WRT54G recent problem

I have the router connected through my modem on my desktop and I've never had any problems getting a wireless connection on my laptop, up until the past week. I'm not sure what has happened, however my laptop is no longer finding my wireless network (it is picking up the neighbors networks still, so I don't think the problem is with my laptop). I even tried setting the laptop next to the router, I thought maybe there was some type of recent interference, but it still isn't working. Like I said, I had no problems until about a week ago.
I updated the firmware on the router tonight hoping that would have something to do with the problem, but still had no luck. I've rebooted my desktop, modem, and router, and I'm still having the same problem. The router appears to be working correctly, all of the same lights are lit as they've always been. Nothing appears to have changed.
Any suggestions on what I should try?

try changing the channel to 11..go to advance wireless settings..set beacon: 50, rts: 2304, fragmentation: 2304 then save the settings..afterwards..go to your laptop wherein you can view your wireless networks..go to change advance settings then go to wireless networks..on wireless networks, go to preferred networks and remove everything..click on add..then type in your ssid which is johnsonhome..uncheck the key is provided then type in your wep key 1 on the network key and confirm network key..click on ok..then restart your laptop..once its back on check if you are online wirelessly..if not..tell me whats the ip address that you are getting by going to command prompt and do ipconfig...

Play Station 3 and WRT54G Recent Problem

My Play Station 3 and WRT54G DID work fine (connecting to internet) and now it doesn't. Can't connect to the Internet with WRT54G now. Tried Chat Line but since Router is out of Warranty, they won't talk to me without $$$$. What do you do to solve this issue. It DID work. Have V3. Downloaded new software v4.21.1 but haven't installed it. Will this be of any help or will it get worse. I did hook up the Play Station 3 via a WIRED Linksys Router and it works fine so Play Station 3 is okay.

Before your Connect your PS3 to your wireless network, you need to check the wireless settings of your Router (SSID, Security key).
On your Computer, Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
Once you login to the setup page of your Router, Click on the Wireless tab and check whats the Wireless Network Name, and then again you need to click on the sub tab "Wireless Security" and check the Security Mode and Security Key....

Only the first page is printed reduced as setup. All pages afterward are full size with information cut off. Recent problem. Can print from Safari just fine. How can I get all pages to be reduced size?

What happens when you try to reply... Do you get an error message, is there no send button, does a symbol appear?

What kind of CD are you burning (Audio or MP3)?
If you're burning an MP3 CD, the songs must already
be in mp3 format.
If not, iTunes will tell you that you have no songs
in the playlist.

I was making an audio cd. But I have since found out what the problem was. The files in my PLAYLIST I converted to aiff, since they were SDll files (I thought they were similar to AIFF, and they PLAY on Itunes...just won't burn.) When I selected the songs in the playlist and converted them...I thought all those files were converted, They were not. The converted files went into my LIBRARY, even tho I selected the ones in the playlist...and once I exchanged the SDll versions of the songs in my playlist. THEN they burned fine...but still...it's confusing..you say convert..it says it's been converted..and what they don't say is it's not been converted inside the playlist...where I had selected the songs...It just ADDED aiff versions..but only in the library...Anyway, that's what happened. But it's strange that it PLAYS SDll but won't burn them....and you'd think, logically..the ones you selected would change...but they don't. Playlists are mainly pointers to the actual files I guess...a sort of Alias..
At least it works now. But it's sad that the latest itunes does more, but also does LESS...as I used to be able to burn SDll files. Now I'll have to convert all my files to AIFF, and mp3's as I assume my ipod video won't play anything but mp3's?

If you can resolve #1 and still get same message for #1 then you have to restore the iPod like the message says.

Recent problems occurring with new iPod Nanos as well?

Are the recent problems associated with the iPod firmware version 1.2 occurring with brand new Nanos, or are they only occurring with Nanos that were running previous versions that have been updated to the new version? I've been considering buying a Nano, but may reconsider if the problems are happening with new ones as well.

I bought a 2GB iPod nano over the weekend. It works great, as long as I don't try to put more than 215 songs on it. iTunes crashes and freezes my iPod every time I try to fill it up more than half way. Every crash requires a hard shut down on my mac and restoration of the iPod.

LINKSYS WRT54G V5 PROBLEM!! =(

Alright so i recently just bought a Macbook two days ago. Ive been using a linksys router wrt54g v5 router at home for about 2 years now. Ever since I added the Macbook to my wireless network i would be on the internet for about 5-10 minutes and then my WHOLE network would lose internet connection including my (2 PCS that are wired to the router) so can someone please help me with this problem? thank you

Aha, that's the problem: the MacBook was clashing with the router because they were both trying to take the same IP address.
Actually your IP addresses need to end in something in the range 1 to 254, as 0 and 255 have special meanings.
Your other choice is to set the router so that it has a fixed address (like x.x.x.1) but also enable DHCP Server mode. That way, all your other machines can use DHCP Client mode, meaning they get an automatic IP address by asking the router.

WRT54GS V7 Problem Shortly After Directv Install

Hello everyone -
I'm new here, and I thank you in advance for any help you may be able to offer.
In the last few days, I've gotten a popup on my desktop screen saying "There is an IP address conflict with another system on the network. I am running Windows XP, and using the Linksys WRT54GS v7 router, with the most recent firmware (7.50.8) installed. This is somehow related to the installation of a Directv network client, added to the router a month and a half ago, because when I unplug the Directv client from the router, the popup goes away and the network works fine. Except for not being able to use the Directv client.
Does this problem (the IP conflict message) sound familiar to anyone, and do you have any suggestions as to how I can remedy this? By the way, I am able to go to the web-based router setup page.

An IP address conflict occurs when two devices on a LAN (local area network) or the Internet have been assigned the same IP address. IP conflicts between two devices normally render either one or both not being able to communicate with the wireless router. Ensure the direct TV is configured with a unique IP address. Releasing and renewing its IP address can work around IP address conflicts. You can also read this article Resolving IP address conflicts.

WRT54GS LELA Problem?

I recently tried to install my new WRT54GS Wireless modem but ran into an odd problem with the Linksys Easylink Advisor. After I ran the CD and installed it there is a screen where you pick the series router you have and simply hit the next button, but when I hit the next button it does nothing, the button clicks but does not move on. I even had a network major buddy come over and try to manually do it and nothing. I also returned my orginial copy hoping it was just a random defect but it happened with my second one to. If anyone could please help me or have any input on this situation it would be greatly appreciated.

You can access the router with Internet explorer and do every thing easy link will do. Just enter http://192.16.1.1 in the URL and leave login name blank and use admin for password.
The link kept locking up on start up and the down load speeds were slower than the other machines on the router. I uninstalled it and it more than doubled my download speed.
The PC is a new Dell Inspiron 530 running XP on a wired network port.

WRT54G weird problem

Hi.
I have Linksys WRT54G (v2.2, linux version).
Everything works perfectly, internet connection, wired and wireless connections, dhcp, simply everything.
Well, to be honest, not everything, I've got one problem:
I have connected 2 computers by wire (to LAN ports) and 1 by wifi.
When I am copying huge amounts of data between wired and wireless computer than nobody can connect to internet. They can see each other on local network, copy data between themselves, but are not able to connect to internet. After I stop that copying everybody is immediately able to connect to internet.
I have the most recent firmware, I have also tryied HyperWRT firmwares, but the problem still shows up.
What is the problem?

I've set MTU from "Auto" to "1365". QoS is Enabled. Absolutely no change. I am not using P2P. During testing I kept internet connection free (without any load, zero traffic). I repeat: my internet connection is unavailable only when I am copying data between local computers (one wired one wireless). I don't believe that QoS has anything with this. It seems to me that router (or its processor) is overloaded and cannot handle internet connections.
