  • Bluetooth not working iMac and Samsung phone

I tried connecting my wife's samsung phone with iMac throught bluetooth.
They are paired, but when I tried to use the function "browse device" or something like that on iMac so that I can transfer files from Samsung phone to iMac, the connection keep dropping after 1 second.
When I tried going to the phone and choose a file to send over to iMac, it works. After sending the file, the connection "disconnect" again.
    How to solve this problem?
    Thanks.

hi mate, sorry to hear of your problems. in this case, you will need to liaise with Nokia in your country directly regarding the warranty and issues you have been having with your local Nokia Care outlet.

  • Cinema 20 and Samsung T240HD problem

I have a Apple Cinema Display 20 and a Samsung T240HD connected to my G4 MDD Dual 1.25. The Cinema is connected to the ADC connector and the Samsung to the DVI connector of a Radeon 9000 Pro Graphics card. The Samsung is connected via a DVI to DVI cable. The Samsung was a plug and play installation and connects at 1920 x 1200, as it should. All works well and looks good except about 50 percent of the time when a dragged window spans both monitors the Samsung goes completely black until the dragged window is completely on one monitor or the other. Is this a driver issue or a hardware problem with the Samsung? Any suggestions appreciated.

As a troubleshooting measure, it would be interesting to set the primary monitor to the opposite of however it is set now, e.g. if the menu bar is atop the Cinema, move it to the Samsung. Then see if either the problem goes away or if the Cinema starts going black instead under the described circumstance.
Just from the sounds of it, I am guessing a driver issue. It's hard to imagine how this could be a problem with a display, though it can't be ruled out for certain. Ideal would be if you could beg or borrow a 23" Cinema and substitute it for the Samsung for a while and see if the problem is in the 23" as well. That would call out the problem being somewhere with the Mac for sure.

  • WRT54G Ver. 6 Wireless Access Problem

This router had been working but started having problems and dropping me off the internet via the wired connection to my ISP's modem.  I disconnected the WRT54G and connected directly to the modem and everything worked okay.   Based on Linksys troubleshooting web link I upgraded the firmware.  After this I had to go back and setup the router again.  It works fine now as a hardwired router but now I can't access the router thru its wireless capability with any of my computers or handhelds.   It was working fine wirelessly before.
I've set everything up like it was with WEP passphrase, etc.  I did change the passphrase and so the key is different, but I've changed this on the Palm and the Laptops to match.
When trying to access it from any of the devices I see it in the list, it will try and connect but and the message appears "Obtainaing IP address..." but it never gets it and the connection fails.  This happens on my Palm, and two laptops.

Thanks for the assistance.   I am using a Palm PDA and couldn't get it to work for the life of me.  Ends up after checking with Linksys's live session (that really works great) I was convinced the problem was not the router.   So I contacted Palm and through their live session I found out I needed to delete my old connection configuration and re-start from scratch creating a new one.   Apparently the old setup configuration on a Palm PDA keeps some old data that was messing me up.  It worked fine after re-adding the new logon configuration.
If anything I've learned quite abit about my router and my PDA.
    thanks again...

    I have software version 1.42.2 and a wrt54G v1.1

Hi.. Try to change the wireless channel to 6, 9 or 11. Also change beacon interval to 50 and fragmentation and RTS thresholds to 2304. Well you seems to have very old fimrware on your router. I believe linksys has come out with version 4.30.5. You can also try to upgrade the firmware on your router.

  • Stumped on WRT54G ver 5. and cablemodem

The 54G has the latest firmware, cable modem is a 60678EU, and is somewhat generic but recommend by my internet provider. Works fine when connected to my PC directly or to any other wireless point devices.  Using IP 01, and 1.1..  Have tried allot of solutions already.  Always seems to be a matter of DNS just not getting pulled into the 54G from the cable modem.  Getting internet cannot be found..The 54g is new, and I've returned it to the store a few times.
The cable internet provider supports DHCP, and the DHCP on the cable modem works fine, just not to the Linksys device.  I've tried the Easylink method, always goes back to powercycle because the internet cannot be found.  The internet light comes on.

    Hi
Try it this way before you resort to phone support.
Go to the router setup page.
     1. Open a browser. Type in the address bar 192.168.1.1
     2. When prompted for a username and a password, leave the username blank and type admin for the password (admin is the default password).
     3. You should now be on the setup page. Select the Setup tab then select the MAC Address Clone. Select enable and type in your PC's MAC address (the one that can go online w/out the router). Save settings.
     4. To check the MAC address of the PC, click Start-Run-type in cmd.
     5. On the black window, type in ipconfig/all. And then look for the MAC address.
    Just helping out...

  • N97 and speaker phone problem...

just curious here...I'd read this topic sometime ago, in regard N97 have some sort of speaker phone issue for the other party you're phoning with do not hear your voice very clearly and get intermitten cut off???
do/does anyone have this issue or it's just me???

Ross, i'm not sure, but here in the states AT&T refers iPhone users to contact Apple for tech support, etc.
You may try restoring the iPhone using iTunes and or restoring most settings in Preferences. That may help. Some have found fixes by removing the SIM card (iphone off), and reinserting it...
My first guess would be a software issue. Aside from that... you'd have to contact Apple and have them send you a new one if you're nowhere near an Apple store in the UK.

  • WRT54G ver 6 and Wireless B Card not connecting....

I am about to literally throw this router out the front door. I bought this one because my other one quit working and now after a very long time trying I STILL cannot get these things to work. I had a Netgear for a long time but it recently stopped working to I bought a Linksys router to go along with my wireless card.  I cannot for figure this thing out! Any help would be great!
    I am using:
    WRT54G version 6
    Bellsouth ISP
    WPC11 wireless B Card
I have an internet connection when the modem only is plugged to my computer but not when the router is hooked up. I have checked and double checked all the connections and they are correct. My wireless card on my laptop says it has good strength and is connected to the access point but the internet connection cannot be found.
I have read over almost all of these threads and still cannot figure out why my internet will not work with the router. I think it has something to do with the IP addresses but I can't figure it out.....
I have tried to use the IP address 192.168.1.1 instead of the CD with no success. I have deleted any other connections and my dial up connection. I have changed the channell also to 11. I turned off the firewalls too.  I even tried the "EasyLink Connect" tool and it could not recognize the router either. What else should I try??
Now when I try the http://192.168.1.1 link it does not work either.....  It will not ping either.
    Thanks for any help!

    1) Remove the modem from the set-up temporarily.
    2) Connect ur computer directly to port 1 of the router
    3) Press the reset button of the router for 30 seconds
    4) Open up internet explorer and type in 192.168.1.1 on the address bar.
    5) username leave it blank password: admin
    6) Look for the LAN IP Address  w/c is set to the default value 192.168.1.1
    7) Change this one to 192.168.2.1  then save settings.
    8) Exit out of the page
    9) Connect the modem to the internet port of the router.
    10) turn off the devices in the ff order:
    ► PC
    ► router
    ► modem
    11) turn them on in the ff order
    ►modem
    ►router
    ►PC

  • WRT54G Ver 2.0 IP Address Problem

I've had this Wireless router for almost a year I want to say and for the most part its worked great.  Until recently when my ISP has been disconnecting me for some reason and I need to Power Cycle my Modem/Router/Computers.  I'm trying to Remote Desktop into my PC at home so Port Forwarding is a issue when I power cycle.  Everytime I Power Cycle my PC gets a diffrent IP address so I have to go in and change the Port in the Router to Foward.  For some reason this has stopped working altogether.  I can Check my IP address WAN/LAN along with make sure my port is forwarding and all the sudden I no longer can Remote Desktop into my PC while at school.
I have went so far as to try and staticly assing a IP address on my main PC and to no avail it looses internet connectivity to the outside world all together.  I do a IP address of 192.168.1.150 *Outside the DHCP Scope* and it will not communicate with the internet.  So I try 192.168.1.49 *Last IP address to be assigned DHCP wise* and still nothing.  So I figure ok maybe i need to use a IP address before the DHCP Scope and try 192.168.1.5 and still nothing.  I Enable/Disable the NIC to see if that will initialize it and nothing.  Reboot the PC and nothing.  No matter what I do I can not get remote desktop to work proper and I can not staticly assign a IP address.  Last night I went and installed the latest Firmware as of 5.25.3006 I believe was the date and still no luck this morning trying to Remote Desktop into the PC.

Hi , some minor thing that you may have overlooked here.....is the firmware the latest ? if not , upgrade to the latest version....that will take care of the connection dropping issue that you are facing...
when u assign a static IP , u say that u are unable to go online....no problem....this is what you do....assign a ststic IP to you PC outside the DHCP scope.....IP 192.168.1.25 subnet 255.255.255.0 ,gateway 192.168.1.1 .....now you will also have to assign a ststic DNS....my guess is that you have not been doing so and as a result not going online when assigning a static IP address.
go to the "status" page of the router , bote down the DNS entries that you have there and enter them under the preferred and alternate DNS servers.
Now forward port 3389 for the IP address (192.168.1.25) ....
let me know if this works for u.

    I beg to differ, amigo...
...but you're correct in saying that they're not generally available. You have to know where to find them. Evidently, you don't...and obviously I didn't either, or I wouldn't have asked. But I think I know how to find out where they are now.
Thanks again for your prompt replies.

  • WRT54G Ver.8 Problems

    Hey
I just got the WRT54G Ver.8 and i havent been able to set it up correctly.
1.the CD stops at step 8
2.i get nothing when i ping my IP address
3.My internet works when i dont have my router hooked up
someone help me before i start working on my punting technique on this thing

Okay…connect DSL modem to the internet port of router >> pc, reset the router about 15 seconds and power cycle the n/w by unplugging power cable of modem and router, power up the modem first and then router, open I.E on the computer and in the address bar type 192.168.1.1 it would ask for username and password, put “admin” as password without any username, click on the status tab check what Internet IP address are you getting, if you are getting 192.168.1.x, go to setup tab again and change LAN IP to 10.10.10.1 and save the settings and power cycle the n/w…check whether it works or not…

  • WRT54G Ver 7.0

I have WRT54G Ver 7 router  I bought linksys router and hassel as well
I have exhanged 2 routers with linksys the same version and they both have the same problem.

    Hi Fadeel,
I have exactly the same problem. My previous version (v2) broke down and I received a version 7 instead.
Took me some houres to figure out that the problems I had were caused by the router itself.
Also a long chatsession with Linksys USA and phonecalls with the local helpdesk. But Linksys people are very nice and helpfull, but do not always know were they are talking about, in my humble opinion. Got the advice to upgrade the firmware (there isn't any  ) while they knew what the version was.
I bought a (secondhand) version 2.2 and it is working fine now.
I expect that we will have a new firmwareversion soon, but we as customer are running a "User Acceptance Test" while we normally pay for the stuff. Not Cisco worthy!!
My version is a -EU one, yours too?
    Best regards, Rob.
