WRT54GC problems, cant access routher bios
the other day i was trying to change some of the options on the router page and my comp froze so had to restart, once i got back to the home screen i tried to log onto my router again and it keeps saying server timed out and unable to connect to the router. i did a ipconfig/all and it says that my default gateway has changed from 192.168.1.1 to 134.88.186.1 i try to type that in and it still wont let me to the log in screen for my router. but the wierd thing is that i still get internet through the router, but it wont let me into the screen. i tried to lower the secrutiy on in the internet options and i have no proxy's. ANY SUGGESTIONS THAT I CAN TRY?
Who is your Internet Service Provider?
The IP Address 134.88.186.1 you are getting is under wireless network connection or LAN ?
Are you trying to do the settings from Wireless Computer? Use the wired computer to do the settings.
If you are getting the IP Address 134.88.186.1 then, you might connected to some other network.Connect the computer to the router on Lan Port..Now check the IP address and default gateway and try to access the setup page.

Cant access to BIOS aftre HDD/SSD password!
Hello,
Today I set a HDD/SSD password to my Tecra A-11 (updated BIOS) and I am verry happy with that pas,but I cant enter to the BIOS after I enter my HDD/SSD passwor - I press F2,but the screen just go dark for a second or two and the system acts like just being restarted - starting Windows 7 Ultimate.
Please advice what have to be done so I can enter my BIOS again.
Thanks in advanceIf it thinks it has a BIOS or HDD password, there's no way to remove that without servicing. It sounds like it likely got damaged in the drop.

My Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard, had hard drive failure so I had to borrow a friends similar machine to access my iPhoto library ( 523 GB) on a 1TB drive after editing the photos and after exporting one folder of images the program quit and then asked me to repair which I tried hung up at 99% and would not open the event thumbnails . I have tried everything even trying to transfer the particular event from that library to a new library using iphoto manager just so I can export my project and send but still no success as it is telling me that it is getting no info from the library, I changed permissions on the drive ..still no success . I restarted Iphoto and it took hours to show the images but all events thumnails said "0" and it shows all the event cover photos as a gray photo with a palm tree in it or something . I tried rebuilding again this morning and the new library says "0" photos and a library size of 7.3 mb
I got my own Macbook 17in back yesterday and downloaded Mountain Lion to my machine and Iphoto 9.3
I tried to open the library which is 523 GB of images that used to work fine before getting an error message saying it needed to be repaired. I tried opening it with Iphoto 9.3 via I photo manager which told be that there were inconsistencies in the library and it needed to be repaired I chose that option and it is now the following day still "rebuilding thumbnails" since last night . This is a huge problem I have missed project deadlines and my income is severely affected by this situation of not being able to access my work. What can I do to fix this, access my files and export my overdue project at this point ?Terence I find it surprising that you would say use Iphoto Manager after saying that I used it to rebuild using it took me to 99% of the way and just hung. Its days later and the support at Fat Cat software emailed me asking a question and are apparently just as floored as I am with this malfunction ..I hope they are working feverishly to address this as my conclusion and solution is as follows :
Using the older version of Iphoto Library Manager when my machine asked me to upgrade and rebuild instead of the first aid function in Iphoto 9.3 did not help but actually corrupted my library and downloading the latest version did not help remedy it either. What I should have done and am now doing is using the Iphoto first Aid function in Mountain Lion and Iphoto 9.3 using option command to rebuild the entire library. So far it is working with no hangups ...it is now rebuilding image version number 6715 and counting with 33000+ images to go ..if this solution really rebuilds then that is the ONLY way to go with this issue which has cost me a lot of time and money in missed deadlines , lost income and lost business . Iphoto and Iphoto Library manager are normally great in what their purposes are and in ease of use and function but whenawry with compatibility in version software issues arise things go terribly awry and the tedious painstaking fixes available that go for days on end just do not cut it. -
LENOVO G50-30 stuck at lenovo logo and cant even enter bios

I yust got my lenovo G50-30 and wanted to install win 7 on it. after the first BsoD I went to bios and changed the AHCI to legacy mode. Got the same BsoD. After that I changed the Os mode from win 8 to win 7 ... loaded the factory default settings and putted from AHCI to legacy mode again.
After that the laptop turns on, but it stucks at lenovo logo. I cant access the bios anymore to make any other changes. If I insert a win7 instalation disc, it start to spin but with no sucess. also cant acess the boot options anymore.
Any help greatly apreciatedI suggest removing battery and AC, holding the power button for more than 15 seconds to reset the BIOS back to default settings then see if the issue remains.
Make sure to post the results.

GTX590 Cant access NVIDIA control panel Black screen after 10 mins
Hi,
I recently purchased an MSI GTX590 and encountered this problem " Cant access NVIDIA control panel Black screen after 10 mins". I am running Windows7 Ultimate SP1.
I did have an xfire setup of 2xHD6970's, I uninstalled all the old drivers then used driver sweeper to clean out any remaining folders, also uninstalling them from device manager.
Next I installed the latest version of drivers from the NVIDIA site only to find that I am stuck in safe mode resolutions for my screen I cant access the NVIDIA control panel as it is saying " You are not currently using a display attached to an Nvidia GPU ". In device manager it states that
"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) ".
I have now uninstalled and reinstalled about 6 different versions of drivers from NVIDIA including the latest BETA drivers which all have the same issue??????
I have also gone to the MSI site and downloaded their latest recommended drivers for the GTX590 NVIDIA Graphics Drivers Version 267.91 which are the only ones that seem to work as in it fixes the screen to the proper resolution and lets me into the NVIDIA control panel yet after about 10-15 mins the screen will go black or the computer will just freeze. Rebooting causes the same issue after 10-15mins
I have noticed a few others out there experiencing the same problem but no fixes as of yet any ideas??Thankyou for the reply,
Tested the card in another working machine capable of running and its fine I am sure the PSU I have is more than capable of running this card I ran 2 6970's in xfire on the same PSU and motherboard with no problems.
I am running it on an 40"BRAVIA LCD and am using the DVI to HDMI converter that came with the GTX590 and I have also tried it with an DVI to HDMI cable also.
The system is stable under the latest NVIDIA drivers but the display drivers aren't recognized under device manager and the screen resolution is still stuck in the safe mode size, they are shown up as having the same "error 43" and I still can't get access to the NVIDIA control panel.
I strongly believe this is a driver issue or an issue relating to software within windows. To give you a rundown on several things that I have tried to isolate or fix the issue with is in a list here:
1. Installed every different version of drivers on an fresh install of windows7 including the latest Beta drivers
2. Tried to run the GTX590 on another machine and it runs using windows7
3. Run different graphics card setup using the same PSU RAM and mb on windows7 no problems.
4. Run the gfx card on only 1 gpu no change.
5. Last step I will take is to install Windows7 without the SP1 as I have read elsewhere that similar problems have been fixed by doing this if that don't work might just sell my soul to the devil n see if he can fix it lol. -
Cant access BIOS on Satellite L40T-A202

Months ago i updated my Toshiba L40T-A202 laptop's bios. After the restart i cant seem to access the bios. I fixed it by jumping the jcmos in mobo. Now the problem occurrd again and i cant seem to fix it with the same fix i did.
Can someone help me? This latop was bought outside the country and i dont want to spend much cash and send it to repair shops.

Besides toshiba service station here is very far and as I've said I don't have the means of flying there. Anyway to answer your questions sir: Yes, it was successfully updated. I can see the toshiba screen at start-up but it is stuck there, hence I can't log into windows.
The stuck in toshiba screen already happened before, but fixed by jumping the cmos. But now the problem appeared again and jumping the cmos don't seem to work anymore.

The computer boots and operates normally .. but i want to disable the built in soundcard, to replace it with a better one.

Must be a Q8200 then. But which one exactly? There are three different revisions. In any case, if your really have BIOS v1.0, you need a BIOS Update to ensure proper CPU Support.

Hi Everyone,
I have had my pc for a few months now and i have been able to access my bios with no issues at all.
However, for a few days now my computer has skipped past the option to enter bios and just starts windows almost immediately. Everything ive tried to access it (ie press del or F8 etc when i power on) has not let me in. At start up the code 'A2' flashes up for a split second on a blank screen then windows starts up.
Does anyone have any ideas what I can do?

I'm guessing you forgot to grant ASDM (http/https) access to the IP addresses used by the VPN? Can you SSH? If not, that is your problem to solve first. -
i cant access firefox, everytime i try i get that windows can't find the file, i tried downloading it again but it still gave me the same message. the problem has nothign to do with my internet because it wonks on internet explorer and everythign is fine, my computer just can't access firefox for some reason. i tried uninstallign ti adn then installing it again, but that didnt work, i tried installing a different version and it still didnt work.
okay the exact message is" Windows cannot find 'C:\Program Files\Mozilla Forefox 4.0 Beta 1\firefox.exe'. make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.
Nothing happens after i install is the "Launch Firefox now" checkbox set, the same message comes up.
i usually start firefox from the shortcut i have on my desktop but when this happened i thought that the shortcut is the problem, but i went to the Mozilla firefox folder and tried it from there, but it didnt work. i also tried downloading different versions of firefox but that didnt work either.can you tell me the solution to "windows cant find firefox" error. thanks.

For some reason, there is a 1 inch thick black bar that appeared at the bottom of my screen. It shifted my whole screen upwards and now I cant access my top row apps. The ipod still works fine, but I cant figure out how to get it back to normal. Any ideas?
Try the sstandard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to fctory defaults/new IPod.
If y still have the problem then an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -
No access to BIOS on W530 after W7 64bit installation | W7 boots and works fine
Hello L'users
My fancy problem with my W530 DOS machine 2441-B32. Age: 2 weeks.
Bios was current (1.11) when I started installing W7 64bit. Before installation, I changed the BIOS setting to UEFI.
OS Installation seems to be fine, no error messages from the OS or ThinkVantage so far.
Funny is that I cannot access the BIOS any more.
Here comes the plot.
First message for about 5 seconds during boot procedure is:
"To interrupt normal startup, press Enter"
Problem: Pressing Enter does not interrupt the "normal" startup.
Second message for about a second is:
System BIOS shadowed
Video BIOS shadowed
BIOS Version: G5ET33W (1.11 )
Press <F1> to BIOS Setup.
Problems:
Pressing F1 does not lead to setup.
I did not manually shadow anything.
BIOS was not secured from me with a pwd.
Third message for about half a second is:
ThinkVantage Active Protection sensor diagnostics start. /
The fourth message is the start message from a booting W7.
What I have tried:
(1)
BIOS Update Utility
g5uj07us.exe
Executed under W7 says
BIOS image file is same as BIOS ROM
An update is not necessary at this time.
So it seems that the BIOS is accessible by this utility.
(2)
Starting from the DVD-ROM is not possible, I tried to boot from the DOS bootable BIOS FLASH CD, an OpenSuse DVD, DBAN.
I was thinking about erasing the HDD in an external USB docking, booting the W530 from the DOS bootable BIOS FLASH CD without a HDD installed, restoring the BIOS and trying another W7 install.
But: This is nearly the same what I did when I installed W7 the first time.
Any ideas? Does anybody here had the same problem?
