WRT54GX2 reboots every 10 seconds

I have a linksys WRT54GX2 wireless router that reboots every 10 seconds. I've read that it's a firmware problem but how am I supposed to update the firmware from the interface in a matter of 10 seconds?

You can try updating the firmware using TFTP utility...BUt before you upgrade the firmware...Press and hold the reset button for 60 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...
Download the TFTP utility and save it on the dekstop.
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Double click the TFTP.exe file and click run.
For Server- Enter the IP Address of the router that you assigned.  By default, the router is 192.168.1.1...
For Password- Enter the password you assigned the router. By default, the router’s password is “admin”.
For File- Click the triple “…” button and browse for the .bin firmware file...
Click Upgrade button to start upgrading.  A progress bar should show up to show the progress.
Once the Upgrade is done press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

  • My iphone switches off and reboots every 30 seconds

My iPhone switches off and reboots every 30 seconds, has antone experienced this problem? It happened a couple of weeks ago and I took the sim card out , cleaned it and put it back. This solved the problem for about 2 weeks, but it doesnt help now

Well Solution 1 : Reset your modem and Restore your Iphone 4 as a new iphone and try and it still keeps you off
try with another modem and it still keeps you off then your wireless adaptor might crash and you need to go to apple store

  • X2200 and IB card causes reboot every 10 seconds

    Hi
we're currently facing a problem with x86 server and PCI Infiniband Adapter.
Sun as the IB card is in the slot, the server reboots every 10 seconds. This
causes the network connection to get lost (including ILOM). It is impossible
to boot the system (hence no OS could be installed ether). Sun as the IB card
is taken out the system works well.

What OS are will you be installing?
On our Infiniband cluster (v20z's with Infinicon IB cards), we first installed linux, then the Mellanox drivers (supplied by the IB vendor), then installed the cards. All has been well for over a year of uninterrupted uptime.
Sounds like the default OS installation (which would be Solaris) does not recognize the card and crashes.

  • IPad reboots every 2 seconds repeatedly

So my iPad 2 has been repeatedly rebooting its self every 2 seconds for the past two days. It doesn't seem to be getting any better. I would reset everything on settings, but I don't have enough time (given only 2 seconds every reboot). I don't know what to do! All of my school and social life is on there. I need to get to it for projects and school related papers. Please help!

Try a reset (hold the home and power keys down until the Apple logo appears).

  • Why is my CPU spiking, causing the desktop to reboot every few seconds?

I watch the CPU reading in the Disk Monitor spike in usage (from about 5% to 100%) every 30-90 seconds. Every time it does, the desktop reboots, taking me away from whatever program I am using to the Finder. What should I do?

  • G550 causes DLink router to reboot every 10 seconds

I have a new Lenovo G550, running Vista Home Premium 64-bit and a new DLink WBR-1310 wireless router. Each time the laptop connects to the router through either a wireless connection or a LAN cable connection the router crashes. Then the router rebooys, establishes a connection with the laptop, communication starts and the router crashes again. The cycle continues until I disconnect the laptop. The crash-reboot-crash cycle takes about 10 seconds.
I tested a different router. A TrendNet TEW-432BRP router. The same thing happens. The router crashes as soon as the laptop is able to communicate with the router.
I've taken the laptop to work where I used Microsoft Windows Update and Lenovo Update to ensure that all drivers on the laptop are updated. The only S/W on the laptop is Microsoft Office Pro 2007 and AVG-free (anti-virus) + the S/W that comes with the G550.
At work, the laptop does not crash the router. But at work it does not connect directly to the router. Instead it is connected by LAN cable through a Vonage VOIP system. Meaning the laptop is connected by a LAN cable to the Vonage VOIP unit. And the Vonage unit is connected by a LAN cable to the router.
I also tested the laptop at a couple of public and hotel wireless connections. The laptop is able to connect to these public wireless systems without causing them to crash.
Back at home, the DLink and TrendNet routers work OK with older computers running Windows XP Pro and Windows Vista Home Basic. The DLink also has the latest firmware. WBR-1310 H/W: B1, firmware 2.02.
AVG does not report any viruses and the AVG log file contains no record of finding one in the past.
The router has no custom settings. It is configured with factory defaults. The laptop's network connections (for the LAN and wireless connections) have no custom settings. The laptop's network connections are configured to obtain IP address and DNS server addresses automatically.
My theory about the problem = something in the communication between the laptop & router crashes the router. Perhaps there is something in Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit. Perhaps something in the Lenovo S/W.
    I am looking for help.
    Thank you.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I had this problem too.  Specifically a Dlink router (WBR-1310) and a Lenovo laptop (Y530) running Vista Home (32-bit).  It would show that my laptop connected to the network, then a few seconds later the connection would be down and it would continuously connect/disconnect.  My other system that was connected just fine through the router (running Windows 7) would get kicked off the network.  Connecting the Vista laptop directly to the cable modem, though, would work just fine.
Found this post, and it worked for me.  http://www.justanswer.com/questions/1wau3-bought-lenovo-laptop-y430
Just go into your Dlink configuration's Advanced tab, then the Advanced Network sub-tab.  Uncheck the UPnP (universal plug and play), save the settings, and let the router reboot.
Now both my systems (Vista and Windows 7) are happy and connected through the router.

  • Z97 Gaming 5 + i7 4770k + Corsair rm750 keeps rebooting every 3 sec

So this it, last night I've starting building the new PC.
When I try to switch it on, it just keeps rebooting every 3 second.
I can see the red audio boost and green leds switching on, the CPU fan just moving a bit.
I can hear a loud "CLICK-CLACK" on the on/off (coming from the PSU)
I don't hear any beep (case is an Obsidian 550d and I wonder if there's a speaker or something I should connect to hear beeps, or it's only an old thing)
I tried both with and without RAM (Kingston hyperx ddr3 2400  2x8gb).
Tried with one Dimm in slot2 too, and a few more combinations.
Not using any HDD nor a GFX Card at the moment.
Both JPWR1 and JPWR2 are correctly connected.
JFP1 stuff should be correctly connected (at least the power button is).
I'm basically desperade, because I don't know what else I should try.
edit: it actually keeps restarting every 3 seconds not 1

    HOLD ON!
Just checking the whole motherboard for bent pin as I read in another thread,
I found out that maybe I have a bent pin into the USB3.0 connector, that I haven't connected yet.
This is really the best pic I can provide sorry, but it might be visible on the left a missing pin ad one bent down (I think)
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/kvdq8pspck3bo4d/NewPCWip_usb3Pin.jpg
It's way too small for me to even try something there.
Could this be causing the problem?

  • WRT54GX2 Power cycles every 75 seconds

I have three wrt54gx2 v.1 wireless routers.  All three in different subnets but basically configured the same way with the exception of the ip addresses.  Two of the routers power cycle about every 75 seconds.  I backed up the configurations (in case a firmware upgrade went bad) and magically the router stopped power cycling.  I upgraded the firmware from v.1.01.14 to v. 1.01.21 not believing that backing up the configurations had anything to do with the problem.  The router rebooted after successfully completing the firmware upgrade and the intermittent power cycling started again at about the same time interval as before the upgrade.  Does this make any sense to anyone?  I've been through the forum and technical support but I can't seem to find anything with exactly the same symptoms.  Any help anyone can be would be appreciated immensely...this thing is driving me crazy.

After a firmware upgrade, you must reset the router to factory defaults, then setup the router again from scratch.  DO NOT use the configuration file that you saved.
The router's configuration file contains the router's initialization data, that is, the data that is read in when the router starts up.  If you have an error in this data, it can potentially cause bizarre router behavior.  This is the reason that you must setup the router again from scratch.
Please let me know whether or not this helped.

    hi there,
my iphone 4 turns off and on in each and every 5 seconds when ever i try to reboot and turn off. i was just trying to get ridge of this things. so culd u help me plz !!!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Phone reboots every 45-50 seconds, and asks for activation every time

For the last 45 minutes or so, my phone has been constantly rebooting and I have been reactivating it.  The phone cannot find my carrier (Verizon) and it claims that I have no signal with wifi connected, but still reboots after 45 seconds of use.  I am not really sure how to fix this problem, I have tried Airplane mode, taking off wifi, holding down the lock and home button until the white Apple logo appears again.  I just want to know what the issue is and how I can fix it!

Looks like you'll have to get it checked by visiting an Authorized Apple Service Provider or by contacting Apple Support or your carrier:

  • IPhone 5S keeps rebooting itself every 2 seconds

My phone died last night like it usually happens after a long day of usage and I thought nothing of it until I got home and tried charging it. After it came back on (apple logo came on the screen) it kept vibrating signaling that it was charging every two seconds, the screen then would go black and the apple logo would come back and the vibration indicating it was charging would come back on. There was one or two times when my lock screen would show up for a second or so but then it would go black and restart itself over and over and over and over again. I cant even get the lock screen to stay on the phone for longer than a second or two and it restarts itself again. So I then thought of plugging it into my computer to see what would happen and maybe even restoring it from a back up but it would not let me because I have to turn off find my iPhone... which I can't because I cant get it to stay on for longer than a **** second. iTunes does recognize my phone though and so does iPhoto but that's all I can do! I'm trying to let the phone COMPLETELY die as in it won't even notify me that it needs to be charged to see if that makes a difference but I have no clue what's going on nor why this is happening to me or what the solution is! I've tried holding down the home/power buttons but while it has battery all it does is keep restarting and while its dead it just tells me to plug it into a charger... any ideas?

You can turn off FindMyiPhone by logging in to icloud.com on a computer and turning it off there. If you can, try this procedure:
Turn your device off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your device and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a device in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.

  • Macbook pro Display freezes and darkens every few seconds

    Hey ,
I just bought my Macbook pro 15 inch late 2013 few months ago , I'm new to Apple products ,
My screen started freezing and darkening every 4 seconds , starting from when I power it , until I shut it down even If I don'tt run any programs
I can't move the cursor while it's freezing or do anything , but for example If I write any text , the text will show up when it unfreezes , and If I'm listening to music the sound doesn't freeze . I tried the safe mode , and reseting the PRAM and NVRAM , running disk utility in single user mode and said that everything is fine , I checked my hardware using apple hardware test and also said that everything is fine , I removed the flash player thinking that it may be the problem but nothing changed . I don't know what I'm doing because as I said I'm new to all of this but I tried random things and nothing seems to work , I would really appreciate any help .
PS. when I tried taking a screenshot of the screen when it freezes and darkens a little , it appeared normal in the screenshot .

After the PRAM reset did you reboot the MBP and the projector?
If not, connect and power up the projector, the power up MBP.
The monitor itself could be on the way out, is there another monitor you can check it on.
Another thing you can try is a VGA cable with the DVI adapter and see if that performs better.
You can also try a different cable, since it worked fine in the past, I'm just trying to help you.

  • 'revisiond' crashes every 10 seconds

    I recently updated from a 2010 MacBook Pro to a 2013 model four days ago. Aside from needing to re-index my mail to make searching possible, the transfer from my Time Machine backup seemed to go flawlessly. However, there's been a complication;
Several basic Apple programs — namely TextEdit and Preview — are hanging repeatedly and obnoxiously, especially when I try to save or close a file, but also on regular intervals while working with a document. It's not a problem with the SSD— boot time is ridiculously fast (under ten seconds) and any programs that don't use Apple's (atrocious) 'Versions' system are working flawlessly. Other software that employs Versions (for instance, textwrangler, which I tried when I discovered TextEdit was so problematic) are displaying the same behavior. I used Inkscape for three straight hours today without issue, OpenOffice ran all day without any notable issues, iTunes ran fine for hours, blender works great, Mail works fine, safari and chrome work just like they always did— Everything that uses the old file handling system is fine, and all programs that use Versions are giving me trouble. If not on load, then ten seconds later.
I consulted my console, and I'm sure you can imagine my horror to discover the following, repeated every ten seconds for almost as long as the computer's been on. It starts happening immediately after booting and does not stop until I shut the computer down.
    1/14/14 1:10:40.356 AM ReportCrash[24440]: Saved crash report for revisiond[24757] version 160.2 to /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/revisiond_2014-01-14-011040_MacBook-2.crash

    1/14/14 1:10:50.514 AM com.apple.launchd[1]: (com.apple.revisiond) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
From what I can tell, revisiond is the daemon responsible for organizing Versions revisions. I don't need or want Versions, since I'm perfectly capable of handling my own revision-saving when I need to, so I tried disabling it with a 'defaults write' command, only to discover that this creates new problems. (TextEdit couldn't even save a document at all after I ran that command, so I immediately reverted the preference to its original value, which restored the flawed, if partly functional, saving capability).
I didn't spend $3000 on a computer so I could sit and watch documents close for fifteen seconds, or so that something as basic as text-editing could bring an operating system running on an 8-thread i7 to a screeching hault. I've searched the issue extensively online, repaired my permissions several times, switched to a different user... I really shouldn't need to reset the SMC after four days of operation. The only thing left to do is do a clean install and manually recover every file I might need, but we're talking about an accumulation of 7 years worth of files. 540GB. I neither have the time nor the willpower to do that, and it's not even guaranteed to fix anything. (It almost definitely wouldn't, in fact; since my old computer, which is also running Mavericks, does not present the same problem.)
    The crash report associated with every console warning reads as follows (with the process number steadily climbing after a reboot, but everything else remaining roughly the same);

As soon as I get back to my time machine drive, I'm taking back the old version of text-edit, but I really want this fixed, since it also affects several other programs, and is soon to affect even more as more developers start adopting the new Apple standard. What can I do to make this problem go away?

Should have search little bit better, seems that the plugin "Bark" was the problem:

  • Audio not working / Video flashes to black every ~5 seconds

Hi. For some reason, when we turn on our TV as of late, every channel is having this issue where upon turning on, the video will flash to black every 5 seconds or so, and there is no audio. The only thing that solves the problem is unplugging and replugging in the STB (Motorola QIP7232-2).
I've replaced the HDMI cable with a new one. No dice.
Netflix via the X360 works without a hitch, so it's not the TV.
Scanning for repair/errors on the STB comes back with no issues detected.
Any reason why this is happening, and is anyone else experiencing this?

I am having the same issue. Unplugging and repowering on resolve the issue, also disconnecting and reconnecting the HDMI cable fixes it. Output from the 7232 goes to a Sony Google TV device. I also have DirecTV and never had this issue. Seems like an HDMI switching problem. Is there an easier way to reset the 7232 than just unplugging it? Or - better yet - what's the cause and how do I resolve?
Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try on your own for the problematic STB.
From your FiOS TV remote, go to:
Menu -- Customer Support -- In Home Agent -- Reboot STB
Menu -- Customer Support -- In Home Agent -- Set Top Box Auto-Correction
