WRT54GS Says I'm Connected, but can't connect to the Internet on my Laptop
I have a Linksys Router connected to my desktop (running XP) and a laptop (running Windows 2000), as well as a wireless printer. I can get on the internet from my desktop, and my printer works fine. However when I try to use my laptop I can't get on the internet. I checked the status and everything is fine and everytime I check on "Find WLAN" it comes back and says you are successfully connected. All this happened after I connected my laptop in a hotel I recently stayed at. I am able to connect my laptop to any other unsecured sites, but not my secured site at home even though, again, it says I am successfully connected??? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you open the Maps app where does that say you are located?
For location the iPod uses the location of nearby routers that are in Apple's database of routers and their location. Thus it appears that Apple's database is incorrect. You do not have to be connected to the router, just within range.
Apple periodically updates their database based on information they obtain from iPhones, The iPhone has to have turned on the option to send info to Apple. no one has found another way to get the location of a router added/corrected.
You can confirm that by going to well-know place with wifi like Starbucks or McDonalds -
My PowerBook g4 says it's connected to the Internet and the Ethernet cable's plugged in, but every time I open Safari it says I'm not connected. What can I do to get Safari to get online?

My computer says it's connected to the internet, but I keep getting a message that my computer can't find the server. Could there be a problem with my computer's internet connection?
First, unplug the modem, for at least 10 secs., then unlpug you airport/ wifi/ then try to reconnect.
If it it does not not work, reconnect your modem, then reconnect your network utilites, use assistance. -

If you are the only user on your computer you probably don't have multiple user accounts set up and can disregard that. If you are using iTunes 11 go to View>Show Sidebar. Now see if your iPad appears under Devices on the left side when you connect it. If it does, click on the name of your iPad on the left side and your iTunes sync settings options will appear in folders with tabbed headings to the right.

I am trying to activate LR6 on a laptop that will not be connected to the internet. I have clicked on the link for offline activation, but it says to follow the instructions till it says "having trouble connecting to the internet". I never get there. How do I get it to generate the code that I can take to an internet enabled device so I can validate it?

Front Row says im not connected to the internet, But I am!
I go on Front row to watch some movie trailers and it says im not connected to the internet, but im posting this.
I have repaired permissions and reinstalled it and leopard.
What can I do?It looks indeed like there is a bug in the Leopard version of Front Row. I have the exact same problem, after having just installed Leopard in a new clean install. The trailer browsing feature worked just fine with Tiger, in this very same Intel mini, but now with Leopard and with the exact same network settings, it keeps nagging about a missing internet connection. I am using a pppoe / DSL line, and needless to say, my internet connection is working just fine.
But now, thanks to the hint above, I was able to get the movie trailers to work now. The trick, or should I say the workaround was to stop using the automatic setting configured by Leopard during installation, and setting up a new location, with the very same details. You don't have to delete anything, just add a new location and name it to your liking, then add your connection details, and you're all set.
So in short, apparently one should use a manually set location rather than the automatic mode. An annoying little bug really, but fortunately easy to fix.
Hopefully the boffins @Apple are reading these forums, and this little bug is to be fixed in 10.5.2 as well. That is, along with the Mail SMTP bug, which was also annoying but easy to fix, eventually. -

I have a new ipad, it says I am connected to the internet but will not work. When I attempt to go to a web sight the green bar moves 1/2 inch and nothing.
I have a used linksys router that I got from work. I tried connecting with a older ipad and every thing works correctly. any ideas?Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app

• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

I have read your post on how you are not able to access the Internet, and that the web browser keeps loading up. Are you using Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or FireFox? Does this issue occur when you use a different browser? Are you able to connect to the Internet using a different computer? Are you connecting your computer to a wireless or wired network? I would be happy to help you, but first I would encourage you to post your product number for your computer. I used to always use my personal hotspot and connect to the internet on my laptop. Then one day it stopped working. I updated my phone so my hotspot password changed, so I changed that in the properties. It now says it's connected to my iPhone and there's internet access, but when I try to do anything it says not connected.
It shows a connection. When using wifi n USB. I don't know how to connect using Bluetooth seeing what it says to do is totally different from my computer.
I do have a connection but I can only connect to some sites, I tried YouTube n nfl.com n they both worked but google, hotmail n Facebook said couldn't connect.
I tried using safari on my computer n like explorer I could only connect to a few different websites. -

I have the same issue...I called Adobe and they said that Acrobat 8 is not compatible with Windows 7 ...so I tried installing the suite again without Acrobat and still the same issue....does anyone know if this issue is resolved by getting the new CS5 suite??? Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
