WRT54G2 won't get an IP

Recently my mom started complaining that she couldn't get online wirelessly. At first it was intermittent but in the last two weeks it has gone out completely. She was able to connect tot he router but no internet. When I checked it out I found the following:
1) Optimum modem shows link activity and internet activity.
2) Router shows internet connection but status shows no IP addy
3) Laptop has internet access when directly connected to the modem but nothing through router.
So I tried a reset of the router and this did nothing. I also tried to update the firmware but again still no IP address. Has anyone else seen anything like this where the router light indicates there is an internet connection but it doesn't get an IP? I am at a loss to what I can try.

There should be a card/pamphlet that details these steps found in this link included with the router, and these steps can be found in the manual on the CD that was included (if one was included) with the router. It helps to print out the steps detailed in the link below.

Note: Make sure to used a wired computer to access and make changes to the router. Using wireless can cause problems when making changes (especially to the wireless settings). Also you may have to perform a Hard Reset (hold the reset button in for 30 or more seconds) to reset the router back to the default settings (including the passwords). Also, updating the router to the latest firmware via the Linksys/Cisco support site is recommended. When updating the firmware make sure you download the right version number for your router. If performing a firmware upgrade, make sure to do a hard reset afterwards and reconfigure the router.

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If you think there's a problem, bring the phone to Apple for evaluation.

I dropped my iPod, now it won't get out of recovery mode! If i don't connect it to the mac, it has the msg in 4 languages saying "connect to your computer. Use iTunes to restore". When i connect it to mac, and itunes is open, it says ipod needs to be restored, so i press the restore button, the progress bar starts moving but never finishes, like it's frozen.

With a corrupt disk, the install procedure is most likely going to fail.
How old it the disk?
You might be able to reformat it to fix the problem. Of course that means you lose all of your data.
The other alternative is to get a new disk drive and put that in your Mac and install OS X
Then put the old disk drive in an enclosure and see what can be recovered from it.

MacBook 2010 won't get past loading screen

Hi everyone. I don't live anywhere near an apple store so am hoping I can get some help here. My MacBook won't get past the initial White loading screen with the grey apple logo. A loading bar (which I've never seen before) comes up, loads about 1/5 of the way, disappears, comes back empty, does the same thing then my laptop turns off. About two weeks ago the battery stopped working without being plugged in and each time I turned it on it had reset the date to 01/01/2001. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The hard drive is damaged. Insert the Mac OS X DVD, press C key when your Mac starts, go to Utilities > Disk Utility and repair the drive. If it doesn't work, take the Mac to an Apple Store.

My iPad won't get get out of Recovery Mode

My iPad is in recovery mode, and it won't get out of it even its connected to itunes and I've clicked restore. Help to get out of it please. Thanks. (And I am upgrading it to ios 6 on itunes)

Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

Suddenly, my MBP Won't get an internet connection through my routers

I've had my MBP 15" 2.4 for about three months now, and I've never had a problem connecting to the internet. This morning I booted it up, but when I went to get on a wireless connection it would connect, but still say I had no internet. I have two routers in my house - the main one on one side, and my old iMac in my room (my room is too far from the main router to get signal), and the MBP won't get internet from either. However, as you can see by me posting this topic, I'm getting clear internet through the ethernet cable. An error message in connecting to the wireless signal has also appeared a few times. Lastly, my MBP is running very slowly this morning, and there's lots of lag for the track pad.
At first, I thought it was the main router's problem. But since the iMac's Airport isn't providing internet connection either, it leads me to believe it's something with the MBP. I'm not sure what to do, and I'd greatly appreciate any help I could get.

Sorry to hear about the signal dropping. I don't have a solution but would like hear if anyone has an idea what's going on.
My situation is similar. I have an Airport Extreme (n) and the MBP would drop its connection to it randomly. I've gone to pains to change my phone from using any close freq to the wireless.

Just updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 7.1.2, and my phone won't get service

So I just went through the new software update, and since my phone has restarted it won't get service. A "Waiting for activation - this may take some time" message popped up after the reset, but nothing else. All I see is "Searching...".
I've never had this issue after an update, and I'm wondering if anyone else had this issue. Usually an activation would happen instantly, so I'm not sure what the issue is or how long I have to wait. Any help would be appreciated!

Try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that is in your User/Library/Preferences folder. Also download and run BatChmod on the iPhoto Library folder with the settings shown here, putting your administrator login name, long or short, in the owner and group sections. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field.
How many iPhoto Library folders do you have in the Pictures folder? if more than one find out which contains your photos and move the other(s) to the Desktop.
Now launch iPhoto with the Option depressed and, when asked, opt to locate an existing library. Navigate to the iPhoto Library folder remaining in the Pictures folder and select it. It should open.

Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .
Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.
Enter DFU mode without home button or Power Button | technoNix
Then try restoring on another computer.
Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

You may be having a hardware problem that you cannot resolve on your own. Nevertheless...
...hold down the command and R keys whilst booting to try to get to your Recovery partition. If you can, use Disk Utility to try to Verify your boot drive (usually named "Macintosh HD" unless you've renamed it). If the verification fails, try to repair your hard drive. If everything appears to be OK, restart.
If you can't get into your Recovery partition, your problem is likely hardware related. If so, keep your appointment and see what the Apple techs have to say.
