the RIM push email functions you are looking for, as well as addtional BlackBerry data services such as the internet browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger, and much more.
    So, call your carrier and inquire about having the BlackBerry Data Plan added to your account.

  • Password Manager not working with any internet browsers

    I have Thinkvantage password manager installed (v. 3.20.0311.00) on my Thinkpad X201. I am running Windows 7 professional, 64 bit. Password Manager works for all programs except IE8 or Mozilla Firefox (eg. works for Outlook, works for iTunes, etc.). When browsing, the program simply never pops up. It worked previously, and I still have many saved website login details, but it never logs in for me any more and new sites do not activate the program.
    I have made sure that the add-on is enabled and I have checked the box next to "enable 3rd party browser extensions" in the advanced tab of internet options. I have also tried resetting internet explorer settings. As mentioned above, this in not only a problem with IE8; it also occurs with Firefox.
    Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Same problem here. I just recieved mine (Win 7 pro 64 bit, X201 Multitouch) last week and password manager not working at all in ANY web browser. It recorded my .net password just fine, but i can't get it to work in IE8. Who pays this kind of money for something that doesnt work?

  • Time Capsule not working with cable modem

    I have a WebStar modem using Cox cable internet. When I plug the ethernet cable into my Macbook directly out of the modem, I have internet. When I plug the Ethernet cable into my Time Capsule - I have no internet and the lights on the modem do not flash. The modem is not recognizing the TC or the TC is not recognizing the modem. Any solutions??? Please help.....

    It's the former.
    Power everything down, including the modem. While it's powered down connect the TC's WAN port to the modem. After a few moments of peaceful contemplation, power up the modem and then the TC.

    Odds are that you can connect to the Internet now.

  • 300N Router/Adapter not working with Satellite internet

    I had previously SRX200 router and it was working fine with Satellite but recently I bought again 300N router and adapter but it's not working. It give the strong signal for few seconds and drops it rightway. Please let me know if there is something I need to do with settings.

    Paul make sure that the firmware of this router is upgraded to the latest version 1.03.0, it resolves a lot of issue.

  • Mini Cooper not working with Lightning 30 pin Adaptor for iPhone5

    I have a 2012 Mini Cooper with a "standard" stereo.  I used to plug my iPhone 4 into the cord provided by Mini and it played my music & podcasts.  Now, with the Lightning to 30 pin Adapter to connect my iPhone5, my music is now only coming out of 1 speaker and the phone information will not appear.  I do not have Mini Connect.  Anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions? Thanks.

    That happened to me too. Check your Y-cable. Make sure the 3.5mm cable is fully connected to the auxilliary jack on your 2012 MINI Cooper. You may also want to slightly twist the cable connections in the middle box part of the Y-cable if the first solution does not work for you. Good luck!

  • Trial will not open and says it may not work with my Mac OS? Please help

    When I try to open Dreamweaver it says "Check with the developer to make sure Adobe Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 works with this version of Mac OS X. You may need to reinstall the application.
    However my computer says it is up to date and I cannot uninstall Dreamweaver to reinstall it. Also I have used Photoshop and Illustrator on my computer and had no issues.
    Has anyone else had this problem and resolved it?

    Krin_wright what version of Mac OS are you using?  Please make sure your computer meets or exceeds the system requirements for Dreamweaver at System requirements | Dreamweaver.

    I cannot get my email forms to work for one of my live sites... They work when I published to business catalyst, now they do not. I have contacted the host and they cannot seem to see the issue, as the other sites they host for me, the forms work just fine... Please help, I am about to punch a hole through my computer...

    Whatever happened, it sounds like you need to reset your phone. As contacts and messages seem to have gone they would be lost anyway unless they were on the SD card and/or backed up using Nokia Suite.
    I'd suggest you reset the phone by dialling *#7370# followed by the security code which is 12345 by default (is asked). The phone will reset and you should be able to use it again afterwards.

    I have an airport express that has been working perfectly.  I changed my internet provider and it suddently won't work -- no dns, no internet--even though other devices (including apple tv) are connecting with no problem.  [the cable modem (motorola) runs through a router to apple tv and the airport express.]  I have reviewed everything here and nothing is helping (powered down, disconnected everything, etc)  I am at a complete loss.  Please HELP. 

    Configuration is simple if you start from a factory default condition.  Connect the main Airport to AC power and to the Internet modem (or modem/router).  Open Airport Express on your Mac or other computer and accept all of the recommendations.  After confirming that it works, insert your desired administrative and WiFi passwords.
