Wrt54gl still tells i touch and iPad they are in Chicago after I moved to New York

I recently moved from Chicago to upstate NY. My 9 month old wrt54gl works fine with one exception. Any iPad, itouch with a map application identifies that it is located at my old apartment in Evanston. I can find no entry on the setup pages to address this, and tech chat support claims there is no option to set location. All of the devices correctly locate themselves if I go to other wifi or networks in the area. Sure appreciate any thoughts. I've searched this and google sites, but results about location and mapping get me into issues more computer-pathway like. Thanks, Gary

The router is still the same router with the same hardware and the same hardware addresses. The hardware address is assigned during production into the hardware. It's not reset. It's always the same. It does not change. It IS reset.
Thus the router cannot simply changed its hardware address automatically. And it would not know to which address because it does not know which addresses have been used by Linksys and which not.
Also, it would be a very bad idea if it would change its address automatically. All your computers should recognize the difference and you would have to reconfigure your whole wireless network again. Now just assume, the router would accidentally think it has changed location (e.g. because your ISP made a major ISP network upgrade) and all of a sudden the whole wireless would not work properly anymore...
So again: it's a problem that your iPad does not have an GPS and does not know where it is and thus must use this service which has incorrect information. It's like you: you may be still listed in the telephone book of your old place although you have moved. If someone looks up your name they'll find you at your old place. It's not like because you have moved everything and everybody has been reset and you are only know at the new place and not at the old place anymore...
