WRT54Gv.5 new firmware crashes when airport card is used, after changing beacon interval

That basically says it: resetting the beacon interval to 50 and the RTS and fragmentation interval to 2304 worked beautifully for a week - and then, bam, we were right back where we started - namely that every time our new macbook joins the network (otherwise occupied only by a hp dv1000, running xp), the network crashes and i have to unplug the router, wait, and plug it back in to get the network back up again.

i hope you see this! i reset the values on the router which you told me to, and everything was great for a week, but then suddenly the network started going down again, two or three times a day, usually within 20 mins or so of the macbook airport joining the network.
do you have other recommendations? anyone else?

I use cisco VPN to connect to my work computer.
I can use RDC to connect to any computer on home network without issue.
Yesterday I changed to password on my work computer and now every time I try to log from my home computer RDC crashes.
I've disabled printing/clipboard on local devices and resourses, and I've deleted all the RDC cache files on the computer but I continue to have the same issues.

I didn’t found relevant settings in remote desktop connection manager, I checked the “Use multiple monitors when necessary” under tools->options, but seems like it is used for span a full screen over multiple monitors. For now I’d suggest figuring out
why your remote session keeps crushing.
I suspect the crash is not related to password changing, similar cases normally occurs after some local device driver, please try to disable the local printer in Remote desktop connection local resources first.

If the SIM is out of your phone, find my phone needs a data connection, so could use wifi - IF in range of a wifi and one that it can join (ie. a known network or one that is wholly open so no login required). Your phone could also simple be turned off, so not findable, or it may have been restored (plugged into iTunes and restored as new) again, making it permanently unfindable. Honestly, for someone stealing an iPhone, this is likely the first thing they do - restore as new and it is theirs forever.
Find my iPhone is tied to the users iCloud account - the find function is part of the iCloud account's services and it communicates with the iCloud servers over a data connection - either wifi or 3G.
Have you set up your iCloud account on your replacement phone, and is it working properly on that phone?

I suggets you contact the manufacturer. They may have a software update or a workaround.

You want to restore from the backup. Do not set up as new. You can read the article that Tom posted above, but it really is pretty simple.
Transfer any purchases from the old iPad into iTunes, backup the old iPad in iTunes and them sync one more time.
Connect the new iPad and when prompted during activation, restore from the backup that you just created and then sync with iTunes.
The new iPad should be identical to the old iPad, but you will have to enter some passwords again on the new device.

Why does RoboHelp 8 crash when compiling merged HTML help after deleting a child project in TOC? I would be grateful for any assistance.
Here's the situation:
-- I recently upgraded from RoboHelp X5 to RoboHelp 8. I upgraded my projects to RoboHelp 8 projects.
-- One large help system I manage is built such that there is one master project and about 25 child projects. Each of these is its own item in the master project TOC.
-- In RoboHelp X5 I never had any trouble deleting these.
-- However now in RoboHelp 8, whenever I delete one (by opening TOC pod, right-clicking on item in question, and clicking Delete), and proceed to "Generate Primary Layout" (MS HTML Help), the generation/compilation process proceeds as far as "Generating full-text search data" and then the whole program crashes!
Am I doing something wrong? Is there a bug in the software? I have installed patches 8.0.1 and 8.0.2.
Once again, I thank you in advance for any pointers.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) The error reporting facility as well as the software update facility also fail when using the airport card, since updating to 10.5.2, with 10.5.1 ist still worked until the crash .

New MacBook cant see Airport Card

Just bought a new MacBook "refurb" from the Apple store. It was running fine, and accessing wireless networks, but just last night, it stopped seeing the Airport Card. When you click on "turn airport on" in Network Preferences, or you click on the airport icon in the Menu bar, it says "No airport card installed". I have tried removing the airport preferences file and rebooting. I have tried repairing preferences and resetting the PRAM, just in case it is software related. Anyone had this problem, and what was the fix. I am afraid I'm going to have to send it back to Apple for repair.

Although, you can certainly try "troubleshooting" the AirPort Extreme built in your MacBook, since you just got it from Apple, I would strongly suggest that they take a look and make the necessary repairs.

My Imac (brand new) isnt recognizing my airport card!

Hello lets get down to business.
So yesterday i finally moved to a mac and everything worked perfectly. The airport card was getting the internet signal perfectly yet when i woke up this morning a horrible thing happened! my imac says (on the top bar) that there is no airport card installed!
I'm talking about the one which already comes inbuilt with the Imac by the way. So what do you think it is and can I fix it or do i have to send it back to the store to have it fixed there?

Not, you can't fix it yourself. Take the computer back where it was purchased. If you purchased it new, you can have it replaced within the first 14 days with no questions asked.

Windows XP Home freezes when airport card is disable

Hi everyone!
Problem like in the subject. If I disable airport card in Windows XP on my MacBook Pro 2.4 T7700 with Geforce, operating system dies (I used Boot Camp beta 1.3).
It won't start even in Emergency Mode, only in "last good configuration" mode with airport TURNED ON (of course)! If I remove the device everything is OK, but I can't go wireless when I need!
How to overcome this issue? Has enyone come across this issue?

New 27" iMac - No AirPort card installed

I just got my brand new 27" iMac today - big day for me as I'm switching to Mac from PC/Windows ...
Anyway, powered on and the AirPort card doesn't seem to be installed - the status thing, which I've managed to show, says "No AirPort card installed".
I'm aware that a couple of other people seem to have had the same issue and that it appears to be either the AirPort card being completely missed at build time or it not being seated properly. Re it not being seated properly, is this something I can check myself without blowing the warranty? I'm in IT so I'm comfortable doing it but not if my warranty will go out the window ...
What's the deal here? Is this a problem at the Apple factory that is common on the 27" iMacs? Does anyone know if Apple is aware of it?
With Apple supposedly being so awesome I'm pretty disappointed about this as I'm sure the vendor I got it from will say sure we can fix it but you've got to send it away ... after <24 hrs ownership.

Looks like this issue has hit its fair share of people. Spoke to Apple support today about the same issue. Brand new iMac 27' 2.8 quad core with 8gb of ram and I opened the box only to find my airport card was not recognized by OSX. After performing several support steps, the staff let me know that this was indeed a hardware related issue - I am not advocating this is everyone'e issue just mine.
Here is what we did to troubleshoot and determine it was hardware related.
Open system profiler / go to network and look at airport - if all you see is "software versions" your hardware is not recognized. You will need to reboot the system and clear the SMC. To do this do the following:
Unplug everything from your iMac and wait 60 seconds with absolutely nothing connected to it. After that, plug in your power cable and press the power button down, letting it go after 2 seconds. Immediately after the power button is let go - hold down option + apple + p + r you will hear 2 "bong" sounds, then let go of the keys and boot. If your hardware does not show up you will need to boot to the OSX install DVD to get a "clean" install of OSX.

Insert DVD
Shut down system
Power on system - hold down C key until you hear a chime then let go. System will boot to OSX install.
Once you pass all the prompts by selecting defaults, you will come to "Install MAC OSX" asking you to select the disk where you want to install. DO NOT CLICK INSTALL. Open Utilities / System profiler. If you still do not see anything under Airport other than software, your Airport card is bad or at the very least not showing up in the OS. If you do see the airport card there, you will need to reinstall the OS to have it recognize the card.
