WRT54G version 6 - router setup screen via Internet Explorer 7 doesn't display correctly

Hi,
I've just set up my WRT54G router.  I'm able to connect to the internet and I'm able to connect directly to the router via IE but the setup screen doesn't display correctly.  I've tried resetting the computer and updating the firmware but it still doesn't display correctly.  Almost all of the text is missing except for the Linksys logo and a few drop down menus.  Any help/suggestions would be great, thanks.

Hi gang,
There a number of things that you can do to solve this problem but most of them involve changing the rules that you have already configured in your ZoneAlarm profile. My preferred solution is to:
-unplug your router from the WAN (why not?)
-turn off zone alarm
-access your router's administration page at http://192.168.1.1
-find the admin page where you can switch admin access from http to https
--- **save your changes !!**
-reboot your router
-plug the WAN cable back into your router
-turn ZoneAlarm back on
-access your admin page at https://192.168.1.1 ( note the 's')
Bob is your sister's brother! Your admin page should work as it is supposed to. Your router and ZoneAlarm should be playing nicely together. You haven't borked your finely tuned zonealarm rules. You were going to bookmark your admin page anyway, and if you want to allow remote administration, you would want to use https anyway. Nothing is broken and you fixed two things. "Its a good thing."Message Edited by ubuibi on 12-27-200609:10 AM

  • Internet explorer doesn't display sites correctly unless they are trusted

This is an odd problem. On the reference image prior to it being sysprep'd and captured, going to certain sites (e.g. lifehacker.com) the menus, all pictures and advertisements display just fine. But once capture and deploy that image those sites stop working
the way they should. I made sure the unattend file was making zero changes to IE and I even disabled the IE configuration app that I made with IEAK to ensure that IE was being setup as is out of the box, but something is changing the way it operates and it
fails to work the way it did before it get deployed to a client. I don't have any extra add-ons and no tracking protection lists.
The big problem is it causes compatibility issues with lots of sites, such as menus not appearing when you hover like they should. I even tried building a clean machine from the Microsoft media directly and creating IEAK packages from that, a totally clean
    machine. That didn't work either.
Anyone else have weird problems like this before?

Windows 8.1 IE 11. Yesterday I built a new image with all the latest updates released yesterday.
My "Base Package" of apps is:
    Visual Studio Tools 2010
    Chrome
    Firefox
    Adobe Reader
    Flash Player
    Java RE
    7-ZIP
    BOX
    VLC Player
The reference image itself contains Office 2013. This issue only affects Internet Explorer in normal view, if you use Private Mode the same site that didn't work, works just fine. I've tried experimenting with not enabling any add-ons and using "Reset"
    in IE, but nothing works.
I am using copy profile, but I can assure you the administrator profile works just fine with all sites in the reference image before it's sysprepped and captured. But then again IE works fine until after the first reboot when deployed to a client.

  • Is it possible to have a VI "run when opened" when accessed via Internet Explorer?

I am trying to get a remote panel application to "run when opened" when is accessed via Internet explorer. I have multiple remote panel licenses on the server and the VI is Re-entrant. The application works well except for this issue. Having the VI "Run When Opened" via IE is very important to the user. As is, when IE opens, the user must click on the panel image once to get the VI's attention and then again on the start arrow to run the program. Is there any way around this or a way to simplify the process?
    Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

This is actually the intended operation of remote front panels, however, we can simplify the operation to meet closer with what your customer wants.  Basically, if you were to always have your program run in somewhat of an idle state, you can use the Application Control>>Property node for 'RemotePanel.ConnToClients' property to determine when a user is connected and run the proccess of the program as soon as a connection is detected.  When no connection is detected you could have the program run in an idle state.  The attached screenshot shows a general way to do this.  Have a good evening!

  • A page on a website which opens fine in Internet Explorer does not display accurately in Firfox...how can I fix this?

I usually only use Firefox and don't compare screens between Internet Explorer and Firefox. However I was working on a website I am developing with a friend in Seattle and she sent me a trial and the pages don't fit on the screen right, for instance there is a return mail form that runs out of its box and leaves off the bottom of the page. She was having no trouble opening it on her computer (even in Firefox). It opens easily and correctly on my wife's computer in Internet Explorer, as it does on my computer. It is only in Firefox on my computer that it opens wrong. Also, and perhaps it is not related, opening videos in Firefox on my computer takes a long time when they open isntantly on my wife's computer in IE. I have more ready memory, more RAM and more graphics software on my computer than she does. Why should this be happening only in Firefox? I was so happy not using Internet Explorer any longer.
I have attached a link to a page that I am having trouble with. It is not the only one. My screen does not show me the bottom of the response form where I can submit the form. It only shows half of the image verification code and no place to submit. I bet when you open it up you will see the whole screen.

I am also having problems with a site I am building. No matter what websafe font I use it displays as New Times Roman in FireFox. The correct fonts show in both IE9 and Chrome.
In addition, text shifts in FireFox. I have to position other text objects farther and farther apart as I go down the page or they start to overlap. Nav buttons and other images also have to be positioned in the wrong place for them to be in the correct place when the page is opened in FireFox. FireFox should display pages correctly by default. I can't expect th average user to have to tweek his/her settings to display my site.
I have been recommending FireFox on my website as the best browser. I might have to change that and abandon FireFox myself.

  • Windows 7 Internet Explorer doesn't open (no error shown)

With the latest set of updates, around 4-5 days ago, a new problem developed which I haven't seen discussed anywhere.  Internet explorer doesn't load up when I click on it's icon.  The hard disk clunks but no explorer window appears.  No error is displayed.  Very odd.  Very occasionally it does load up, perhaps once a day, but then stops loading again after a few minutes.  Anybody got an idea what's happening?
    Dan
    Windows7 64 bit / office 2007Daniel West
    NHS / Home User
    Dell XPS 710

Based on my known, a corrupt add-on could cause the problem. I have following suggestion.
    Run IE without Add-ons
    =============================
    1. Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
    2. Visit website in this IE and test the issue. .
If still cannot be run, please try to run it as administrator.
    Hope it helps.

  • After installation of latest Bridge and Photoshop version (2014.2.2) *.CR2 files will not be displayed correctly, neither in preview nor in Camera Raw dialog.

After installation of latest Bridge and Photoshop version (2014.2.2) *.CR2 files will not be displayed correctly anymore, neither in preview nor in Camera Raw dialogue.
Some pictures have white squares with blue and red diagonal stripes that cover almost the complete picture.
When opening those files I have the same problem in Camera Raw dailogue and even in Photoshop eventually.
I tried to open the same same pictures on another computer with the same version of Bridge and Photoshop but the problem remains the same.
It seems like the files itselves are still ok, because if you open an explorer window the previews of the pictures are all ok. And the pictures' sizes remain the same.
I tried to clear the cache in both programs but it didn't help.
    Has anyone an idea????

First see if a reboot of your PC helps.  If not,
    Resets may be in order:
Photoshop: Press and hold Control - Shift - Alt immediately upon cold-starting Photoshop.  If you get the keys down quickly enough - and you have to be VERY quick - it will prompt you to confirm deletion of your established preferences, which will lead to them all being set to defaults.
Bridge:  Start Adobe Bridge and immediately press Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) until the Reset Settings dialog box appears. Select all three options--Reset Preferences, Reset Standard Workspaces, and Purge Entire Thumbnail Cache--and then click OK.
Outdated graphics drivers can also cause display problems. Go to your GPU maker's website and be sure you have the latest drivers for your card model.

  • ITunes 10.4 full screen with Win7-64bit doesn't work correctly.

iTunes 10.4 full screen with Win7-64 doesn't work correctly. I have the Windows taskbar on the left side of my screen. Maximized iTunes is panned to the left.

Same issue here. When the Windows taskbar is position on the top of the screen and then the iTunes windows is maximised, it's position is as if the Windows taskbar is at the bottom of the screen so the top of the iTunes window sits under the taskbar.
For those wanting a workaround, hold shift and right click the iTunes icon in the taskbar/quick launch bar and click restore, at least then you can adjust it to be full screen manually.

Windows Explorer doesn't display some files until I play or get info for them in iTunes.

I think I solved the problem by going to File -> Library -> Organize Library

  • Wrt54g web based setup screens

After entering my password for my router, the basic setup screen
displays, but there are no buttons shown for Wireless or other options.
I can't get to any of the other configuration screens.
I get the same results with IE7 and Firefox V3.
The router functions ok but I can't make any configuration changes to
    the router.

To view the router's web pages:
Use Internet Explorer, it usually works.
    JavaScript must be enabled.
Use a computer that is wired to the router.
In the non-working computer, temporarily turn off your software firewall.
If you are using Zone Alarm, right click on the ZA icon in the system tray (lower right corner of screen) and then click "Shutdown ZoneAlarm", and see if this fixes your problem. If this does not work, try the following with Zone Alarm: Open the ZAISS control center, go to Privacy, then temporarily turn off Ad Blocking and Cookie Control, and see if that fixes your problem.
If you are using Noton Internet Security with the Add-on Pack, be sure to turn off the Pop-up Blocker, and the Ad blocker. Some users have reported that they needed to uninstall the entire Norton Add-on Pack.
If you cannot get anything at 192.168.1.1 then perhaps this is not your router's address. Go to "Start" > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt.
A black DOS box will appear. Type in "ipconfig" (with no quotes), then hit the Enter key. Look at the "Default Gateway". Is it 192.168.1.1 ? Point your browser to the "Default Gateway", then login to your router.
If the above fails, disconnect your modem from the router, and try again. If this corrects your problem, then most likely you have a "modem-router" rather than an ordinary modem. Check to see if your "modem-router" is using the same 192.168.1.x address space as your Linksys router. If it is, then report back with this problem, and also state the make and model of your modem-router.
If all of the above fails, power down your entire system, unplug it from the wall, wait one minute, then power up and try again.
If all of the above tips fail, then reset the router to factory defaults: Power down the router and disconnect all wires from it. Wait one minute. Power up the router, allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes), then press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release the button and allow the router to reset and reboot ( 2-3 minutes). Power down router. Wait one minute. Connect one computer, by wire, to a LAN port on the router. Boot up system. The router's setup pages should work, however, you will need to setup the router again from scratch.
If the reset does not fix your system, then you need to download and install (or re-install) the latest firmware for your router. After the firmware upgrade, you must reset the router to factory defaults, then setup the router again from scratch. If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.

  • Trouble opening website via Internet Explorer on PC

Hi there, I have recently published two websites with iWeb, both of which open and run superbly in Safari on the Mac but when you try and open them on Internet Explorer on a PC only the top of the page will download and the rest of the site is invisible. Does anyone know why this is? I am using iWeb version 1.1.2 and have created both sites on my iMac which is running OS X 10.4.9 if this helps?
I hope someone out there can help? I can give you the website addresses if you need further info?

Due to my customer's most common setup I had to address these IE6 issues as well. Some background may illustrate the problems. Not only has IE6 difficulties with .png, but as well for example with lists (in case you use them, they are an undocumented feature of iWeb and somehat buggy), and more. To solve some of the .png issues iWeb spends some code utilizing "Active Script". That drives IE6 to render the page almost completely, and then the script will fix some of the ugly behavior. You can check that by your elements to navigate on top of your pages (these unfortunatley become .png) within IE6, or with the buttons to start a slideshow.
What I found on your first page: Move the cursor over it, it turns to be a senstive area to start the user's mail program to send a mail to info@... - try to remove that first.
Even more, there are a lot of setups of IE6 where "Active Script" is forbidden (in banks, insurances companies etc.). Ever tried to force a large organizition to migrate to IE7? Or to allow Active Script, let's say for 30.000 users? You'll get the impact...
So here is what I did to obtain some compatibility with IE6:
    Installed IE6 on Paralles.
    Switched "Active Script" to "Never".
Now you can check what is going on
    In my pages:
Reengineered every element to navigate manually - no iWeb automatism, switched them all to off with iWeb's inspector
Reconstructed every picture to the size they should be /outside/ of iWeb, using Graphics Converter
Removed every frame from all text elements in iWeb
Switched to web and windows compatible fonts (e.g. Courier to Courier New)
Checked every page to contain plain text instead of graphic - click into the rendered page and try to drag: Does the the whole block move? Then you are on the wrong way
Removed every formatting attribute from the text: Alignment, Highth etc.
The only element I couldn't cover is the button for the slideshow - but I've read somewhere else that you can define an object and associate that with a link directly to the script on your server which iWeb puts there. But of course that does not help in case where your favorite visitors are cut off from using Active Script completely.
    Good Luck!

  • For email links from state of Montana employees to pdf files: Firefox pulls up a blank screen but Internet Explorer pulls up the pdf file.

Whenever I get an email from a state of Montana employee with a link to a pdf file, the link does not work - it just pulls up a blank screen in Firefox. However, when I put the same link in Internet Explorer, the link works and the pdf file appears on my screen. This prevents me from efficiently using email. Here is an example of a link I recently received: "As noted in the [http://leg.mt.gov/content/committees/interim/2011-2012/water-policy/agenda/wpic09132011.pdf agenda pdf] agenda, the Committee will discuss a variety of water-related topics..."

How do I install the Firefox plugin it's talking about on that page?
I only see directions to install Adobe Reader.
I cannot install a different version of Adobe. As I mentioned above, I do not have Admin privileges on this computer.
This is the version of Adobe that my employer has decided we will be using, and I do not have a vote.
I can change internal settings, and I can install Firefox plugins, but I can't install programs themselves - I don't have the necessary Admin rights to do so.
Thanks anyway, but I don't have the Admin rights needed to install Adobe Reader in the manner mentioned in this article. (I have the full Adobe Acrobat XI version 11.0.09).

    Hello everyone
flv content on flash player 10 comes out jagged, not smooth at all on Microsoft Internet Explorer 6,7 & 8.
