WRT54GX v.2 Connection to Contivity VPN Times Out

I have a WRT54GX ver.2 that works fine with several wired and wireless computers in my home. When I try to connect my company-provided laptop, either wired to the router or wirelessly, it times out "Unable to connect". When I bypass the router and connect directly to the cable modem it works fine. What do I need to do, change settings, etc.? If you need additional information on my network or ? please tell me how to get what you need.
Thank you,
Dog tired.

Let me know the VPN settings Details .... such as Ip address & security settings ...

    Hi there,
There may be a conflict between the network settings and your devices. I would recommend taking a look at the article below and comparing that to your routers current settings.

  • WRT54G V6 VPN Times Out in 3 minutes

I have an WRT56G V6 and just started to have issues with accessing VPN. I worked about two months ago but when I returned from a long business trip I can not longer access my companies VPN using the Router. If I bypass the router I can connect.
It will typically connect and time out in about 3 minutes. The Companies IT director says that he sees the disconnect as a "user initiated disconnect".
    Anyone have ideas?

You should upgrade the Firmware on your router...Click here and download the Firmware...
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device: -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page.In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1
Leave username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...
Then, unplug the power cable while holding down the reset button for another 30 Seconds...
Plug the power cable back in, and keep holding down the reset button for another 30 Seconds...
Release the reset button...Now re-configure your router...It should not disconnect you from your VPN now...

  • Database connection not closing on time out

    Hi All,
Not sure if this is the right place for this question but..
I've moved my app (built using jdev10.1.2., adf bc's and jsp's) to an app server. For some reason, the database connection is not closing. I have 46 connections to the database and I''m the only one with the URL, not good.
So can anyone shed any light on this? I thought it should disconnect after a time out but its not.
Any ideas would be gratfully received.
    Thanks in advance

    or try this one..

  • MacAir- Wifii "connected" no loading or "time out" errors

I have a MacAir and all of the sudden the Wifii wouldn't connect to the wifii server at school.
Other students were having no issues.  It would say "time out" error.
Then it would connect to the guest network and full bars would show but wont load any pages.
My ipad is able to connect normally. Therefore it must be my OS on the MacAir.
If followed other support threads and reset the network but still having the same issue
I really need to get this fixed if possible, any help would be appreciated. Thank you~

  • Connection to Playstation Network Times Out

I have Westell G90-610015-20 DSL Modem. I have ASUS Wireless Router RT-N12 connected to it.

  • New iPad Air can't connect to iTunes; device "times out"; no error code given

my iMac (8 months old) is running 10.8.5 with latest version of iTunes.  When I try to connect my new iPaid Air with a cable, iTunes open, after a few seconds, a windows appears saying "iTunes cannot connect to the device named Peggy's iPad because device timed out".  no error code is given.  I have restarted my computer and the iPad various times and tried different USB ports on the iMac.  I am using the original lightning cable that came with the iPad to connect.  I didn't have this problem with my old iPad 2 or with my iPod touch.  I do not have any security software installed and no firewalls, etc.  Any suggestions on what is causing this problem?  Thanks.

You should repost this over in the "using iPad" forum.  The iPad gurus hang out there.  This is the MacBook Air forum.  Here is the link:

  • Itunes wont connect to itunes store-times out

I can use my itunes to listen to music just fine, it just wont let me access itunes store. The message I get is: itunes could not connect to the itunes store. The network connection has timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connects are active then try again... I have no idea why it quit working but it did! please help me!!!

There are three possible reasons that you would get a
    connection timeout trying to connect:
    1. The iTunes Store is really, really busy right
then. Try again later. If this happens all the time
(even times that should be calm, like late at night),
then this probably isn't the case.
    2. There's software on your computer that is
interrupting iTunes' ability to connect to the iTunes
Store. You can check for software conflicts by
    following the steps in this
    article.
    3. There's something up with your ISP that is
preventing you from connecting to the iTunes Store.
The best way to check for this is to try to connect
using a different internet connection. (Like, if you
have a laptop, using a public wireless access point.)
So the first two options didnt resolve it, what do you mean try opening with another? I have a laptop-so what should i do now?

  • Have just found a hickup on the Lion software 10.7.2 When using a access point that you name with letters that is only in Norwegian æøå you will loose connections and only get time out. So the solution will be to rename the access point.

Any solution beside to rename the wifi access point without the spesial Norwegian letters æøå?

Your points match mine pretty well, though here are some thoughts:
    1. I thought about this theory myself this morning (iTunes possibly causing more issues), but I haven't been able to verify it.
    2. When I set up a new user it seemed better for a while, but the issue croppped back up. Yesterday I fully wiped the machine and reinstalled from scratch. I did not reimport my user from TimeMachine, but the problem has come back. My thinking was that I might have some really old software or prefs hanging around causing the issue. No dice.
    3. This is my current theory of the issue, so my next step will be to pull the RAM from Crucial and see how the system behves. IF that doesn't eliminate the problem, I'll pull the factory installed RAM and replace it with the 3rd party RAM. The odd thing is how many people seem to have similar issues - I know two personally, and have seen several posts on forums. I think the most common point for this happening was the 10.7.2 update, which would point to software as the culprit.
    4. That matches my experience.
My hope is that this will be repaired in the forthcoming 10.7.3 release (current production version is 10.7.2), but otuside of what I noted above, I'm at a loss.

  • ITunes Connect times out when trying to deploy an iOS app

Ive been trying for the past hour to submit an app via xCode and as it trys to log into iTunes Connect I get a time out error.  Is anyone else realizing this issue?  Does anyone know whats happening and when we can expect it to be back up?

Probably a temporary outage on the backend. Try again and it will probably work.

  • 6.3.5 upgrade to 7.2.2 cant connect over remote VPN client

The device is a PIX 525 UR with v. 7.2.2 installed over 6.3.5. I have deleted all previous VPN setups and re-installed the remote vpn and client software multiple times and the VPN times out during securing the channel and comes back with a error: 412 the local client has disconnected the session. I have been using the ASDM VPN wizard to configure the VPN and upon submitting the config I recieve a warning saying the tunnel-group does not exist but then when I exit it shows up in the tunnel group and is listed in the CLI. Also in the debug logs iget the error: 3713902 Group = Eisenhower, IP = 166.214.197.X, Removing peer from peer table failed, no match!
I would appreicate any assisance with this attached is the relevent configuration.
    Thanks,

This document describes how to use the Cisco Adaptive Security Device Manager (ASDM) to configure authentication and authorization server groups on the Cisco PIX 500 Series Security Appliance. In this example, the server groups created are used by the policy of a VPN tunnel group to authenticate and authorize incoming users.

  • Connection time-out behind gateway

    Hello.
I'm trying to get my first Server install to work. I have DHCP distributing IPs, but connections on the LAN time out - although local machines get a local IP, they can't get to the web.
This is how I set it up:
Mac Mini with latest OSX Server, WAN comes from a cable modem and connects over Apple's (Macbook Air) USB Ethernet adapter, LAN connects through the built-in ethernet port over a switch. Several laptops connect over the LAN via wired ethernet. A wireless base station is planned to be added in bridge mode, but that's for later worry. I do not have a domain name associated with the server, nor does it have a static IP address; currently the server is not required to be accessed from outside (again, for later worry). The configuration is based on what the Gateway Setup Assistant configured. I modified the bootpd.plist as discussed elsewhere on this forum to get DHCP to work.
    Current situation:
DHCP now hands out local IPs like a charm, but... that's it. The local machines cannot get online. Their requests time out, Safari reports the server stopped responding. They can however access the Mac Mini server through file sharing, and http://server.local/. The Mac Mini itself is the only machine that gets online.
    To isolate the problem:
I've turned off both firewalls and little snitch, tried with the Gateway Setup Assistant configured 192.168.1.1 DNS server in the DHCP settings, tried with my provider's DNS servers in the DHCP settings, tried with the DNS server shut down, tried with my provider's DNS servers manually configured on the LAN machines. None of this had any affect.
I'm new to configuring OSX Server, and am severely lost.
    Thank you for your help!
    -Hagenaer

Never mind, I got this solved.
For one, I thought the firewall was blocking traffic, but switching it off actually harmed the situation. It had to be on because it performs a task needed for NAT to work. So I turned that back on, left it configured as is. The problem, luckily was very innocent: the local network interface (in network preferences) had no DNS server addresses configured, so it wasn't passing those on to the DHCP clients. I picked those up from the DHCP configured public network interface and all was good.
Next up: the real fun, configuring all the other services!
