WRT54G reboots every 20 minutes

I recently just switched from astound to comcast and astound worked fine 100% uptime no d/cs or anything...When we switched to comcast the router reboots every 20 minutes. I called comcast and they said everything is fine on their end. I tried power cycling everything and still no luck. When i connect directly to the modem I get no d/cs. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance for any possible help, and sorry for my prolly horrible grammar. =]

hi... connect the computer directly to the modem, go to www.linksys.com/download and download the latest firmware for the router, connect modem >> router >> pc, logon to router's setup page, open I.E. and in the address bar type 192.168.1.1 it would ask for username and password...put "admin" (default password) as a password and try reflashing/upgrading firmware on the router, after reflashing firmware on the router reset it and reconfigure it according to ISP settings and try reducing MTU to 1365 on the router...check whether it makes any difference or not and let me know the results.

IPad2 reboots every few minutes

My iPad2 recently began to reboot every few minutes of use. It has been reformatted, all added apps removed and the battery allowed to completely deplete then recharge, all to no avail. Any suggestions?

Hello this is happening to us also (minus the Bluetooth speaker). We can't figure out what is causing the data usage. I turned off mobile data as soon s I activated the device, and got the message that unless I am connected to WiFi.....(that is exactly what I wanted). We watched Netflix for about three hours, then the alerts started. Like you we have many devices connected and never used over 2GB now all of a sudden we have used it in a matter of hours. My husband called Verizon and got the usual doubting Thomas response. I understand that they don't know my device settings. So over the phone we check all the settings and turned off every possible culprit eating up the data and end the call. By now I have purchased another gig for the month! Assured we are NOT using mobile data, we continue on the IE path to bliss. HA! A few hours later I check the mobile data usage on the Verizon website and that darn thing is still using data. After two more phone calls and two VERY uneventful trips to the local store we were told to take out the sim card. This has stopped the data usage, but it defeats the purpose of having the data plan. I could have just stuck with my Surface. Verizon sent us a new sim card. Its been installed and I have set my homepage to Verizon mobile data usage (just kidding) but I am on that site a lot. I am surprised at the number of complaints about this device. When we called the Verizon support acted as though this was the first time they had heard about this. HT1435 iPod Classic reboots itself every minute, is there a way to restore it?

After populating a new iPod Classic up to 50GB of 160GB space, it reboots itself every minute. No chance for iTunes to recognise so no way to reset/reload the device.
Any other way anyone can suggest? Mainly to delete the contents before replacing/returning to the shop.

Since dowloading Ios7, my ipad cannot connect to 3G and when I have no wireless or 3G connection, it closes down and reboots every 2 minutes or so. This happened in central Manchester and also on the Virgin Train from Man. to London. Totally unusable.

Since downloading IOS 702 I cannot access 3G. Also when I have no access to wireless connection my ipad closes down and reboots every couple of minutes. I was trying to raed a book on a train from Manchester to Euston and had to give up. I found that auto-lock had defaulted to 2 minutes. I changed it to never but it made no difference.

Ipad2 reboots every 1 or 2 minutes

My ipad2 started rebooting every 1-2 minutes. I took it to a service centre where i was told its a small software issue and then i was told its a hardware issue and asked to pay 21000 ( 400$) for a replacement. Ipad2 was just 97 days old ?

After installation of WRT160Nv3 and firmware upgrade router rebooting every 1-20 minutes.
I did reset using hardware button and reboot from Web interface; returned to factory defaults and back to my settings - problem still the same.
Any suggestions?

Well... thanks. I re-loaded the firmware - nothing changed.
Actualy now I suspect that someone in the provider's network installed (or re-configured) an equipment (computer or router) that works in wrong way - for instance gives IP to WAN.
Unfortunately WRT160N writes log in RAM and all records disappear during rebooting - so I can't trace the cause. But when I disconnect the WAN socket in router it works stable. When it connected to provider - it may work for several hours perfectly, but in rush hours it start rebooting

Fresh installation of 2012r2 on PowerEdge r620 rebooting every 10 minutes

Installed 2012r2 Standard Evaluation on a Dell PowerEdge r620 today. In response to a failing 2003 DC. It's rebooting every 10 minutes or so with an lsass error.
A critical system process, C:\Windows\system32\lsass.exe, failed with status code c0000005. The machine must now be restarted.
I'm doubly concerned as in the process I raised the forest level from 2000 to 2003 (We still have 2 2003 DCs, one of them the struggling one) I've promoted it to DC and transferred the FSMO already. I've got the weekend to get it sorted...
It's my first server install and I just did a straight bare metal install without installing Dell drivers. I'm thinking this may be my problem...

After reading so much about the irreversibility of raising the forest level once offline DCs have been added again I was cautious about adding the previously downed DR DC. However the FSMO roles and AD replication were struggling so, after some consideration,
I brought the offending DC back online (AD has not been actively maintained for more than a couple of years...)
Initial signs were good. Replication was happening.
However, my process involved replicating across to the new server data from more than one source (The org had suffered from server spread over the past few years). In the process of consolidating the DFSR namespaces and shares, and removing legacy FSR replication
I hit problems with deleted namespaces and replication groups lingering and not being able to be deleted. I tried to follow various diagnostic and recovery methods. See this post. My main concerns continue there... :-

Not wishing to jinx it but the AD looks fairly stable now. Slight concern is repeated system log entries indicating :-
The DFS Namespaces service has successfully initialized the shared folder that hosts the namespace root. Shared folder: *********
Would be great to get rid of them.

Linksys WRT54GS Ver 5 needs reboot every 10-12 hours after wiring it to LG BD590 Blu-Ray

Had this router hard wired to a desktop - everything has been fine forever. Moved it so I could hard wire it to the Blu-Ray player for watching Netflix, etc. Everything works. Except the Router needs to be rebooted every 10-12 hours. Unplugging it for 30 seconds works. The router seems to be working, but the wireless signal to the other computers in the house, although showing strong, will not connect to the internet, Router is getting its internet straight from the Comcast modem. I have the latest firmware installed in the router. Any ideas greatly appreciated before I throw this thing out.

Try to re-flash the firmware on your router.
Connect the computer with the Ethernet cable to the router.
Download the latest firmware from Linksys website and save it on your computer. Open the setup page of the router. Click on Administration tab and go to Firmware upgrade sub tab. Browse the firmware file that you have already downloaded and upgrade it on your router.
After upgrading the firmware on the router, it is recommended that you should reset the router and reconfigure it. Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait for 30 seconds. Power cycle the router and reconfigure it.
Also try to change some advanced wireless settings on the router. Click on Wireless tab and go to Advanced wireless settings. Change the Beacon interval to 75, RTS threshold to 2307 and fragmentation threshold to 2306. Save the settings.

WRT54G crashes every 5-10 mins when in use

My WRT54G crashes every 5-10mins when in use, I cannot finish a download nor keep a constant connection. Usually it just times out for a second or two and recconects (freezing your downloads or anything), but sometimes it just stops alltogether and requires me to unplug/replug the Router and Modem, sometimes it needs a total PC restart alltogether. I am wired into to it, not wireless, but it happens to the wireless connection as well. What is the deal? I can never manage to finish a download over 35mb, or run an online application. How can this be fixed?

One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for action in Safe Mode...
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it is some 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

Apache Tomcat service failing every minute

Hi there,
We have been running Business Objects Edge with WebIntelligence for several months now without issue. The server runs Windows 2003 and SQL2000, with Tomcat 5.0.27. There are also 2 other seperate Tomcat 4.0 instances running for other applications. The server configuration has not changed since Edge was implemented, no other software has been installed.
The server is scheduled to reboot every weekend, which doesn't normally cause an issue. However, after last weekend, I am unable to access WebIntelligence. The windows system log shows this every minute:
"The Apache Tomcat 5.0.27 service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 514 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 1000 milliseconds: Restart the service."
I can't see anything at all in the windows application log, and I don't think there's anything relevant in the Tomcat logs. Task manager shows the Tomcat5.exe service consuming a large amount of CPU for a minute or so, then being assigned a new PID as the service fails.
I have tried restarting the server again, but with no luck. Please help as it's a critical business system that we've been without for a day already!

When you say that you can't access Webi, do you mean Infoview? or WebI reports? Can you log into infoview? Can you view a report if it doesn't have refresh on open? I'm curious if it fails at a particular point, or if tomcat just didn't start correctly and therefore it keeps trying.
These are just stabs in the dark, but I wonder if this has to do with any of the following:
1. disk space usage. (is tracing turned on? logs will accumulate over time, so it eats up all of your HD and doesn't leave room for swap and cache)
2. a large scheduled report that never ran to completion? (trace the webi job server, or turn it off. to see if you can at least access your webi reports and refresh ad-hoc.)
3. orphaned java process? Tomcat restarting is a strange symptom. May be a stupid question, but have you already tried bouncing your server? Orphaned processes can clog up the port, and cause it to never start up properly.
4. Is another BOBJ deployment conflicting or clustering with yours? Your production server may not have had any changes, but if you duplicated your deployment onto another system in the same network segment, it may try to cluster.
Maybe try turning off all BusinessObjects services such as CMS, WebiReportServer, etc just to see if Tomcat will stay running. Can you access the tomcat homepage and the jsp examples?

SPA112 Reboot every 72 hours (3 days) exactly.

Hi,
I have a Cisco SPA112 which connects to a 3CX server. I also have addional phones, inluding Cisco SPA504G phones.
The issue I have is the SPA112 reboots every 3 days, exactly to the minute. This has happened 3 times now. The 504G is fine (40+ days uptime)
Nothing has changed on the provisioning of the ATA, when I do change things it reboots at 02:00 as expected, so I don't think this is related to reprovisioning.
I can provide more information e.g. logs if required, but thought I'd initially check if there is possibly a setting somewhere that I am unaware of that would cause this reboot every 72 hours exactly.
