WRT54GL weak cryptographie rejected by firefox 33 (sec_error_invalid_key)

Hello,
I am using a WRT54GL from a very long time.
But after upgrading to firefox 33, i have got the following error : sec_error_invalid_key while trying to access my router.
(option access forced via https is on)
The reason is that firefox now rejects weak key for SSL.
https://support.mozilla.org/fr/questions/1018618
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1084606
Is there a simple way to increase the length of the keys of the WRT54GL ?
Am I forced to go with DDWRT or Tomato ?
Thanks,
Oliver T.

I presume that Linksys maybe not be developing the WRT54 model anymore. WRT or Tomato would be a alternative suggestion or maybe time for a new router.
Good Luck.

  • I wish to upload a PDF file to my website but Firefox 3.6.12 reports it as type application/force-download and NOT application/pdf, WHY?

My website has been running for many months, and as part of the site users can upload PDF documents to share with others. The last successful upload was 5th Nov, but to-day my upload was rejected because Firefox returned the document type as application/force-download rather than application/pdf. Uploads work fine with IE8.
The site uses PHP to check extension and document type and, as I mentioned, has worked fine for many months. I have even attempted to upload the same document that succeeded on the 5th, but again Firefox returns application/force-download as the document type.
    Why the change?

    Just found a solution.
In Tools, Options, Application Firefox listed TWO options against Adobe Acrobat Documents; the apprliaction/pdf and application/force-download. I have deleted mimeTypes.rdf and allowed Firefox to re-create the file. All works as it should now!

  • A fix for the Mozilla Firefox SSL Certificate Validation Security Weakness vulnerability? This appears to be an issue with not revalidating certificates when loading HTTPS pages from cache.

We have to close vulnerabilities for PCI & Cybertrust certification. We have upgraded users running Firefox to version 7.0.1 but we are still receiving the message: Mozilla Firefox SSL Certificate Validation Security Weakness. Researching the issue, it appears to be related to certificates not being revalidated when loading HTTPS pages from cache. The bug report I found is:
Bug 660749 - Firefox doesn't (re)validate certificates when loading a HTTPS page from the cache

cookies.squite answer is Today at 5:15 PM .
    New profile, same problem.
We've already established it is not a add-ons problem but obviously there will be less add-ons in this new profile to help exclude.
Since there is two PC profiles on the PC, I tried the second profile, same problem. Used the RESET FF function on the second PC profile...same thing...even followed the instruct for uninstall &re-install...same problem.
    (3) different virus scanners, no hard core problems.
Suspect how I have something in Windows setup that no one else is using?

  • My Firefox no longer works, it will not go to any website and offers the message "The proxy server is rejecting connections". I had the same problem in IExplorer but was able to fix it. I did not choose a proxy server, ever. How do I fix this in Firefox?

I changed out my wireless router, from a Linksys to a Netgear. Everything seemed to work fine, but shortly afterward Firefox could not be used to find any websites, and gave me the message above. The same happened with Internet Explorer, but a tech representative for my ISP directed me to the page where "proxy server" was incorrectly checked and it fixed the problem. I don't know where to go in Firefox to find the same or a similar page. My laptop continued to work fine for some time after, but eventually developed the same problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, with no luck, and all desktop shortcuts based on Firefox are inoperative. I just keep getting the message that the proxy server is rejecting connections. Since I did not select a proxy server, I don't know how to deselect it.

No idea what "tried everything" means.
Here is how you troubleshoot a password problem.
Go to your email providers web mail page and verify that you have a working username and password by logging into your account there. If you cannot log in there, look for the link to reset your password. Your email password is administered with your email provider.
Once you have a working password you need to remove any stored passwords in Thunderbird and replace with the new, working password.
From the menu bar select''' Tools-Options-Security-Passwords-Stored Passwords'''
Remove the passwords for the problem account. Close Thunderbird and restart it. You will be asked for a password. Enter the new password.
No menu bar with Tools? Press the '''alt '''key.
FYI: Thunderbird settings are stored in a different file from the program. Removing the program and reinstalling just keeps you busy for a little while and rarely fixes anything. As you have seen the old settings are picked up when Thunderbird is reinstalled.

How do I get Firefox to DISPLAY a font as clear and clean as Word? I choose different fonts in Firefox and sizes and nothing really happens.

You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages:
    *NoSquint: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/

  • Cryptographic Library (IAIK) shows as "weak" strength in AS JAVA

I'm trying to debug a problem with the communication of the JAVA stack with another system (Apache).  I've noticed that in the Visual Admin under
    Dispatcher --> Libraries --> IAIKSecurity --> Info
    It lists
    "core_lib" as strength "weak" and
    "tcsecssl" as strength "weak"
I also see this under the Dispatcher --> services --> SSL Provider --> Additional Info tab.
    "IAIKSecurity" as "weak".
I have downloaded the unlimited strength IAIK (JCE) files and put them in the JRE.  I have also installed the SAP Cryptographic libraries on the UNIX level.  According to the NW07 docs, the IAIK was deployed on installation.  What is missing here?  Or is this normal?  Help is appreciated.

    Hi,
The policy files are located in archive files,
    <JDK_HOME>/jre/lib/security/local_policy.jar
    Executing,
    C:\j2sdk1.4.2_03>bin\jar -tvf C:\j2sdk1.4.2_01\jre\lib\security\local_policy.jar
in command line gives the list of local policy files.
The content of the META-INF/MANIFEST.MF file will give the jurisdiction policy in effect. Only when this file contains property Crypto-Strength: unlimited, they are "unlimited/full strength", otherwise they are "limited/full strength" jurisdiction policies.

  • Why does firefox reject google toolbar?

I upgraded to 5.0 and got a pop-up that comes up on every web site called "error console".I went back to 3.6.18 and now I find that firefox won't allow google toolbar.

You posted three weeks ago, perhaps Google upped their maxVer since, besides there is a 3.6.19 so the maxVers should really be 3.6.* but Google does not put their toolbar on addons, and possibly would be rejected for several reasons (proprietary code, not subject to review, not under their control), so it's hard to see that unless you actually install it. If you do have it back you need to start working on those workarounds.
'''The Google Toolbar is no longer supported by Google in Firefox 5 and up''', you may be able to get what you want from it for a limited time, the directions to install the Google Toolbar were posted before Google actually announced dropping support.

  • Firefox is rejecting too many certificates that (ugh) IE accepts.

I've been having this problem of rejecting certificates because the issuer is not recognized. I have it on Firefox 5.0.1. I had it on 5.0.
But IE works fine. The listed URL is just one of many. But most sites do work so it is just certain certificate issuers.

Rename the file cert8.db to cert8.db.old in the Firefox Profile Folder to remove all intermediate certificates that Firefox has stored by visiting secure websites.<br />
If that helped to solve the problem then you can remove the renamed file cert8.db.old unless you have user certificates that you may want to export first and import them in the new file.<br />
Otherwise you can restore the certificates by renaming (copying) the file back to cert8.db<br />

  • With Windows XP I have Firefox 4 and am trying to download Firefox 6 but it rejects saying I need Windows 2000 or newer

Tried several times to download Firefox 6 as upgrade to Firefox 4 and near end of download I get error message that I need Windows 2000 or newer. I have windows XP 2002. Cannot find error in my system.

This is typically caused when an add-on changes the user agent string (identifies the version of Firefox). To rectify this you can reset your user agent string.
    # Type '''about:config''' into the location bar and press enter
    # Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    # Locate the preference '''general.useragent.override''', right-click (or control-click) on it and select '''Reset''', this will set the user agent string back to the default in Firefox 4
There are other user agent string settings that may have been modified, but these are no longer used in Firefox 4. You can reset them if you want, for details see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Websites+or+add-ons+incorrectly+report+incompatible+browser

  • FIREFOX HAS REJECTED MY EMail ADDRESS AS MY USER NAME WHY?

Why cannot a User Name be the normal full E Mail Address?

Please update to Firefox 29 ([[Update Firefox to the latest version]])
I assume you are talking about the username for this site, and the reason for that being we don't want you to have the publicly visible username be something sensitive like an e-mail. Otherwise you'd start to get a lot of spam.

  • Firefox rejecting Smart Card certs over SSL 3.0

    Ladies and Gents,
We are running 32 bit Windows 7 Enterprise. I have a user that is trying to access a database through Mozilla Firefox. When he is prompted to enter his smart card/PIN he recieves the error:
"The page you are attempting to access requires your browser to have a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) client certificate that the Web server recognizes"
I have checked to make sure that SSL 3.0 is enabled and that the smart card is loaded under security devices.
I have tried exporting his certificated from IE9 (Which works fine with the database) and importing them into Firefox, no success.
The reason the user is trying to access through Firefox is for a more friendly user interface that the site only provides to Firefox.

This can be resolved by going to services and disabling Smart card

  • Cannot access Webmail on AT&T Yahoo site from Firefox--password rejected

Hi--Somehow Firefox contains something that blocks access to viewing email online for an sbcglobal.net account. This account is accessible via Safari. Suspect that a wrong password somehow is stuck in Firefox. Mac OS 10.6.8, with Mail 4.5 when not accessing vial the web. Need to access via the web occasionally to check spam folder. AT&T, of which sbcglobal.net is now a part, uses Yahoo servers for its e-mail clients. So the servers involved are Yahoo servers. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I don't believe it is you, or anything you have done. Many people are having issues with iCloud.com access, not the least of which is me.
You really have two options as I see it :
    1. Sit back, relax, and wait for the storm to pass.
    2. Contact AppleCare (if you have AppleCare on any device having problems) and be prepared to wait hours on hold (today, that is).
I am thinking option #1 is going to be the least stressful, so I am going to run with that.
