WRT54G v8 goes to "Local Connection"

A couple of times every day, my WRT54G Router drops my connection, and my Windows Vista computer (connected wirelessly) says that I'm connected locally, but not to the Internet. The connection also drops on my Ipod touch, but not on the Windows XP computer that is wired to the router and modem. I have already upgraded to the lastest firware and reset my router, can someone please help?

On your Router setup page click on the Wireless tab and below change the Wireless Channel to 11-2.462GHz and click on Save Settings, Then you need to click on the Sub tab 'Advance Wireless Settings" and below Change the Beacon Interval to 75,Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304,Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 and Click on Save Settings...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...

  • Two WRT54G, two networks, same Internet Connection

    If anyone can take the time to educate me in how to effectivly stack routers to share one internet connection but set up two different networks I would really appriciate it.
    I want to set up an open wireless network for customers but have my POS and Cameras on a seperate network that people using the wireless cannot access.  I have two routers, and have tried using different subnets but cannot get it to work.
    Is there any step by step instructions on linksys's site?  I cannot find them.
    Any help is greatly appriciated.
    Thanks

    Thanks for taking the time to reply.
    I have one WRT54G v5 and one BEFSR41(sorry don't know the version).
    Right now I have the BEFSR41 acting as the router and the WRT54G acting as a wireless access point.  I have a hardwire connection going from port 1 on the BEFSR41 to port 1 on the WRT54G and have DHCP disabled in the WRT54G.  Right now anyone connected wirelessly to the WRT54G has full access to my network.
    What I want to do...

    I want my Wired network to be on a different IP range and Subnet than my Wireless so that customers cannot get onto my wired network.  (I think its called segmenting a network or something like that.)
    Is this possible with linksys's stuff or do I need to step it up a notch and get something like a nomadix?
    Thanks again for the reply.

  • Local Connection Problem

    Hello guys, I'm having a problem with my swf files
    communicating with each other.
    I am using Local Connection to coax them. The problem I'm
    having is that I have a main.swf which uses a MovieClipLoader to
    load swf files within itself. The main.swf actually acts as kind of
    a “holder” with a menubar above it.
    I want the user to be able to make any clicks on the menubar
    effect whatever happens in the current swf that is loaded. Thus, I
    had used Local Connection on one of the buttons in the main.swf:
    on (release) {
    section = "home";
    talkingLC = new LocalConnection();
    talkingLC.send("simple_lc", "comeBack", section);
    And at the top of the about.swf (which is being held) right
    now, I have this:
    listeningLC = new LocalConnection();
    listeningLC.comeBack = function(section) {
    if (section == "home") {
    trace("testing");
    this._parent._parent.dcMovie.gotoAndPlay(71);
    this._parent._parent.catMovie.gotoAndPlay(282);
    this._parent._parent.coolerMovie.gotoAndPlay(52);
    this._parent._parent.csMovie.gotoAndPlay(52);
    this._parent._parent.copter.gotoAndPlay(156);
    listeningLC.connect("simple_lc");
    stop();
    So far the tracing test shows nothing and of course, nothing
    is playing in this file.
    I'm not exactly sure what's going on, but would appreciate it
    if anyone can offer some help with this.

    I don't think that's what LocalConnection is intended for.
    Why can't you use something along these lines?
    on (release) {
    trace("testing");
    _root.dcMovie.gotoAndPlay(71);
    _root.catMovie.gotoAndPlay(282);
    _root.coolerMovie.gotoAndPlay(52);
    _root.csMovie.gotoAndPlay(52);
    _root.copter.gotoAndPlay(156);

  • My ideapad N580 keeps going to limited connectivity

    My ideapad N580 keeps going to limited connectivity. Says I have a Braodcom adapter. PLease help. Thank you
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    The error message can be caused by several things. This error message is displayed when you are already connected to the Internet. If that is the case, you can safely ignore the error message.
    To disable the error message, follow these steps.
    1. Open network connections from control panel.
    2. Double-click Local Area Connection, and then click Properties.
    3. In the General tab, click to clear the Notify me when this connection has limited or no connectivity check box.
    4. Click OK, and then click Close.
    Also, run the networking troubleshooter and check the result
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/Windows7/Open-Networking-troubleshooters
    You may also check the status of the wireless network card driver/adapter and try updating the driver if needed.
    Follow the steps to check for the Network Adapter in the device manager:
    1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
    2. Click System and Maintenance, click System, and then click Device Manager.
    Note: If Control Panel is in Classic View, double-click System, and then click Device Manager.
    If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
    3. In Network Adapter, expand Network Adapter, right-click the devices listed. Here you will get the device listed.
    Check if you have any exclamation or cross marks alongside the devices listed. If you do have then there is issue with the adapter installed.
    Refer to the below mentioned link to update the drivers manually from the manufacturer website -

  • EPM Error while creating a local connection

    Hello everyone,
    I am a Dashboards designer and am new to BPC 10 MS. I am working on a dashboard that connects to BPC 10 MS to retrieve data via the EPM Connector. For this a 'Local' connection type must be used when creating the report in the Excel sheet using the EPM Add-In. I tried to create one but am facing a curious error which does not seem to be a known issue. I have installed the ODBO Client and therefore can create a local connection of type 'SAP BusinessObjects Planning and Consolidation'. Once I select this provider I entered my application server name and chose Windows Authentication for BPC MS as I have the service account credentials. I encountered an EPM - General error with the following text: Error while communicating with the server. Details: Framework message: Authorization failed. This error shows even if I'm using Excel and not Dashboards. If I use a different connector, I am able to access all the BPC data just fine. However, with local type (which is needed for the dashboard connector) it just doesn't work. I tried reinstalling the EPM Add-In as well as the EPM Connector without any change to the error.
    I am using Win7 32-bit, Excel 2010 32-bit, ODBO Client SP12, EPM Excel Client SP16 Patch 1, BPC 10 MS server SP08, Dashboards 4.1 SP1.
    Has anyone come across this before? Any help would be great as I'm very much stuck at this point.

    [java] com.bea.wli.sb.transports.TransportException: Failed to lookup connection factory jms.RibAqJmsXATopicConnectionFactory
    Looks like the JNDI that you created for the ConnectionFactory is not reflected in the server.
    Login to WLS Console> Summary of Servers > server_name > View JNDI Tree
    Browse to the JNDI tree and see if your JNDI is visible there. If it is not then, please restart the server and recheck.
    Once you are able to find it in the JNDI tree, then execute the customization file.
    If you have modified the existing JNDI properties (that have a small exclamatory symbol) then any changes to those are not reflected till all the servers in the cluster are restarted.
    If it still does not work, then recreate a new Connection with a different name and then retry. It should work then.
    Thanks,
    Patrick

  • Change local connection string on remote server

    Hello,
     I have searched every post and tried every connection string there but can't figure out how to connect to my database on my  remote server. I am using Visual Developer 2005 Express Edition in C# and uploading it to a Windows server running asp.net 2.0. The domain has not resolved yet.
    I am so new to this and have followed many tutorials step by step but none of them address this issue. They just show how to upload it to the server.
    Do I need to use the SQL server provided by my host or can the database stay in the App_Data folder?
    My local connection string works locally:
      <add name="ConnectionString" connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLEXPRESS;AttachDbFilename=|DataDirectory|\add_newSQL.mdf;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True"
       providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
    When I uploaded to my server I changed \SQLEXPRESS  to (local) as advised in the forum.
    <add name="ConnectionString" connectionString="Data Source=(local);AttachDbFilename=|DataDirectory|\add_newSQL.mdf;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True"
    providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
    When I debug a page I get the <customErrors mode="Off"/>
    error message even thought I have already set it in my remote web.config file which may be causing problems itself:
    <configuration>
    <appSettings/>
    <connectionStrings>
    <add name="ConnectionString" connectionString="Data Source=(local);AttachDbFilename=|DataDirectory|\add_newSQL.mdf;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True"
    providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />
    </connectionStrings>
    <system.web>
    <customErrors mode="Off" />
    <compilation debug="false" />
    <authentication mode="Windows" />
    </system.web>
    </configuration>
    Thanks for any help you can offer. I wish I could find someone to hire to do this part for me or teach me how over the phone. Any suggestions?

    Is this still an issue?

  • Lose WiFi connection keep local connection

    Several times now I have lost internet connection but am able to keep the local connection part. Yellow triangle states on WiFi signal icon that I have lost internet portion of connection. I run Network troubleshooter and it says its resetting the Wireless device but my internet connection does not return. Its only after I turn off the WiFi and back on that my connection to the internet is avaialable.  I have run HP support and have all the driver updates and Windows updates.
    So far none of my other devices experience this issue. I know this notebook has a Realtek WiFi card which I know is not the greatest for reliability. Realtek and me go back many notebooks with connection issues. Its like they work only when they feel like it.  Guess this Stream probably has a WiFi card soldered to the motherboard. So I guess replacing it is out of the question. Hope someone has some other ideals or maybe Windows 8.1 is to blame?
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    After doing more digging I found several other people user this same WiFi card having similar issues. One person even went so far as to say its a on chip firmware issue and others claim a Windows 8.1 issues which they are working to resolve.
    In any case I go days without issue and use my Stream 11 a lot for business. So I guess the issue is not affecting me too bad.

  • My WRT54G v5 router loses internet connection frequently

    My WRT54G v5 router loses internet connection frequently. Sometimes occurs when you enter a web or sometimes every few minutes, but without a pattern. I have W XP Pro with SP3 and I have a pc wired to the router and sometimes 2 notebook with Wi-Fi. What could be the problem?. Thank you very much.

    I have upgraded the firmware to v 1.02.8 and reduced the MTU to 1350 but after a few minutes of doing that I had the same problem... The router reboots itself, again and again and again...
    It's possible to run some diagnostic utility that somebody can check ??
    It's possible it would be a router failure ??
    I note that sometimes is ok and when Entering some web pages the router reboots itself and I loose my internet connection, but others, the router reboots for no apparent reason...
    I dont know what to do...

    iphone only shows logo for 13 seconds when connected to pc thats all it does however i connected to wall socket, it goes up to connect to itunes but when i unplug it then it switches off.
    this is coincidently after an ios update for iphone which i did just approx two days earlier which was suppused to fix battery issues?
    also battery shows 100 percent full but as i explained if disconected from socket it switches off altogether.

    Hopefully and most likely faulty battery. If you have Warranty or AppleCare, make Genius reservation and take to Apple for resolution.

  • How do I call a function using local connection?

    I have 3 Flash banners on 1 page that run through a synched animation together. At the end of the animation, there is a replay button in each of the 3 banners. I want the replay button when clicked in any of the banners to call a replay function in all 3 banners. Is there any easy way to do this? Using localconnection?
    The banners are already using a local connection for the syching of the animation, if that helps.
    Thanks!
    Elliott

    I take it back... I figured it out. I just needed to paste the function below into each of the other banners...
    Thanks! :-P

  • SAP BPC NW version with SAP Dashboard Design (No Local Connection)

    Dear ALL,
    I'm working on SAP BPC NW version 10.0 and I'm trying to build some dashboards on it using SAP Dashboard Design.
    So, I follow some links online and I failed to proceed at the very beginning stage:
    To create a "Local" connection in Excel EPM Add-in.
    From the drop down box for the available connection types, I can just see Planning and Consolidation versions for both MS and NW, but nothing called "Local" as referred in those web.
    Any ideas?
    BR,
    Antony

    Hi Antony,
    Go through the SAP Note 1730125.
    Check the attached doc "SAP Business Planning and Consolidation 10.0, version for SAP NetWeaver" in the note
    for more details.

  • Cannot get Local Connection, No available resource, Wait-time expired

    Hi Friends,
    Please answer my queries below.
    Thanks and Regards
    Busincess Requirement
    I have to display a particular set of rows in a dashboard or screen, and it is being refreshed every 1 minute, also user can update from that screen displayed values.
    The below program extracts some data from database and passes to the front end through a collection where it is being displayed.
    Code Logic Flow
    1. CockpitAction calls CockpitOraDAO for database results
    2. CockpitOraDAO is a singleton class.
    3. After getting the CockpitOraDAO object, the action will then call the getLabAreaCockpitDetails() method.
    getLabAreaCockpitDetails will
         - Get the Connetion from the OracleConnectionManager class (It is a plain class with getPooledConnection() and releaseConnection() methods).
         - Execute the query and put the result to a collection
         - close the connection
         - return result to the calling action.
    This getLabAreaCockpitDetails() are called around once in every 1 minute
    So, I believe everytime a call is made to action for cockpit display, it will take the existing object of the CockpitOraDAO class and make a call to database. i.e there will be only one object of CockpitOraDAO reside in application server at any particular interval of time.
    My Understandings
    1. Only 1 object of CockpitOraDAO will reside in application server (provided it is not user longer and garbage collected) at a particular instance.
    2. Many objects of Connection will be created and destroyed.(Each time the getLabAreaCockpitDetails() method is called, we will get one connection from connection pool and in finally the Connection will be released to connection pool).
    My Problems
    It is showing the "Cannot get Local Connection, No available resource, Wait-time expired"
    after running around 1 full day.
    My doubts
    1. Can anybody say why I get this error ?
    2. There may be some connections are not closed. But I have checked at finally block, the status of the connection is closed after calling this method.
    3. There may be some problem due to the singleton instane of CockpitOraDAO, Is it affecting performance ?
    4. Is it valid that I have to make CockpitOraDAO as Singleton ?
    public class CockpitOraDAO extends DAOAdaptor //implements BISample
         private static CockpitOraDAO instance=null;
         private static boolean debug = true;
         * The below method will be used to provide the singleton intance of the CockpitOraDAO object.
         public static CockpitOraDAO getInstance()

    Hi,
    As you can see from other posts, this is a very common problem. Until now the cause always ends up pointing to a connection not being close.
    I suggest you try to run through a full single cycle of you app, while using the CLI monitoting to check that the connections created/closed matches the expected created/closed connections. Also that the number of free connections at the end is correct.
