WRT54G v6 power LED endless blink

I just bought a used WRT54G v6, and when I power it on, the power LED blinks green, WLAN and DMZ are off, and the rest are solid green. Plugging right into it shows in XP as unplugged, no different than if the ethernet cord was just floating. I've tried the technical support route which suggested putting a static IP and then using TFTP, but TFTP just instantly throws the message that it can't connect to the server. Sounds broken and dead to me, from causes unknown. Is there anything I should do before starting the RMA process?

Try this link and check if it make any difference..If not then,it's a time to change the router.

  • Qosmio X500 won't start and the power LED is blinks every 5 seconds

    Hi,
I need help my X500 won't start now. I tried to start the NB as usual and suddenly the X500 wont boot or even power up.
If I press power button it doesnt make any sound, the power LED on button and the second power LED just bliks once and turns of, and keep blinking every 5 seconds.
    I tried to:
    * remove battery and power up with AC only
    * power with battery only
    * remove battery hold power button for 30 seconds and more athen power with AC only, battery only
    but it didn't helped.
I checked the AC & Battery LEDs, but they are not flashing, they are just RED, so there is not proble in battery or AC.
Any idea where could be the problem?
    Thanks for help

  • Satellite Pro A120-151 - Won't turn on and power LED is blinking

My A120-151 shut down when I was using it. The power LED on the laptop is blinking: short-long-long-short-short-short-long-short
Does anyone know what this error code is?

There's a whole range of error codes associated with the power lights (including both orange and green flashes) They would need to be decoded by a Technician and given that it's under warranty I'd suggest it goes straight back..
The only exception to this is if you have recently changed the RAM? If so, if it is not properly seated then it can not be recognised and the laptop will fails to start.
If you have done this, try removing and *securely* reinstalling the RAM (make sure you take the battery and power lead out first!)

  • P965 Platinum - Power LED Doesnt blink on Standby?

Hi -- I have a P965 Platinum board, running Vista Ultimate.  I am running 1.5B3 of the BIOS, and when I put the system in standby, the power light doesn't blink or otherwise indicate that the system is in standby.
Can anyone else verify whether or not that is working or not?
    Thanks.
    Rick

The reply from MSI Tech SUpport was as follows, which I didnt buy because I had an Asus P4T-E in the same case and that blinked the LED for standby --- and I sincerely doubt the header is no good since the LED lights fine when powered up:
MSI Tech.   05/12/2007   Then it is either problem with the LED on the chassis or on the header.

No, i do not have one readily available as of yet.  I am looking for things i can troubleshoot before i spend limited funds on a new ps.  I am aware this may not be possible and i may have no choice but to get another one.  I would hate to buy a ps and find out its the mainboard.
You have to swap either PSU or mainboard to findout. You can borrow a PSU from friends to test.

  • WRT54GS wireless drop and Blinking Power-LED (V6, 1.52.5)

Hi all, Trawling several pages with people mentioning dropping wireless connectivity, I didn't notice a symptom I've noticed on mine: since the troubles started I've got the router located very close by (as in less than 3 feet/ 1 meter). One thing I happened to notice that every once in a while the Cicso loge and Power LED start blinking: connectivity is completely gone, also wired. After some time (30 sec?) the lights come on again and connectivity is restored. I haven't noticed any correlation (yet) to wireless connectivity, but it's quite irritating. Anybody any ideas?

well sounds like you have a defective device.....
tried reflashing firmware, if still not working, try calling Linksys and get an RMA #

  • WRT54GP2 not working - Power LED blinking fast.

My WRT54gp2 has been working without issues for 2 years. All of a sudden from yesterday, the power LED is blinking fast. I am not able to connect to the web interface. My computer says limited or no connectivity. The internet and WAN LED are steadily lit. Has anyone faced this issue ? Is my router brick now ?

As the power light on the router is blinking..It means that the firmware of router is corrupted..Check this link to unbrick the router.

  • E2500 Power LED Blinking

I'm using an E2500 and the Power LED started blinking this week.
From the manual, this means   “Flashes slowly during bootup, during firmware upgrades, and druing a Wi-Fi-Protected Setup Connection.” We have a wireless printer (wireless disabled), and a Kindle that does use wireless. All other computers are hard wired.  I have not started a Wi-Fi protected setup. The router has been in use since the third week in October, and is more or less OK even though the Power LED is flashing.
Why is is flashing?  How do I get the Power LED to stop flashing?
    Thank you.

Yes, internet connection via the router seems to be OK (both hardwired and wireless).   There may be some degradation, but I'm using a satellite provider so it may not be the router.   However, intermittant connections have occurred within the past few days and that's the same time frame at which I noticed the light blinking.  There may or may not be a correlation.
We power down all our equipment when we go to sleep (modem, router, computers etc) and power them up each morning.
The firmware version  on the web site is the same as in my unit.
I do notice that when I log into the router page the light stops blinking.   When I exit the page it starts blinking shortly thereafter.

  • Equium L40 10X Blinking green power LED

    Hi Guys,
I have an old Equium L40 that I haven't used it in a while.
Now when I plug the power adapter in the power led just blinks green constantly.
I've checked the blink codes but I can't find one for mine. It simply turns green for a second and then off.
Then green for a second then off and does this constantly.
I've tried removing the battery for a few minutes and then holding the power button down for a minute, but I just get the same result. The power adapter is a the one that came with the laptop and as far as I can tell works fine.
Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks guys!

    Hi
Power Indikator (DC IN) indicates the power status with the AC adaptor connected.
The green (not blinking) means power is being supplied and the computer is turned on.
The power indicator on the front of the computer will glow green when the computer is switched on.
The blinking amber indicates power is being supplied to the computer while the notebook is in sleep mode.
Unfortunately, the DC IN green blinking status looks like a hardware problem.
Probably the power supplied to notebook is abnormal or there are some problems with power supply electronic on the motherboard.
By the way: please check the RAM modules. Remove one and test the unit using only one module in each slot. Check both modules.
Some years ago, a friend of mine has had some problems with the notebook. The blinking LED indicated the RAM issue

  • Slow Blinking Power LED

My system is pretty stable, it can run memtest and prime95 for days without a problem.  but very randomly it will sometimes just completely power off but the power LED will blink very slowly.   sometimes it will go months without this happening, and sometimes it will happen several times in one day.  I've noticed that sometimes it happens when i bump into the system.
at first i thought something was shorting it out, like when it moved.  but i carefully reinstalled the mobo and checked everything, and i can't find any problems.  I can't reproduce the problem at all, so i can't seem to solve it.  Any ideas appreciated.

In that you've had the board out and back in, you've checked all the obvious items like loose ide and power cables, memory is firmly seated into the slots, your case back doesn't prevent the video card from being fully seated?  Those kinds of things?

  • E3000 blinking power LED

    Hello,
Today my e3000 router just stopped working, its power LED is blinking and I cant access its setup page.
Is this fixable or is it dead?

Hi agjurich. You can try doing another reset. This time, please press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds. Release the button and unplug the router.  Plug it back in and check the lights.
Another method to try would be to assign a static IP to the computer. You may assign the following:
    IP address : 192.168.1.20
    Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway : 192.168.1.1
    DNS  : 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2
Once set on the computer, hardwire the same computer to the router and ping the IP address of the router.
You may check this link on how to do the ping test,
    http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?vw=1&docid=1c771bda3da742b687356adb9a5c9c1a_Pinging_the_Links...
If the router responds,  by giving you 4 replies, then you may still be able to make it work. If it doesn't, then it's really time to buy  a new one.

  • Router WRT54G Power led flashing!

    hi,
Somebody can help with this issue, I have a WRT54G router v.3.1 the power led is flashing and I can not access to configure the router, I tried everything, I tried using a static IP on my lan card and I can not access to doing a ping, I tried press and hold the reset buttons for 1 minute and power down for a 30 sec and nothing happended, the led still flashing. When a connect the straight UTP cable on my computer the connection icon appears blinking but I can not access to configure the router for any way.
    someone have a new suggestion?
this is a critical case to me and I appreciate all the help that you give me.
    Thanks for advance,

you will need to upgrade the firmware...
now since you are able to ping the router using a static ip....first download the latest firmware from the website (make sure that u get the .exe file) . then run the file normally....it should upgrade the firmware.

  • Power LED off, all others on - WRT54G

    Hello everyone.
My WRT54G was in the middle of working correctly when it dropped all connections.  The power LED is now off and all of the link lights are permanently illuminated, even with nothing plugged into those ports.  The ethernet LED is also continuously lit.  Windows reports "limited or no connectivity" on computers attached to the router in its current state.
I've tried power-cycling several times and I've tried to use the reset button, albeit for only 5-10 seconds after power-up.  The results are the same - no power LED and everything else lit up.
Is there anything I can try to resurrect my router?  There seems to be a lot of information on blinking power LEDs, but not much on one that's off with the rest of the LEDs fully illuminated.
Thanks for the help, and if there's a previous article I can use for reference I would gladly take that as well
    Thanks,
    Zeke

    1. Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds.
    2. Then, unplug the power keep holding down the reset button for
    another 30 Seconds.
    3. Plug back the power back in, and keep holding down the reset button
    for 30 Seconds.
    4. Release the reset button.
If still the same light status .........then i think router is gone bad ....
