WRT54G2 - IP address not correct in status page
I recently bought a new WRT54G2 (firmware 1.0.01), and it's been working fine for a couple of months. However, recently I've been unable to connect via Remote Admin, and also I've been unable to use my FTP client, so I checked the status page, and here's what it shows for my IP:

This is NOT my IP address, and seems to me like the router has reset to a default value. Anybody know why this would happen? My internet connection is working fine, as well as my internal network, but I just can't get my FTP client to work, or connect remotely to my computer.

So my difficulty is that my router does not show the IP address of my ISP it shows the IP address assigned by the router( I think). What I mean is I need the router to be identified by the 172(174?) address not the 10 one. Forgive me for my lack of understanding, but in order fort wife's work from home program to work, the system needs to see the correct IP address. On the remote side should wireless clients be getting an IP address from that network or should these be getting an IP from your local network?

Device in Linksys Smart Wi-Fi is listed with two MAC address - not correct.
I am using a EA4500 and use Linksys Smart Wi-Fi to manage the device. In the household we have multiple Apple i devices. Somehow the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi combined two separte i devices (iPhone 5 and a 4th generation iTouch) to one user.
The devices actually have different names, but the Smart Wi-Fi is combining them into one device. So I can't use Parental Controls on one of the devices.
I hope you can help me on this. We have made sure both devices have different names.

how can I save a page and all its component parts in a single file, like IE does as an MHT?
It's much easier for mailing to people where page address not available?? (as in output from an airline booking site, for example)
It is simply too painful to have to zip everything up into a single file to send. MHT format has been available for years now from IE, and with every new FF release it's the first thing I look for. I have been using FF for years, and hate having to come out of it, over into IE |(which I even took out of startup) and key everything in again, in order to send somebody something in a convenient format that they can open with a single click.
I can't believe this hasn't been asked before, so have you looked at it and rejected it? Have MS kept the file format secret?

MGThis is not really an answer just my comments on your question.
I am sure I recollect efforts being made to get mhtml to work with FF.
Probably the important thing to remember about .mhtml is that if other browsers do support it they may need addons, and may not necessarily render the content correctly/consistently.
There are FF addons designed for archiving webpages, you could try them, but that then assumes the recipient has the same software.
You could simply save the page from FF to your XP pc; then offline open it with and save it using IE, before then emailing using FF, and attaching the .mht or mhtml file that you have now created on your PC.
As an alternative method, in some cases it could be worth considering taking a screen grab of the required page, then sending that to the recipient as a single email attatchment using either a bitmap or jpeg file format for instance.
Something such as an airline booking may be designed with a print option, possibly it could be worthwile looking at sending the print file itself as an email attachment. -
802.1x accounting does not reflect correct port status
Hi,
I've just discovered an issue when trying to use MSFT supplicant and Cisco 802.1x accounting. This makes 802.1x accounting completely unusable.
Facts:
1. MSFT supplicant does not send EAPOL-Logoff messages and there's no way to enable this (btw. Aegis client does not send it either, except when disabling interface).
2. I am doing machine authentication along with domain authentication.
3. Windows XP SP2 is used with EAP registry hacks applied.
4. PEAP/MS-CHAPv2 method is used.
Now when the computer is started it is logged into 802.1x with 'host/machine' account and RADIUS accounting start is sent by the switch. That's fine.
When a user logs on with its 'domain\user' identity, then EAPOL-Start is sent from the host triggering new EAP message exchange and the user is authenticated correctly. However the switch sends Interim Accounting still using 'host/machine' credentials which is obviously wrong.
Even more bizarre accounting happens when the user subsequently logs off from the machine. The EAPOL-Start is sent from the host triggering new authentication process for 'host/machine' identity and the host is authenticated ok. The accounting being sent is:
- first Accounting Stop for 'host/machine' User-Name
- then strange Interim Accounting with most attributes empty or missing

So that the accounting sent from the switch does not reflect current status of the authenticated user on a given port.

If I click on an e-mail address link in a web page instead of a blank message opening I always get a pop up screen with a log-in for googlemail. I do not have and do not want a googlemail account. I just want to be able to send e-mails using Outlook.
OUtlook was already set as the mail client for FF, and is my operating system (XP)'s default mail programme. therefore problem not solved at all. what I get whenever I follow a link in a webpage to send an e-mail is a little pop up window asking me to sign in to gmail or open an account. any other suggestions?

I am unable to verify email address to sign in to icloud so that I can backup my stuff. I am not getting an email from apple to follow a link to verify email address. I have checked to make sure the email address is correct in the icloud settings, but all it will tell me is to check my email for instructions on how to verify my account. I am not getting the email! Please help, I am able to sign in to my itunes account and buy new music all the time! I get my itunes receipts and everything, and know the email is correct so what is the deal?
If you have given correct info about you ios 6.1.3 - all you need to do is delete account. You will be able to sign in with new one afterwards. Make sure you don't delete any info when you see those prompts.

When printing a list in Address Book, how can I select more than the default Attributes and keep them selected when I print again? I want to print ALL information for contacts so I have email address, notes, phone, company, title, etc all on one page. I don't want to have to check off an additional 5 or 6 attributes each time I print out contact information. Is there a way to change the default setting for printing lists, so it is not just "phone," "photo," and "job title?"
I have a user who wants to do this same thing. I did not find any way either to default the attributes to anything other than what you see the first time. Seems like such a trivial thing, hard to believe they do not allow it. I did find a program for this called iDress but I can't seem to download it from any links on the Internet. Not sure if it is free or not, but it was recommended by a link on the Mac support site.

User created apple id account, verified but know she is unable to log on, it says incorrect password, she tried to reset via forgot password option but it does not send reset password page to here e- mail address, how can i get this sorted? or how can i get her whole apple account deleted and created new one using same e - mail address?
The idea to jumpstart by change was not the smartest one, but gives you an opportunity to use that "temporary" account as permanent. You do not have a choice cause obviously despite you thinking that old account is no more -it does exist on Apple servers. And if you are unwilling to share your [email protected] with friend, just create one extra [email protected] for your friend. One suggestion - do not use gmail.

i have updated my iphone 5s to iOS8 but it has my old icloud account, how can i change the icloud email address as i can not get passed this page??

If you can't remember them, you can go to iforgot.apple.com to try to recover the information.
If you are the original owner of the phone & have proof of purchase, you can try calling Apple to see if they can assist also.

A have new problem that has appeared in my Mac Mail. When I type a frequently used email into the 'To: line' it populates the correct name but with 8 different email addresses not associated with that name. I have gone to the window pop-down to 'previous recipients' and deleted that addressee as well as all the email addresses it is assigning to that name. I have also deleted the account entirely from my address book. I have have run repair permissions and also full defrag in iDefrag. Still the problem persists. Any suggestions?

Can't send email. Get error: "An error occurred while sending. The mail sever responded: From address is not valid [R0107001]. Please verify your email address is correct in your Mail Preference and try again."

After receiving the error message I try to resend. Get second error message. BUT AFTER ABOUT SIX TRYS THE MESSAGE IS SENT.
What shall I do???problem solved. an update thunderbird message showed up, did update and now works. WOW!

When trying to print in Firefox, and when scaling the page size in page setup, the first page prints correctly, but subsequent pages do not scale correctly and are too large for the paper, with parts of the text are being cut off at the top and right. This is not fixed by checking or un-checking the "ignore scaling/shrink to fit page width" in the print window, or by changing the scaling%.
I am running Firefox 15.0.1, on Mac OS 10.5.8.
The same problem happens in the print preview and if I save the print as a .pdf
I have tried all the fixes in the how to's and others in various forums with no improvement.
This happens every time I try to print a document scaled up or down only in Firefox.The 2nd page print scaling error has been an issue with Firefox on the Mac since 2011. People at Mozilla have not considered this a major problem. Try printing anything at less than 100% and you'll quickly see how every page after the first page being scaled wrong gets old real fast. The lack of a solution to this issue forced me long ago into using Safari as my primary browser. Good luck waiting until version 21 for a solution. Current release is 18.0.2.

FF 4.01 does not handle Text Box correctly and some pages need reloading before showing correctly
FF 4.01 does two things incorrectly when displaying some sites which are not replicated on Google Chrome:
# 1: Some pages do not load correctly first time and the images and text are spread out vertically one by one.
