WRT54G vr.3.0 Incoming/outgoing connections

I may possible have the wrong field, but after troubleshooting randomly over the last month or so I determend that this is the only factor of which could make sense as to the cause of my problem. While using a program of which connects to many people at once (bittorrent as one may assume), all internet activity slows down drastically to the point that doing anything but downloading is possible. I have figured out that my Linksys router likes between 100 connects total globally of which I manage via "Maximum number of global connections" inside of these programs. From what I see, my router is using vr. 3.0 of its firmware, and I know that its upgradeable but alas I do not own it, I can only play with it (its my landlords). Is there a way that I can change the settings inside of it in order to let in/out more connections globally? Or am I going to have to suffer for a year until I move out? (I know why Linksys would design such a thing into it, now I want to get rid of that aspect of it) Thanks.

You are not alone. Mt wife and daughter both have the 2G iPhone and I have a 3G iPhone.
The 2 x 2G's could make incoming an outgoing calls to land lines but not to my 3G iPhone. Most calls were going straight into answer phone, any text sent took forever to either send or be received (many hours) and battery life was incredibly short and the battery was getting very hot.
This worked for the two 2G iphones and the 3G iPhone following upgrading to version 3.0 from 2.2;
1. Go to Settings app on the iPhone > General > Scroll down to "Reset" and the select the top option to "Reset All Settings" This will reset the settings and reboot.
2. Go to Settings app on the iPhone > General > Scroll down to "Reset" and the select the 3rd option to "Reset Network Settings" This will reset the settings and reboot.
3. Now plug the iphone and connect to iTunes and click on the "Info" Tab
4. Manually check the synchronisation settings as they may need to be reset to how you want them to work - just act like you are starting from scratch. (contacts, music, etc.)
Problem solved !!
Obviously turn off Fetch, Push, Wifi, 3G etc if not required to maximise battery life.

Mail Server "Type" and Mail Server "Address" for Incoming & Outgoing Mail

First, the only browser I use is Mozilla's Firefox, the best browser hands down. Second, I have both a Yahoo email account and a Google "gmail" account that I use regularly (daily). I am trying to set up a mail washing program to rid myself of these ridiculous spammers & scammers, however I need to the the Incoming & Outgoing mail server "type" & "address" to do this and I seem to have guessed the yahoo settings, but I can't seem to get the Google gmail account set up properly. Yahoo settings that worked are: Server Type="POP3" and Server Address="pop.mail.yahoo.com", with advanced settings: Secure Authentication=Required, Secure Connection (SSL)=Required, Store Cached Emails=Yes, Server Port Number=995 (set), Pipelining=Enabled. The equivalent settings for the Google gmail account result in an error message = "Failed to log into POP3 Server". Of course user name & password triple checked, Type=POP3, Address=pop.mail.gmail.com, and , Address="pop.gmail.com" tried also, Port and other settings the same. Where can I find this info for both accounts? Tanks a million! -jw

Yahoo and Gmail support should be able to help you.
Not related to Firefox support, web mail doesn't use POP or SMTP protocols which is what email clients such as Thunderbird use for communicating with email servers.

Why does firefox want to accept incoming internet connections

My firewall is telling me that Firefox wants to accept incoming internet connections, surely firefox internet access should be outgoing only.

Incomming internet connections

Hi,
I'm trying to test something at work using my N78 where by I'm using PC suite to connect a laptop to the internet via my phone. However, I'm testing a piece of software where I need to have incoming access (kind of like a web-server). My question is, is this possible or are only outgoing connections possible. I have found the laptops externally accessible IP address but I can't seem to 'ping' it.
Any ideas?

Your mobile network provider usually shields you via a proxy.
The public IP address you found is that of your provider's proxy while the IP address of the phone itself is probably somehwere in RFC1918-space. When I connect I end up somewhere in 10.0.0.0/8.
Bearing this in mind, inbound IP connections are not possible over your provider's packet service, only outbound.
The inability to ping the IP address is most likely because many networks have their public-facing machines set to ignore ICMP echo_request messages.

Blocked outgoing connection /Firewall?

So I have application that I blocked before from incoming and outgoing connections. Today when I allow it to communicate by turning on "allow connections" in firewall pref pane it doesnt want to connect to update server, I turned off firewall and the same problem persists. It feels like it stored some files and doesnt let me communicate to its server no matter what.
- I ersed from preferences com.apple.alf.plist
- I reinstalled the program
Im not using any 3rd part firewall blocking apps and it feel like something is blocking connection out of my computer.

You are correct - Cloud Database Service users cannot manage the Oracle Wallet themselves. The Cloud APEX instance is configured with the Oracle Wallet that includes 76 common root Certificate Authority certificates. The "GeoTrust Global CA" certificate is among them (StartSSL is not).
It seems that you are using the "GeoTrust(R) SSL Trial" certificate, which cannot be validated using the provided Oracle Wallet (perhaps the trial certificate is limited in some way). As an example, I compared the certificate chain used by [https://jquery.org/] and it matches yours exactly (same root CA, same intermediate CA). However, they have "QuickSSL(R)" certificate and it can be successfully validated using the provided Oracle Wallet.
So, it seems that if you upgrade your trial certificate to the full certificate, you should be able to consume your web service from the Cloud Database Service.

There is no such thing as "macs specific codes" for standard POP or IMAP email accounts. The incoming & outgoing settings specify the servers your email application (like Mail.app or Thunderbird) connects to. These servers are maintained by providers like Google or .Mac with whom you have an email account. Any client app that complies with the POP or IMAP mail standard can be used with such accounts, regardless of the platform or OS it runs.
Moreover, Inboxes don't 'belong' to client applications but to accounts; thus, there is no such thing as a "Thunderbird inbox," at least in the sense you use it. However, in Mail.app or Thunderbird for example, you can create an account for each email provider, entering the individual, account-specific server information for each one.
Thus you could have for example a Verizon account, A Google mail account, & a .Mac account, each with its individual settings, mailboxes, etc.

Incoming/outgoing calls either hang up or do not ring.

Over the last month, Skype has been giving me and others in my house issues.List of symptoms:Incoming/Outgoing calls do not ring. However, you recieve a missed call notification.Incoming/Outgoing calls ring but are immediately dropped.This has happened to me and others in my house when using a laptop with wifi and/or a PC with an ethernet connection. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I have the most current version on Skype (in fact, installed an update last night). I do have comcast but figured it wasn't an Internet issue since I can access all web sites. This only seems to happen when using Skype. Anyone else having this issue? Know of a way to fix it? Hmmm. How is it that you're ending the call? If you're using the "End Call" option and pressing on the button, then it SHOULD stay on. I don't have the manual right here in front of me, but you could download it for yourself and see what it has to say about this. Here is the link for the pdf version.

How can I control and monitor outgoing connections?
I have not heard good things about littleSnitch or tcpBlock.

Outlook 2007 - hotmail not not populating in outlook - incoming/outgoing server not working

Hi - I am switching computers and have reinstalled Outlook 2007. When I add my account it asks for incoming/outgoing mail server information from my ISP. I am unable to look on previous laptop set up as the "repair"
portion of account is not highlighted and I can't get to that level to see it. I contacted my ISP (Comcast) who provided: Incoming Server: mail.comcast.net and Outgoing Server: smtp.comcast.net. They also provided incoming mail server: port
number 995 (POP3) 110 (POP3); and outgoing mail server: 465(SMTP) 587(SMTP). This is not working. Who has a solution?
P.S. Comcast is my new provider as of 3 weeks ago and no issues with old laptop--also that would not have been my incoming/outgoing server information then. thank you

Accept/Deny incoming network connection for apps already accepted/denied

i am constantly getting the dialog box to allow/deny incoming network connections for applications that i launch on my MBPro, even though these programs have already been allowed or denied. this causes multiple entries for the same applications in my firewall advanced list. each time i accept or deny, a new entry of the same program is added to the list. as an example, for Excel i have 5 entries - 2 that allow incoming connections, 3 that deny. the same goes for apps like itunes, word, nleac, and others.
if i delete these extra entries, they just get added to the next time i launch the program.
i've tried the remedy suggested by the macfixit forum (http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-10330466-263.html) of deleting the firewall preference file "com.apple.alf.plist" and performing a disk permission under Safe Mode - didnt help.
looking for new suggestions. incidently, this wasnt always the case and other than upgrading to snow leopard, i cant specifically recall a change that started this problem.

i've been doing that for some time now, as this problem has been going on for months. even after i delete all of the programs that have multiple listings (and the key word there is ALL because basically every program that wants access has multiple listings here) the list gets re-populated the next/every time i launch that application. even if i later deny an application's request after accepting previously, they'll be multiple listings for that app - including listings to Allow and listings to Deny - for the the same app!!!

ITunes - Incoming network connections error message

I have a Mac and I keep get an error message appear when I open my ITunes.
The error message reads " Do you want the application iTunes to accept incoming network connections".
I have changed the security settings to accept incoming network connections but the error message keeps coming up.

My father has a perfectly good working 17 inch MacBook Pro, running on 10.4.8 which is the most modern version it's allowed to run, plus running iTunes 9.x and have the same problem. It does get tiring clicking each time, it does get annoying not being able to use airplay because it blames the firewall, and It gets annoying entering the administrate access and password each time.
When he selects the AirPort Express in question, that used to throw up the "not set in your firewall to allow AirPlay".
Clicking the firewall preferences button is useless, as it's already been given permission to allow incoming Internet connection, and clicking ignore makes it either crash , stop working or be inactive.
Turning firewall off to allow all connections defeats the point of having a firewall, but used to work most of the time, but doesn't seem to work now.
This coincides with him suddenly not being able to browse the Internet streams through the old iTunes radio button, but the ones that he did safe to his personal playlists play fine and he can enter custom stream URLs fine. So something on apples side must be stopping the use of the old radio button that allows you to browse through various genres of Internet music streams.
For the record there has been no iTunes or operating system updates for 10.4.8 for a couple of years now at the very least. So that is where our situation lies. A solution other than iTunes which no longer allows browsing.

Basically it is used to accept the payment not based on certain invoice (open invoices) if you tick the field (tick box field). You must manually reconcile the payment to the invoices using automatic internal reconciliation or link invoice to payment feature that is available in banking module --> bank statements and reconciliations --> link invoices to payment. If you use the reconciliation option, you will also must create balancing journal before reconcile the transaction (i.e. open transaction in debit and credit side reconciliation balancing journal).
