For a checklist see here.
Otherwise, please post the exact settings you use on the router for port forwarding, triggering and DMZ at the moment. Also check the status page on the router and make sure the router has a public IP address and not an address like 192.168.*.* or similiar (see the "Make sure the router has a direct connection to the internet" in the checklist above).

charlie368, Welcome to the discussion area!
Using AirPort Utility you can configure the AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) to forward the port(s) to the camera. However the camera will need to be assigned a local IP address. The default local IP addresses are in the 10.0.1.x range.
To get to the camera from the internet, you would use the IP address provided by your ISP. This is the one used by the WAN side of the AEBS.

  • Port fowarding for linksys WVC54GC  Wireless G internet video camera

    Hi
I have recentlty installed a linksys WVC54GC Wireless G internet video camera. My plan to is to view the video from the internet. As part of the setup, I am using SOLOLINK DDNS service. The set up requires me to do port forwarding for the camera which is part my home network ..
I do not know the values to input for
    public port
    private port
with in the port mapping environment in the Air port express base stations.
Linksys suggests I open port 1024.. Can any one help me in the setup ..

    Thanks,
I have done the changes, It does answer the specific issues i had asked. However I am still unable to view my camera from the the internet.. I did some reading up and I think the problem is due to the IP address..
My AEBS assigns IP which looks like 10.0.1.1 .... In order avoid changing IP, i had assigned the camera with the static IP 10.0.1.252. This is outside the AEBS dynamic range. Hence when i access from internet, i get a message that server is not responding. it looks like this is not a valid IP from an external internet world... I have looked at the AEBS settings and found the actual IP in ther internet tab.. Should I assign the camera with the actual IP ??.. However that is DHCP, so I am a little lost ....

  • AEBS Port configuration for Bittorrent in Windows XP

So I've been using my AirPort Extreme Base station for a while now, and am really enjoying it. I have a Windows XP PC hooked up to it via a LAN and am using a MacBook Pro to connect to the internet wirelessly through the AEBS. I'd like to start using Bittorrent on my PC but, since it goes through the AEBS there are firewall issues and I need some information as to how to configure the ports on the AEBS to allow Bt through my firewall. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks,
    Scott
    Desktop PC   Windows XP

    Scott,
You need to set up something called Port Forwarding, Port Mapping, as it's called in the AirPort Admin Utility.
Fire up the AAU (in Applications/Utilities) on the MacBook Pro, select the AEBS, click Configure and click the Port Mapping tab. Then you need to Add a configuration, specifying the public port (BT default is 6881, but you can specify something different in your BT client), an IP address to forward it to (the IP address of your XP box), and a private port, using the same as for the public port is a good idea as your BT client will publish this and listen on this port.

  • Port Forwarding for Cisco camera WVC80N and AirPort Extreme

I have set up my camera to the Apple AirPort Extreme on a Windows 8 computer, but now get an error saying, "The setup wizard cannot set up TZO DDNS with your network for remote viewing." After clicking on the Learn How to Remotely View my Camera, it suggests I need to get Port Fowarding for my router" And iot suggests my router password is incorrect which it is not. Any help for a BEGINNER would be appreciated. I cannot find the IP address for the camera or my computer either.
Cisco support is NO help at all. ANY help would be appreciated. PLEASE MAKE IT SIMPLE. I can set it up on my MAC desktop also if that is better. Thanks so much

    Welcome to Apple's discussion groups.
According to the manual for that device (available here
    ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Multimedia/dcs920/Manual/dcs920manual100.zip
you should set the port number that the camera uses to something other than port 80. You'd then use AirPort Utility (the "Advanced" panel, "Port Mapping" tab) to map that TCP port and the camera's "private IP address" to a public TCP port. (I'm not sure what to use for "Service". You might try "Personal Web Sharing". It may also not matter once you chance the port number.) You'll need to know the WAN ("public") IP address of your AirPort Extreme. With that done you should be able to view the camera at that WAN IP address and the declared public port.

  • Port fowarding not working and Max Payne 3

I have had a proble with this game badly lagging and some things not being applied to my account while playing etc etc etc
Now the ports that I've already opened ( or seemingly not ) are :-
    UDP 6672
    UDP 27900
    UDP 27901
    443
I have put the Hub 3 ( 3A ) into DMZ, and when I go to an online port checking facility no matter which one it tells me that eaach of the ports are closed, and I'm still lagging in game etc
I'm not new to computers, just not done a lot of connection problems.I did the port forwarding via a BT tech rep over the phone, so there shouldn't be any problems with how it's been setup ( e.g me not putting in something should have been taken out of the equation ).
I've seen a few posts about the HH3a not doing as it should. So 2 questions here, can I ask/demand a HH3B, and is there the same problems with this as with the HH3A ?
If you have any other questions for me, be free to ask, but I might ask how to do some things
    Andy

After 4 telephone conversations , it appears that either there is something wrong with the HH3 Type A , and port forwarding isn't happening , or the HH3 doesn't allow me to see if the port forwards are concerned, which isn't very helpful either way.
Added to which BT are unable to send me out a HH3 Type B because  " they are undergoing testing at the moment, because there is a problem with them " , quote , unquote. It has taken these 4 phone calls to find this out, which could've been explained the first time, instead of just fobbing me off, saying the port fowards are done, when clearly as far as  online open port checkers are concerned, their not.
So, there isn't any way I can go back to the game developers technical help , until this problem is sorted.
I've put a post on another thread asking which router would be best for me to purchase, as this seems my only course of action, with BT just washing their hands of the situation, saying that although port forwarding is part of the HH3, it doesn't mean to say that it works, and they don't support it !
    Many thanks for any replies.

  • Creating a Server WITHOUT port fowarding

How do I make it so that a person can download the server.jar file, run it, and have people connect to it (socket 11114) without having to configure their router to foward that port. I know its possible because in professional games, people can connect to each other and the user doesnt have to use port fowarding.
    Thanks

Normally a client doesn't need to forward ports to connect to a server at all. A router usually prevents an arbitrary connection to a computer it's routing, since it may be routing many computers and the intended one may be impossible to identify unless pre-configured with the router. Connecting from the routed computer does not have this problem, so long as the server has its ports ready, except for the rare case where the router doubles as an anti-trojan firewall, in which case it needs to be configured accordingly, but that's really the client's problem(and fault, for enabling such a feature on the router in the first place, or actually picking out the extra-rare router that has such a feature on by default).
This simply requires that the client connects to the server, and never vice versa. This is okay for a connection-based protocol, like TCP.
For a datagram protocol like UDP, most modern routers tend to "remember" where routed computers sent a packet to, and use it to figure out where packets sent back should go, so as long as the client sends the first packet, and so long as the server sends replies within a certain timelimit(usually 60 seconds), it should work without any special port forwarding.
The few users using a router without that support would either have to configure their router, or use TCP only.

Hello IacsaP. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
    AEBSn - Port Mapping Setup
To setup port mapping on an 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn), either connect to the AEBSn's wireless network or temporarily connect directly, using an Ethernet cable, to one of the LAN port of the AEBSn, and then use the AirPort Utility, in Manual Setup, to make these settings:
    1. Reserve a DHCP-provided IP address for the host device.
    Internet > DHCP tab
o On the DHCP tab, click the "+" (Add) button to enter DHCP Reservations.
o Description: <enter the desired description of the host device>

  • Port Fowarding problems

OK,  I have a WRV200 wireless router.  My problem is with port fowarding.  It works fine off of a single ip address.  For example,  if I want to forward a port to 192.168.16.16 it wotks no problem but whatever a try to forward to another ip it doen't work.  For emaple we added a new server and want to forward port 5901 on it but it doesn't get forwarded.  If i istall the application to the other server and forward 5902 to that servers ip 192.168.16.16 it works.  Anybody have similar problems.  I have 3 of these out at client locations and all 3 act the same.  I just never noticed it because I only had to forward any ports to a single internal ip.

Did you try to update to the latest firmware?

  • WRT54G Setting static ip and port forwarding for Xbox360

1)This is my first post and I'm a little new at this. I have a WRT54G v5 router with the latest firmware update. I have the proper ports fowarded that I found on this site. I basically want full priority to my xbox360 because I have been having some lag issues and dropping out of rooms, especially when someone is on the computer. I set a static ip on the xbox, I just picked 192.168.1.36 (Is that an ok #?).
2)I have everything hardwired so I disabled 'wireless access web" under administration and I also disabled "wireless network mode" under the "Wireless" section. Is this correct or ok?? I don't want my neighbors or anything wireless accessing my router, will that do the trick?
3)I'm looking at the first page you see at the linksys config page (under setup) and I see a section that says
    Static DNS 1:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    Static DNS 2:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    Static DNS 3:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
My question is do I need to put the static ip that I assigned to my xbox in one of these static DNS entry spots??
4)Under: Applications & Gaming>QoS I set Ethernet port 4 (the one my xbox is on) to high priority. Is that all I need to do to get priority to the xbox over the computer? Or do I need to enter something under "Device Priority" such as device name, mac address, etc.? And do I need to enter something under "Application priority" such as: Application Name, Optimize Gaming Applications, Priority, and Speciific port #, etc.??
    5) Should I disable UPnP?
It's kind of a lot of questions but I really want to understand this fully, any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks alot!

  • Port Fowarding + Iomega Network Drive (port fowarding)

    Hi,
I have a WRT120N which is working fine. I just bought a IOMEGA network drive and found i had to port foward the router so i could acess it from outsite my private network. I did everything written here and the UPNP option wont work.
    http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Linksys/WRT120N/Iomega_Home_Media_Network_Har...
But still, it wont port fowart. I tested for ports here
    http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/
and the ports are closed. I cant acess it no matter what. What do i have to do for this to work
PLEASE HELP ME. ITS DRIVING ME NUTS.
    Dan

Bypass the router and connect your PC to the modem. Use your port checker and see if the ports are open. If the results come up as closed, then you will need to have these accessible from the modem. Otherwise, no amount of port forwarding, triggering or DMZ will get these ports to open on the router.

  • How do you set up Port Forwarding for ARD 2.2 in AEB N?

    Help,
I'm a novice at Apple Remote Desktop (ARD) - not an IT guy, so it has to be pretty basic and detailed.
How do you set up Port Forwarding for ARD 2.2 on the Apple Airport Extreme BS router, 802.11 N. I have one at each end of the internet connection. At one end I have an Airport Extreme N router with 2 macs and eventually 1 windows XP machine (if I can) that I would like to be able to connect to over the interenet (the clients) and at the other end, I have a Mac with ARD 2.2 installed also with an Airport Extreme N router. Note: Both routers use Static IP addresses and all computers use static IP's internally not through DHCP. What are the settings or directions to do this.
I have read and printed out the directions for Configuration of ARD 3.0 that are posted many times in the ARD discusion group, but it uses a Linksys router ( http://www.starkpr.com/ard.htm posted by Dave Sawyer). The Mac router is different, particularly with the place to set a Private IP address. I'm not sure about alot of things, but especially about the Private IP address, what number do I set it to, the one that is in my Network connections list? It automatically changes to a different number in AE N setup for Port Forwarding (by one) as if it is not suppose to the same?????
Are there any directions available that are as straight forward for the Airport Extreme N router, as the one's that are listed here for the Linksys Router's? ( http://www.starkpr.com/ard.htm )
Any and All help will be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I know I should have 3.0 but bought 2.2 just weeks before 3.0 came out and they would not give me an upgrade price, so I'm waiting for 4.0 to upgrade.
    Thanks,
    Jim
