WRT54GX2 rebooting when wireless enabled.

Hi Folks,
My WRT54GX2 is constantly rebooting when I enable the wireless function with all four hard cable ports full.
It will not reboot if I only plug in one hardwired computer and use 1 wireless computer.
If I use 2 wireless computers and 1 hardwaired computer, it will reboot every few minutes.
I can run as many hardwired connections as I want and everything will run fine (router + 10 port switch, etc.). But as soon as I enable the wireless function of the router it will constantly reboot until I unplug all of th e hardwired connections.
I've tried updating to the latest firmware and it didn't help.
Any suggestions?

Hey try resetting the router reset button in such a way that power
light is blinking on the router & then do a complete network power
cycle i.e., unplug the power cables from the modem & from the router &
then plug in the power cable to the modem first once all the lights are
solid green you could plug in the power cable to the router & check out
it will definately work!! & then reconfigure the router & it should work properly.

I'm using the linksys WRT54GS wireless router v5.1

The problem that I have is that everytime a new device connects to the Router wirelessly, the router reboots itself.
After the reboot, everything seems to be working fine. This becomes quite annoying when it comes to gaming and another family member turns on their laptop and then I get disconnected by the router because they are connecting.
What I have done upto now is reset the router after doing the FirmWare Version update and the problem still occurs. (The problem was still there even before I had done a FirmWare Update.)
Is there a way to solve this problem? because I have read about a few other problems just like mine on the forums and they don't seem to have been resolved.
Or will I have to go back to PCWORLD to see if I can get a refund / replacement?

I do not see a "keep alive" option. I use the Automatic Configuration - DHCP because I have connected, a CABLE MODEM provided by my cable provider Telewest Blueyonder
The router just reboots when the wireless laptops connect. The wired desktop (this PC) loses connection as it is rebooting and regains connection after the reboot. Then both PC and Laptop work fine.

Auto reboot when wireless turned on?

Using a Tecra M2-S530, running Windows XP. Found supposed solutions to this issue on this forum, but they are NOT working. Need further assistance. This Tecra goes into a looping reboot whenever I turn-on the wireless funtion. I've attempted to update the drivers with Toshiba downloads, but they are not working. Anyone have a solution?

Try this.
Open Device Manager (devmgmt.msc), expand Network adapters, and double-click the Intel wireless device to open its Properties.
On the Power Management tab, clear the check box for Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby.
While you're there, do the same for any other network adaptors.

Cannot connect when wireless security is enabled

I have a linksys wrt54g ver.6 wireless router. My Dell laptop running vista can connect wirelessly to the internet just fine when I have wireless security disabled on my wrt54g router.
When I enable security (I tried WEP) the network connection on my laptop fails and I see this message in vista’s “Connect to a network” window:
"The settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network"
Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!!!

Configure the wireless settings manually .....
Reboot the computer & see if it is connected to the network or not .....

WRT54G Strange connection issue when wireless security is enabled

The model # is WRT54G v2.2 with firmware 4.21.1. I knew that my internet connection was good because I connected my laptop directly to the wireless antenna. When the antenna is connected to my wireless router I can't connect, wired or wireless. I decided to reset the router and program back in the changes that I have made. I checked for internet connection after the reset, it's there. Made more changes, still good. Then when I enabled wireless security using WEP the wired and wireless internet connection goes away. Any ideas to fix this. Can I go back to the previous version of firmware?

hi... go to ftp.linksys.com/pub/network and try downloading older firmware for the router and downgrade the firmware, after that reset the router back to factory default settings and reconfigure it...

Reboot your router. You by chance dont have a netgear N300 WNR2000 router do you? I had one of those and would lose wifi on it constantly, Switched to a Cisco wifi router and it works much better.

Windows XP crashing when HT enabled

After explaining the problem i had with radeon 9700pro and MSI 865PE Neo2-LS now a new problem breaks my balls...
I installed windows XP pro on the same mobo and when i enable in the bios Hyper-threading the system reboots after 5 or 15 or 30 min...specially when i use IE or Mozzilla
I update my XP with all avaliable updates and also some other downloaded from web sites fixing the HT bug on XPs
Is my mobo damaged or Windows XPs r shitty...?

Why no signal when 3G enabled on iPhone 3GS

For the longest time I was always getting NO SIGNAL when I enabled 3G on my iphone 3GS. If I disabled 3G, then I got a great signal.
Just in case some one else is baffled by this problem, this is what consistently fixed the problem for me. BTW, I am using Airvoice wireless (an AT&T MVNO).
I called this 3G test mode #, and it fixed my problem.
1. Disable 3G in /Settings/General/Cellular
2. Wait for carrier signal w/o 3G
3. Dail 3001#12345# , this returns an error message
4. Enable 3G in /Settings/General/Cellular
5. Wait for carrier signal w/ 3G
Once this is done, I can power on and off at will and consistently get 3G service. I only have to repeat these steps if I restored phone to defaults. I have a few 3GS phones, and I only had this problem on some of them.

Kt3 ultra reboots when 1gb ddr memory is installed

My kt3 ultra mb reboots when more than 1gb ddr pc2100 samsung memory is installed. boots through when 1 512mb ddr is installed or 1 - 512mb ddr - 1 - 256 mb ddr - I want to put all (3) 512mb ddr for a total of 1.5GB but always reboots. Im running 98se o/s. I even tried win2000 and also xp home?? Any suggestions. ?? Please help??

WIN 9X will recognize more than 512 MB ram but doesnt know what to do with it.XP or 2000 should run any amount your board can take. I seem to remember from a forum, either here or AMDMB.com or HardOCP that with this board you should do 2 sticks in the first and 3rd slot. I also seem to remember that this board was one of the few that Anand at Anandtech reviewed that ran ok with all 3 slots filled with memory.I can run my Samsung PC 2700 at cas 2 fast settings with 1T command disabled all day long.With 1T enabled it's reboot city.Double check your settings with the setup sticky at the beginning of this forum.Maybe try other memory? GNOME 3.2 Notifications daemon fails when Wireless Card is disabled

I noticed that when starting up GNOME with the wireless card off, I get an error message saying that notifications don't work. When I enable the wireless power and restart GNOME, the errors go away. What do notifications have to do with wireless?

Try a reboot press & hold power button & menu until Apple Logo comes on then wait
you will not lose any data.
That may fix your problem.

IPhone reboots when coming out of low power mode

I have a consistent reboot coming out of sleep mode.
If I have wifi enabled and put the phone to sleep for a longer period of ( time > 10 min ) the phone will reboot when I wake it. This is with only waking it up and not going to any particular application.
If wifi is disabled the the phone doesn't reboot on wake.
If the sleep period is short the phone doesn't reboot

I had a similar issue. I would reboot when I tried just to wake it up. It would also power back up (with logo) if I received a text message or email, vibrate or ding, then when it went back to sleep it would power down after a few minutes. My wifi was always turned off at the time.
I took it to the Genius Bar on Saturday and they replaced it, but my service guy said he'd never seen that before.
What really irritates me is my replacement iPhone has the negative black issue on pics and video, so now I want to take THIS one back as well.
