Wrt54g2 wireless router--unable to establish connectivity

I have to unplug/replug my router powercord connection every time i want to use my laptop to access the internet.  i have reinstalled the software disc that came with my router.  i have have comcast check my modem--no problems. any suggestions?  do i need a new router?

If that is the case then you can try the following steps:
# Open up the browser and on the address bar type 192.168.1.1 that will open up the Router setup page…
# Click on Wireless Tab and make the wireless channel to 6, 9 or 11. (These are considered to be the best)…
# Click on the Advanced Wireless Settings change Beacon Interval to 75, Fragmentation Threshold to 2306, RTS Threshold to 2307...
# After doing these settings check for the connectivity….
Also, make sure that you do not have any interfering devices like Microwaves and cordless phones near the wireless router. These devices work on the same frequency as that of the router works…

  • How setup a WRT54G2 Wireless Router to connect to a SmartPhone to Retrieve E-Mail

    I have a new WRT54G2 Wireless Router and I can Surf the Web on my Smartphone via the Router but I am unable to retieve my E-Mail like I used to do with my old Wireless Router.
    Anyone know what setting I need to change on the WRT54G2 Wireless Router?

    Hi Richard,
    Welcome to the community forum!
    Did you check the mail setup in your smartphone to see if anything changed? Check if the incoming and outgoing mail servers are correct.
    A software update might have reset the settings.
    If all looks good in the smartphone mail setup, do you recall if you had to open ports in the old router to make email work?

    Thank you for your response.
    I had rebooted the router (several times, actually), to no avail.
    I do not know the answer to whether MAC filtering is enabled on the router.  Have tried to find info about that, but unsuccessfully.  Router is an Arris TG852G, supplied by Comcast.  I would be surprised if MAC filtering were the issue, since in addition to the computer, we have successfully connected several other devices to the wifi, namely an iPad, a Android phone and a Kindle Fire - all able to access internet pages through the wifi, and all without a need to add the device to a MAC address whitelist.  To add to the mystery, the Comcast tech was able to connect his iPhone 4 to my network and access web pages.  He was unable to connect my iPhone, however, after trying for some time.
    I seem to recall reading somewhere that an iPhone cannot connect to a wireless "n" router, only "b" or "g".  The Arris router is described as a n/g/b compliant router, and as noted the Comcast tech was able to connect his iPhone, so don't know why that would be the issue here.
    By the way, my iPhone does connect wirelessly to my network at home.  This difficulty is at a second home.
    Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

  • I have an Airport Extreme wireless router & I can not connect my Kindle.

    I have an Airport Extreme wireless router & I can not connect my Kindle.  Also, my password will not work when a visitor uses it for a laptop (even a Mac) or any other device that uses the internet.  It says the password is incorrect.  I easily connected a Kindle last year, but I got a new one & now I can not connect wirelessly.  I see no tab to create a guest network.  I do not mind giving my password to visitors, but that does not work.

    If you temporarily disable wireless encryption on your 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn), can the Kindle connect to the router and gain access to the Internet now? If so, then I would suggest that you reconfigure the AEBSn to use "WPA2 Personal" for the Wireless Security setting, and then, try connecting with the Kindle again.
    As far as establishing a Guest Network, the AEBSn must not be in bridge mode. That is, it should be the only router in your current network and directly conncted to the Internet modem. If it is, then you would find the Guest Networking option on the AirPort > Guest Networking tab:

    Windows Server 2008 R2  Standard SP1 64-bit -  SQL Server 2008R2 Standard 64-bit
    VMware vCenter Server Version 5.1.0

    Error = [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0]Client unable to establish connection due to prelogin failure

    The bcp program executes successfully on a local instance of SQL Server.

    The error has nothing to do with BCP as such, but it is a connection problem. That is, for some reason you cannot connect to your instance from the VM. I would exect that you face a similar problem if you tried SSMS.
    It could be a firewall issue, but prelogin suggests that you reach the instance. But possibly you don't come far enough for the login failure to be recorded. Possibly the instance is not configured to audit login failures.
    The message you would see would be similar to
    2010-08-18 14:11:30.91 Logon       Error: 17809, Severity: 20, State: 3
    Possibly followed by a a line that details the message. The error number may be different.

  • Client unable to establish connection; 08001;

    Hello,
    My SSAS multidimensional cube processing fails with the following error:
    "OLE DB error: OLE DB or ODBC error: A network-related or instance-specific error has occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. Server is not found or not accessible. Check if instance name is correct and if SQL Server is configured to
    allow remote connections. For more information see SQL Server Books Online.; 08001; Client unable to establish connection; 08001; Encryption not supported on the client.; 08001"
    It was running fine with no errors till yesterday. Does anyone know what may be wrong?
    Could it be because of a new firewall rule on the server that host the SQL server?
    Appreciate your help!
    Thanks!

    Hi Nihcas,
    Based on the error message, it seems that the account cannot connect to the data source of the SQL Server Analysis Services database. And you said that a new firewall rule on the server that host the SQL server, then this issue can be caused by this firewall.
    To access an instance of the SQL Server through a firewall, you must configure the firewall on the computer that is running SQL Server to allow access. The firewall is a component of Microsoft Windows. In your scenario, please try to configure the Windows
    Firewall to Allow SQL Server Access and check if the issue is persists or not.

  • Question about Linksys G Wireless Router and i cant connect my iPod Touch and PSP to it.?

    I just got a new Wireless router and it works fine.The model number is WRT54G2. The internet is working and I can go on my xbox live and things like that. The only problem is that my iPod touch and things and my PSP can detect the connection but are unable to join it. Why is this. It was working fine on my previous router. Is there some security thing I have to take off? How do i do this? Thanks in advance

    I tried this and it went to a redish gray page that said "401 Unauthorized Authorization required" Help please?
    It means you entered the wrong password or username, try some other passwords you might have used if the default admin doesn't work.

  • Hooking up/configuring a WRT54G2 wireless router to my wired modem/router.

    Problem description: I have bought a wireless router (Linksys WRT54G2) in order to connect it to my ADSL2+ modem/router (a TP-Link TD8840) to provide wireless internet access to my iPhone and laptop. I only intend to power on the wireless router when I need it, not have it on all the time wasting electricity.
    Attempted fixes: Configuring the WRT54G2 per the install CD, but this appears to mean I must have my wireless router always powered on in order to access the internet even when I'm not using the wireless. Ideally I just want to turn on the wireless router as and when I need it.
    Operating system: Windows XP Pro (32-bit) SP3.
    So, as my description says, I bought a WRT54G2 so I can browse the web on my iPhone using my DSL connection rather than the cellular (3G) network. I currently have the WRT54G2 plugged in from one of its four ethernet ports to an ethernet port on my wired modem/router. The IP of my modem/router is 192.168.1.1, which also appears to be the default ip for the WRT54G2 So I can't access my WRT54G2's admin screen to properly set up the network.
    At this point I feel as if I should reset the WRT54G2 to factory settings and start from scratch, but I lack a coherent set of instructions to point me on my way. It's a bit frustrating because I'm pretty good with computers generally, but networking obviously is not my thing. Can anyone please help

    Hi modeski,
    To setup your WRT54G2 router and make it work with your modem/router there, chnage first the IP of the WRT54G2 from  192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1 before you connect it to the modem/router.
    In other words, you are cascading two routers.
    Hope this help!

  • My Macbook Pro doesnt seem to connect to my Belkin wireless router. It is connected but the internet would not work. any suggestions?

    hey guys. I am having trouble with my internet. My MacBook Pro seems to be connected with Belkin wireless router, but the internet would not work. We recently changed the router so its pretty new, and it used to work on my HP laptop. Although there were some problems, it still worked. But now, the internet works and stops suddenly, and then works again.
    I would love to hear some suggestions to get rid of this.
    Thanks
    Kiran

    If you have not already done so, read the troubleshooting section in Belkin's user manual, contact their customer tech support by phone or go to its website.  Please detail all you have done to resolve your issue.  Need this information so that the users can avoid the "been there, done that" scenario type responses.  This is to avoid repeating the troubleshooting you may have already tried.  Thank you.

  • Unable to establish connection with SQLServer from Java Application

    Dear All,
    I am facing the issue of establishing connection with SQL Server from Java project developed in NWDS. I am writing a jaas plug-in, as a part of that I am writing a login module to authenticate a web application through jaas, and I got need of fetching some data from SQL Server which is located in remote host. I am getting error in the line of code
    <b>Class.forName("com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver")</b>
    I also added the 3 jar files (msbase.jar,mssqlserver.jar,and msutil.jar) to my login module project and copied the same files at C:\usr\sap\J2E\JC01\j2ee\cluster\server0\bin\ext\MSSQL.
    My MI Landscape is j2ee stack + abap stack +WAS 6.40 with MAXDb as a database.
    Could anyone please let me know the solution if you are aware of it.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Kishore

    I solved it by writing the following code
    Connection con;
    Statement stmt;
    DataSource ds;
    Context ctx;
    ctx = new InitialContext();
    if(ctx == null)     throw new Exception("Boom - No Context");
    ds=(DataSource)ctx.lookup("jdbc/SQLDB");
    con = ds.getConnection();
    stmt = con.createStatement();
    String query = "SELECT * FROM SubjectBIR where Subject_ID='" + user + "'";
    ResultSet result  = stmt.executeQuery(query);
    stmt.close();
    con.close();
