WRT54GS v5.1 Download issues (web access is fine) - is my router dying??

Been having intermittant problems with this router for some time, usually a reboot will suffice. Web access will last all day long, but the second I start a download I pretty much always instantly lose my connection, and the computer will not recognise the router even after turning it off. I have to reboot the pc and the router and then things are fine again, until I try to download again.
I think my problems started when upgrading my virgin broadband to 10mb, although like I say it first it was brilliant and I could download at line speed (or at the restricted rate with virgin) for hours on end.
Is there any settings on the router which will help? I have tried capping speeds on my download manager but I still get dropout.
Is there a newer firmware? Am using

Am all out of ideas, I have variously thought it was interferance from my wii or my ps3, or even from a windows program like skype.
Virgin are giving away routers if I upgrade my connection, if this is the likely cause I would consider doing this. after all the router is quite old now and isn't really fulfilling my meda streaming needs (PC >> PS3) either. Or rather - it drops those connections too.
Why haven't linksys given more support to this router, no firmware upgrade for 30 months is shocking IMO

Well Version 5 Firmware will not work with your router, The firmware version which is available on the linksys website is an old firmware, but still you need to re-flash the firmware on your router, as your router is dropping its connectivity and you are facing the problem while downloading. So you need to download the firmware for 5.1 and once you download it and Upgrade the firmware of your router, you need to Press and hold the reset button for 60 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 60 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router..

WRT54G Problems with internet, help, used to be fine on old router

I've bought this router yesterday and have 4 major problems with it ( I've had a cheap router before this and all these problems didn't occur when I use that old router again):
1: I can't access some sites like gamershell or nvidia.com, while they DO load up with a proxy.
2: I can't download from at least half the sites on the www, for example everything from microsoft.com times out.
3: This disconnects after like 5 mins after starting a p2p program. Why is this thing not able to keep my connection alive ?
4: A lot of sites load slower, my internet speed is same, but it somehow now takes ages for some sites to respond after ticking in their adress or clicking on a link.
I'm Cabled to the router, the router is plugged to an old ADSL isdn speedthouch home modem from Alcatel ( 5 years old the modem is), I'm connected with it with PPTP.
Its a version 7 WRT54G router.
( my isp is planet NL, I'm on a 6mb down 1 mb up connection)
Help! Why does this disconnect with p2p, the cheap old router used to be fine 24/7 with p2p.

Go to the Setup page and look for the setting called MTU....set it to 1300 and save the settings.... close the browser.... turn off your router by unplugging it from the power.... turn it on after 15 secs then try getting online again.........
Check if you can access the sites afterwards..

Issue with Excel Web Access --Excel graph showing only gray color

I am using "Excel Web Access" Web Parts to show the excel graphs in my MOSS2007 setup. I have multiple team sites under one site-collection. Excel web access is fine for all the team sites but , its showing only gray color for just one site. I tried to upload
new excel sheet with different graphs but still it shows the same gray color.
Any help would be really appreciated.

Can't download files on Android from Server 2012 Essentials Remote Web Access

I have two servers, one with Windows Server 2012 Essentials, and the other SBS 2011. Employees like using Remote Web Access to log in from anywhere and have access to shared folders. It works perfect on a Desktop computer, but when they try to
use their Android tablets or phones, and want to download a file (e.g. a PDF) from one of the shared folders on the server, the download fails. When Microsoft was pushing 2012 they said RWA worked great on mobile devices, do I have to set up something
separately to make this happen?
I've completely disabled the firewall, and have ports 80,443,987, and 1723(just to be safe) all forwarded to the server.
I can log into the RWA site on the android, browse files and folders, but when I select a PDF to download, the download shows as if it's starting, shows in my android notification as if its going to start downloading (Shows MobileDownload www.mydomain.com)
but eventually after a few minutes, will time out and show "Download Unsuccessful".
Network connectivity is fine as I can do this on a Windows Desktop PC using any browser (Chrome, Firefox, IE) and successfully download anything I want.
UPDATE: I found this in the event handler when I tried to download something from a mobile device...

encounter this same issue? If you download different type files, will still this issue persists? You can upload a small file (such as a text file) to the share folder, then check if Android device can’t download it.
Based on your description, when logon a desktop computer, you will download files via RWA successfully. Please use the user account which logon computer to logon
the Android device, will still fail to download?
Please check if there has enough free space in Android devices that be used to save download.
When this issue occurred, please check the state of Android device in Dashboard. Besides, I suggest you should run the Best Practices Analyzer (BPA) and fix all
it can find. Then monitor the result.

Cannot view OWA email - after upgrade to Firefox 5.0, Outlook Web Access displays ASCII characters (garbage) in message body. Same issue with multiple servers.

Email body of HTML or RTF messages are rendered in ASCII characters after upgrading to Firefox 5 when viewing email in MS Outlook Web Access (OWA) light from MS Exchange 2007 servers. Issue is repeatable with two entirely different Exchange systems.
Text email renders OK. Work around is to forward email (in use MS-IE).

(1) You say you did the symbolic link. I will assume this is set correctly; it's very important that it is.
(2) I don't know what you mean by "Been feeding the [email protected] for several weeks now, 700 emails each day at least." After the initial training period, SpamAssassin doesn't learn from mail it has already processed correctly. At this point, you only need to teach SpamAssassin when it is wrong. [email protected] should only be getting spam that is being passed as clean. Likewise, [email protected] should only be getting legitimate mail that is being flagged as junk. You are redirecting mail to both [email protected] and [email protected] ... right? SpamAssassin needs both.
(3) Next, as I said before, you need to implement those "Frontline spam defense for Mac OS X Server." Once you have that done and issue "postfix reload" you can look at your SMTP log in Server Admin and watch as Postfix blocks one piece of junk mail after another. It's kind of cool.
(4) Add some SARE rules:

SAP Web Access Issues

Hello Experts,
I have been given a link for SAP Web Access. I am able to access transactions and post data and write programs. However, none of the GUI functionality is working and is giving shorts dumps when i click on the layout tab for Adobe, Internal error for form painter in smartforms and a file not found error for layout editor for screen painter. I raised this issue with the Ides team but they do not have a resolution for it and they too get the same error on all of there systems.
Has anybody enocountered this issue before and if so could you please give me some direction.
One point is that for an existing Adobe form i'm able to successfully execute it and display the form.

I can access another server with http://FQDN:50000, It will show the screen of SAP Web Application Portal.
After I check parameter icm/host_name_full , I did not maintain anything, it is working fine.
Why in ERP system, I did not maintain anything like that server, I have only maintain FQDN, It is not working and did not show anything. Pls suggest me how to solve it.

Remote Web Access (remote desktop gateway) issue with WHS2011

I have been using Remote Web Access on my Windows Home Server 2011 for several years with no problems. Over the past several weeks, though, I have been receiving an error when I try to connect to a computer through WHS's Remote Web Access:
"...the Remote Desktop Gateway is temporarily unavailable." Interestingly, when I try to connect from a Windows 8.1 computer, I just get a dialog box that says "Initiating connection," but the connection is never established. I cannot
find any relevant errors in any of the event logs.
I have read numerous articles relating to WHS configuration and port forwarding, but these do not have any information that addresses my situation. I have ports 4125, 80, and 443 forwarded to my Home Server. As I said, everything has been working fine with
this configuration until several weeks ago -- I suspect it might have something to do with a .NET Framework 4.5 update that was recently installed (and that has now been uninstalled), but that is the only change I can think of.

As you have commented that after installing .Net framework you are facing this issue. So after uninstalling still you are facing the same issue. Apart from installing .Net framework 4.5, have you installed or done any other change on your server?
Here you can check that “Remote Gateway Service” is running. Please check and restart the service if it’s stop. Apart you can check below 2 article for more detail step.
1. Can’t connect to the remote computer because the Remote Desktop Gateway server is temporarily unavailable error via SBS 2011

WRT54G V3.0 Web Access

I have a v3 wr54g router.
I have changed default pw
I cannot connect to it remotely.
I am using latest firmware 4.2 [I believe} from linksys.
I have tried resetting the router, it still will not let me connect remotely.
Is there an issue with the firmware? or could my router be going out?
I have double checked the pw and ip address.
I think that this web access problem i also the problem behind me not being able to connect to my Radmin server on my desktop via the internet.

As you are using Sudden Link DSl connection ..... try this settings ....
1. Reset the router
2. Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds.
3. Then, unplug the power keep holding down the reset button for
another 30 Seconds.
4. Plug back the power back in, and keep holding down the reset button
for 30 Seconds.
5. Release the reset button.
6. Please access the setup page of the router by launching an Explorer and type on the address bar, 192.168.1.1 and press enter. It shows the username and password screen leave the username blank & provide password as “admin "" all in lower cases and then click on ok.
On the main setup page select the "Internet Connection Type"
as "PPPoE”. Then provide the username and password provided by your ISP
(Internet service provider) for your connection ......click on the Save Settings button.
7. Click "Status" ...click connect & is will show valid Ip address ....
If so try going online....

i reached NOTE732911 and saw:
"1. You are using Windows NT authentication for the Exchange server"
but our exchange is setup on W Server 2003, is that mean the NOTE 732911 cannot reach my requirement.
i've alse finished all the steps the NOTE mentioned, but what i see is still a login page ...
any suggestion?

Adobe CS4 Web Standard Download Issues

Hi, i own a key for the product Adobe CS4 Web Standard and would like to download it as I have recently reinstalled windows on my computer.
I have unfortunately lost the install dvd and require a download. However there is no link to download CS4 Web Standard to be found even in the "Downloads for Older Versions" page you've hidden deep within your website.
I would like a download link to this software as I have purchased it and require to use it for my work.

I don't understand why everything but Web Standard is listed to download.
Those files are trial versions which are always Premium versions of the product.
Likewise Design Standard is not a separate download - you download Design Premium.
I have no idea why your Web Standard serial number will not work in the Premium installer.

One other thing to check is that iptables on your Oracle VM Manager box/vm is not blocking the Oracle VM Manager UI, to test type /sbin/iptables status, if iptables running turn it off by typing /sbin/iptables stop.

Very slow reponse times in 2012 Remote Web Access

Hi all,
I am having an issue on one of our customers 2012 servers.
All of a sudden logging into RWA is taking around 2 minutes. It takes even longer once you have logged in to wait for the rdp links to download for the end user's PCs.
I have tested this internally and get the same issue. So far I have tried:
- Trying locally
- Created a new test user with no assigned policies or anywhere access to documents and PCs (no result)
- Rebooted the server
- Restarted IIS services
- DisableTaskOffload DWORD value in the registry (as seen on another post)
- Their internet lines are fine
- No apparent performance issues on the box (physical server)
- Only event logs issue I am seeing seems to be
Remote Desktop Services has taken too long to load the user configuration from server \\server.domain.local for user USERNAME
- Could this be related?
Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated as the home users cannot currently connect onto their PC's.

What’s the client OS and RDP version you are using?
I suggest here to update the client RDP v8.1 and check the result.
Does web access run smoothly after getting successful logon? Or facing delay in that part also?
Have you check the ping to the server successful without any delay?
For more troubleshooting you can check with NetMon or Perfmon tools to check the internal part and see the result.

Small Business Server 2011 Remote Web Access RDP doesn't work.

I have setup Windows small business server 2011 and a separate Terminal Server on a Windows Server 2008 r2 box.
Remote Web Access webpage works fine, I can check email and view network drives online. The problem I have is that I cannot connect to any computer using the Connect button.
When I click connect button, a file is downloaded. e.g. QITS.Rdp is downloaded.
Once I run the QITS.rdp, it will ask me for credentials. I input it and will get the following error.
I do not know where to start to look for this problem. Anyone can shed some light?

Just an addition. Did you use an administrator account to logon the RWA and then connect to the remote computer?
