WRT54G2 doesnt recognize my network card during setup

I am trying to setup my WRT54G2 router.  I  ran the setup disk and  I get a message saying "Can't locate  wired network adapter". However, my network adapter is installed  and seems to be working fine.   The network card is an NVIDIA nforce  networking controller.
Is there a problem with NVIDIA  not being recognized by Linksys ?  Any fix for this?
Thanks

Hi
Instead , why dont u try connecting ur modem directly to computer?
see if dat works , if it does ...i dont think thers any problem with the adapter !!
if it doesnt , den u surley need to get an update of ur adapter drivers..!!!

  • Some VM don't recognize virtual network cards

    Hi all,
I have an hyper-v install with a dell T320 server with two ethernet cards from Broadcom and Windows Server 2012 R2 as hyper-v server.
I have one VM with 2012 R2 and one another host with 2012 Std. All the systems are working fine since we make the install.
Since this morning I see that the 2012 Std server is not able to connect to the network.
I shutdown all VMs, delete the Vswitch, delete the physical network card, restart the host, recreate a new vswitch and reconnect the VMs to it. I access the network on 2012 R2 but in 2012 Std the OS see no network card.
    What can I do.

    Hi Derick,
    Please try following steps :
    1. Configure Device Manager in the VM to show hidden devices (the article says it is for XP but it works on all Windows OS')
    https://support.microsoft.com/kb/315539
    2. Delete all virtual NICs and when you delete the last one, also delete the driver when prompted.
    3. Shut down the VM.
    4. Remove the NIC from the VM settings.
    5. Start the VM with no NIC.
    6. Log in to the VM, then shut it down again.
    7. Add a NIC back to the VM.
    8. Start the VM again.
    9. Configure the new NIC with a static IP.
    10. Reboot and see if that resolves the problem.
If it still doesn't work , I would suggest you to attach the problematic VM's VHD file to a new VM .
    Best Regards,
    Elton Ji

  • Satellite M40: card reader doesnt recognize RS-MMC cards

I have a problem with the card reader,if i insert a RS-MMC card this does not recognized and windows crash.
SD or MMC cards functions perfectly.
    The card reader is damaged?

    you can do the following:
push your rs-mcc card into the slot without the adapter, you will need a pencil or sthg like that to push it far enough..
then your notebook will recognize it
you can pull out your card again by shoving the adapter after it in the slot, when you hear the clicking sound you can pull the adapter with the card on it out of the slot
(when i put the adapter on the card before, and put the card then into the slot, it didnt function at all, seemed like the card couldnt be pushed deep enough into the slot due to the adapter)
at least it worked for me, i had the rs-mcc card and the adapter from my siemens s65 mobile phone
besides, though this procedure might sound a bit rough, it didnt seem to me that it did any harm neither to the adapter, nor to the card + slot

  • How to configure Netgear FA510C Network Card

I installed Solaris 8 (Intel) on my laptop(Compaq Presario
1275) and have NetGear FA510C network card to be
configured. When I installed Solaris, it didn't recognize
the network card, and I have no idea how to configure
this network card. Does any have any idea how to
install and configure this network card?
    I'll appreciate your help.
    cwpak

Try to use devfsadm -v to find the device
Then use ifconfig dnet0 (not positive this is the right syntax for SMC) to plumb the device.
Then use ifconfig dnet0 192.168.50.4 up
You may have to modify these files to get the IP to come up on startup and properly resolve:
    /etc/hostname.dnet0
    /etc/netmasks
    /etc/resolv.conf
    /etc/defaultrouter
    /etc/nodename

  • Setup wireless card during bootup

    Hey,
It took my awhile to get my wireless card to work but I finally got it to work. In the beginning, I had to type every command to get my wireless card to work. A little later my friend made a script that runs during start up. But it encountered a problem. When the command ''dhcpcd ath0" it would just hang so I took that out. It ran fine but now I have to run "dhcpcd ath0", let it run for 4 or 5 seconds, then kill it with ctrl + c, and then finally run it again. My connection is then established. So this gets a little annoying.
Now I come to you, the community. What is the best way to setup a wireless card during boot-up? My friend (yes, its the same one as before ) said that there was a wireless script or profile that most people use. Would this help? Thanks.

    Is this correct?
    Not entirely.
Comment everything in the DNS section , it's not used with dhcp and could cause conflicts
    In wireless settings
    - uncomment the line for IFOPTS
    - comment the line WIFI_INTERFACE (iirc it's only needed with ndiswrapper)
Change the DESCRIPTION field to something appropriate like "Wlan at home"

The install defaults to DHCP, If your workstation can connect to the internet, then the server should be able also.

Most likely the phone is locked to a carrier that you haven't tried yet.

  • G3/OS 10.3 does not recognize the network

I just mounted a new Airport network card into a (WiFi capable slot) iMac G3 (576 Mb RAM) running OSX 10.3. After restart, the Airport icon in the toolbar is present, albeit all gray, as one would expect before connecting.
My network is served by a D-Link 801.11G WiFi router. SSID is not cloaked - it is broadcast and freely accessible: It works, several (non-Apple) laptops recognize the network and connect to it fine.
However, my iMac does not see the network, neither from the Airport icon in the toolbar nor scanned from the Airport Setup Wizard. I located the iMac right next to the WiFi point to eliminate any signal strength/interference issues.
I will bring an Airport iBook G4 as well as an Airport Express wireless point to check if there is something wrong with this iMac's card, and will also bring in a long CAT5 patch cord to hard-connect the G3 (to download any Airport patches or firwmare upgrades), but was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on why a non-cloaked 802.11G network would not be recognized by my iMac.
    SK
iMac G3 slot (blue) Mac OS X (10.3)

Ensure that you have the antenna wire properly connected to the AirPort card in the iMac.
Also ensure that your D-Link is configured to work either in 802.11b/g or "802.11b only" mode. Since the original AirPort card in your iMac is 802.11b, your router must be in a 802.11b compatible mode.

  • Problems with my network card..

I have just installed arch on my new desktop computer, everything seems fine after a base install,
Now, the command $ ifconfig, displays lo and eth0, recognizes the hardware name and all sorts, but for some reason dhcpcd always fails to run (times out) on eth0,.
The device works fine under fedora (temporary solution), but I was wondering how I would go about making my network card work under arch.

Was able to get one stable working at 1600 fsb with a few clock and voltage tweaks (NOT MINE OF COURSE!)
The other has been unstable from the start
Cannot raise any voltages, getting constant restarts and bsods and finally last night - even thougyh vista installed the driver itself during installation - my network card dirver has gone...and yes i have reinstalled using setup.exe AND just the *.inf file to no avail.  Any suggestions>? Anyone else seen this before?
    Thanks in advance guys

For me, Vista pretty much self recognized the network card even before installing the chipset driver from MSI.
But download the MSI INF file again, it's pretty much all you can do.
You can go down to default settings in bios, get rid of all of the Overclocks first.
If the network card still is not recognized after multipel tries, it's pretty much safe to say the network portion of your mb might be fried.

  • Updated bios via Live Update and now my Network card isn't detected

I have an msi Z87-GD65 Gaming Motherboard and I updated some drivers and the bios via msi Live Update 6 last night and now my computer refuses to recognize my network adapter. The adapter is a TRENDnet N600, plugs into PCIe if I'm not mistaken. Wifi if my only option with this computer, I can't use ethernet, so it's really important I get the network card working again. I have had zero issues with it until this.
The reason I was updating was to try to get my third monitor to work when plugged into the mobo, while my other two were plugged into the graphics card (which I also installed yesterday, but it's working fine). Note that it still was not working, but I had enabled the IGD Multi-Monitor from bios.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I did try uninstalling the drivers but it still won't detect the network card. I also tried disconnecting and reconnecting the network card (and I cleaned the port for good measure).
I've only been using Windows computers for a year, so bear with me if there's stuff I don't know. Thanks in advance. I can try to get a full list of what was installed later tonight, but all of it that I can find has been uninstalled at this point.
Note: I did not flash the bios when I installed, which I have now heard is a bad idea, apparently. l:

I updated some drivers and the bios via msi Live Update 6 last night and now my computer refuses to recognize my network adapter.
can you clarify is you update BIOS too or not?
and what is your current bios version?

    or to reinstall OS?
